sleeping is awful. i almost dread going bed!!!! ive started going sleep on the sofa after ive dropped my guy off at work. its surprisinglly comfy.

on the shoe front im wearing nothing but already done up trainers i can slip straight into or ballet flats.

bealos · 08/11/2012 09:28

Hi complicated to sympathise, I get nosebleeds too. Nothing you can do I'm afraid just another one of those wonderful side effects!

SquealyB · 08/11/2012 11:08

complicated and bealos I had no idea nosebleeds were a pregnancy side effect. There are so many delightful ones though, I am not surprised. Can see how it would be very frustrating.

On the shoes, its ballet pumps or zip up boots all the way for me at the moment. Starting to get a bit chilly and wet for the pumps though....

Had a major baby brain incident this morning when I managed to put my iphone in the washing machine. Realised when I was leaving the house for work and could not find me phone and then thought isn't the washing machine making a funny noise Blush! Phone is dead but luckily covered by insurance (thank god). Have added the £50 excess to baby spreadsheet as definitely a pregnancy related cost Grin. Oh well.....

SpringFlowers · 08/11/2012 12:42

Hello Smile It's ages since I posted but I have been lurking for a while. I can't believe we are getting so close to the end already!

Squealy I am with you on the ballet pumps but my boots (which I love) were a narrow fit and I am finding it increasingly difficult to do them up around my calves Blush. I?ve laundered an iphone before, I wasn?t pregnant though, just dizzy!

Lora I am fine going to bed but as soon as I need to turn over it?s a disaster, my hips are so painful now. I find myself awake and unable to get comfy or go back to sleep.

salt constipation is horrid and you have my sympathy. In my previous pregnancies it has been awful. I?ve been luckier this time and am so relieved. Grapes always worked for me eventually, but I had to eat a lot and it took 24 hours to get them through my system.

Regarding the baby?s movements, I haven?t ever noted anything down but somehow if the baby is more quiet than normal I seem to have noticed. I think what is most important is that you seek advice if things are different for you to how they usually are.

bealos · 08/11/2012 13:02

Re. constipation.... are you taking Pregnacare multi-vits? I took these last pregnancy and had terrible constipation. This time, am taking a different type. Just a thought.

There is such a thing as 'non constipating iron' apparently.

AppleCrumples · 08/11/2012 13:40

Hello all

I do have ballet pumps but I get cold easily and love my boots too! So will just continue to huff and puff everytime I put them on :)

on the constipation I've been taking ferroglobin as I have trouble with tablets and that's supposed to be non-constipating. Ds1 had a problem with constipation a while ago and we were told to drink vast quantities of orange juice which worked for him. Its grim though isn't it?

spring your everywhere today Grin

dieciocho · 08/11/2012 14:04

I'm taking Pregnacare. Bugger, I've just stocked up with enough to see me through to the end of this journey - I wonder if the pharmacy would give me a refund!?

SpringFlowers · 08/11/2012 14:53

I have taken pregnacare through all of my pregnancies and have had, and not had, constipation so for me it's not that. I think everything just slows up. I am also taking Floradix as I am anaemic.

bealos · 08/11/2012 15:19

So there you go... every person is different!

Floradix is really good for iron, I agree.

allchik · 08/11/2012 16:13

Hi everyone, with you on the shoe front. Spent a fortune on nice knee high boots last winter which I doubt Ill get to wear for a while as bending over is such a mission! The only way i can manage it is by sort of making a weird exhale/grunt noise as I bend down....this is so second nature to me and hubs that I dont realise what it looks like to other people....so got some very odd looks in Dorothy Perkins when trying on pumps, everyone was glancing over at my weird noises lol.

Qute odd at school at the mo as just kind of getting all my lessons in order ready for my maternity cover to start in january, really weird thinking that when I break up at Christmas thats me done untill September eeek! Cant bloody wait. Have also got our names down at some nurseries already as they book up so fast.....that was weird visiting baby rooms and thinking 'I'll have one of them soon!!!!!'

Happy almost friday everyone xxx

ps - has anyone packed their hospital bag yet?????

Birdies · 08/11/2012 17:08

I haven't done mine yet allchik but I keep meaning to.

Has anyone washed baby's clothes yet? If not, when are you planning to do it? I dont want to wsh them now if it means I end up doing them all again but I need some foe hospital bag.

AppleCrumples · 08/11/2012 19:58

allchik so far all I have done is find the bag I'm gonna use :). As it was hiding at the back of a wardrobe it needs cleaning first. I'm going to wash stuff as I put it in the bag. But haven't got that far yet can't quite believe we're close enough to actually pack ready for bubs.

On the movements baby has been having a little party today! Stuck something out of the top of my bump and left it there Shock stretching my skin even more. It really hurt, I was yelping and trying to push it back in oww!

Complicated24 · 08/11/2012 20:36

allchik I'm going to pack mine when I finish work in 2 weeks time. Will go out and buy toiletries, big knickers, nappies etc this weekend. I'm going to be induced at 39 weeks and haven't got a clue how long that will take so suppose I need to pack for a few days. What's everyone planning on wearing for labour? A nightie/t-shirt. All a bit of an unknown quantity this.

theboutiquemummy · 08/11/2012 21:16

Hi lovelies with you on being constipated I'm on the ferraglobin n pooing well thankfully but it was bad really bad on the pregnacare

Started on hospital bags n spare keys n emergency plans for the animals Grin

Anyone feeling fit to pop yet my belly seems to be running out of room n I'm starting to see lumps coming to the surface of my tummy

As for sleep what's that Sad

Birdies · 08/11/2012 21:34

theboutique yes me too! And in the last couple of days I have to be literally pulled off the sofa by DH as I can't bend to get up! And tummy is moving around constantly. I'm properly waddling now.

Anyone else getting fanjo kicks when they wee?! I know it sounds a bit weird but when I go to the loo I get like a pop and it must be a kick but it feels quite weird! I know I've had a baby before but I had an anterior placenta last time so all these strong movements are new to me. It's quite fun!

No one washed baby clothes yet? I might wash the ones for hospital bag and maybe wait to do the rest. I probably don't need to though as most were DDs from when she was teeny but I fancy having everything freshly washed again.

BuntyCollocks · 08/11/2012 21:47

I've washed all the newborn and up to a month stuff. Hospital bags are underway although I still have some bits to pack/get.

SpringFlowers · 08/11/2012 22:03

I haven't bought anything let alone started to think about packing. I really must get on with it now - 30 weeks tomorrow. In labour last time I wore a vest and for the early part pants. It wasn't pretty but I was hot and annoyed by fabric (?) - and I didn't care. I must get the baby clothes out of the loft and see if I have any neutral ones.

I think my anaemia might be getting worse, I'm feeling ropey thus evening.

Tugstonia · 08/11/2012 22:04

My hospital bag is underway too with a few more bits to get.

Anyone else got/had itchy nipples?! My left nipple is excruciatingly itchy & driving me mental!!

Tugstonia · 09/11/2012 04:42

Awake at 3am & can't sleep... Anyone else??

woody2313 · 09/11/2012 06:14

Hi Tugs, I've been awake since 3.30 am... Worked a 14 hour day yesterday that included a trip to the maternity unit to check on baby after lack of movement for 24 hours (everything absolutely fine luckily Smile) - surely I should have been able to sleep for hours?! Confused

Tugstonia · 09/11/2012 06:37

Woody I feel your pain! God, 14 hour day sounds hideous, hope you will get a chance for a nap/rest later today at some point? I often find if I'm having a really busy day I don't notice movements as much. Very glad you got checked out and baby is all fine :)

woody2313 · 09/11/2012 06:41

Thanks Tugs. Hope you manage to catch up on your sleep later too. Isn't this the time when we are supposed to be making the most of having time to sleep ? [hmmm]

Tugstonia · 09/11/2012 07:06

Thanks, me too! Yes everyone keeps telling me to sleep as much as possible now - if only!

SpringFlowers · 09/11/2012 09:39

Tugs We were awake between 11 and 2am. Shattered today and for the first time I am actually in pj's and on the sofa. This is unheard of for me. Will you be able to rest at all today? Although it's probably not that likely itchy nipples could be thrush. I have had nipple thrush this pregnancy and it's a good idea to get rid of it as when breastfeeding it transfers to the baby's mouth - then it's much harder to get rid of and very uncomfortable.

I've already been to the doctors today. I knew I was getting too much pain not to have spd and I do indeed have it. Lovely. I've also had my bloods taken again as I feel very anaemic, just exhausted and light-headed. Not myself at all. I've started guzzling floradix along with my usual vitamins.

Woody Your 14 hour day sounds exhausting. I'm glad your baby is ok, lack of movements are such a worry.

salt1 · 09/11/2012 10:41

hello all, my sympathies with those not sleeping, not pooing and generally feeling crap. my constipation has improved thankfully, not sure what the cause is apart from just a symptom of pregnancy. i went to pregnancy yoga yesterday and an embarassing little trump came out when changing positions. i did not sleep well last night so i think todays swim is now cancelled x
