Thought I would start the thread.

HC Sorry that our MIL is like that. I guess theres not much you can do apart from telling DH to stick up fo you. My Mil is ok but has her odd ways. She was against me bfing and was determined with DD that she would be dressed in pink frilly dresses. Soon put a stop to all that and I just used to ignore her comments.

The kicks argetting a lot stronger now. They are still fairly low down and sometimes in my bladder.

Im glad im not the only one breaking wind like a trooper. Im almost afraid to bend over in work Blush

Im hoping to go back to work 3 1/2 possibly 4 days a week. Im going to put DD in nursery 2/3 mornings but mil will have both the rest of the time. Id love to do less but when I work out how much id lose its shocking and weve just extended our morgage for the extension. The other option ive got is to work in the call centre and do shifts but I dont fancy the weekend shifts. Im too frightened to tell my mnagaer yet.

Kbaby I also finish end of June when I will be 37 weeks. Did the t-roll test this morning and I am 8.5 sheets. Will test again tonight as always bigger at night (its all that food I eat Blush!).

Wallace double checking today on postage and will email you later.

Thanks Straightforward, every little helps.

Havng a panic as no savings at the moment so trying to kill 2 birds by having a clear out and raising some cash as well!

maewest · 05/04/2006 08:16

deblaca - I haven't bought anything either, partly because I don't want to get sucked into the 'buying loads of stuff' thing, and partly because I'm a bit lazy Blush DH and I have been taking time to laze around on our weekends, as we won't have the chance to when bub arrives! Also its a first baby (new grandparents on both sides) and I'm sure that we'll get given lots of things.

HumphreysCorner · 05/04/2006 09:28

Morning ladies

Off swimming so will be back later. Bought this new cossie from Mothercare a month or so ago and now it keeps going up my bottom-ouch!

Hope you are all well.

I haven't bought a thing and I also finish at the end of June. Need to stock up on nappies and a few bits I suppose (moses basket etc) but other than that I reckon I'm completely sorted from having DS, as I know I'm having another boy.....can even use all the same hospital sstuff as before as I bought all new and haven't touched it since! Must remember to take towels this time, forgot last time.

Gorgeous day here in sunny Hampshire. Made the mistake of letting DS take a balloon in the car to nursery and then all hell broke loose when I took it off him in the room. Bad mummy.

Went into the office yesterday, got actual gasps from people at the sight of me "Oh my god you're even bigger than you were the last time I saw you!" Er, YEAH! I'm pregnant? You know, having a baby? Up the duff? Bun in oven? They get bigger as you get more pregnant you know, strange but true!!

Had a coffee in M&S with my cousin yesterday, who has a 10 week old baby boy who is scrumptious. I'm sure they all thought she was his nanny, she is skinnier than she has ever been! Lost three stone during her pregnancy! Imagine having to eat cake straight after having a baby to GAIN weight..... I of course couldn't stand by and let her eat a slab of cappuchino cake without giving her my full support so had to have one too....

Bloke in the queue behind me was getting RIGHT in my personal space, every time I moved I bumped him, I was like GRRRRRRR! It was really pissing me off, I was so close to turning around and asking him to take 3 paces back. "Step AWAAAY from the fat one!!" That is definitely a pregnancy thing I reckon.

Right, ought to crack on/read the rest of Mumsnet, love to all.

Blossom.

Hi ladies,
How are you all? Well and blooming I hope :)
Sorry I've not been on for a while but I've been in hospital for a week :(
Got admitted last Tuesday in severe pain in my upper abdomen and shoulder ...I've never known anything like it- it was agony. They gave me diamorphine which didn't quite shift it. Anyway I had scans and xrays and was prodded about and the upshot of it is that the baby's fine but they think I had an inflamed gallbladder. They whacked me full of painkillers and IV antibiotics and it seemed to do the trick. They let me out on Monday afternoon with another weeks worth of AB's to take. They've said I can't go to spain as planned on Friday :( but if I'm still ok by the middle of next week I can go then ...so keep your fingers crossed for me

IamBlossom · 05/04/2006 09:54

Oh god poor you Aggie, what a horrble thing! And such a shame about your hols, what a drag! hope you feel better very soon...

Morning ladies

Aggipanther - so sorry to hear you have been feeling unwell. Poor thingSad inflamed gallbladders can be very painful and potentially dangerous so look out for your self will you?!

Kayzed - still getting a number of BH despite getting progesterone every day. They are not painful but I am very aware of them. Haven't been counting just how many but sometimes it is several an hour.
My app is not until 4 pm. Hopefully still a nice long cervixWink

I haven't bought anything as of yet.
I actually think that I have pretty much everything I need From 4 years ago. Will of course need some nappies, nice new baby clothes etc. But nothing major. Counting on breast feeding so no need for anything in the feeding department either.
We do have all our baby stuff in storage though. Should probably get it out fairly soon to sort through it. As someone mentioned - we will be to naggered the last few weeks to do any of this stuffSmile

Have a nice day all!

AggiePanther · 05/04/2006 10:20

Thanks blossom and dangirl - don't worry dangirl I am looking out for myself -or rather dp is, I'm not allowed to do anything, if I try he just shouts 'will you sit the f* down and relax' - his mother said to tell me that if I don't sit down she'll be on the next train up to nail my feet to the floor!! Grin They have a lovely way with words - but I feel very cared for.

As for things for the baby I've got quite a few bits - it's 11 years since DD was born so apart from the cot which is still in the attic I've got nothing - my brother is giving me his pram, but we've bought a car seat. DP's mum and dad have bought a high chair and his sister has bought a monitor and baby carrier, his godmother has bought a travelcot (so we can visit lots) - they've all been really generous. We've also bought a tummy tub (have you seen the \link{www.tummytub.co.uk\website} they look sooo cute) and I've bought a few different types of cloth nappies to have a play with on DD's 'baby annabel' to see which we like best before splashing out, cos I've never used them before. Anyone else trying reusables this time?

AggiePanther · 05/04/2006 10:22

That link didn't work ..hang on
\link{http://www.tummytub.co.uk\try this}

Annie29 · 05/04/2006 11:02

Mornin' all.

Aggie, sorry to hear about your pain, I hope you get better soon, I'm sure your DP will look after you!! Take it easy and hope you get to go on your hols.

We haven't bought anything at all either. It's only just been a year since DS was born (nearly!) so we still have everything stored in the in-laws loft (means a trip up north to get it though). I suppose I should get some less boyish clothes though!! Oh and we need a new car seat for DS so new babs can have his one. To all ye first-timers, don't bother to buy any clothes apart from vests and sleepsuits, you will get loads of stuff as presents, even from people you hardly know! DS is nearly one, and I still haven't bought him anything myself!

Think I've been getting some Braxton Hiccups too, but I'm not sure as I didn't get them last time.

I finish end of June as well, at 38 weeks, but will probably skive off early like I did last time. Use up annual leave. Not that I actually do any work when I'm here. I'm hoping to get away with another 12 weeks of that!!

Hope everyone is having a good sunny day, with lots of baby kicks

Annie (25+6)

Annie29 · 05/04/2006 11:05

Dangirl, good luck with your appointment today. Smile

puddytat99 · 05/04/2006 11:27

Hi everyone

Another sunny day here in the Midlands.

Aggie - Take care of yourself and rest while you can. We're in the same boat as you, it's been almost 12 years since DS was born and we didn't have anything, so had to start from scratch again. A friend of mine had a baby last summer and has given loads of her things as she had loads bought by family, etc. (2 moses baskets, bouncy chairs, etc) one lot was never used, so has sent them our way. She's coming round this afternoon with more bits, so can see DH playing when he gets home. When will you know about your holiday?

Had a great time at swimming yesterday, even though the pool was cold. Really helps me to sleep at night. One of the group had her baby on Saturday, a little girl. And someone I work with became a Gran last night. So babies appearing all around me now.

Hope you all have a good day.

jersey · 05/04/2006 11:55

hi puddy I'm in the midlands as well and strangly enough I know of someone who became a Gran last night as well. Spokey!!!!

deblaca · 05/04/2006 12:41

hi all
Aggie sorry to hear about your hospital visit - you put your feet up and rest - (btw we plan to use reuseables too but i'm not going to give myself a hard time if they don't work out, will have to use biodegradable disposable instead)
Dangirl - i hope that cervix is nice and long!
I've just come back from my GP - had an emergency appointment after getting myself into a 'state' because I had convinced myself I hadn't felt the baby move for a day - but all's well, heard a stong heart beat and heard lots of kicks/movements - feel reassured and have felt some little movements since (feel a bit of a fraud and slightly neurotic now, particularly when I read some of the drama's you all have been through!)
Also good to heard you've not all been in a buying frenzy - altho i think we'll have to get a move on as first timers everything needs getting.
Anyway its a beautiful day - so must try to enjoy it. Have my aqua aerobics today - mmm lovely.
xx

agalch · 05/04/2006 12:55

Hi girls

I am planning to work until end of June or mid July as i am self employed as a childminder.I am entitles to 6 months off at 106 pounds per week so i want to have as much time with my new baby and dd who will be just 2yrs as poss after the birth.

Have decided not to buy a moses basket this time as i feel dd may be able to knock it over or be poking baby. Will use my travel cot downstairs and buying a cheapy cot(60 pounds) from Mothercare for upstairs at bedtime.
Have a Maclaren rally twin (used once for childminding)but its not suitable for a newborn so may buy another twin buggy.DD will only be 2 so a bit young to want to walk everywhere i think.
Have also been stocking up on maternity pads, breast pads, nappies of the 1st 2 sizes, and few white babygros and vests cos we don't know what baby is.

Iamblossom I hate people getting too close when i'm pg,same thing happened to me and i eventually asked the guy to MOVE BACK!! I was so Blush but he apologised and moved pretty quick.Must be mother instinct kicking in before they are even born.

Take care everyone and look after yourselves.

Wallace · 05/04/2006 14:53

Poor you AP, I hope yuor holiday works out.

Good luck dangirl for your appontment.

Don't feel embarrased deblaca, I was getting worried a week or so ago about not feeling movemnet, it is worrying, and it is better to get it checked out than not. Glad baby is fine :)

bumpybel · 05/04/2006 15:25

Afternoon ladies!

Am sooooo forgetful these days... forgetting really simple things and trailing off mid conversation. Am off sick with what turned out to be ear infection. I had conviced myself that my bleeding gims and sensitive teeth had given me earache, when infact I also have an ear infection. Am on low dose antibiotics. Saw the midwife yesterday who decided to take blood for that glucose thing from me. She also measured my tummy and it had leapt up that graph, to way way beyond where it should be. She said it could be because the other midwife had measured from a different point last time and that if it is still so massive next time, she'll pop me off for a scan. I know I'm in line for a long baby, as I'm 5'11 and DH is 6'2, but at this rate i'm going to have a giraffe!

Aggie... really sorry to hear youve been so poorly. Hope youre starting to feel a bit more human now. Sending gloopy ear infested hugs! Smile

Blossom.. laughed at your 'too close man in queue' story. Why not try a fake backwards stumble next time, with a good heel full of mother and baby weight piling onto one of his feet?!!... or if you can muster one, a bit of erm bottom gas! (couldnt type fart!)

I've got quite a bit of hosp bag stuff now... but still no cot or cute curtains, changing mat, sling, nappies, bottles, steriliser... argh!.. must shop.....

Think have gottwelve weeks in work. Going to attempt to go up to the week before!

Kayzed...!

Sounds like you need to put your favourite CD on really loud and have a shouty sing along! Grin ... or type a nasty email to the bus company! Get the man the sack... go on!!!

deblaca · 05/04/2006 16:36

thanks wallace
kayzed what about a buggy board

Wallace · 05/04/2006 17:19

LOL kayzed your ds is heavier than my dd...she is such a tiny thing - she will be 5 in June and is only 15kg! She too would still use the buggy if I let her, and still asks even though she hasn't been in it since last June (she hasn't noticed that I threw it away either!)

Those who are owndering about twin buggies/ buggyboards etc, ds was almost 2 when dd was born, and we managed fine. If it was a long walk dd would go in a sling, and ds in the buggy.
