Isn't anusol pronounced anus-hole?
Mini eggs has been going crazy fir tha last three days! Can't complain though as I'd worry if s/he didn't move fir a few hours!

Clarella · 05/11/2012 23:02

Well nice to see the fango conversation is still going strong, with the current ingredients we're almost able to make a date muffin in our - err muffin (ep oil, yoghurt, dates, seasoned with raspberry leaf tea....) ;)

Eating lots of live yoghurt definitely kept / keeps thrush at bay for me when I discovered that trick a couple of years ago but a proper infection prob needs some canesten - never got round to putting the yoghurt down there but apparently very good.

datingthedevil · 05/11/2012 23:32

Hi Clarella, there's no way I'm eating dates given how they might make me a bit loose and more likely to poo everywhere in labour. There are dates in sticky toffee pudding so I'll try that instead :)). I think semen contains the prostaglandins that are used to induce you at the hospital. Thank you for the suggestion anyway x

datingthedevil · 05/11/2012 23:40

Hi daydream, it is pronounced ann-us-ol.
I used to work for a medical rep company who used to flog it and stuff for scabies :(. Yuck.

2blessed · 05/11/2012 23:40

At my antenatal class the midwife advised against anything that would make poo loose during labour. Purely for their own sakes as the more sold the poo, the easier it is for them to get rid of it.
Can't believe I'm still awake!

datingthedevil · 05/11/2012 23:44

Getting back to the lovely discussion on piles - someone (I'm really sorry I can't remember who) said they don't know anyone who didn't have them. I don't want to tempt fate but I don't have any issues in that department at the moment. I was wondering if its because my little bugger baby is transverse and tucked right up by my ribs so not pressing on my bowels etc (does that make sense??). Knowing my luck I'll get all the nasty bits right at the last week when I think I've escaped the worst of it (although I do have horrific SPD). X

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/11/2012 02:39

I would really like to sleep now.

Oh whoever has thrush once it's treated, to keep it at bay you can use lavender and tea tree oil in your bath instead of other products. I've found this helps a lot (had thrush on and off due to lots of antibiotics this pregnancy).

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2012 06:24

Can I just say I don't ask everyone I know with children if they got piles Wink just the ones who have discussed it all got them Grin

Mamas & Papas order due today!

Walnut8 · 06/11/2012 06:40

I don't think I had piles after DD ... and I'm not sure if I pooed. DH says he didnt see any but the MWs probably got rid of it. I'm not sure how it's possible not to poo TBH?! Grin

We have finally set up the cot and change table ... but I'm really unsure what to do about the mattress for the cot and moses. If I'm going to order new ones I really need to do it asap though. Sigh.

I moved last night on the couch and had a gush of fluid which really freaked me out. I think it was just wee though Confused as it didn't keep on leaking, like waters ...

Walnut8 · 06/11/2012 06:50

Urgh and have my consultant appointment tomorrow. Dreading it. Whoever it was that asked (sorry can't remember), it's the same consultant every time - over here where I live we pay (a lot of money) for a private obstetrician to look after us through the whole pregnancy Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2012 06:59

Maybe it'll be better this time 'Walnut* I think I didn't poo last time because I'd been that morning and had been sick every half an hour for the whole night before and wasn't allowed anything to eat Grin must have been empty!

Queenofsiburbia · 06/11/2012 07:43

Hi all,

Cant believe 17 pages Shock!!
And Grin at the discussions!

Im abit grossed out by the poo situ & it's certainly a factor in my reluctance to be in birth pool at pushing stage (who wants to avoid a floater sailing past at that point?!)

I'm hoping the early stage D&V will clear me out.

I'm amazed by that date study clarella and will be trying it I think. Does it still work if wrapped in bacon I wonder!

I'm going swimming first thing this morning (really wish I could move in to the pool, & the jacuzzi also is heaven!!!) then going to see grumpy mean midwife. Gotta have an awkward conversation to find out if it's her who will come & see me after the birth. I don't want her to Sad.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/11/2012 08:18

Morning everyone. Well got my GTT this morning. I'm not looking forward to it and I can't see much reason as nothing has shown up in my urine so far. Ho hum the joys of pregnancy.

Well I just hung out my washing with gloves on! Lol it's soooo cold, but at least it's dry and sunny!

FriendofDorothy · 06/11/2012 08:29

I quite enjoyed my GTT. It gave me a couple of hours to sit down and relax with my book!

pmgkt · 06/11/2012 08:37

If you poo in the pool the scoop it out with a sieve! Nice.

MaMaPo · 06/11/2012 08:38

Stacey, are you having the GTT because of your blood results, or something else? I ask because my urine tests have all been clear and I finally got bloods done last week which are also OK, so I am assuming (but don't know for certain) that this means I don't have to go for the GTT.

Giraffe, I'm also wondering if all my manic movement means I am going to have a super excitable child! Will have to plan to swaddle, I think.

Such a glorious lie-in this morning - I have been taking a day of annual leave every week for the last few, but so far it hasn't been even slightly relaxing as I've been up and about at the normal time rushing all over London. By now I've usually already done the chaos of the tube commute and have already got stuck into work, but here I am in bed, about to go and make breakfast. Also got a cuddle from my husband as we woke up. Blissful.

Off for some physio this morning to sort out my hip pain. Hopefully it's a one-session issue...

SpottyTeacakes · 06/11/2012 08:45

Stacey you're mad will your washing not freeze?! We have a pretty solid ground frost here!

MamaPo mine goes crazy I think he might be an octopus. Tesco have some swaddle me swaddle blankets for under a fiver (I think it's because the colours aren't so pretty) but usually a three pack is £25 so I think I'll order a couple of those

PurplePidjin · 06/11/2012 09:24

dating and cookies did you get the group pm? I'm not sure i did it right! Pmgkt's reply only came to me, perhaps i need to start a thread?

It's nippy down here but no frost :)

EggsMichelle · 06/11/2012 10:48

I have spent the morning taxi-ing DH around Nottingham trying to get university people to sign paper work, I have to keep reminding myself there are only 4wks left of this and he is finished, plus he did buy me a big posh coffee, so for that I am greatful! Got some very colourful sleep suits from Saisburys.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 06/11/2012 10:53

mamapo nope not from bloods it was because my dad has type 2 diabeties but they didn't actually book my in earlier for some unknown reason.

Well I'm home having not had the GTT as I'm over 34 wks so I have a blood sugar machine to monitor myself for a week to check out my levels.

spotty the subs out here and we're up to 5 degrees lol, I'll need to warm the washing on radiators later but it should get mainly dry out there!

2blessed · 06/11/2012 11:14

spotty thanks for the tip about tesco swaddles, think that's the only thing I don't have.
My LO woke me up with a tea dance this morning as opposed to zumba, was grateful for the change in tempo.

datingthedevil · 06/11/2012 11:25

Just wondering, what order do we out the dates, yogurt, evening primrose oil capsules up there?!?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/11/2012 11:32

Maybe epo first as it needs to be nearest the cervix, then dates (I'm still unsure on this one), then yoghurt to treat the general area Grin

FriendofDorothy · 06/11/2012 11:36

I am so not shoving a pile of groceries up my fanjo!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 06/11/2012 11:45

You could whizz up the yoghurt with dates a la Jamie Oliver then it may be more manageable dorothy?
