Thanks, Rainbow - I think from what everyone's said I'll just go ahead and book myself a MW appt for 24 weeks. From what I understand she isn't kept abreast of what happens at the hospital, apart from what she reads in my blue notes. I made a note to make a doctor's appt at 25 weeks and a MW appt for 28 weeks, but it's v. possible I got that the wrong way around!
I think the strong home birth agenda is definitely a good thing, Rainbow, but I know with my uterine history I will prob have to have CS and with twins I'm not even allowed in the MW led unit, boo! If things were more straightforward (and they may well be - I just have to see what the consultant has learned about what happened to me 15yrs ago) I would just love to have a go at active birth yoga, meditation, water birth, and all that. It sounds so superb. But, things being as they are, I'll definitely settle for two healthy babies however they emerge into the world!
I feel pretty confident that, although the chances are it will be a v. medicalised birth, my hospital happens to specialise in multiple pregnancies.
Oh, have you all seen this ace site which I've been meaning to share, tellmeagoodbirthstory.com, all about positive birthing experiences? I love going back to it and wept buckets when I first read it! Absolutely lovely.
Right, off to the physio shortly. Happy afternoons!
