Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
saralou100 · 25/04/2006 15:31

hi calsworld, i have appointment tomorrow to see gp and finally make this all official, time is dragging very very very slowly, i'll be 9 weeks tomorrow, hurrah!! i managed to get a scan already through the local epu, but only cause they know me and what a freak i am they let me do these things, am trying to be brave and not have any more scans at the present, we'll have to wait and see on that one though... i find this amazing for support, didn't know about it with ds and wish i had!! my hospital doesn't actually do any scans until 20wks anyway, so wouldn't get to see this one till then!!

saralou100 · 25/04/2006 15:37

nataliejane, are you constipated? (straight in their with the direct question) best way to avoid piles is to avoid constipation, high fibre diet and plenty of water..... also assuming a squatting position to open your bowels will help this, try raising your feet on a foot stool, much better position! now that's tmi :o

NatalieJane · 25/04/2006 15:46

LOL Sara!! Thanks :)

Not constipated as in I am going when I would normally go, but what is coming out is very hard - or at least feels like it... sorry everyone!!

Thank goodness I don't have to look any of you in the face!! Wink

I have been drinking loads and loads of water recently (about 2-2.5 litres a day) because I get bad kidneys when PG and the water stops them hurting. I think I am going to have to be brave and go to the chemists!

saralou100 · 25/04/2006 16:01

i would just like to quote the medical definition of costipation is something like reduced bowel movements or the passing of hard stools... you can be constipated and still poo!!! it's pushing out these hard stools that pushes out the piles, try buying some fybogel in lemon flavour (orange is disgusting) it's good stuff!!

saralou100 · 25/04/2006 16:05

you can also get creams for the actual piles - stops the itching, also good for healing tattoos!!

harrogatemum · 25/04/2006 16:14

shouldnt we take Brodiesmummy off the stats - it might upset her to see that she is still on there. I will update if I get a chance.

saralou100 · 25/04/2006 16:16

i'm not sure how to link to a web site so i'll post the web address, i have just been watching the most amazing video of a developing baby by prof robert winston (i'm a big fan) it shows a video in the womb of a developing foetus from conception to birth you can also look at pregnancy etc it's taken from his human body and child of our time series

www.bbc.co.uk/parenting/video/

choose the conception to birth link - amazing!!!

NatalieJane · 25/04/2006 16:36

I will go to the chemists tomorrow then - if I can pluck up the courage!! LOL Might blame it on DH when I get there...!!

Nice to see you Harrogatemum, everything OK?

Hattie05 · 25/04/2006 16:44

Thanks for the good luck wishes - i'm sure all will be fine!

Delia you are not alone in feeling left out in the scan dept. My first one was meant to be next week as my 12 week one (except i would be 11 weeks!) so they've only brought it forward by one week because of the fall.

Congratulations to all newbies, i cannot keep up with this thread at all! By the time i've read through all the posts i forget what everyone has said Blush.

But those of you who are first time pg's enjoy it! It so very exciting isn't it. Try not to let worries get in the way of enjoying what precious work your body is getting up to.

harrogatemum · 25/04/2006 19:55

Hi NJ - yes I think all is ok, just thought I would stay a bit quiet until I've had a 12 week scan, dont want to jinx anything.

staceym11 · 25/04/2006 20:54

hi everyone, sorry not been around as dp is off on holiday and we packing for the move its all been a bit hectic!!!

i would firstly like to send all the love and hugs in the world to toadstool im so sorry for your loss, look after yourself and your family!

right i have written a list of things to say as have been away for so long!!!

NJ i found a lump in my breast when pg with dd (well i didnt know i was pg) they said it was hormonal and to go back when i had a period, well i didnt and found out i was pg, i finally managed to get it checked about 8month ago, dont ask why so long the docs were b*stards, and it was fine, its got bigger with this pg as well, but im not worried as i know its only a fibroidenoma, which is like scar tissue!

saralou, you're not alone iv told everyone im pg but im huge so i couldnt get away with it!!! met a lady the other day with same size bump as me, she was 7 month gone! Blush

welcome to desperatehousewife, ladyanne, calsworld and debbsy!!! so glad you made it debbsy!!! congrats to you all!

im sorry to hear about your fall hattie i really hope the scan tomo shows that everything is ok, i read a mag the other day a lady was run over on her belly twice (well both front and back wheels) at 11 weeks and her baby survived!!

spinach i think it may be more than your imagination, i felt my dd move at 14 weeks (1st pg) and was told it was too early, but i knew what i felt, and they say you feel the 2nd baby roughly 2 weeks earlier and i am feeling this one now, feels like butterflies atm and its always when i lay down to rest!!!

eeyore i get bad headaches with my sickness but the migraines dont start till late pg which is bad!!!

mummytotoby thanks for noticing my dissappearance, i might not be on as much due to lots of stuff going on but im still hanging in here!! got my midwives appointment tomo and my 12 week scan on thurs which will be great, dd keeps asking to see the baby and i keep having to tell her she has to wait a while! poor cow!

right thats enough for my really long post i will try and look in on you all more often you all takl so much! lol my love to everyone and their bumps!

Debbsy · 26/04/2006 04:53

Saralou, I think I saw the program on tv... Sunday maybe? It was 2 hours long on Channel 4 (?)... and was absolutely amazing! It showed all the development inside from conception to birth and it was fantastic... perhaps it will be repeated sometime.

Ok, just looked it up and it was Life before Birth on Ch 4 on Saturday (22nd April) 7-9pm. I missed about 30 minutes as I hadn't realised it was on!

Debbsy · 26/04/2006 08:04

went back to bed though eyyore now got to go to work been throwing up since 3am this morning oh the joys!!

flowers1 · 26/04/2006 08:29

Hello, I wonder if I could be added to the list please? I am 10 weeks pregnant and my due date so far is the 19th November.

I hope everybody if feeling ok and look forward to some good discussions about all our symptoms! :)

mygirllolipop · 26/04/2006 09:31

Congrats and welcome flowers!
I was thinking that about the ppl who've lost taking their names off but had no reason to post the list so didn't want to do it for that reason and upset them more! Hope that makes sense.
NJ - I got a pile with DD3 didn't realise how painful they were, anyway anusol works a treat!

calsworld · 26/04/2006 09:35

Morning flowers - welcome. I've just joined the group too and will be ten weeks on Thursday! How are you feeling?

Esmummy · 26/04/2006 09:35

Snap Flowers, welcome :)
Although my EDD was moved to 21st by midwife, am keeping it at 19th until have had my scan to confirm.

calsworld · 26/04/2006 09:40

Esmummy, when is your scan booked for? Is it soon? You've got a DD haven't you - what is the scan process like? How long does it take and do you get to really see/hear anything? Don't know whether to be excited or nervous! I've been told by mw to take some money to pay for a picture so guess there must be something to see...?

I hope its good as its the day before my sisters wedding, we both live in the midlands but family based in Norfolk, and all are coming over for the wedding so will be able to show them the piccie...hopefully!

flowers1 · 26/04/2006 09:50

I am feeling tired and a bit queasy at times, though no actual vomiting yet, thank god. To be honest, I'm finding it hard to enjoy these early weeks because I've been so worried about a miscarriage, or something being wrong with the baby.

I don't know if anyone else has been experiencing this, but I find it hard to believe I'm actually pregnant! I've done 6 HPTs (!!!) to confirm it, but even now I sometimes doubt it, and wonder if the symptoms are just pyschological. When I saw my GP and midwife, they just took my word for it, didn't do any blood or urine tests, and didn't seem all that interested to be honest.

I've booked for a private scan at 12 weeks, as where I live in Bristol, you can't get anything on the NHS until 20 weeks. Once I've heard that heartbeat, and had that scan, I will hopefully be able to relax a bit and enjoy this time a bit more.

NatalieJane · 26/04/2006 09:53

Morning everyone :)

I am going to go to the chemists later on, thanks for everyones advice :)

Stacey, your lump sounds the same as mine, the doctor checked it out last week and he just said if it is still bothering me in a couple of weeks to go back, probably won't bother!

Harrogatemum, glad everything is still on track, fingers crossed we all stay that way from now on!

Hattie I thought I had mentioned it yesterday but obviously didn't, sorry about your fall, it must have been scary, I am sure however that everything will be fine, have heard endless stories about what accidents have happened whilst people are PG and they are fine. I know it will be hard but try not to worry, just look forward to seeing your baby sooner than you thought you would :)

And welcome and congrats to Flowers from me aswell :o :o :o It is really nice to still be getting new people joining :) I don't think I have but if I have missed anyone else joining welcome to you as well!!

Hope everyone is feeling good today?!
