Hi all,

well we had an eventful day yesterday, after spending lunchtime baking easter cookies, I took DS upstairs to change his bum and he trapped his finger in our bedroom door Shock. I was horrified and flew in to a complete panic, thinking it was broken etc etc. Called DH home from work and we spent the afternoon at A & E. He had it x-rayed and nothings broken thank goodness. He is fine now, but it the 1st time anything like that has happened to him and it was absolutely horrific - and that's just a trapped finger!
Then to cap it all I had another bout of painful runs last night, so have decided not to take any more antibiotics, so will just have to put up with being deaf :(
Other than that everythings fine!

mandaz · 14/04/2006 12:42

Hi everyone

Well, I had to wait for nearly an hour in antenatal yesterday, only to be told I'd been booked in a week early and I'm actually 18+2 not 19+2! I wouldn't mind but apart from the fact I was bursting for the loo and what with having a bladder infection this was no joke, no one actually apologised. They wouldn't even look me in the eye, just left me standing around whilst they re-arranged the appointment. So, I have to go back on the 24th or 26th April, can't remember which.

I did however at least get a brief glimpse of baby who was all curled up. I saw the heartbeat so at least I dont need to worry about that. It might explain why I haven't been feeling much movement yet. I suppose if I'd actually sat down and worked the dates out I might have seen the mistake, but I find the whole thing so confusing and just took their word for it! Ah well.

I also got a letter from my solicitor saying my h has said he's getting legal advice but wanted to know if I had a claim on the house we shared. It's all in his name and he's hoping he won't have to pay me anything in the divorce settlement. Charming! Angry
I think I should just have stayed in bed yesterday!

Hope everyone has a good Easter weekend. Sorry for the long post, feel better now have vented Grin

tazz · 16/04/2006 00:34

Hello All .... :) eeerm, this is my 2nd post - ever!

The 1st was me attempting to add my preggy stats (due in sept06) while at the same time trying to decipher all the flipping abbreviaions!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Please help me!

Cant take my hormones, have never been like this before - im a monster. I fear the safety of my mum, husband, and members of staff at my antenatal hospital. I am 17weeks pregnant, and everything seems to be going cock-eyed!

At 13 weeks I was admitted into hospital for 4days with bad hyperemisis (have always been underweight) and showed signs of protein and Ketones in urine - my baby was eating me!! Now by the grace of god almighty I seem to have recoverered from the vomiting and can keep my food down.

And somehow now I'm having to deal with a completely messed up medical record - I still havent seen a midwife, have not been booked in, have received a letter inviting me to a Dating Scan appointment, I quote 'to check on your 12 - 13 week baby' .... wait for it - on the ' 10th May 2006'
aaaaaaaaaaaah - I WILL BE 20 WEEKS AT THAT POINT! Have been on the phone with them , have seen my doctor and I guess will find out the situation on Monday.

OK - Frustration and anger has now become dispondence and .... dissapointment.

Now .... guilt - I need to use less thread space.

chow. :(

tazz · 16/04/2006 00:42

.... and to top it all off - IVE BEEN EXPOSED TO CHICKEN POX!!!!!

compo · 16/04/2006 08:59

Happy Easter everyone Smile

Also welcome to Tazz!

Hope y'all had a very happy Easter.

Currently waiting for DS to wake up from nap & go hunt eggs! (4:43pm)

Lysettes · 17/04/2006 11:24

Morning everyone!

Well, I can't beat dh's work for making him be in the office (the current client has jsut announced that she is a night owl so can only work between the hours of 4pm and 2am (and on a bank holiday!!!!, sooooo I'm in work! Am actually attempting to write handover manual for the temp that is due to start at the end of next week for my sick leave and mat leave, but I keep getting distracted by MN (note to self, more self control required Smile)

I'm sure you will all be pleased to hear the dreasm are getting worse - Michael Owen and frank lampard - anyone who has a remote interest in football will understand what odd taste those two are to appear in my dreasm Blush

Welcome Smudger - you're due the day after me! Is anyone due on Sept 6th???

Tazz - you poor thing - I would go down there and create an almighty scene!

Mandaz - hang in there - he's just chancing his luck to see how far he can get.

Mabel - you poor thing with your tummy - I've heard also that acupuncture works for sinus and ear trouble - have you tried that I can't remember?

Have a lovely rest of the easter weekend everyone, and back to the grind tomorrow.

Grin
Smudger73 · 17/04/2006 16:45

Hee hee Lysettes, you are correct about the peculiar taste in footballers to dream of... not Freddie Lundberg or Beckham. Now that I might understand! lol. I dreamt my partner had been sleeping with the woman from the Black Eyed Peas last night. Ekkkkk. Could never ever remember a dream before I was pg but now!

Am considering doing some gardening in a mo...

Can I ask a quick question? When did you guys (if you have already) start feeling movement? Don't think I have yet, but then am only 19+4

Marls001 · 17/04/2006 18:03

Hi Smudger! First felt at 17 weeks (now 19 + 4) doesn't kick often though! About 12 times/day. S/he's a much more laid-back fetus than DS was.

Manda, I did the same thing re: appointment! My very first appt., actually - They'd given me a day when Dr. wasn't even in the office!!

Mabel, so sorry. I got my finger trapped in a fire door when I was 8; broke in two places. Sorry you had to spend holiday in the ER though. Do they make you wait for hours like they do here?

SO fun watching DS hunt eggs. He has his moments of course but overall is just a joy; you first-timers will see!! Grin

mandaz · 17/04/2006 19:06

Hi all, hope you all had a great Easter

Tazz - that sounds awful, hope you get it all sorted out soon. It's really annoying when you're waiting for a scan. But it's all worthwhile in the end!

Smudger - I'm 18+6 and although I think I've felt the odd twitch, I can't say for sure it's movement and certainly no kicking. But they say if it's your first you don't feel it so early. I'm sure at some point down the line we'll be missing these quiet days Grin

I had a good day Sunday but then had a really bad upset stomach overnight. I went to the pharmacist as doctors not open and they said I couldn't take anything but gave me this raspberry flavoured milky drink which they said would put the nutrients back and help settle my stomach. I think I felt more sick after drinking it than before! I am feeling better now though.

I've gone off sweet stuff at the moment so my sister bought me some smellies for Easter and the cutest set of newborn bibs from Next! They are so lovely and it's now started me off wanting to buy baby clothes. They're just so small and sweet! Will have to be restrained I think but it's getting too tempting now.

mandaz · 17/04/2006 19:07

Oh and by the way Lysettes, I dreamed the other night that I was with some of the cast from Lord of The Rings cast and was trying to kill them all off so I could take over the world! Wierd dreams are definately happening alot at the moment Smile

compo · 17/04/2006 20:40

Welcome Smudger Smile I'm just starting to feel movement at 18 weeks but this is my second baby so I know things can be felt earlier. Have been naughty today and had a bottle of Becks as not been sick today!!

mabel1973 · 17/04/2006 20:43

Hi all hope you've had a good easter and not eaten too much chocolate!
dH bought a chocolate fountain home from work which they have in their office!!! DS thought he was in heaven and couldn't stop ooo-ing and ahhing at it!
Welcome to tazz and smudger!
Lysettes I am having really wierd dreams too - every night they seem to get more and more bizarre!
Marls - A& E wasn't too bad we were in and out in a couple of hours, which is very good by UK standards. DS is fine now although his finger is a bit black!
Anyone else suffering from cramp? I had it with DS and it's just started in my feet and legs at night and now my hands as well - oh no might not be able to type!!!! Yikes!

Lysettes · 17/04/2006 21:29

tell me about it - not even good looking footballers! Now we watched king arthur the other night so maybe if I tell you about Clive Owen before I log of he'll be in my dreasm tonight Blush

Killing the cast of LOTR has to be the best though! well done!

I am feeling fluttering and bubbling still and no real "kicks" but lots of shifting around and then can feel a really hard round or oval lump, which I am led to believe is the head or back of the baby - she (we've chosen she till we find out what "it" is) doesn't like me bending down though - shifts around an awful lot then!!

Anyway, glad I'm not the only one having wierd dreams - keep sharing everyone, it's making me feel so much more normal Smile

have a great day tomorrow everyone!Q

HellKat · 18/04/2006 08:14

Morning all.
Welcome newcomers!
Have'nt been on much. Having a rough time with spd & back pain but got the physio on the 28th.
How's everyone?
This babba's quiet too. Only feel tightenings or shifting throughout the day and then comes to life in the bath then settles.
Anyone got any scans coming up?
Hope everyone's great. xxxxxxxxxx

Lysettes · 18/04/2006 08:55

Hi HK

Hope physio goes well - it's just so demoralising to have pain like that when it won't go away isn't it?

We have our 20 wk scan next Thursday (27th) although i'll be 21+1 by that time. So looking forward to it - it'll be the first look for dh since 6 weeks!

calvemjoe · 18/04/2006 09:28

Hope everyone had a good easter.

Lysettes, I agree with needing to concentrate more on work instead of mumsnet. Was so excited when it came back on line on sat that I spent 2 hours refreshing mumsnet instead of my active jobs. Then someone said 'what are you doing with all these job's' and i was 'what jobs?' Blush

Marls, ds went on his first egg hunt and it was so funny. Every time he found one he just stood on the spot clapping his hands in excitement. Bless.

Mabel, I'm getting loads of cramp, in my hip of all places. Calcium is supposed to help so making an extra effort to make sure I get enough.

20 wks today! This time in 20 weeks I'm going to be fielding those 'have you gone into labour' phonecalls and being Envy of all of you ladies who've already had their babies!

Bella23 · 18/04/2006 09:44

Morning everyone

Hope you all had lovely Easter weekends and boo hoo for those that ended up having to work.
For once we spent the weekend at home so was nice not having to travel anywhere and really feeling the benefits of a nice long weekend.

On the subject of movements, well I think I have felt some fluttering but have to really concentrate to feel the. My stomach on the other hand is getting so big that the baby is definitely growing – it simply can’t be chocolate now!

Still a long way off until my next scan – 19th May @ 23 weeks. Oh well once April is out of the way I am sure time will speed up.
I had a lager shandy over the weekend which is the first bit of alcohol I have had this year and oh my God it tasted like pure heaven!! Am so craving some booze now, its my birthday next week so am going to treat myself to a glass of champagne.

Well best crack on with some work……….only a 4 day week hoorah! Totally agree on the difficulties of staying away from Mumsnet and actually concentrating, mind you must admit that once I found out I was pregnant my concentration level totally went out of the window!Grin

Coriander73 · 18/04/2006 10:10

Bella, a larger shandy?!!!! Get some decent alcohol down you girl!!!!! Compo, hope the Becks was nice & cold -& glad you're feeling better! I had some nice Rioja (I had to stop myself after a glass!) at in-laws at the weekend & yes, it was pure pure heaven. Amazing what you miss isn't it? Roll on September...although MIL said "yes but you'll be BF so you cannot drink"...I thought yes but a glass here & there want do any harm plus I'm determined to have some champers on ice after the delivery (we can but dream!):o :o

As for movement, not actually feeling much still. 19 weeks on Friday so would expect something a but more determined soon! BTW, can I ask you all a rather personal question? Do/can men..err...how can I put this...."wank" in their sleep??! There is a point to this question!

Bella23 · 18/04/2006 10:17

Coriander - nearly choked on my drink at my desk reading your last questionGrin
I would say yes definatelty - there is obviously the wet dream angle and if the dream is very erotic then its a bit like sleep walking but with more action!!Grin

I do need to know WHY the question though....come on spill?
