I could send you a picture tonight YW if you like ;)

Now awaiting phone call from supervisor of midwives on call.... I'd hate to think what the general public must get if I can't get the support when I'm a bloody midwife myself. Grrrr.

VQ I think I need those bra expander things. My bra feels suddenly tight, and I only got them last week! Also my boobs seem to not be filling the cups either. Hmpf. Not impressed!

NervousAt20 · 09/10/2012 16:55

Shock congratulations in your baby girl donna glad you are both doing okay

catbag I'm sure you'll be soon Grin seems like we have a lot of babies wanting to make an early appearance into the world

lillianna I'm with on the nesting hasn't kicked in Sad I desperately want it too, I just get worn out so quickly but I'm still hoping there's time

stunt if your bad with needles like me, use EMLA cream it is amazing stuff, I used it last time I had bloods and the flu jab and I swear it took like 80% of the pain away

Wow tits could you be next?

detective I vote drive through then you don't need to get dressed, I've done that many times in this pregnancy

PILs are going away tomorrow and they get back about 9-10day before my due date, I've been so mean saying LO could be early, MIL is petrified bless her but I just can't help teasing her, her reactions are hilarious

We're having an Indian tonight Nom Nom Nom

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 16:56

HAHAHA! I just snorted my drink Sophia!

Do I sense that there may be a mass ordering of Dominoes tonight from the pregnant population? Does it help if I remind you it is 2 for 1 Tuesday Grin

I am currently massaging a limb to try and remove it from my left side. It isn't for moving. And it is making me feel nauseous!

NervousAt20 · 09/10/2012 16:56

Any recommendations where to get good nursing bras from ladies?

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 17:01

Depends on your size Nervous! I got mine from m&s in the end, but they aren't that good, its just that they were the only ones that didn't show my nipples, and didn't ride above my cleavage! So I can still wear my regular low cut stuff.

However, H&M had similar for half the price of M&S but I couldn't get the larger size in store, and their online ordering is notoriously shit. The H&M ones did seem good though.

FatimaLovesBread · 09/10/2012 17:01

Just a tip, if you collect at dominoes then its 2 for 1 every day Grin

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 17:03

Also if you collect you could have your order half price with your NHS ID.

Peaky1 · 09/10/2012 17:07

Stop it! I can't be arsed to make anything/nothing appealing in cupboards and I can't be arsed to go out and get anything either!

Haha DP has just come home and I've given my best 'I'm so sweet will you please make me a snack' face and I think it worked

applepieinthesky · 09/10/2012 17:07

Ooh yes detective I forgot it's 2 for 1 tuesday. Temptations!

Peaky1 · 09/10/2012 17:10

:-O So I could get 2 for one AND at half price so making it 75% off?!

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 17:16

Half price cannot be used with any other offer.

FatimaLovesBread · 09/10/2012 17:16

normally you can only use one promotion at once, so either bogof or 1/2 price. Not sue if that's the same with NHS discount though.

I'm going to TGIs for tea

Peaky1 · 09/10/2012 17:21

Boo, nevermind. However, DP has agreed to ordering a Dominoes but I have to wait an hour - YAY!

FatimaLovesBread · 09/10/2012 17:24

Right, rant time.
On 24th August I ordered some nursery things from Vertbaudet. None of them said out of stock or anything.
2 things came the following week but one thing a light shade didn't come. It said on the packing note to follow in 2 weeks. It's now been nearly 7 weeks and no sign of it and no word from them. If I log in and check my order it just says 'to follow'.
A couple of weeks ago I checked whether they were still selling it, you could order it for dispatch in October. Just looked now and it says available from 19th November!
Where is my lightshade?!! Is it not taking the piss a bit to not even inform me that it's not in stock and when it's expected in stock.
I'm going to have to ring them but I can't be arsed, would rather email but there's no contact address. Grrrr!!

NervousAt20 · 09/10/2012 17:26

Please stop I prefer curry to dominos but your all making me want a dominos Sad

FatimaLovesBread · 09/10/2012 17:28

Oooh curry. The one near my sisters does a fab pathia-dansak special, yum

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/10/2012 17:31

apple not til 20th Nov! I'm 34 weeks today, ds was 9 days early so clinging to the hope this one might be too otherwise all your babies will be starting school before I have mine!

MissMummy1 · 09/10/2012 17:42

When I was a student we did dominoes 2 for tuesday. Every single tuesday. For 3 years!!! Usually ended up ordering about 12 pizzas between 10 or so of us, we were practically on first name terms with the delivery drivers!

Now absolutely craving dominoes, but we are having my gran round for steak, brocolli and dauphinoise pots (iron boost needed much?) tonight to celebrate the fact my mum got married today (300 odd miles away!). Would it be unreasonable to order dominoes later on tonight to satisfy my midnight hunger pangs and reminise over my student days with leftovers for breakfast or should I wait and see if the craving is still there next tuesday? Damn you all!!

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 17:54

Not unreasonable at all MM but then I'd never dare tell a pregnant woman that whatever she was suggesting was unreasonable. The men would do well to learn from this motto

Fatima Don't encourage me, or i'll ring Vertbaudet and have a hormonal rant at them myself! I've just seen which one you want, and had a look on eBay, not found anything :( I like this one though which I think goes well with your nursery?

Dixiebell · 09/10/2012 18:01

I'm now regretting the fact I've been working from home all day on my own and missed the opportunity to order myself a sneaky Dominoes!! I used to always get a hot & sour soup and spicy prawns on my way home from work on nights when DH wasn't home. Is it wrong to wish he was staying out tonight? I haven't even cleared DS's breakfast things away yet...

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 18:01

I'm feeling much happier now. Spoke to a supervisor of midwives who has reassured me that staffing is nowhere near as bad as I have been lead to believe, and that I should not be concerned.

She is going to get me the figures for home births called in because of staffing levels. She said she thinks it might be one or two in the last year, or possibly less. She said (before I did!) that staffing levels are not my issue, and that I should not have been left so anxious and concerned that no one would be available when I am in labour.

Basically, I should just not worry. And as soon as my grubby mitts get my hands on a pool tomorrow, I will stop Grin I'll post a pic of me floating away in it Wink I mean it needs a trial run after all...?!

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 18:03

Now all the truths are coming out hahaha! Is it wrong that sometimes me and DS go to McDonalds after school, don't tell DP, and then have our tea anyway?!

And sometimes I hide food in my spare handbags. So no one can find it Grin

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 18:08

With my PFB I would not allow any sweets or choc or juice pass her lips. I told MIL this, and she proceeded to buy her choc at Easter and Christmas. I ate it, to protect her, obviously. I am not so precious with DD2, but have been known to help at Easter as they have so many.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 18:14

Sometimes, I amuse myself at the things I randomly think of.

I am sat here giggling like a toddler. And its utterly ridiculous!

VQ Totally understandable! Grin

jenbird · 09/10/2012 18:22

Can I just ask: why don't my fishcakes ever work?? All the nice crispy bits are now welded to the bottom of the pan and we have lumps of fishy mash for tea. Why why why?
Ggrrrrrr!
