spotty I admire you for even considering going out! I love bonfire night but too heavy, tired and uncomfortable this year. I can see a couple of fireworks but not much from where we are. My mum lives in a place where there are about 15 houses and they do group events like fireworks night so I'll go to that next Saturday night and have some chilli. Will miss the mulled wine though :(

I've done more hospital bag shopping and packing and I think I've gone a bit nuts about it! I've got little plastic wallets with things for labour (flannel, vaseline for lips, relaxing pulse point oil) things for after (pots of salt bath, lavender, maternity pads, pants) things for after bath (arnica, deodorant, little pots with tinted moisturiser, blusher and mascara) hair accessories (dry shampoo, hairbands, clips, serum, brush) a pouch of baby stuff (Vaseline, nappies, milk, muslin) and that's not even the clothes for me or the baby!

I keep feeling like my waters are about to pop!

Secondsop · 03/11/2012 19:49

You are all so organised with your hospital bags! At my NCT class yesterday the teacher said to pack the bag with my husband so that he knows where (and what) everything is. Might do it tomorrow. We also really need to construct the wardrobe for the baby's room at some point but we're both dreading that because it seems really complicated and we're bound to get cross and frustrated at each other. .

I feel like the baby may be moving downwards - definitely more pelvic pressure now.

Those of you going out - wrap up warm! It's really cold out. We went to the Aussie Rules game at the oval today and I was very glad of my big coat and scarf.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/11/2012 20:01

My hospital bag won't be packed until the day before I go it Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 03/11/2012 20:01

in*

Barbeasty · 03/11/2012 20:44

My hospital bag will be packed after DH and I go away for our anniversary in a couple of weeks, because I'll be using the same bag!

We're just back from a firework display. Almost the second the fireworks ended, the most monumental hail storm started. I'm dried out now, in my pyjamas with duvet and fire on. Worth going though.

datingthedevil · 03/11/2012 21:06

Thanks walnut, that's a great idea re the bag. I'll def do that. I might take an extra bag for drinks and snacks in case I get hungry as where I want to go isn't near any shops (just a pub).

SpottyTeacakes · 03/11/2012 21:15

I'm such a lame arse. I can't even get up off the sofa and I'm only 32+2. I don't know what I would do if I had to go to 42 weeks I'm not even sure I'll make 38 tbh. I can't breathe or anything Sad

Envy at your fire Barbeasty

datingthedevil · 03/11/2012 21:15

Hi pmgkt I'm just outside Romsey and new to the area. Nice to meet you :).
When are you due?

datingthedevil · 03/11/2012 21:16

Where are you purple?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 03/11/2012 21:45

Right boob just starting leaking......freaking me out....this didn't happen last time!?!

PurplePidjin · 03/11/2012 21:50

South of you and west of pmgkt :o

Get measured for bras in Bradbeers - they're amazing! My mum goes to Lucy, i think, and I'll be getting my nursing bras from her in a few weeks (she reckons you can't be accurate in any way until at least 38 weeks)

Ringwood meet up ahoy - just round the m27 for pmgkt and a pleasant bimble across the forest for us two!

HoneyMum21 · 03/11/2012 22:05

And for today's trick... Dash has learnt to grab my nipples and squeeze them when I'm trying to get him to feed... Confused

Clarella · 03/11/2012 22:27

Aw how lovely honeymum! (if a little eye watering!)

Live labour on the Nov thread Confused

datingthedevil · 04/11/2012 00:06

purple that sounds like a puzzle! I had to close my eyes then to work out where that might be! Where are you planning on going? Pah? Or new forest bc?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/11/2012 00:37

Sleep is eluding me :(

Thankfully tadpoles movements have returned to normal so I'm going to cancel my monitoring for tues morning. Still got to arrange my GTT though.

I think my hospital bag is basically done but I'm going to have to check/repack it as I've forgotten. Lol

Walnut8 · 04/11/2012 05:05

Another hot day here today. have just been out for a really nice meal though with my visiting family and a glass of bubbly.

I'm glad movements have returned to normal Stacey!

We had a couple of live labour updates on the last thread I was on for DD, was pretty exciting! Esp the home births.

Way more discharge today. Wish I could get the results a bit earlier!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2012 05:26

Honey that's lovely Smile must be a good sign of bonding?

We're up for the day now. 4:45 dd announced it was time to get up and half an hour after calpol her temps still up and I'm hungry so here we are!

Walnut8 · 04/11/2012 05:33

Oh honey, I missed your last post. Ouch! Smile How are you feeling now? Are you managing okay? Are you able to spend most of the day at the hospital?

PurplePidjin · 04/11/2012 07:55

He's hungry, Honey, yay!!

Yeah, Burley at PAH then hopefully a few days in Ashurst as it's so much closer to home and family. Are you coming down, or are you Salisbury from there? I have a friend with the same dd as me in Fordingbridge who's coming south... Slingmeet is next Friday, let me know if you want details (it's very practical and not at all tie-dye-hippy-dippy-crazy-lentil-weaving don't worry!)

Mummycox · 04/11/2012 08:46

I didn't order snow until after baby came... So why is there snow on my car and ice in puddles?

Had a lovely day yesterday, girlfriends arrived with presents and chocolate and most importantly generally looked after me all day. Very lucky girl I am.

pmgkt · 04/11/2012 08:48

Hi dating. I'm due on 28th Dec, but I went over with ds1 by 2 weeks so I'm expecting it to be Jan. Happy for ringwood meet or s/ampton

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2012 09:40

Those whose babies are transverse do they lay like they're in a hammock or are they facing your back? Like the idea of baby chilling out hammock styleee Grin do they try to turn them like with breech babies?

No snow here just a ridiculous amount of rain meaning the roads are flooded, again!

PurplePidjin · 04/11/2012 09:59

Ringwood's cheaper for parking any excuse to nosy round the fabric shop

datingthedevil · 04/11/2012 10:44

Purple - I was offered Pah / ashurst or Winchester. So chose Pah / ashurst. I'm not keen on Winchester for some unknown reason.

MaMaPo · 04/11/2012 10:58

Hallo you chatty bunch!

Honey, grand news about your little one. He sounds delightful. One of our NCT bunch had her little one by CS last week, and they were then back in the hospital for a few days when he was about a week old. Not sure what had happened, but apparently not too serious as they're out and about again.

4 more work weeks for me, though I have about 7 days annual leave to take plus about a day of time off in lieu. So much to handover and nobody to hand it over to! The position has been advertised and so far 2 (!) people with the right qualifications have applied. Very frustrating. I thought the job market was supposed to be tight!

Bit by bit we have started getting ready for this little arrival. I bought some nappies and wipes and things and put them on the bathroom shelf, leading my husband to exclaim 'Holy crap!' when he went in there. By hook or by crook we'll come to terms with the reality of it all fighting all the way.
