gummi weds!

Hamnvik · 24/10/2012 21:03

Oh I forgot to say has anyone noticed they have a pregnancy waddle already? My bumps not even that big and yet I definitely feel like I'm walking funny!

Em2010 · 24/10/2012 21:24

Evening all,

I've managed to calm down following my mitten-string drama earlier!

manda that is a lovely website! Thanks for the link.

Congratulations to everyone for happy scans! Sorry to hear about your placenta problems october fingers crossed that it isn't accretia and will move! hermione if its any help my mum is a total Tom boy and I am very girly but we honestly couldn't be closer - we really are best friends. She sometimes lets me pin her down and paint her nails (imagine a similar experience to bathing a cat!) I'm not sure I'd be the independent woman I am without her though!

Does anyone find they are having dizzy spells? Fell on the floor earlier whilst ds was on his changing table (thank god he is old enough to know better than to jump off!) I looked up from the floor to see him peering over the edge and asking "are you ok mummy?" Bless him!

sundaesundae · 24/10/2012 21:34

No waddle here yet, but finding bending in the middle harder!

Em no dizzyness, but I do get incredibly faint if I don't eat properly. I can be such a twat and forget that even if I don't eat the bubba does and that leaves me with less than nuffink.

Looked at buggies today, Bugaboo is awesome but expensive, OH thinks that maybe one of the cheapo travel systems will be fine. I want to be able to do roughish terrain and get to the canal walk, not sure the mothercare basic travel system will work.

Yay for all the good scan news, not many of us left now :)

We go on hollibobs in the morning so looking forward to it!

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 24/10/2012 21:36

hamnvik I've been waddling for ages but my pelvis is knackered so that's my excuse!

em that's often to do with low BP, standing up for long/standing up quick is a good trigger.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 24/10/2012 21:46

Hi all

Great news on all the lovely scans.

manda, think if you're seeing the consultant that you probably wouldn't expect to see mw as well?? I think my friends who had twins basically only saw the consultant after the initial appt with the mw???
I am well pigged off that after the scan my next appt won't be until after bloody Christmas. It will about finish me off having to wait that long!

House is a total tip, but just can't be bothered to do anything.... Got people coming over on Friday so will have to do something tomorrow night. Procrastination is my middle name....

Not generally a very crafty person, but have bought some stuff so that DD and I can make dome Christmas cards together. If they actually turn out well, I will post some pics on Facebook. Good old Boyes came up trumps with the glitter, glue and general shiny tat! Grin

Em2010 · 24/10/2012 21:55

Ooh ethel you have inspired me! I've got to go into town tomorrow so I may drop into Boyes and steal your idea!! They might sell mitten elastic too... Grin

ood given my history of PE low blood pressure would actually make me quite happy! I think lifting ds around isn't helping!

zoeymlucas · 24/10/2012 21:56

Sorry I havent posted since this morning have been manic doing nothing much but feeling sorry for myself mole removal was ok I have 4 stitches and have been bra less for the rest of the day which with the size of my Norks at mo is a serious health trip hazard. Got to wear a bra tomorrow and as its right where your boob creases at the bottom it's not a great place (where your underwire would normally sit)

Scan was good and not great at the same time!! Baby was perfect and we saw him opening his mouth and swallowing and having a good stretch and then curling up again, and once again had his hands by his face so my DS1 said he looks like he is boxing! He was a bit of a monkey so have 1 good picture and the rest not overly great, and it took a while to get measurements and actually check things! Then the bad side the MW was really rough and 3 times I had to tell her she was hurting me and I couldn't take anymore as she was pushing so hard that I was gritting my teeth and she was just muttering about now running late as baby wouldn't cooperate!!!

Me and hubby finally decided on name and he is now officially Max Steven- the middle name is my dads first name and we are not telling anyone in real life his middle name until he is born and my dad comes to visit as with my dads apnenea he is often over looked ( he forgets a lot some times depending on the sleep he had and it can be frustrating but he means no harm, but my big brother takes it personally and be a bit of a shit)

Glad everyone else had great scans and we all have healthy perfect little babies- March is def a lucky thread :)

I have waddled for ages to but after two hip replacements I think that's expected, but it is getting a lot worse!
2 weeks and a day till next scan as am 20 weeks today, and things went wrong with DS1 from 23 weeks and DS2 from 22 weeks so about to hit the horrible stressy time

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 24/10/2012 22:16

Em, they will probably sell about 25 types! Wink

zoey hope op heals up soon. That's bad of the mw, did she apologise? Glad it was a good result though.

mandasand · 24/10/2012 23:15

Hurray for all those who had fab scans today and good luck for scans tomorrow Pink, Flowery and any others I've missed!

Hermione I too have that wide-eyed amazement that my body just knows what it's doing. It feels (as indeed it is) utterly biological. Feel quite connected with the rest of the universe for once, in a slightly strange way! Loving the bump photoshoot idea!

Em get thee to a nurse for some blood tests! Could you be low in iron or something? Eeek!

Zoey 4 stitches, ouch! Yikes, hope you've got a big pad to cushion the bra tmrw. What a crap sonographer ? not good practice at all.

October I thought for a minute you too were having twins, but then twigged that you already had one boy, hehe!

Happy hols Sundae!

Ethel that's a nice idea. I did some simple ones for a couple of years on the run, but it's hard work! Once, near to xmas I cut out chintzy stuff from Sunday mags and just pasted them on, and then another year I did a white reindeer stamp on black (simples!)

Hamvik I have a definite waddle going on. But osteo showed me how to improve posture (tucking tail in slightly), take smaller steps and all that is helping.

And physio today was good. It's not severe PGP yet, thank goodness. She did some work on me and gave me three lots of exercises - pelvic, stomach and hips - and will see me again in a month unless I need help sooner.

Had a good morning, but flaked out a bit this afternoon after physio. Cold is still there, but apart from extra tiredness brain is definitely more switched on. Hoping for great things tomorrow! Night all Smile

Emus · 25/10/2012 05:58

Yey for all the happy scans today, I remember us all reporting back after our 12 week scans Grin. Loving the team updates too!

Made it to Vegas safely and the upgrade was great :-). There was a medical emergency onboard which I found a bit scary when the flight crew were asking if there were any paramedics or doctors onboard but it wasn't serious enough that we diverted which was something. I held onto my 'baby bump' flabby belly for a bit for comfort!

Since my scan yesterday I definitely feel like I'm feeling stronger movements today but not sure if it's in my head as I could feel nothing yesterday during my scan (although baby didn't move much)! I asked about my placenta and was told that it was anterior but not near the neck of the womb. I googled it this morning and I now know what this means and that it can take longer for me to feel kicks.

Paid for Internet tonight as I wanted to check my work emails must.switch.off so just popped on to say hi. Now to clear up the nail varnish explosion that's happened in my suitcase (it stinks, I think I'm getting high!). Night all/morning all. Grin

sarahs999 · 25/10/2012 06:30

Hey tramp - who's your lovely journo friend? I might know her! Pm me

mandasand · 25/10/2012 07:39

Emus hey to you in Vegas! Perhaps you're feeling stronger movements because you've switched off from work a bit and are more relaxed, in holiday mode? Sometimes I only notice movements when I stop and focus. Yesterday evening mine almost didn't stop moving, which eek may be a sign of things to come, too?! Have FUN!

Sat in bed listening to R4 wondering whether to go back to bed or to try to be productive...

pinkpeony4 · 25/10/2012 07:40

October welcome & congrats on your scan yesterday. I have 3 boys (and expecting a 4th) and they are so sweet together Smile

Hermione congrats on your baby girl. Don't worry about not being a girly girl because gender doesn't mean she will be a stereotypical girl. boys are all v different & my oldest loves clothes & shopping!!!!

Ted fab news on your scan too Smile

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone else who had a scan yesterday. I am on my phone and its v hard to check.

Zoey I hope your stitches are ok and that they don't get rubbed on your bra. Glad your scan went well & love the name Max.

Manda my friend mostly saw the consultant when she was having twins. The midwife apts she did have were rubbish because the midwife wasn't experienced with twins. I get a 24 week apt but only because I am with the homebirth team and you get more apts (not sure why, doesn't exactly seem right) otherwise I would have had to wait until 28 weeks.

Hope everyone else is ok. Enjoy Vegas Emus

I am back home now & thankfully the boys slept later than 5am which is when they were getting up when I was away. I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep last night because I am really worried about my scan but had the best nights sleep of the week Smile. Scan is at 2.30.

I won a lovely Tiffany Rose dress on eBay so fingers crossed it looks nice when it comes. It was a bargain at £50 (£155 new) so I can always resell if it looks terrible!!! Hopefully it will be perfect for the weddings & Christmas parties.

Sheldon did your IO coat arrive? What's it like? I'm still tempted. When does the code expire?

Feeling lots of movement now which is lovely. Visible kicks from the outside when I am lying down too Grin

Flowery good luck for your scan today. What time is it at?

Will update later after my scan.

Have a good day all

pinkpeony4 · 25/10/2012 08:34

Ethel & Em I made Christmas cards with my older boys one year & my kitchen floor still shimmers with glitter Grin

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 25/10/2012 08:51

Think I might make cards with dd3 this year as we will be home a lot . Quite fancy making a handprint Xmas tree but might be ambitious for one child!

sundaesundae · 25/10/2012 09:35

Zoey, can you pop a sanitary towel over the stitches and under your bra, sticky side to bra strap? Should hold in place well and stop the rubbing. Otherwise I have these soft croppy top bras I have lived in so they wouldn't rub.

Ouchy, you poor thing!!

Em yay for vegas!

zoeymlucas · 25/10/2012 10:11

I have padded it out and have my biggest bra on so its sore but not as bad as I thought to be fair and have managed on no pain killers at all :)

Good luck on scans today everyone - hope everything goes well!!

sarahs999 · 25/10/2012 10:43

Just had a scan to see if my short cervix has got any shorter. It hasn't, so that's good. They want me to take part in a trial but I'm a bit meh about it.

Anyway in far more exciting news, I have the date of my caesarean confirmed - 21 feb! Arfhgghghhg! Am feeling really quite freaked out by the matter-of-factness of it all. 17 weeks to go exactly! Grin

zoeymlucas · 25/10/2012 11:24

What was the trial Sarah I am doing the Poppy trial which involved spitting into a test tube till it reached a line, lol! They also can do a swab but I declined that much as I dont want anything messing around in there!

Ooooh how exciting to have it confirmed and all set for you - I wont get mine confirmed till I get to 30 weeks and we can relax abit but I do know it will be a Monday as thats the only day my consultant operates!

Glad your cervix is playing ball and maybe you just have a shorter one than normal?

Sheldonella · 25/10/2012 11:28

Hi everyone, congrats on the good scans yesterday and good luck today flowery and pink. Hope you get some lovely pics :)
I have my blood pressure check this afternoon with the midwife (have to have these every two weeks from now on) and I'm hoping she can tell me when I'll get my MATB1. I'm also totally confused about what appointments I have now so I'm hoping she will help me with that.
sarah a date for your caesarean, how exciting! 17 weeks doesn't seem long at all.
Emus Glad you got to vegas safely. It is lovely that we are all reporting our scan news isn't it. We have all come so far :)
pink Coat not arrived yet, I'm getting impatient! It only got sent yesterday and I went for the cheapest delivery option. I'll report back when it arrives.

Good luck today flowery & Pink

Sarah wow C section date, although now I have visions of me on my lonesome in the thread come the end of March

Myjobis happy birthday to your ds for yesterday

19 weeks today, the size of a beef tomato ???? Must be some tomato, my tummy is massive although, dh thinks I look more pg in my maternity trousers than in my last pair of jeans that just about fit. Although I felt more wriggles in maternity trousers, I thought I would have felt more in my tighter jeansHmm

sarahs999 · 25/10/2012 12:03

Zoey, yes, I did point out that I had a loop excision about 12 years ago and so it was bound to be a bit shorter - its 24mm and the normal line is 25mm or longer, so they're really clutching at straws! Don't know the name of the trial but it's being done by kings to see if wearing a sort of rubber ring around your cervix will stop it opening early. No spitting involved though that sounds lovely....

JoJoBella84 · 25/10/2012 12:07

Should I be concerned that baby is not as active today? Normally if I think I haven't felt him move I drink a bottle of full fat coke and get booted in the right side. Today I have had a couple of tiny flumps but nothing significant.
I do have an anterior placenta so am half wondering if baby has just changed position and the kicks are being cushioned!!

With regards to Christmas creativity I make Christmas crackers every year. We set a budget of £5 per person for a little cracker present and its just a nice little extra treat. Much better than some of the tat you can pay for!! I also have great fun searching for Christmas cracker jokes :)
