Fab breastfeeding w/shop this morning, feeling confident about knowing what to look out for and getting help if I need it. MW appointment on friday, lets do this!
Feeling really exhausted now. Got up for juice and toast at 5.20am then in at work for 8 then w/shop at 10 and now back at work. Ready to go home for a little sleep.

Barbeasty · 13/11/2012 15:08

COD is the baby engaged at all? The bump measurement goes down when that happens (according to my mw last time). When I felt exactly like you after 9lb DD and bump 2cm small.

I had a scan yesterday, at exactly 36 weeks, and my placenta has moved enough that I can go to the MLU. They aren't sure exactly how far it's moved because the sonographer couldn't find it! Engaged head meant that the normal scan didn't show it, so I had to have an internal scan (which I've not had before) and she couldn't find it then either!

Poor DH, left the room at the point where I was given the choice of taking just one or both legs out of my trousers!

Good news is that the head is facing the right way (last time the spine was in the right place but it was discovered during the birth that the head was back to back and brow presentation), and he's spot on average weight. So hopefully I'm in for a much easier birth this time!

Just had my last team meeting before I finish next week and no acknowledgment at all that I'm going, so looks like it will be the same as last time. My mw still remembers the fact I didn't even get a card when I finished work last time!

Spotty hope you get the money soon. We're waiting to get money back for the car seat. And we had a dodgy call from someone last night saying they'd bought my car from the insurer and wanted the key and service book. Both of which were with it. So some poor person will probably end up buying a dodgy ex-write off.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2012 15:13

Oh Barbeasty I didn't get a card or anything either! Oh goodness! My first car was originally a write off, didn't find out until I went to part exchange it at an actual dealership!

ISpyPlumPie · 13/11/2012 15:14

Daydream - I've hired my Tens from Babycare. It's £27.50 for 5 weeks hire. Know from last time it's not a problem arranging extra weeks if you need them (one for free, £5 per week after that). Think they might have an offer on at the mo so you can buy one for about £40 - might be worth thinking about esp if you're likely to use it again.

Stacey - hope you're feeling ok.

Pidge - sounds exciting! Glad to hear that the shooting pains when walking are a good thing, I'm getting loads.

Well, have gone and hired a pool. Think I was dithering as felt committing any money towards hb was tempting fate. Am becoming ridiuclously supersticious recently). It arrives tomorrow so will be all set.

MaMaPo · 13/11/2012 15:22

Hey Strawberry - we went for your namesake, the iCandy Strawberry. Had been thinking about the Bugaboo Cameleon but after a quick compare the Strawberry won hands down. Love that it can be folded one handed with the seat still on, and that it will stand up of its own accord. The Bugaboo felt a lot more flimsy than I was expecting.

Calloo callay - I have been taking a day of annual leave once a week for the last 4 weeks and today is the first time I've been at home early (got home at 2 after chores) so now I am going to sleep! A nap feels very indulgent indeed.

PurplePidjin · 13/11/2012 15:24

How much raspberry leaf tea do i need to drink? About to try my first cup, cooled with apple juice because i know what I'm like with fruit tea!

Clarella · 13/11/2012 15:35

Oh my god i have a sweep actually booked in a diary!! 40+1, 27th nov and so distracted by mw's claims to have magic fingers and an excellent track record for getting labour started (sounds vigourous and her fingers looked wide) that im not sure whether she said 'get you booked in for an induction at 41 wks' - which im unsure if i heard right but when met nct ladies earlier anesthetist lady and gp said they do with women over 35???

Going to have to start shagging.

PurplePidjin · 13/11/2012 15:45

Clarella, my next appointment will be 2 weeks time at around 39+4/5 to discuss induction. I'm refusing to think about it!!

HoneyMum21 · 13/11/2012 15:48

Mamapo we've got the icandy strawberry and love it. It's fantastic. Are you getting the carrycot?

I'm sat with the small person attached to my boob actually a bit upset at missing the last few weeks of pregnancy. I don't get to partake in any of the last bits. Still feeling quite shell shocked about all that's happened in the past 3 weeks. Although it does mean that I don't have to worry about sticking half a pharmacy/supermarket up my fanjo to try to coax him out...! Wink

brooke89 · 13/11/2012 15:49

Wooah talk of sweeps booked in and 4/5ths engaged around, don't think it's going to be long before another one of us pops! Can't wait to start reading about all the babies being born!

MyDaydream · 13/11/2012 15:49

Thanks for the tens recommendations, I've been Googling a lot today trying to find the best deal.
Pidj the instructions on my capsules that can be used for tea too say 3 - 6 caps a day, so I imagine 3 - 6 cups per day. It's why I've gone with capsules, I just can't imagine drinking that much tea a day.
Clarella can't believe you actually have a sweep booked, and possibly an induction. I'm hoping my midwife has magic fingers, I don't want to go too overdue since DP has to be back in work the second week of January no matter what.
I don't know what baby has been doing for the last hour but it's felt like he's been trying to burrow out of my side.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/11/2012 16:01

spotty could you link to the gd thread I can't find it.

Thanks whoever asked if I was ok. I am, we all just want whatever is best for our babies but I just feel disheartened that I won't get the birth I wanted ( water birth in mlu) and as this is my last it makes me :(

I'll get over it. I don't think it helps that I haven't been given a lot of info yet, hopefully when they fill me in on thurs I might feel a bit happier.

Sorry to be all down.

Clarella · 13/11/2012 16:18

Hoping you can sort it out with your dp brooke - i do think the porn bit is unacceptable.

Oh honey, i know it must feel like that but you're also our trail blazer! Think of all the money you've saved on fanjo related foodstuffs! - we met our early nct baby couple and baby today, born same week as you, he came out of hospital on friday and is now around 5lb and would have been 37 wks - similarly i think shes feeling shes missed out on stuff though now they feel like they are learning all over again as there is no nurse to hand - you and Dash sound like you are doing soooo well! But i can empathise with how crazy the last few weeks have been for you -this couple are till quite shocked about it all too. Im sure i speak for everyone on this thread - we are so very proud and impressed with you and Dash! Also, some of us will be turning to you for panicked advice on the post natal thread ( we will have one right??!!)

I can't bloody believe she's booked a sweep in. Still, its two whole weeks away. However I do have this funny feeling (in my waters lol) that ill pop before that, no idea why.
Have to say am doing better at wolfing dates than swigging my tea Grin not got round to stuffing fanjo with anything yet but did attempt a shag last night though we were woefully rubbish at it. Might try the ep tonight, whats the score with that?

ellliebelle · 13/11/2012 16:22

stacey i know exactly what you mean about not getting the birth you want thats exactly how i felt when i was diagnosed with gd. This is number 3 for us too and definately my last amd i so want a home birth which after speaking to the midwife after seeing the horrible obstiatrition last week actually seems like it could still be possible maybe if your consultant is as bad as mine you could try talking to supervisor of midwives for another opinion? Although my consultant did say if i ended up on meds they would look to induce from 37 weeks. I dont think you have to agree to this but just thought id let you know what i was told

Clarella · 13/11/2012 16:23

Oh stacey and Flowers, sorry i missed your post. It will be easier when you know the score. I was pretty upset when they were messing me about for not really much of a reason, i ve found 'keeping my eyes on the prize' (healthy lo) helped a lot.

Clarella · 13/11/2012 16:25

Ah well, i wonder if you could post in childbirth and do some research on that stacey?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2012 16:29

Stacey I'm not sure where it is I think Secondsop was on it.

I should get my induction date tomorrow! I know what you mean about missing out on things never getting that ooo am I in labour? Omg my waters just broke etc. I also get really Envy at people who have their baby and get to keep them with them and then take them home a day later hmph.

Mummycox · 13/11/2012 16:33

Apparently ingesting sperm has a better effect.

Also, lidl are selling tens for £20 - so I am told.

Is it all garages that regard women with disdain or just the ones I have to go into?!

PurplePidjin · 13/11/2012 16:43

Stacey, "my" hospital (large teaching/research) has 2 wards - ML and Medical. I'm headed for the ML ward, then if necessary transfer down a floor to Medical. That was the Paediatric Consultant's suggestion when it looked like he'd definitely need checking over immediately after birth.

The ML ward has all the same facilities as the local birth centre - pool, balls, special chairs etc. It's just closer in case something unexpected happens. If your hospital is anything similar - and they tend to be - you may still get your water etc even if the actual baby isn't delivered in the actual pool.

Chin up

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/11/2012 16:47

I might start a thread but think I may just feel sorry for myself for now.

Thanks for all the sympathy.

CODwidow · 13/11/2012 16:57

barbeasty no not engaged at all so just keeping an eye at the mo but hoping its just she's a small one lol Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 13/11/2012 17:01

I want a small one

PurplePidjin · 13/11/2012 17:04

It's all complete bollocks guesswork, Spotty - I'm 4/5 and suddenly measuring a week ahead Hmm

Babies show up when and how they please.

CODwidow · 13/11/2012 17:22

Ha ha spotty she has 4 weeks to catch up yet but it would be nice to have a slighty smaller one than last time. Delivery was fine but recovery was bloody awful!

pmgkt · 13/11/2012 17:40

Spotty, having been induced you do still get a bit of will it won't it work, and when will it start, and I did get the water breaking naturally too rather than it being done.

I have already been booked in for 2 sweeps, and an overdue c section date too. Is someone trying to tell me something. And I'm not due to 28th Dec.
