Oh dear, I'm not posting my belly, I look enormous! A maternity HCA asked if I was having twins today Shock

WillYouDoTheFandango · 09/11/2012 21:45

It only looks long Spotty, I'm 5'3'', how long can it be? Unless I have very stumpy legs Hmm

ellliebelle · 09/11/2012 21:55

honey he is perfect i am very jealous also even though we are team yellow i am secretly hoping for a blue one :)

had a much better day today, dh works 4 long days so has fridays off he let me sleep till gone 10 and cleaned the house while i was sleeping :) then i called the supervisor of midwives in my area who is going to come see me and speak about the possibility of homebirth with gd she was very supportive and said there home are midwives in the area who would be happy for me to go ahead and to deliver the baby at home providing i am informed of all risks etc and have scans and stuff so feel more positive now. i would never put my foot down and insist on homebirth if my specific circumstances meant it would be dangerous but i dont want to be labeled high risk if come 38/39/40 weeks im actually at no more risk than those without gd

i have been inspired to put my bump pic up although i just look fat compared to most you you :(

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 09/11/2012 22:13

Hahaha my bump is at least double the size of some of yours! Lol I get seriously asked if its twins.

Restless legs tonight, not happy. Just want a baby now!

ellliebelle · 09/11/2012 22:26

got my growth this point scan next week ill be 34 + 2 does anyone know what they would class as a big baby at this point? also what birth weight do they count as big?

ISpyPlumPie · 09/11/2012 23:06

He's gorgeous Honey

Ellie - that's great news about the supervisor of mws. Hope it all goes well when they come out to see you.

Don't think I'm brave enough to post a bump pic either. I'm still getting people telling me I look enormous, but met up with some NCT friends from last time who said I actually look smaller this time round Confused. Measurements are fine though and that's all that matters in the end.

Walnut8 · 10/11/2012 02:16

Wow, I am ENORMOUS compared to all the pics of your bumps I have seen. As in about double the size? Whoever said they look like they did at full term, that is def where I am too. No wonder I keep getting wary looks in the supermarket Grin

Well, so much for the wedding and having a night away this weekend. DD was up all night vomiting and DH and I are both completely knackered. He had to go though (the groom is a good friend) and I am home with DD. Had a huge argument about whether he was going to stay the night out at the venue. I said absolutely not and may have been slightly hysterical and in the end he agreed. I am so tired I just wouldn't have coped with a toddler with d&v all day today and all night tonight.

Walnut8 · 10/11/2012 02:38

Got up courage and have uploaded a bump shot. Hope it works! Confused

MyDaydream · 10/11/2012 05:07

I'm wide awake listening to my step dad snoring from the next room wondering a) how my mum manages not to kill him and b) how I slept through the noise when I lived at home! I don't think I could do it now. Wish I could see all the bump pictures, on my phone but would love to compare with mine, which just feels massive and I seem to be hitting on a lot of things at the minute.
Walnut, sorry you didn't get to go to your friends wedding. I went out to my friends engagement party last night and think I'll now be turning down any future invites to thinks that involve dressing up and staying up late because I was miserable. Much happier when I got back to my mums, put my pjs on and sat in a comfortable chair!

2blessed · 10/11/2012 05:54

I'm up too!
soapnuts heating and hot water came back on about 4 yesterday afternoon. Was so relieved as just packing a bag to go and spend the weekend at DMs.

Poor you daydream will you be able to get some sleep once everyone's up?

V excited that my bf is coming over for coffee, cake and goss and she's also bringing the moses basket she's lending me. Mattress and bedding shopping on sunday.

MyDaydream · 10/11/2012 06:14

2blessed, glad everything came back on just in time for you.
I'm just waiting for my mum to wake up so I can say bye, hopefully it'll be earlyish. DP is also joining in with the snoring, and is bed hogging, but would sleep all day if given the chance so I'll just get him up and go home to bed. I was tempted to leave the bedroom door open so he got a face full of dog nose in the morning but thought better of it!

FriendofDorothy · 10/11/2012 06:15

I'm up too. Had a stinking cold yesterday and now I feel like I am about to start with the runs. :(

I think I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself. I had a ncic day planned too. I was meant to go to yoga and then have a pregnancy massage. I have cancelled yoga and need to see how I feel in a bit to see whether I cancel the massage. Bollocks :(

2blessed · 10/11/2012 06:31

friend sorry to hear you're not feeling well, make sure you get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.

daydream sounds like you're in the middle of a snoring duet. Bet you can't wait to get back to your own bed.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 06:38

WillYou I'm 5ft3 (1/2!) too but I have quite long legs ad a short body Hmm

Walnut that bump is impressive, looks like baby is laying with bum on the outside?! Hope your DD feels better soon and your DH isn't back too late

Ellie You don't look fat, you've got a lovely bump! I have a growth scan next week too, which day is yours? I had one a week and a half ago at 31+6 and ds was the top end of the scale for AC, HC and weight at 4lb13. I suppose they would count anything over 9lb at birth as 'big' but with diabetes what they are looking for is the AC being big in proportion to the rest of the measurements it's not so much the general size of the baby I think....

FOD Hope you feel better after going to the loo! Sometimes you just need a good clear out Grin

I slept quite well, only woke once with heartburn, dd up at 5:10 though....

soapnuts · 10/11/2012 07:29

I'm getting very jealous of these bump photos - I just feel like a blimp! Walnut you have such a neat bump! I didn't think that was possible at this stage! I'm definitely the same size now as I was with DS1 at full term..... though strangely enough I keep forgetting I'm pregnant..... not sure how!! I'll think about putting a bump photo up when I've unpacked the camera!

DS seems to be coping with jetlag better than me at the moment - slept until 5 which is a massive improvement - I had to lie quietly in bed until DS woke at 6.45 cos he's sharing my bed (DH is still away) and I'm kind of enjoying having him in with me for a few last sleepy cuddles before all my time is taken up with the baby!

yuck to the snoring.... my parents usually take it in turns to shake the house..... actually they have been surprisingly quiet since I got back..... either I'm so knackered I'm not hearing it or I complained so much last time they stayed that they've done something about it!

2blessed - glad you got the water back on - and hope it stays on! It's cold enough at the moment but would be even worse if it happened in another month or so I imagine!

EggsMichelle · 10/11/2012 07:59

Walnut my bump looks very similar to yours, how far are you? I have been reassured by DM and her fellow MW friends that I won't get much bigger, I feel like I will topple over every time I get out of a chair!

Action stations in my house, parents arrive in one hour, need to shower, wash up, clear dog poo, dust upstairs and go to Argos... GO GO GO!!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 08:04

Possibly stupid question.... Am I allowed to clean the oven? Nothing on the cleaners says I can't but for some reason I always thought it wasn't allowed Confused

HoneyMum21 · 10/11/2012 08:09

No spotty - your DH has to do it Wink. Nothing to do with the chemicals just you should relax and let him do it!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 08:22

I need to do it though I think I might be nesting Blush

Walnut8 · 10/11/2012 08:29

Don't do it spotty, you'll feel ill! Smile Oven cleaner fumes are no good!

Friends keep telling me I have a pointy bump ... ?! Eggs, I am 35 + 6 today

emilyeggs · 10/11/2012 08:34

I put a bump pic up last week (
32 wk) shall now brows though all of yours Smile seems like there were a few in the 3am club last night, hope all are feeling well today and nasty bugs stay at bay

AlisonDB · 10/11/2012 08:34

I think it depends on the type of cleaner,
A gentle cleaner I think is safe to use, (but may not be very effective)

But something like OvenPride with ammonia etc in it,
You should wear a mask and open doors and windows so you have tons of ventilation (I think this should be standard with this kind of cleaner never mind when preg,)

I agree with Honey, get DH to do the oven and find yourself a nicer less messy nesting job! :-)

pinkglitter80 · 10/11/2012 08:36

spotty cleaning the oven was one of the things the dr told me pregnant people nnustn't do at my first appt, due to all the fumes. i had to leave the flat when my DH did it as felt so ill even in another room!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 08:46

Hmm ok maybe I'll clean the fridge instead....

Yes walnut it is, I was trying to be polite Wink

2blessed · 10/11/2012 08:52

I'm in cleaning mode too! Also want to take some bits to the charity shop, need more space.
Fancy making a pot of soup today...
