RMW2 · 03/05/2006 12:54

hi is anyone else really hungry....all the time?! no matter how much I eat I still feel hungry and all I want to eat is toast and butter by the bucket load!! he he

mandaz · 03/05/2006 14:25

RMW2 - I wasn't until the last couple of weeks and now I'm craving really stodgy things. I'm really into those part-bake bread rolls at the moment (fresh out of the oven with butter on). I also have a thing for bananas so it's not all unhealthy (honest!)

I had the most horrid pain in the left hand side of my tummy yesterday. I thought it was a muscle cramp at first but then it got worse so I couldn't walk! I think baby must have been kicking or standing on something because it went about half an hour later. Thing is, it's scared me now as I think if I found that hard to cope with, how on earth am I going to cope with the birth!?! Blush Bring on the gas and air!

pepperpots · 03/05/2006 15:01

Quick hi jack alert ladies Smile
Just wated to say a huge good luck to hellkat (((((()))))) xx
Good luck to the rest of you to of course Smile

HellKat · 03/05/2006 15:23

Hiya all!!
Well............................ we still don't know what the sex is!! Lol. The sonographer tried every angle, got me to roll on my side and even got me to walk around. Nothing worked. Little bugger opened it's mouth like it was saying "Ner ner ner ner" waved then promptly crossed it's little legs and turned it's back to us lol. Most importantly everything's fine and normal. Looks like we'll be getting a wonderful surprise come Sept Grin

mabel1973 · 03/05/2006 15:53

Hk - congrats - glad everything is fine. Never mind about the sex - you just weren't meant to know just yet!
Our sonographer said 'probably' a boy and that there were no guarantees - so we could end up with a very unexpected surprise :o

HellKat · 03/05/2006 16:13

But is'nt it a wonderful surprise! Grin
Dp was a bit disappointed and said bet it's a girl being as it's so stubborn. Only problem is I don't get to buy an outfit in pink or blue so means I'll be spoiling it in neutral Smile
I said we were'nt meant to find out yet. Main thing is it's a healthy little sweetheart.

Bella23 · 03/05/2006 16:38

Hellkat - wonderful newsGrin
My friend also had her scan today and am feeling so excited and teary at all this happy news..............hark at me, must be hormones!!!

mabel1973 · 03/05/2006 16:42

ooooo! just had 15 minutes in the garden while ds has a sleep (whacked out from playfroup) It is beautiful today!!!!! And I have bought us ome Jersey Royals for tea from the green grocers - yum!

mabel1973 · 03/05/2006 18:08

might've known it wouldn't last.
Cats just brought a still chirping thrush into the house hanging out of it's mouth while it's mates going mad on the lawn.
Quite upsetting
I hate cats sometimes....

calvemjoe · 03/05/2006 21:03

Congrats on a healthy scan Hellkat Smile

RMW2 i'm always hungry too. Manage to eat fruit and good things most of the time but I'm diving for the choolate once a day Blush

Have been having the most awful backache, so painful I can't stay still. It comes in waves but I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I'm fed up, so going to the docs tomorrow to see if they can do anything. I hate the whole well you are pregnant thing. It hurts so much.

Hope you're all well, xx

liquidclocks · 03/05/2006 21:55

So pleased your scan went well Hellkat, and you're rash isn't itchy this time. Have now ordered my soap from the states so should arrive in a week or so hopefully - will let you all know if it works (well actually I'll probably be shouting from the rooftops it would be such a miracle!). Who was it that said pregnancy is the 'best time of your life'?!! It obviously wasn't a woman... :)

Marls001 · 03/05/2006 22:58

LOL, Bella!!
Homemama, love that your cute DS asks for walks!

It’s 1 ½ hrs weights & 30 min cardio/week. DH used to be a personal trainer & gave me a program. Not doing what I used to & it’s a constant struggle to do it. But in the end I think it helps my energy level …

… as well as occasional blessed caffeine. Put Fortnum & Mason (loved that place)’s looseleaf tea in the coffee maker – turned out pretty well! Grin Is that sacrilege?

RMW2 – Also hungry! Love it though, means I get to eat more-I love to eat. Not very healthily. That’s why gym's so important!

Mabel, we do home cuts too. Curly hair is great for that isn’t it? I love DS’s too.

Heard \link{http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5377794\this} today Shock Good news for y'all though!

Mandaz, please don't worry ... you'll be fine. Smile Didn't feel with DS like I thought it might.

Do you have the option of an epidural just in case?
I never wanted one, but might help just to know it's available.

Marls001 · 03/05/2006 23:01

Liquidclocks, that would be a very strange quote.
Most challenging, more like.

Hellkat, great description! Glad went well; hopefully next time legs will be wide open! Grin

HellKat · 04/05/2006 08:07

Morning all.
Hope everyone's well on this glorious day!!!!!!! So warm already! Was out hanging washing at 6.30 and it was warm then. Off to try and find some trousers today. Fed up with living in one pair of maternity jeans lol.
Have a great day all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

1Baby1Bump · 04/05/2006 08:16

I'm living in one pair of trousers too but dont know if i fancy dragging my 9 month old round the shops with me if its gonna be really hot!
My washing is also out. Ds is so busy watching washing machine i can get on here!- genius!!
:)

1Baby1Bump · 04/05/2006 08:37

(aka shaysmummy)

thanks for welcoming me by the way! i didnt update on my scan as i can never find the thread- i will put it in my watched.

my scan revealed.... (drumroll....) im having another boy. dh over the moon but he said he was rooting for a girl for me- bless.
i was a bit shocked as i was sure it was a girl.
i am fine with it though. i think 2 boys will be fun- u have all reassured me so! (another thread- calling all mummies of boys!)

i am having another scan on 9th may as the sonographer couldnt take the necessary measurements of his heart. he was lying right behind my belly button and with the placenta on the front he had no hope.
i also have another scan at 36weeks to see how big the little blighter is as ds was big.

has anyone else had to be rescnned for whatever reason?

:)

HellKat · 04/05/2006 08:40

I'm lucky my ds2 is 2 so alot more easy to placate & bribe around the shops lol.

1Baby1Bump · 04/05/2006 08:42

i spose i could use it as an oppertunity to try out my new pliko sun canopy!
we bought the double buggy a few months ago, its nice but i really love ds' buggy. i dont drive so buggys are very important to me! im not a saddo! promise!
:o

HellKat · 04/05/2006 08:45

Lol same here. Use good ol' foot power to get everywhere Grin

1Baby1Bump · 04/05/2006 08:47

hence, have all the acessories! sun canopy, parasol, raincover, matching bag, footmuff.... all wasted!
i cant walk around un matching! :o

HellKat · 04/05/2006 08:49

Pmsl!!!!!
I was like that with ds1 but with an 11 yr gap between them ended up having funky pram, foot cover etc but any ol' bag for a changing bag lol. This time around it'll end up with one of my funky cowprint bags Wink

1Baby1Bump · 04/05/2006 08:51

can u drive or did you choose to walk?
dont laugh!- some do! its much healthier, save the environment etc!!

Coriander73 · 04/05/2006 09:11

Hey,

I have been struck down by bloody sciatica...worse still is that I'm in Madrid (back today) & didn't sleep the whole night in hotel because of it - whilst (this is the ironic bit) DD finally slept through the night again after 2 weeks. I sobbed it was so painful & I just didn't know what to do. My colleague is taking me to her osteopath this morning to see if they can do something before I get back on the plane this pm.....:(

Marls, GCSE, A level, Degree, two years living & working in Madrid. With current job have been travelling back & forth for past 7 years. As for the gym, Christ woman...what willpower! I haven't been since conceiving...not that you'd want to tred the mill whilst throwing up!!! Did have a swim though yesterday...only 20 minutes but progress is progress!!! DH keeps on telling me that I'm not as FAT (!) as last time...I keep reminding him that we still have the summer & 4 months to go...so I wouldn't get too excited quite yet :o

Hellkat, welcome to the club - even if you did want to know!! That makes three of us now that will find out at the birth (you, me & Puppy!):o So, are we going to start new thread once eveyone has had their scans??

Bella23 · 04/05/2006 10:08

Morning ladies

Wow feels like we are in Spain or something, just popped to the shops round the corner and it is so HOT!! Grin

Hellkat - go to H&M if there is one near you as they have some fab maternity trousers. Am wearing some baggy lineny ones at the moment which are sooooo comfortable.

The doppler I hired arrived today so DH and I can have fun this weekend scaring each other trying to find the LO's heartbeat.

Gosh more boys, so think I shall be joining on the DS front, obviously no real idea, just a hunch.

Coriander - sorry to hear about the Sciatica, bless sounds horrible! Hope you get some relief xx

Bella23 · 04/05/2006 10:09

ps.........don't let me complain anymnore about my arse size increasing............its my own fault as have just scoffed a peanut kitkat and its not even 10:30 !!Blush
Am a terrible woman...............
