Pound shop!

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 12:34

Sounds awesome detective! I might do the same later.

petite I can understand your nerves. Friday is going to be a very exciting and nerve wracking day!

I am still in my jammies - all be it with a jumper over the top. I have never been a jammies all day kind of girl but I wonder if I might manage it today. Yesterday was very weird. I went into town and had such strong Braxton Hicks that I could barely walk. I caught a couple of people giving me concerned looks. I then went to yoga and must have made such a racket plodding up the stairs that the yoga teacher looked really concerned. I had a very lazy evening watching DH put together all the nursery furniture. I went to bed late (for me) but barely slept until about 4. I feel happier in myself today but I think I should take the hint and make the most of the peace I have.

I might go to Aldi later to get dishwasher tablets - we do still have two though so that job could wait until tomorrow Grin

As it is raining I feel less weird about just parking my arse and reading my book.

One job I must do is turn off the dashed telly as Loose Women is on and it's like watching my Aunties after too much Chardonnay

daisychain76 · 17/10/2012 12:39

Pass come dine with me is on channel 4. Brockle l had a crush on CBeebied Chris for years ~ have since realised it was fairly hopeless!

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 12:44

Thanking you daisy! I turned over to a CSI: NY but I am considering treating myself to the Great British Bake Off while bouncing on my ball.

This would mean dislodging the cat though. Hmm

Brockle · 17/10/2012 12:52

I can safely say that never entered my head daisy Grin although I quite like Sid and I do have a bit of a crush on Rich the drummer from Imagination Movers on Disney Junior. You see this is the reason I should get out more.

I am feeling baby hiccuping around my belly button. Do we think DS3 is up or down??

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/10/2012 12:57

Oh dear I managed to lay on my bed for '5 minutes' ... I've just woken up! Grin

Chunkychicken · 17/10/2012 12:57

Indeed VQ/shanelle - Poundland.

Counting the days until maternity leave. 2 days to go!!!

Currently trying to persuade DD to go for a nice early nap so I can tackle the housework without my hard work being destroyed before I've even started...

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 13:02

tits sounds much like my 'just 5 minutes more'

Iheartpasties · 17/10/2012 13:03

I'm off to bed in 5 mins. Just savoring some peace. DH is in such a grumpy mood and I cant be bothered with him! He's v v v ill with a cold!! men!! Its the same damn cold I had the week before he got it, and he can take as many pills as he wants!! and suck on strepsils etc etc very annoying. You would think he was at deaths door. "I feel worse today" thats what he said when he got home from work. anyway - rant over.

two babies on friday - how exciting!! I'm hoping for a halloween baby FINGERS CROSSED!!

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 13:04

Hmm. Just been browsing threads and come across one which asks about brownish green discharge. I have had this in tiny amounts for the last few days and thought nothing of it. Ladies on there reckon it could be meconium.

Off to call maternity triage

Iheartpasties · 17/10/2012 13:08

pass! yes you are best to do that! It does sound like meconium. Fingers crossed for you.

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 13:17

Called triage. Midwife was very nice but not at all concerned. It is normal white discharge with tiny flecks of brown. She is certain it is old blood. I will wear a pad for the next few days to monitor it. I am sitting here with an alien tummy as limbs get shoved around so it doesn't feel like there is a problem.

Midwife told me that leaking meconium was likely to be in quite high amounts and a dark sludgy brown.

Glad I called though.

Still not moved off the sofa . . . Might force myself to go for a shower.

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 13:18

Oh and thanks pasties. You should definitely go to bed now. Man flu I exhausting for all concerned!!

YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 13:18

Oh heck pass good luck with that x

Your description of 'Loose Women' is the best ever. 'Like my Aunties on too much chardonnay'. Grin

It was the moustache cam on This Morning which made me get off my fat arse and turn the TV off and put R4 on. I'm not getting sucked into Come Dine with me Again on 4 as by the time you know it - (as they play them back to back) it's 5pm and I've got nowt done.

Am meant to be 'working from home' but have hoovered, put a wash on, tried to clean the Rayburn soot off everything (those with gas central heating - I envy you!) my feet were black from wandering barefoot on our floorboards in front of the Rayburn Blush, tidied up after DH's 'just got in the door will drop everything in my pockets in random piles round the house' and his 'read my post will just leave it here' spots.... Ferrrcrissakes. I'm a slattern about cleanliness but I hate an untidy house. I'm like Jennifer Saunders in ab fab.... 'surfaces darling'!!!!

Lots more babies on the way how exciting. Am convinced that this one (due 19th Nov) will just scrape in and be a December baby. I'll be going mad by then....

I'm still in fluffy jamas

YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 13:20

Ahhh lovely news Pass. I need to go and have a soak in the bath... but am being so lazy. Done the washing up now too. Just need to prepare tea for later and then I might get on with some tapestry weaving or reading - both hobbies I'll never get a chance for come a month's time...

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2012 13:21

valium they're bringing it forward as I have a couple of hernias, slightly raised blood pressure and also at yesterday's monitoring my braxtons were measuring every 5 minutes and very strong. Dr thinks I may not last another week ( he does his planned sections on Fridays) and doesn't want to risk an emergency. He has some bad memories of dd1's birth and aftermath from last year so am being treated a little like a china doll this time round :)

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 13:25

Oh blimey do I have sympathy with the random piles issue. Wallet gets emptied of receipts and such like and the pile just lies there. It would lie there forever if I didn't periodically try to sort through it.

Must, must have a wash. I smell.

StuntNun · 17/10/2012 13:30

YW beg to differ but I have two lovely tapestries I did when DS1 was newborn. It's best to sleep when they sleep but sometimes you can't sleep and it's much better to do something quiet and relaxing than rush round trying to do housework as you need your rest too.

Nesting is going slowly Sad downstairs is done but I still have upstairs, ironing and saxophone practice to do before collecting the boys from school at 3.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 13:32

Makes sense petite all the very best.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2012 13:38

Thank you :)

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/10/2012 13:39

pass keep your eye on that. Although reassuring that LO is wiggling around.

Piles do my head in too. (both kinds ) dH has left a pile of work papers by the toaster. I refuse to move them. I have asked him if they need to be shredded. I will put them in the recycling soon and he will be in trouble for confidentiality, or lack of it.

Have just had a lie down with my hypnobirthing cd and got up feeling rubbish, all lethargic and poo. Want to go back to sleep again. Although it does seem to have alleviated my BH.

YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 13:44

Woo stunt that's good to hear - I went to a class with my favourite weaver this summer (Joan Baxter) and go to a weaving group every wednesday night with a local weaver Ros Bryant up here (you need indoor hobbies for the horrific winters up here). It's something that really chills me out - though am finding I am sitting further and further away from my frame as the bump grows! Ros is convinced my waters are going to break in her studio but assures me that unlike M&S she doesn't offer vouchers just a mop if that happens!

I had been very sad to mentally write off weaving as a post birth hobby but I'm all inspired now. Ta!

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 13:46

Random piles.... made me giggle! Grin How childish of me!

I was in the shower for an hour....! However, I have some words of wisdom to pass on. Don't try and sit down in the shower when you have not washed off the massage lotion from the night before Blush. Pregnant ladies sure can slide around in a rather unlady like fashion!!

Also, if you are intending to defluff, at least have the common sense to not go in blind. Note to self: wear contact lenses next time. Still, the pits and legs are done. Fanjo will have to wait. Am quite hoping that I won't have to repeat the torture that is shaving legs while pregnant for much longer!

I will also share with you something which I am quite sure is peculiar to the pregnant me! Well, I've never had a woman tell me the same, nor did I find this out in my midwifery training as a common pregnancy thing Grin. But please enlighten me if others have had the same!

My nipples just rubbed off all the brown skin layer, and are now a lighter shade of brown! Not pre-pregnancy shade, but much lighter than they were! This happened first time around, also after a bath. I know I was over 36 weeks that time too as it happened in my first house, which I only moved in to after that gestation. I can't remember exactly what gestation I was though.

It was as if a rubber had been taken to my nipple, little bits just erased away! I now have lovely shiny new non bumpy nipples! Ta-dah!

Blush
YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 13:51

Some of the colouration of my nips rubs off after a bath too! I thought I was going mad - again this has only happened when preggo! First time it happened I thought 'you dirty cow how have you managed to get Rayburn soot on your nips!!!' have now realised it is pigmented skin....

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 13:51

I really really really want a nap now. But I've got wet hair, and just put my contact lenses in.

Feck.
