Bags are now packed so baby can arrive any time now. Should I take my nursing pillow in with me or just wing it with the rubbish pillows in there?

Im packing my ordinary pillow for a bit of comfort.

Ive started packing my bag, alot of things are last minute though so cant pack all that much, plus I havent washed the baby clothes yet so cant pack those either.

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 16:16

stunt I would be concerned about losing a nursing pillow, or it getting dirty or stolen. But that is probably just me.

blonderthanred · 19/10/2012 16:22

My friend came round earlier and laughed at my hospital bags. There are 5. But only because I've tried to be organised and pack stuff separately - one overnight bag for me, one for the baby, a bag of snacks for me & DH, a bag for labour stuff and one for spare just-in-case bits. Is that completely ott? Due to the induction I'm likely to be in a few days. She said the hospital would make me send some of it back.

MissMummy1 · 19/10/2012 16:35

I've not started bag packing yet (tomorrow's job!). Will be packing one bag for myself and dh during labour, my changing bag (whenever i get it) for junior and a bag to keep in the car incase we need to stay anymore than a night!

If anyone has a hospital bag list they wouldn't mind posting on fb that would be hugely appreciated!

I just put my hospital list up MM

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 19/10/2012 16:50

I have packed bags which are now in the car because we kept tripping over them!

Massively unproductive day. On my fourth episode of The West Wing. Have achieved nothing today.

Elizadoesdolittle · 19/10/2012 16:55

Congratulations to little and nervous. Glad all went well and enjoy those newborn snuggles. Looking forward to hearing more details when you're both up to it.

Been a miserable wet day here today which hasn't helped my mood. Been tired and grumpy despite having the best night sleep I've had in ages. Still nearly the weekend and have 2 parties to take DD too and I'm out on Saturday night for a last night out with friends before baby arrives so should be a good one.

blonderthanred · 19/10/2012 17:14

MM I've put mine up so you can see if it really is overkill... Some of the stuff is because of the possible slow induction and the need to stay at least 24 hrs post-birth because of my GD. But I don't think it's unreasonable!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 19/10/2012 17:17

Congratulations to both little and nervous

I've just had to go up the blooming loft as we are away for the weekend and all the suitable bags were up there. I was terrified I was going to fall or something but I'm down safe and sound. Have packed a load of crap no doubt as I couldn't find much to wear and it's a nice hotel. I'm going to be ridiculous looking in my summery maxi dress!! I'm booked into spa tomorrow for a70minute mother to be treatment so that will be lovely I hope. I also intend to wallow in the pool like a hippo in mud! I've bought some trashy magazines especially for by the pool as I intend to lay on the heated lounger reading in betweent wallowing. My MIL also gave me a box of milk tray so I will be taking that too and devouring after dinner in doubt.

My bag is kind of packed, it won't shut but I can't be bothered dealing with it today so wil sort it once I'm home. Hotel not too far away so haven't bothered taking it but may take my notes just in case.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/10/2012 17:26

izzy I went up in the loft today too! Dh said there was a holdall up there so went to have a look but there wasn't.
So I'm having to use the holdall which was under the bed covered in dust and a dead spider so I hoovered the bag!

kissyfur · 19/10/2012 17:34

Congratulations nervous! Lovely news. Hope you are feeling ok after your section Thanks

I seem to have developed a rather nasty cough and wheezy chest Sad feel a bit rubbish.

I too have some curtains to measure and hem pass floor length ones too, which is a bit of a mare

applepieinthesky · 19/10/2012 18:08

I fell asleep on the sofa for two hours Shock and have just woken up. I got 9.5 hours last night and the only thing I've done today is go to my mw appointment. I found it exhausting this morning just getting dressed. Is anyone else feeling ridiculously tired?

Passmethecrisps · 19/10/2012 18:15

Snap kissy. I have finally done mine - I had cut down from 300cm to 232cm which was a bit of a mare. Done now though. Someone with any more seamstress skill would have managed it in a third of the time though. Am now parked back in nursing chair watching DH fit the tension mounting stuff that the curtains will hang from. They are being used to screen off stuff we can't move to anywhere else.

My bags are packed. I have two - one for me and one for LO. I am not packing snacks and things as the hospital had lots of places to buy them and if things are so intense that DH can't run off to buy some water and Percy Pigs then I don't think I'll want anyway.

FatimaLovesBread · 19/10/2012 18:16

I've been to Boots to buy some Spatone. I'm fed up of the traumatic constipated poos from the iron tablets and don't really want to be constipated when I go in to labour.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/10/2012 18:30

apple I find if I have a good nights sleep then I feel so tired in the day. Saturday mornings used to be my lie in day but if I sleep even just an hour extra I feel exhausted all day. Esp around 10ish and 2-3ish.

ditsygem · 19/10/2012 18:31

apple yes me! I feel shattered too. I gave myself a lie in this morning until 9.30am (although had been awake between the hours of 3am and 6am last night!) and then after lunch time I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours. Not productive! Glad its not just me though.

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 18:35

Stupidly tired here too.

I have never had a Percy pig. I am clearly missing out.

Passmethecrisps · 19/10/2012 18:44

Really VQ? They are little pigface-shaped pieces of fruit gum deliciousness. Yum yum

Passmethecrisps · 19/10/2012 18:46

Oh and add me to the silly tired group. I am in bed until late every day as I find I only get proper sleep between about 6:30 and 10. The rest is very disturbed and patchy. Maybe it wouldn't be if I got up earlier but it is hard to make yourself

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 18:50

Not keen on fruit gum deliciousness. I thought they were chocolate? Clearly I must try one.

I would say enjoy your lie-ins pass as you will soon have the best motivation for getting up at stupid o'clock.

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 18:55

I'm a Reversy Percy fan myself. Controversial I know. It's funny whenever islanders go south - Percy Pigs are always what gets brought back!!!!

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 19:01

Still not heard from cat , and detective has been silent since 8am. At least one of them must be pushing or cuddling.
