Thanks Bella. How do you cry in cyberspace? Sad Sad Sad

Sorry to lower the tone of a happy thread. Still, my baby is alive and not in danger whilst inside.

Bella23 · 09/05/2006 10:15

God don't mention lowering the tone.......poor you, its everyone's worst nightmare. All of us on this thread understand and I'm sure are all so sorry that you are having to go through this. Sounds like there is hope though so will keep you in my thoughts and pray for a happy ending xx

If you want to talk to women that have been going through worrying scan results aswell, on my sister thread, pg after mc, a woman there is going through it at the mo (Arabica) and of course there's poor Emkana who's been posting regularly in the lobby. Thinking of you hun & remember we're here if you need us xxxxxx

compo · 09/05/2006 11:42

Oh {{{{{{{{Homemama}}}}}}}, I am v sad just thinking about you worrying for the next six weeks and the uncertainty on top of all the sickness you've endured to date. It makes me want to yell "its not fair !" loudly on your behalf.

We understand if you don't want to post lots about it but we are all thinking of you and your dh and wishing you well.

Coriander73 · 09/05/2006 12:46

We're all thinking of you HM

mandaz · 09/05/2006 13:59

Homemamma - so sorry to hear that your scan didn't go so well. I hope and pray that all will be fine {{{{hugs}}}}.

Marls - Thanks for the kind thoughts. I've just had divorce petition through so think that'll put the cat amongst the pigeons. To be honest, I just don't care any more - he can't hurt me more than he already has and I just want to get on with my life now.

Mabel - I have no idea which are weeds and which are prize winning plants either. My Dad introduced me to the idea of growing veg in tubs. It's fantastic as I don't have to worry about digging up expensive plants and they're easy to use etc. I think it'll be great for me in future as I doubt I'll have a huge amount of time or space to garden but can still keep my hand in. Can't wait to start eating the veggies now! I feel like I have far too much time on my hands at the moment Smile

Marls001 · 09/05/2006 14:58

Homemama, I'll be thinking of you. I am so sorry. Sad My heart goes out to you; could have been any of us, as we all know. We are all in the same boat.

I am really, really hoping the next scan will have better news for you. Smile

Bella - Best just to line up your resources now! Mum & MIL, for starters. Other than than, don't think about it. Wink
I'm in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, kind of an undiscovered country I think - most people would consider it the middle of nowhere since it's not on the coasts. But to live here is incredible. It is just so breathtaking right now.

Marls001 · 09/05/2006 15:00

Manda - That attitude is so healthy; congrats on moving on!! You go, girl! You'll continue to be in my thoughts. Smile

Woodelf · 09/05/2006 16:44

Homemama, {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and here's hoping things look up. We're all here to provide support whatever the heck goes on out there!

Bella23 · 10/05/2006 09:37

Morning people

How is everybody?

I had a lovely evening last night with the girlies for a birthday but I swear even without any booze I feel a bit hungover this morning just because I didn't get to bed until 11:30. These days that's really late as I'm usually dead to the world from about 10pm!!

Bump definately feeling big this morning, must be having a growth spurt this week I reckon.

Well best crack on with some work..........I so can't wait for maternity leave!!Grin

mabel1973 · 10/05/2006 10:38

Hi all

Bella I have had a growth spurt in the last couple of weeks, I've gone from thinking I look fat to having a couple of strangers asking me when I'm due - so that must mean I officially look pregnant!
I forgot to mention, in case anyone hasn't seem it, that Boots are doing newborn nappies (own brand) for 99p, but it ends today!
(BTW Boots nappies are made by kimberly clark who make huggies, but I can't tell you how I know that! Wink )
I got 3 packs yesterday as there is no way I'm doing cloth nappies until I am in some kind of routine and at least know what day it is!

mandaz · 10/05/2006 11:27

Hi all

I too am shattered by 10pm. I tried to stay up to watch tv last night but had to call it a day when I kept nodding off and snoring all the way through it! Grin

Has anyone else found that the area of their ribs and just below is swelling up too? That's actually grown more than my belly! I believe that things start to move up around now so I assume it's to do with that.

I haven't bought any nappies yet but I got a free one in my Bounty pack. I couldn't get over how small it is! It's so cute.

mabel1973 · 10/05/2006 11:50

Mandaz - your ribs do move when you're pregnant, they get pushed out. In fact I read an article about a maternity 'nurse' that all the celebs use and she advises them to bind themselves up after the birth to push their ribs back in to position!!!

On the nappies front, think this might have already been mentioned, but join the Pampers club on line and they will send you free nappies and vouchers.

compo · 10/05/2006 12:43

Hi everyone. I feel massive now too - goodness knows what I'll look like come August/September!! I've put on about a stone and 2 stone is average so have to make sure it's only another one!!

Good afternoon all, just got back from scan and all is well, lo kept opening and closing its mouth, sonographer could get a clear picture of spine so I had to g for a 10 min walk to see if it would move, it didn't lol she was just saying that i would have to come back to have its spine scanned when the lo moved at the last moment lol. DS and DSD loved seeing the scan.

I'm showing tons too but the funny thing is i have only put on two pounds on but 3inches on round waist.

Hope you are all well, got to go as DH is loosing his rag with DS pop up tents lol, speak later

Marls001 · 10/05/2006 17:44

Compo - Have gained 1/2 my weight also at this point, but that's okay!

Read somewhere that for a healthy 32-pound (14.5 kg) pregnancy gain, it's: First 4 pounds (1.8 kg) come on during 1st trimester (weeks 1-12). Then one pound per week comes on thereafter.

At 23 weeks right now, I'm right on target, having gained 15 pounds (6.8 kg). I figure if I just end up gaining under 40 (18.2 kg) I'll be good.

Gained exactly 30 (13.6) last time. Came off again in 6 months!

Don't expect it to come off as quickly this 2nd time around, but it will come off.
Considering I'm starting every meal with cookies, ending every day with ice cream, and eating candy like a food group Grin, am certainly enjoying this weight gain. Grin Won't be able to eat like this again day-to-day guilt-free.

TopBanana · 10/05/2006 17:48

Hi, hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather Smile

Congrats on the scan puppy Grin So I'm guessing you didn't want to know the sex?

I'm sorry homemama, I don't know what to say Sad I hope everything is ok.

I was talking to a lady yesterday who told me she wasn't as big as me when she was 8 months!!
Dd has given me a terrible cough and cold. She seems to come home with them every other week now shes at nursery.
I'm starting to worry about how she will handle a new baby, she gets so jealous and I really don't want to upset her. Any tips? Smile

puppy · 10/05/2006 18:02

Topbanana, I worry abit how ds will react once baby is here, The only things I can come up with is to get ds involved ie helping bathing feeding etc. I'm also planning on getting a present for ds and dsd from the baby to help prevent any negative feelings, but would be interested on what others that have gone through it would suggest.

May be an idea for you is to get your dd a doll so she has a baby of her own?

Thanks for congrats wasn't sure whether to post re scan did not want to come across as insensitive after homemamas scan. Nope we didn't want to know the sex, It was tempting though.

TopBanana · 10/05/2006 18:28

You'll have a lovely suprise in September now Smile

Good ideas!! I'm hoping that she'll want to help out with the baby, she'll be almost 3 by then so she might be interested in doing stuff then. She screams when I so much as touch another child at the moment!

Coriander73 · 10/05/2006 19:20

I feel huge!! Suddenly seemed to have balloned although some people say I don't seem as big as I did with DD (at this stage) but I say wait for the summer when I'm consuming copious amounts of ice cream....:o

AS for DD, after 4 normal nights last night was horrendous again - 2 till 5. She's just taken 45 mins to go down now so I don't hold out much hope for tonight. She really does seem to be suffering with her teeth so I've decided to give her Nurofen then backed up with Calpol 4 hours later if needed.....I had to drive into London yday & today again & wanted to cry on the way home because I felt so so tired.....probably just the realisation that life has to go on regardless & I'd forgotten how bad being sleep deprived felt.....& I'm doing this again?????!!!! Arrggghhhhhhhhhh

TopBanana · 10/05/2006 19:31

Hi Cori, did you try taking the sides off the cot? If I can remember correctly you said you had considered this. It really helped with my dd but of course then you have the problem of her getting up!

calvemjoe · 10/05/2006 22:34

Homemama, I'm so sorry your scan wasn't good. Thinking about you Sad
