Wish I had long hair I could tie back. Mine looks better short though, it's very fine and flat when its long where as when it's short it has a bit of volume and style.

Mine was short pixie style Pre-pregnancy and I'd managed to grow it to just below my ears. It had got to the stage where it needed straightening to stop it flicking out but no where near long enough to tie it back so I've ha the back lopped off and some weight out of the sides so it looks presentable when not styled.

I've just spent 30 mins trying on clothes to see if anything fits me for DHs cricket do tonight. Do you think moose pyjama bottoms and DHs footie top would be acceptable attire?

FatimaLovesBread · 19/10/2012 13:56

Oh almost forgot... Congratulations little Thanks

kirrinIsland · 19/10/2012 13:59

Congratulations little lovely news :)

I have long hair too - mostly scraped back as that's easy. I'd love to blame that on having a toddler, but sadly it has always been that way! I am booked in for a trim next week though.

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 13:59

I'm long haired too - and have been just clipping it back with lots of wee clips. I have stupidly grown my hair during my pregnancy!

I'm also going to be seen fortnightly by the MW - so my next appointment isn't until 38 weeks (which is actually 2.5 weeks away). Which feels like forever - the consultant smiled as we left and said he might next see us waddling to the maty in labour!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 19/10/2012 14:01

Congrats little!

Another one with long hair. Am always tempted to get it chopped but have never actually done it. It does live in a ponytail though.

Am enjoying a rare day to myself - DH at work and DD at nursery. Have so far done not much at all. Free listing this weekend on ebay though, so am going to make lists and take photos of stuff later.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 19/10/2012 14:03

Saw my MW for the last time y'day, as am now 37 weeks and booked in for ELCS two weeks today - so will be seen by hospital for pre-section booking in the same day as I would otherwise have seen her.

Pretty pleased - this time last pregnancy my BP crept up a bit and MW would see me every 3 days, when it would be a bit high, and I'd have to go to the hospital for monitoring for several hours, when it would calm down and I'd then go back home!

NervousAt20 · 19/10/2012 14:07

Hi ladies just a quick update, I had my c section this morning all went well now I'm having lots of lovely newborn cuddles with my beautiful little girl! Feeling abit sore after the section but nothing beats these snuggles. Will update again soon. Take care all x x

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 14:10

I cut my own hair when I want it short (I've been to the hairdresser once in five years and that was for my wedding day!!! am such a slattern) - when I cut it I kinda style it after Juliet Binoche in the English Patient - I will likely do this to myself again after the baby arrives as it's nice to have hair that you just muss up and ignore. Because there's no accuracy or real 'style' in the style you can just cut it yourself!!!

As soon as I cut it I will decide I want long hair again. I always do.

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 14:11

Awwwwwww congratulations nervous can't wait to hear more details!

MissMummy1 · 19/10/2012 14:14

Aww lovely news nervous - glad all went well! Does she have a name yet?

The health visitor is late. Miss Deadline is not impressed!! Also day 2 of dh's leave and he's pacing like a caged tiger!!

FatimaLovesBread · 19/10/2012 14:16

Congratulations Nervous!!!

On a completely unrelated pregnancy topic, I've just posted some pics of my hair length on the FB group. I know you were all dying to picture it Grin

StuntNun · 19/10/2012 14:16

Congratulations Nervous on your little girl. Please take it very easy now, the first couple of days after a section are a bit tough but pregnancy hormones mean you'll get better fast. Flowers

I have grown my hair in pregnancy, it was a short layered bob but now it's shoulder length and all one length. I want to be able to get away with tying it back in a ponytail when I'm in a rush. But DS2 used to pull my hair so I had to have it really short when he was small, let's hope this one won't be the same.

I'm having really bad backaches today, about every 20 minutes. Baby isn't enjoying the BH much either. I really need to pack that hospital bag don't I?

Congratulations nervous, glad the section went well and hope you recover very quickly!

blonderthanred · 19/10/2012 14:23

Many congratulations Nervous and Little. That is fantastic news that you and your little ones are well. Hope you have some wonderful first days with them and look forward to hearing/seeing more. Lots of love.

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 14:24

Nice pics Fatima!

Wooo I also got some Gaviscon advance from my MW visit - ladies still suffering from heartburn - move away from the Rennies they don't touch the sides of it - Gaviscon advance is the future!

ValiumQueen · 19/10/2012 14:24

Pack your bag stunt

Well done nervous . Not sure I will get a signal in my hospital so may go quiet until I get home. How will I cope?

After the way the kids are behaving today, I think I will be asking to stay in a week.

DesperateHousewife21 · 19/10/2012 14:33

Congrats nervous can't wait to hear her name!

I've spent the past 4 hours at an indoor soft play. I'm starting to hate those places more and more. Ds expects me to clamber around on the equipment with him (which I did, and went down big slides!) but then you always get a few rough kids who hit/ push your pfb child and just made me want to leave, esp as ds is a big wimp and really cries.

StuntNun · 19/10/2012 14:33

Sah yes sah VQ, doing it now although the cat is getting in the way. I know just what you mean about staying in for a week. My DH leaves for work before the kids even wake up, I'd love for him to find out what he's missing - searches for maniacal laugh emoticon.

applepieinthesky · 19/10/2012 14:34

Congrats lolly and nervous Smile Enjoy your newborn cuddles.

I haven't been to the hairdressers in ages so my hair is really long. Got an appointment next week and I'm going to have quite a bit cut off but still want to be able to tie it back.

mw appointment went well. Baby was actually asleep this time instead of wriggling all over the place. 36 weeks today and measuring 35 but grown 2cm in last two weeks so that's fine. Next appointment is 38 weeks and the one after that is on my due date.

georgee · 19/10/2012 14:39

Wonderful news little and nervous! Hurrah! Enjoy those snuggles, there's nothing like them.

Nice pics Fatima. My hair is like yours when it was really short. Except it's grey, not lovely blonde! I can't decide whether to start dyeing it again after baby's here.

Passmethecrisps · 19/10/2012 14:45

Bonjour.

Huzzah for little and nervous! How exciting.

I had a midwife appointment today. Mine went 28, 34, 37 then the next is 39 then please, please no 41 and 42.

I have some leukocytes in my urine apparently. She has sent some for testing so I should hear on Monday if I have anything. I don't feel anything particularly apart from a constant need to wee. In the middle of the night I wee at least every hour - more like every 15 minutes before I am sound asleep and always have a full bladder feeling.

Baby is lying spine to the left with head just at the brim.

I need to trim and hem curtains now. Oh noes

WaitingForMe · 19/10/2012 15:03

Congratulations Little and nervous. I can't believe how many babies have been born already!

I need to hold on for six days before I'll be allowed to go to the Birth Unit (took a tour on Monday and it's like a spa!) but then I'm going to be hitting the pineapple etc hard. I am full of lies when I smile and say inside is the best place for him and that I'm feeling fine (everyone says how healthy I look). The reality is that as soon as he's term I want him out out out. I can't sleep, I'm headachy and hormonal, I feel sick a lot of the time and if he doesn't exit vaginally I fear he may actually burst from my belly. Sod a c-section I think he's going to tear his way out - last night DH had to move his arm because baby was kicking it so hard THROUGH THE DUVET.

Urgh.

kirrinIsland · 19/10/2012 15:06

Congratulations nervous Thanks

YellowWellies · 19/10/2012 15:33

Hahaha just had my nearest to going postal / 'let's use these hormones to get what I want' preggo moment.

Have been trying to sort out a fecking annual service of the Rayburn (which does our heating, hot water and cooking) and it's taken over 3 weeks to even get a response from the engineer despite four calls. There is only one accredited Rayburn service agent on the island - so we can't shop around and these feckers know it. For it to be serviced you have to let the firebox burn completely down and the entire unit cool - so you will be cold for a good 20 hours whilst it cools down to be safe enough for the engineer to examine - so not something you want to do with a new baby.

The lady on the phone was about to threaten to 'get in touch with an engineer and clarify a date' when I stropped 'you've done this four times now and never called me back, when I first called you it was September and months away from my due date but I could potentially have a newborn baby any time - would you be happy taking a newborn home from hospital to a house without heating?'

She rang me back in under 2 minutes and confirmed they are going to do it on Monday. Bahahahahaha that felt GOOD! Grin

MissMummy1 · 19/10/2012 15:42

Fab YW ! These hormones have to have an advantage somewhere along the line?!I had a meltdown in a garden centre because they claimed decaff coffee would incur a £2 surcharge on a breakfast that came with free coffee. I told them they were discriminating against pregnant women.... and then cried. I got a free breakfast out of them though! Needless to say I've not been brave enough to show my face again since...
