YES! Thank you YW! I thought it was just me! Definitely never heard anyone else describe the same before!

I'm rather liking the shiny new ones haha!!!!

MissMummy1 · 17/10/2012 14:00

Just woken up, DH got my mum to phone and check up on me as he apparently doesn't believe me when i say i'm fine Hmm. Still feeling shit but touchwood have stopped throwing up now. And I've had some sleep. I'm like a big child, I hate being ill and wish someone would just come and pander to my every demand look after me! Sad Ho hum, soak in the bath before I tackle the washing. I vaguely remember crying last night because I was sick on my favourite jammies Blush.

How exciting petite - all the best for friday x

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/10/2012 14:00

I'm really tempted to jump in the shower for a nip scrub now Blush I'm slightly Envy of your shiny new ones, mine are really dark brown, like chocolate! Blush

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 14:01
Grin

My nips are so covered in milk, proper crusty like when I shower.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/10/2012 14:05

Mine get the very odd drop of milk now and again but apart from that are quite mediocre an boring..

I feel I should perform some amazing nipple based trick now. Wink

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 14:07

I still don't leak Grin but have plenty of colostrum there, if anyone wants it.

Tits you need to live up to your name!

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 14:09

Mine were like chocolate about an hour ago! Now they are like tea!

Baby is going absolutely nuts. Wonder what it is trying to tell me? My right hip sure is taking a thumping. While its bum pushes out under my ribs. Evil child.

YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 14:16

I can take a hint VQ am going to have this cuppa in the bath. DH is at work and won't be able to pull me out - hope I don't get stuck... we've got a clawfoot tub and the sides are really high... If you don't hear from me in an hour call the fire brigade Grin

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 14:16

Oh my word, I just saw a flash, followed by a massive bang! Hello thunderstorm!

Even more reason for a nap?!

WaitingForMe · 17/10/2012 14:37

Damnit I want shiny new nipples! Mine are horrifyingly huge and blotchy brown.

TheDetective · 17/10/2012 14:39

I have had a reply from the head of midwifery... I had already dealt with the issue last week by talking to a different supervisor of midwives, but I thought I should let you know the response to my stroppy email Grin I've c&p'd the important bit! I am now at peace!

"we are fully supportive of your choice for a home-birth which is demonstrated by the fact that xxxxx Maternity services offer a 24 hour home-birth service which is supported by a midwife on-call system. This enables 2 midwives to be on-call between the hours of 5.00pm to 9.00am every night. As with any services, which you and Matron discussed, there may be on the rare occasion situations which may limit that service. That is the Midwives may already be in attendance to another home-birth or due to extra-ordinary circumstances within the Maternity Unit such as the workload exceeds that of the number of Midwives in attendance then the on-call Midwives can be asked to attend the unit. However both these incidents described are rare and to date over the last year there has not been a need to call the on-call Midwives into the unit.

Matron & I did discuss the fact that you found the Midwives and Supervisor of Midwives to be somewhat negative in the manner that they informed you about events and circumstances around planning a home birth. We would like to apologies for this and Matron has offered to discuss the matter with the Supervisor of Midwives and to inform the Community Midwives to be aware of how they communicate information in an appropriate manner so that women feel their choices are being met and supported despite any differences of opinion. I am assured that Matron did try to convey to you that your safety and the safety of your baby is paramount and that any actions, suggestions or advice offered to you is to achieve this goal. We want the best outcome for you and your family and it is a privilege for us to be able to be part of your home birth experience. It is a joyous time and we hope you will now look forward and be excited about the arrival of your new baby which is due any time from now and the next 3 weeks. We do support your choice of a home-birth and value the communications that you have had with us which will help you achieve what you know is best for you."

Sophiathesnowfairy · 17/10/2012 14:54

Am glad you are at peace detective, and I too am a bit Envy of the Shiney nips, and even the milky ones as mine are neither.

Slightly worried about yw getting stuck in the bath, how long has she been in now? 45mins?

Can't eat anything without reflux. Back hurts. Tired. Is it nearly bed time? Can I have this baby now? Have had enough.

ShellyBobbs · 17/10/2012 14:54

Ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Matron! [

Grin
ShellyBobbs · 17/10/2012 14:57

VQ My first bargain of the year was in Asda a few weeks ago. I bought a baby grow bag and instead of the £12 I was expecting to pay, it went through at £6! I don't usually get bargains so was well chuffed.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 14:59

That is a good response detective. I would be pleased.

ValiumQueen · 17/10/2012 14:59

Oh yes. I remember now shelly I do love a bargain.

FatimaLovesBread · 17/10/2012 15:06

Another bloody thread Grin

Congratulations GT. Hope the feeding gets easier and can't wait for a name Smile

Well I was in a good mood, got home at 1pm full of the joys of spring, had quite a descent nights sleep and works almost done. But my mood has now soured.
Through the post we had a letter from the clinic we had the IVF at saying our free semen storage had expired so we need to pay £360.
Only problem is when we had treatment in March we paid a fee for "semen freezing". So either we've already paid or the original payment is wrong and we're owed that back. Rung up to question it and ended up getting quite annoyed, she said it was for one thing and then said it was for something else and when I kept questioning it and referring to the fees we've got she seemed to change her mind again on what it was for. She's told me to email to query it again and contest it, so I have.

So now i'm annoyed, I had a little cry because I hate getting in to arguments especially when people can't see the point i'm trying to make. Don't know what we'll do about the £360, we can't afford it at the moment and that's our back up sperm for if we need it for when/if we have DC2.

Don't know what to do with the rest of the day now, can't really be arsed to do much

YellowWellies · 17/10/2012 15:08

Am out of the bath was just enjoying my cuppa and listening to the radio meant to be working from home am safely extracted now!!!

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 15:09

Nice one detective. Good response - if a touch tardy.

I am clean and shiny! My nipples are pretty light anyway. Skin does flake off but I will keep a close eye on the colour - don't want little bald boobies.

Sitting on my ball watching the Bake Off final. How exciting! I want the wee jock Doctor to win. Doesn't look like it at the moment though as he has a soggy bottom. Cat is sitting immediately behind me on the sofa whining. Poor pussy.

Weaving sounds lovely. I have no finger-talent at all. Get all you guys with your weaving and saxophoning and stuff. YW have you Ben to Stirling Castle in the last couple of years? They are recreating the original wall hangings. You can go and watch them weave - I love it.

I have eaten a whole pineapple. Well, the bits that didn't end in the bin as it was pretty gnarly.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 17/10/2012 15:31

Feeling like rubbish as been up all night coughing.

Took car in for MOT and when I went to collect it DH has misunderstood the service guy so Honda have replaced 3 tyres rather than the two DH agreed to. So we've had to fork out £330!!!!

Going for a lie down now as DH not in work today so can look after DD.

Still raging over car!!

FatimaLovesBread · 17/10/2012 15:37

Can anyone inspire me with something to cook for tea?

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 15:41

I think I am cooking risotto with bacon and mushroom.

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/10/2012 15:47

My arm is so tender after the WC jab earlier :(

Took ds to a group this afternoon and we all did the hokey cokey! Baby has been rather wriggly since then it must have woken her up!

YokoUhOh · 17/10/2012 15:48

Congrats everyone on new arrivals and shiny new nipples :)

I was looking for some advice, actually; at 35 weeks, my abdomen is now permanently rock hard. I initially thought that this was Braxton Hicks but I'm starting to wonder if it's impending labour... No other symptoms apart from World's Hardest Belly TM. Any ideas?

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2012 15:51

No ideas I am afraid yoko. Did yellowwellies not have something similar and it was to do with head engagement. Check with her but I think she was given a position to get in to which would relieve the pressure.
