horsey Same here - last monday and last week at work Smile My dog always looks so sad when I go to work and leave him. Usually DP is there because he works completely different times to me but on a monday he leaves before me so I have to go out and leave the dog on his own and I feel so guilty. Glad I'll be home with him from next week.

Candy It was wrong of her to voice her personal opinion which goes completely against the guidelines. Like someone else said, they don't decide to vaccinate a whole group of people on a whim. It is completely your choice but I know that if I didn't have it and then my baby caught whooping cough the guilt would be unbearable. I know several people including young children that have had it recently as well so I think that has convinced me to have it.

Evilwater · 08/10/2012 09:25

Started like a trickle, but wouldn't stop.
Evil

georgee · 08/10/2012 09:31

Congrats evil, Nicholas is a lovely name and he is a beautiful boy. Congrats to thechick too, look forward to getting the details when you're ready!

Just checking in really. Have been reading everything but not having time to post. Also to say I'm getting my WC vaccine this pm, they seem to be fairly clued up now. I was away on hols last week so couldn't do anything about it and was hearing about all the delays in Scotland but phoned this morning and this surgery in Edinburgh seems stocked and willing to give it, phew. Thanks to all those who pushed their surgeries for it, I'm sure it all helps!

33 weeks here. Feel fairly OK (probably because we've just been on hols) - one more week until the bus/train/lorry hits at the 34 week mark!

Have a good day everyone!

Evilwater · 08/10/2012 09:32

Yep, it just wouldn't stop. I managed to wet a whole hand towel, plus it had a few white bits in. The colour changed from a pale yellow to clear with white bits in.

DP reckons he gets his normal pay for paternity leave Hmm I am dubious and budgeting for the minimum they are allowed to pay him because he does have a tendency to get these things wrong. But even if he didn't get paid a penny he still wouldn't be going in.

WaitingForMe · 08/10/2012 09:37

Your babies are adorable Evil and TheChick.

I can't believe you were dancing Liliana! DH and I realised that this weekend might be our last together as we have my stepsons every weekend for the rest of October. So we went out for dinner on Saturday night and it absolutely exhausted me. The food was amazing but I was too tired to stay up and have dessert and asked to be taken home.

DH read the instructions for the TENS machine I bought off a friend last night. Her husband left it until she was in labour which she really didn't recommend. I've been super organised from day one but am amazed at how the weeks are flying by, especially now I get so much less done in a week!

FatimaLovesBread · 08/10/2012 09:37

Evil - Lovely to hear about your gorgeous boys.
Congratulations TheChick!!

I got up in the night for a wee and had awful back ache, felt a bit period pain like. I was a bit worried but I think it might be a culmination of not being able to find comfy sleep positions and maybe my bladder and baby squashing me from the inside.

Got the day off today and then only 8 days to work. Got the builders coming to look at some dodgy brickwork today but not sure what time so I'm going to have to be presentable at all times.
Going to do a bit of fettling if I can manage it, got friends from London coming to stay at the weekend

LittleLolly · 08/10/2012 09:37

Congratulations evil hope the breastfeeding gets easier! Lovely name.

Wow chick congratulations on your surprise arrival too! Hope you and baby are ok.

I'm 37 weeks today, got midwife appointment later. I've got a rash all over my arms and bump and back, it's so itchy! Looks like an allergic reaction to something, but I've never been allergic to anything before!

Wonder when the next baby will arrive

FatimaLovesBread · 08/10/2012 09:42

DH doesn't qualify for paid paternity leave as he changed jobs a couple of months ago. As far as I know he's told them he's taking two weeks off anyway, which i'm presuming will be unpaid unless he can use holidays for some of it.

He keeps saying "I might qualify for SPP" and I keep pointing out that it's a government thing not a work thing, so he definitely doesn't. Whether his company decided to pay him something that's up to them but they don't have to. Don't know why he can't grasp this GrinAngry

FatimaLovesBread · 08/10/2012 09:44

37 weeks!!
I've got ages to go!! Am I the latest one?

[going to go browse the stats list]

applepieinthesky · 08/10/2012 09:46

You're definitely not the last Fatima. I'm only 34+2. If I go overdue I could still have 8 weeks to go! Don't want to think about that.

ValiumQueen · 08/10/2012 09:48

little that rash sounds nasty. Good you are seeing MW.

I had some period pains in the night, like I did when induced with DD1, so I said to DH on waking that I wondered if things were going to kick off, especially with the dampness. He said, rather sharply, that surely I would know by now if I was going into labour. It is my third! Yes, and I was induced with the first, and had an ELCS with the second! I have never gone into labour naturally, but could with this one. He has put on weight recently, always does when I am pg, and feels uncomfy and worried about his health, and how he will manage. Hmm. I have so much sympathy. Not. Grr.

Iheartpasties · 08/10/2012 09:48

whats fettling fatima? :)

ValiumQueen · 08/10/2012 09:49

fatima he is a man. The only thing you can be sure they will grasp is their dick.

Titsalinabumsquash · 08/10/2012 09:49

Nope Fatima I'm 35+3 and praying he comes at 37/38 weeks instead of 40+ Smile

applepieinthesky · 08/10/2012 09:52

I would love to have a couple of weeks at home before baby arrives because that would be a luxury for me but hoping for a Halloween baby.

Iheartpasties · 08/10/2012 09:55

oh yes i am hoping for a halloween baby - also its full moon on the 28th (i think) so maybe a few of us will have babies that night!!!! yippee.

FatimaLovesBread · 08/10/2012 09:56

I'm 33+3!
When I woke up with back ache I thought 'not long now' but then thought it's actually over 6 weeks just to my due date. I'm also hoping for a 37/38 weeker Smile For some reason I seem to think that being an IVF baby it'd have more chance of coming early or on time, although I know this isn't true.

VQ I hope you kicked him in the shins Wink

IHeart Fettling is cleaning. And with that, i'm going to go fettle the bedroom

Iheartpasties · 08/10/2012 09:57

hehe - fettling sounds kinda dirty, but if it's cleaning, then it isnt!!

horseylady · 08/10/2012 10:01

I'm nearly 37. I think I'll go over in all honesty.

No sign of anything starting yet. Quite happy for that to be the case for a short while!! Still not totally sorted with everything!!

Would also like to finish work!!

Passmethecrisps · 08/10/2012 10:16

horsey I am impressed that you are working another week. I am officially on holiday this week and next but I am not certain I could work another week. I am 35+5 today and just want to laze about. Not even sure I have the energy to do the tidying which desperately needs done.

Our sitting room is filled with car seats, baby baths, clothes and so on. There seems no point in moving them upstairs to th baby's room as it is still to be painted and have furniture moved in and out. It is nothing like a nursery and everything like a dumping ground again. I think I will need to jut shift things as I can't properely relax when there is stuff all over the place.

At the weekend we were with PIL while attending a sort of charity gathering thing. I forgot to pack my gaviscon but found some tablets in my bag. Completely stupidly I forgot to then take those with me. I spent the entire evening with a throat full of acid. By 11pm I was having to swallow to stop from being sick. Miserable. Annoyingly, back home last night with a massive bottle at my side and not a single sign of needing - typical.

MissMummy1 · 08/10/2012 10:24

Nope fatima I'm a whole week behind you! 32 +3..... Sad

NervousAt20 · 08/10/2012 10:27

Shock congratulations thechick hope you and baby are both okay!!!

daisy glad your back at home and not in to much pain, hopefully your LO keeps gaining weight and will be joining you very soon

Glad your home evil Smile

Wow lots of babies starting to arrive early! I'm hoping for a Halloween baby too Grin

I'm now on maternity leave!!! So still in bed now but going to drag myself out now

Passmethecrisps · 08/10/2012 10:30

I just saw the thread for May 2013 babies. I remember when that was us. We are all really close even though it doesn't really feel like it.

horseylady · 08/10/2012 10:41

Pass yes another week here, another two weeks if not more at another job.

I feel ok, so happy with my decision. Also I'm on holiday from here next week and the week after!! So maternity doesn't start till the 28th for me. Think ill be 39+4 then.

It's my first so will prob be late!!
