Sorry, someone posted the chart on a pregnancy thread. Think it's www.chineseastrology.com if that doesn't work try .co.uk. Then click on birth chart (or something similar) down left hand side.
Don't forget it's month of conception and your age at conception not your age when the baby is born.
Enjoy! Smile

HellKat · 21/04/2006 08:18

Morning all.
Smudger- Congrats on a girl!!
Bens- Congrats on a boy!

Hope everyone's well. I'm getting over excited about the scan lol got until the 3rd of May to wait though. Anyone else's before then?

momamia · 21/04/2006 08:33

Hi everyone,

This is an update from me.
I had to go into hospital yesterday afternoon, cos i had reduced movements and i felt really ill, I've been having a lot of stomach cramps and sickness.
As soon as i was put on the monitor she didn't stop moving (thank god) it was a relief, i told them about my cramps and sickness and they advised me to stop taking the iron tablets and try to increase the iron in my diet. They did another blood test to check my levels again, i will get those results next friday when i go for my last check at the hospital, this is when i find out for definate whether, i will be able to have a VB instead of section.
When she checked the baby's postion yesterday she was 2/5 engaged and she was no longer back to back. Which is brill!!

Is everybody else doing ok?

:)

momamia · 21/04/2006 08:38

Sorry everyone

It should have been posted to May Babies, my brain not with it this morning.

mabel1973 · 21/04/2006 09:14

morning all!

Hope evryone's well!
Will have a look at the chinese astrology thing although I am convinced it's a boy.
HK - my scan is the day before you on the 2nd - am so excited :o

mabel1973 · 21/04/2006 09:19

Just did the chinese horoscope thing - it came out as 52% likely to be a boy, so very close odds. Then I checked it for DS and it was something like 85% girl for his conception, so I have lost my faith in it now!!! Wink

Bella23 · 21/04/2006 09:27

Morning everyone.

Well had a lovely evening maternity shopping with my pregnant friend last night and then dinner only to come home and all hell break lose with a mouse under our bed!
One of the cats had brought it in and was torturing the poor thing and DH was out drinking with work. I tried to get the thing but they are so quick so ended up having to wait for DH to get home who was so drunk it was comical watching him trying to catch the little mite whilst falling all over the place in just a pair of boxer shorts!!
Good ending we managed to save the little thing, just hoping its not injured somewhere near so easy pray to be brought in again by one of the cats.
As a result feel knackered today after not getting to bed until 1am.
Ok moan over!
How is everyone else doing?

Homemama - checked out the chart and its almost 50/50 so jury still out although I think I am having a boy.

Compo - poor you having a cold in this weather, just when the sun is starting to actually shine! Lots of fluids should flush it out

yep also love the name Alexander

Coriander73 · 21/04/2006 11:07

I did that Chinese astrology marlarky & it was wrong with DD....& this time says 85% of a boy!!! Don't believe it though....that's because I want another girl!!!!! The baby is known as beanie or Jim - Jack or Imogen!!!! I love the name Alexander :)

I've got my scan on the 2nd!! Can't wait to see it again although not looking forward to the bursting bladder part. Still don't have much movement.....but not sleeping well so that must be a good sign?! :o

Bloody tired this morning as DD was coughing all night. In the end DH brought her into our bed - bad move (as it's proven to be the other 3 times we've done it) as she suddenly thought she'd party at 1.30am. I gave her 3 warnings to go to sleep otherwise she'd be back in her cot! So after the 3rd warning I just snapped & said right back into your room madam...this was met with a resounding Noooooo Mummy!!!! God, I'm horrible at 1.30 in the morning!!! :o

Normsnockers · 21/04/2006 11:44

Snap Bella, one of our cats brought in a mouse the other night I heard him with something (they make a certain type of meow don't they) and dashed down stairs to shut a few room doors so judging by the bloodstained hall tiles he ate it in there when he'd finished playing with it.

Had a bathtime from hell with ds last night, nothing was right and he burst into tears and tantrummed over every little thing, I kept calm and remained firm and eventually he agreed to sit on my lap and say "sorry mummy" but I was really thinking "what will I do when there's 2 to sort out at bedtime ?" I must contact the jobcentre about a mother's help or advertise in the local corner shop as time is ticking by.

Have a small confession to make, our last scan was part of an amniocentesis and we have now been told the good news that the baby definately does not have downs syndrome. When we go for the next scan in early May we will receive the rest of the results from the amnio. I am 41 already so was a little worried and still am until the full all-clear. My parents are not so young/healthy these days and as I am the most local child by a long way, I will be drawn into caring for them in the next 10/15 years or so which may be a bit difficult if we also had a handicapped child to care for. It would be a monumental decision for us to continue with a pregnancy knowing that there were major medical/social problems ahead for the baby/child as I otherwise intend to keep my career going but would probably have to quit or take a 'job' instead if you know what I mean.

Is anyone else having amnio ? We were offered nuchal fold scanning but we felt we really needed a definate answer rather than a statistic, given the above analysis of our situation.

I feel better for coming clean.

Bella23 · 21/04/2006 12:31

Norms - sorry to hear that you have been going through some stress with the amnio etc but great news that everything has turned out well. Thanks for sharing hon xx

homemama · 21/04/2006 13:17

Oh Norms, sorry you've been going through such worry. It's a shame you went through it alone and didn't feel you could post your worries. I'm sure I speak for many on here when I say you wouldn't have been judged for any decision you made. We each must decide what's right for us and our families. Smile Hope your sickness is easing slightly as mine has.

Mabel and Bella, you look in the box to see whether it is a pink or a blue asterix. The percentages down the right hand side are for the year. So at age 18 is says 17%girl/83% boy. That means an 18yrs old has those stats across the year. You look at the top to find the month you conceived and down the left hand side to find your age at conception. Where they meet should give you a blue or a pink asterix. Sorry to sound teachery! Grin

I really like the name Alexander too but there are so many of them in my family.

Angeliz · 21/04/2006 13:39

Normsnockers hope all goes well at the next scan+

Welcome to the new people.

I can't catch up at the minute but promise to try soon.
DD2 has been poorly for over a week so have no time. Poor baby is exhausted!!(As am i i have to say)

Just had my scan, first she said she thinks it is due even sooner than 31st August! (Started out the 7th September and they moved it to 31sy August at the dating scan) but she hasn't changed the date. It's just in the boundaries so maybe a big baby??

and..........................

it's a BOYShock
Am still in shock!

Angeliz · 21/04/2006 13:40

Most importantly, all is well and she said it was a lovely baby to scanSmile

tassis · 21/04/2006 13:51

Hi all!

I've not been around for a bit - been away and then had ds' 3rd birthday party. All fun.

Nice to catch up with all the news.

I'm now 18weeks and finally feeling movement which is lovely. I'm so jealous of all those of you who've found out gender - I really want to know, I knew last time, but the hospital here has just changed its policy and aren't telling. How annoying. I will ask, but doubt they'll tell.

So we'll have to choose 2 names which is going to be tricky as so far can think of none...

really liked Harrison last time, but not sure. Like Lily and Lois for girls. Rachel will be our girl middle name.

Really need some maternity t-shirts. ANyone seen any nice ones? The ones in Next are too short (I'm 6ft).

Normsnockers · 21/04/2006 14:07

Homemama,

I'm not too stressed about the whole thing and have been feeling the baby move when I am laying down in a quiet moment or two which is lovely and reassuring.

My gut feeling is that this is another boy but I'll be truly happy with either. The chinese astrology things says it's a boy too.

I'm feeling a lot less sick and have halved my nedication with the intent of weaning myself off it. I can't even think about alcohol or curries at the moment but I can clean my teeth again without being sick which is a relief all round.

Tassis, it must be very frustrating to have the hospital policy not to tell parents the sex. I'd be going mad with curiosity and thinking of a private scan to find out but that's just me, a bit of a control freak !

Angeliz, that's a really sweet thing to hear from the scan lady.

Hope everyone else is getting to grips with the sex of their babies (where they've found out).

Dh says he doesn't want to know the sex but I do and with amnio they can tell you for certain what sex it is so I'll be wanting it written down for me if he really doesn't want to hear it.

We'll have to pretend that we don't know as my mum desperately wants to know and we'd rather keep something secret 'til the birth.

tassis · 21/04/2006 14:10

Norms - I'm a control freak too and yes, going mad with curiosity - but we really can't afford or jsutify a private scan. Specially annoying because we knew last time and really liked knowing.

calvemjoe · 21/04/2006 14:15

Just done the astrology chart and it was right for ds and says this one is a girl!

Coriander73 · 21/04/2006 14:48

Why does everyone want to find out the sex?!!!

Lysettes · 21/04/2006 17:21

Norms - so sorry you felt you ahd to go it alone, and I'm with Homemama - we're all on here to support and not judge. Fingers crossed for your scan in May, and totally understand it is a monumental decision for you. I'll be thinking of you [big hug emoticon]

Angeliz - congrats on a boy - the MN boy figures must be growing now!

just done the astrology chart and it's 83% chance of a boy - we find out next Thursday so I'll let you all know. I really want to know so I can plan and prepare more, and I'm just full of curiosity! I also want to be able to talk to it and feel if I know the sex I will bond better - sounds really silly I know but....Blush

tassis - it's a pain not to know - someone told me that the heartbeat rates are different, but I can't remember whether it's slower for a boy or a girl - probably an old wives tale. Also I heard that if you ask your consultant he / she can tell you if the sonographer won't!

Also tassis - blooming marvellous do some good tops, or mamas and papas I think - i looked on their website. Alternatively if you can get a friend in the states to buy you some gear, you can go on gap.com as they do lots of basic good maternity stuff, that's a good price too.

have a great weekend everyone!

mabel1973 · 21/04/2006 17:33

Angeliz - congrats on your baby boy!

Tassis - I got nearly all my maternity wear (which isn't actually maternity it's just standard) From H&M - as there are so many long loose tops around at the moment there's loads to choose from without having to go down the pricey (and dowdy!) maternity route.

Cori - I want to know the sex as I felt it helped me bond better with DS last time - I didn't like saying 'it', I wanted to know who he was - if that makes any sense. It wasn't to do with planning at all.

compo · 21/04/2006 17:47

Congratulatins Angeliz Smile Norms - great news about the amnio results. I would feel exactly the same as you in your position.
Cori - me and dh want to know the sex because we are just too impatient for words!! It;s hard enough just waiting til the 21 week scan - we could never wait 9 months!! We're not going to tell anyone (except you guys of course) - we didn't with ds and it was fun listening to people saying it was definitely a girl because of the shape of my bump etc etc

OP posts:
compo · 21/04/2006 17:53

Forgot to ask does anyone feel guilty about taking paracetmol? I've had to take it a few times so far and even though the doctor etc says it's fine I still feel a bit guilty for some reason

pol25 · 21/04/2006 18:21

Well to all who have had or having recent scans good luck! All these boys that are about too- must be the year for them.
My friends is doing ok. Just feeling for her as she is 40 and her boy is nearly 4 so really having the urge to have another and can't, well has had three m/c and not sure she can emotionally take another. Feeling so sorry for her.
As for me and my lil' bump (or not so little) we're ok! Had plenty of birthday cake today as I turned 26! Yeah! Not any alcohol tho... But the cake thing is satisfying me and bubba and dd who is 1.5!!!
