Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

HI Everyone

Jersey - I think Ryan colin sounds good but it depends on your surname. My DH has just peeked over my shoulder and mentioned about the initials 'RC' then your surname. RC sounds a bit rude. This may be a problem in the future, you know what kids are like. Trust him to be practical like that Grin

maewest · 03/04/2006 20:10

Haven't bought anything yet, trying to sort out the study (otherwise known as DH's den) for a nursery. No idea about themes, might just use the yellow paint left over from the kitchen (unisex! and nice and sunny!), and drag out the sewing machine to run up some curtains - which are about my limit sewingwise.

As for names, I really like Daniel, but sadly the name of an old flame of mine, so prob best not Grin We like Noah James for a boy and Bethany Katherine for a girl, but it feels such a responsibility to be deciding a name that a person has to carry around for life.

HumphreysCorner · 03/04/2006 20:32

Hi girls

Just a quickie as knackered and need to sit down. The girl at work due 1st June is 7 sheets of loo roll Shock.

Catch up later

Kayzed, I just wrapped a toilet roll round the fattest part of me, although I'm not sure if this is what everyone else did. I'm hoping I got it wrong coz I was sooo big Grin. Love the name Bethany - it is really pretty!

deblaca · 03/04/2006 22:13

evening ladies
well i've had a manic day - spent 3 hours in the hospital having a GTT (boring) but afterwards i had to run (well walk briskly) back to my car because i knew the meter had run out, half way there (up hill) i saw the parking guy so i had to resort to shouting at him whilst pointing at my belly - no ticket hehe handy sometimes to pay the pregnancy car!
names - still haven't a clue but i perfer Daniel (jersey) and Noah (maewest) was our name of choice before we got pregnant but now one of our b-friends have named their son it
and wallace snow that's just wrong, surely!

bumpybel · 03/04/2006 22:47

Evening girls!

Deblaca... like the use of the old bump to avoid a ticket! I stick mine out in tesco when its busy to get a clear run through the aisles!

Kayzed... how many sheets were you? I'm not far off ten now.

Jersey... Daniel and Ryan are both lovely names... i dont think you'd go wrong with either.

Has anyone else had bleeding gums? Have got dentist appt soon, as teeth are well sensitive and it sort of giving me earache too... apart form that... feeling quite sprightly!

Love to all x

jersey · 04/04/2006 07:57

Morning

Wallace the base should fit and Graco car seat and it means you can just click the seat into it, press the button and lift the seat out without having to mess around with the seat belt every time.

We had 2 last time but giving one and car seat to in laws when they are child minding. This time we got a Jane powertwin which came with a car seat.

I probably shouldn't say but our surname is Harrison so name be either Daniel Colin Harrison or Ryan Colin Harrison.
If you look on ebay the grey/silver car base's for Graco car seats are the same as ours.

Not sure how much it would be to post but if you are interested I can findout for you.

jersey · 04/04/2006 08:27

Bumpybel I have bleeding gums as well! Also had them last time and sensitive teeth. My dentist told me to expect this and it will go away when the baby is born.

Wallace · 04/04/2006 08:39

glad things are looking up a bit lilliana :)

jersey - thank you very much, I think it will be perfect. Did you want anything for it? (as well as postage I mean) When you find out how much postage is, I can send you a cheque :)

Still snowy and cold here, but at least it is sunny now.

spub · 04/04/2006 08:46

Morning all,
Bumpy - I'm pushing 10 squares of loo roll as well! But hey, we are amongst the early birds on this thread.....
How's everyone?

jersey · 04/04/2006 10:08

Hi Wallace

I will dig it out tonight for you and get it weighted. I have just had a look on ebay at the prices they are selling and there is one going today at £11+p&p. How about £10 plus p&p as it cost £30 orignially. This one is hardly used as we had one in each car and most of the time used my DH's car.

If everything is ok can you email me your address ([email protected]) and when the cheque arrives I will post it to you.

puddytat99 · 04/04/2006 10:24

Hi everyone

Feeling totally shattered this morning. Had a bad night with the old sciatica. Going swimming at lunchtime, so hope that will help ease it. I've got to finish an assignment by tomorrow and almost there, so will need to sit at the computer for the rest of the afternoon.

Can't wait for the end of the week, 2 weeks off work beacuse of Easter. Then when I go back only 5 weeks before I stop (26 May). When is everyone else finishing?

Twirl - Done the loo roll test the same way, I'm just over 8 squares. I too like Bethany. The problem with working in a school is you get to know some weird and wonderful children. So picking a name for this one has been hard, as all the ones DH likes I know a child with that name who isn't the nicest one!!! (Trying to be tactfull there).

Hope you all have a great day and if the sun is shining your way, managing to get out and enjoy it.

dangirl · 04/04/2006 10:57

Morning ladiesSmile

Had the most fantastic w/e away witk DH. Feeling all relaxed and loved up at the moment.
Made it all the better that DD also had fab time with grandparents and cousins so didn't miss us at all.

26+3Smile
Have another appointment in premature clinic tomorrow. Fingers x-ed everything will look good at cervical scan. If it does then we are really looking good and feeling rather confident!

Liliana - glad to hear things are more positive. Chill out (as much as you can with your little ones)

Haven't done the loo role test for about a week now. Must do later todaySmile

hugs,Dangirl

agalch · 04/04/2006 11:46

Just nipping in in my lunch break, before going off to what promises to be a very dull meeting. Counted up days left at work and I'm looking at 50 days between now and end of June (taking out hols/training etc). Can't wait! Really do like my job, but my mind is on other things.

Haven't got the loo roll out recently, must do tonight.

Wallace · 04/04/2006 15:57

Thanks jersey, have sent email :)

agalch - Yes we are in scotland. How long do your kids get for Easter? Ours are back on Wednesday 19th.

deblaca · 04/04/2006 16:12

agalch - my glucose was ever so slightly high at my booking in appt so consultant decided to have a glucose tolerance test - i had to fast from midnight, go to hospital for 9.30am to have a blood test, then have a glucose load ie drink a glucose drink (not prescribed kazed - thats ridculous) but yuck all the same, followed by another blood test one hour later and a third blood test another hour later (so alot of hanging around reading out-of-date "Closers" - btw who really gives a sh*t about Jordon?? grrrrr)
good to hear from you lilliana
jersey - you've got a little home industry going on here - hehe - will post your chq today
8.5 pieces - 26+3 today

hi again

i think i'm addicted to mumsnet eeek!!

wallace my 2 go back on the 24th but we fly home late on the 25th so they will go back on the 27thBlush.They are off Monday and Tuesday the next week for May Day hols so feel a bit awkward keeping them off 3 extra days.We definitley wont get a holiday next year and we havn't had a holiday since 2003 so felt we had to just book it lol

deblaca i have to have a GTT only because there was a big difference in my my dd's birthweight compared to my boys.As far as i know i am only having a simple blood test with my mw at a routine ante natal at 28 wks.Maybe i'll have to do what you have done if it is a positive result for glucose.Oh well i'll just have to wait and see.Praying its normal and i can plan for my homebirth.

Kayzed my dd pokes and prods and pats my bump but not always gently.Shes only 20 months and doesn't really get it i don't think. If i ask her whats in my tummy she says baby and says that about her tummy too.The poor wee thing will be black and blue when it's born.

kbaby · 04/04/2006 20:47

Ive been looking on ebay to get a 2nd hand crib and a bouncy chair. How comes I never get a bargain. so far everything ive bid on ive been outbid and the price its gone for is only £2.00 less than the shop price for brand new!!! why do people pay brand new shop price for 2nd hand things! The only thing ive bought so far is a changing mat. I need to get motivated.

maewest - I like Noah, I saw a film a while back and the bloke was called it.

I prefer Ryan to Daniel(Jersey).

bumpybel - Ive had bleeding gums for ages. Ive bought some mouthwash called corsodyl which is really good and ok on pregnancy.

DD keeps pulling up my top to look at the baby regardless of where we are. She also has to lay with her head on it but this is after much elbow digging and wriggling. The poor baby doesnt get any peace and its not born yet.

You all seem so much further on than me. Ive got ages until I finish work at end of June.
