Hello everyone - and welcome magnolia!
Not been on for a few days due to constant need to kip taking up all those mumsnet moments!
Went to a party last night and stomach really aches today from holding it in so hard. Actually washed my hair (never do), put on fresh clothes (never do) AND a face of slap to deflect attention from my middle. Dh was a bit shocked I think Grin. Who says marriage makes you lazy?

Debbsy · 19/05/2006 16:34

Congratulations, LTH, I missed your announcement!

spinamum · 20/05/2006 11:44

Hooray! Got through lunch with uni mates and their kids. No pg questions!

Got through dinner with highly suspicious local mummy friends(imagine if someone offers to drive or doesn't drink alcohol-the question is asked)-no questions asked. Tried the old "I'm tempted by the blue cheese coated rare lambs liver,no I think I'll just have the pasta."

Not so hooray-took ever gram of my effort to hold in tummy and maintain "not in first trimester groginess" effect. Today I gagged in bathroom and feel RUFF.

I even wore my jeans to hold said tummy in and my poor belly is so achey today.

magnolia1 · 20/05/2006 12:19

Sorry LTH Blush

Well we told the kids after a good 9 week scan so the whole world knows now!! I am quite supprised actually that no one has said how utterly mad I am to be having a 5th Grin

Hi all,

Well what a week!! Have been feeling awful all week, not seen what happens after 9pm for a few days now and after silently rejoicing in my relative lack of nausea have been acutely sick all week. Dreadful. Up all night in the loo Thursday and Friday and to top it all off have lost my voice - and I'm a teacher! Oooh, I feel better now for a moan.

Welcome to me23 and magnolia, I might end up sharing a due date with you me23 - although I am not as keen on the 21 month pregnancy as you are! Think I might get put back a few days when I book in tomorrow as I have a 32 day cycle and my GP calculated my EDD based on 28 days. Although I got a BFP 7 days before my AF was due!! On an early test, but even so...hope it's not twins!

Spinamum, saw your post about the tummy aches and pains. I have been having those throughout really and finally plucked up the courage to ask my GP about them. Apparently they are more than likely due to the extra gas (sorry!) caused by the digestive system slowing down, although from about now (9 weeks) onwards there should be some discomfort from the womb growing rapidly. She told me not to worry as long as they aren't catch your breath painful and there is no bleeding.

Hope you are all well, here's hoping for a better week...and a due Feb thread...they make me feel soooo much better.

jabberwocky · 21/05/2006 20:32

Hey there, me23. We're about the same EDD's. Mine is the 15th but I'm having section on the 4th :)

I cna't be bothered to do anything today I was feeling fine earlier but it hit me on my way back from food shopping.

I've been having some stomach pains too but agree with lenied doc realised it was wind!
been getting headaches too, hope this passes soon.
hope you all are feeling good today!
sorry that was a bit of a moanathon.

lennied · 23/05/2006 20:09

Hi all,

Also booked in on Monday with the midwife. Really nice and being looked after by a small team of 4 community midwives and one student, so should get to know them quite well before the birth. At least one of them should be with me for the birth, at least in the early stages, although for long births I think they hand over to someone at the hospital once shifts change etc.

Made me feel a lot better though about having to see the consultant tomorrow. And have got my dating scan booked for 13 weeks - 20th June. Although still hopeful I might get some sort of scan at the consultant tomorrow - you never know!

Hope you are all ok, had to sleep with my seasickness bands on last night, only way I could stay asleep long enough with the nausea. Only a few more weeks though and then hopefully we will all start enjoying being pg a bit more.

X Smile

Devongirl · 24/05/2006 09:59

Hi

Aw Lennie that sounds miserable - I love going to sleep because it's the only time I don't feel sick! But last night I was awake for a couple of hours with indigestion which was annoying. I am angry with myself for whinging, but I never knew I could feel this tired, it's like I've climbed a mountain when really I have just sat at a desk all day!
Anyway, got the midwife coming round on Monday for booking in and she sounded really lovely so that's good - I felt a bit stuck in limbo when I hadn't heard anything from her. She said she'd have my scan date booked by then too.

Better do some work now I suppose!Wink

SRM · 24/05/2006 13:29

Hi all, may I join? Due round Christmas, not sure exactly when will be an elective C section. Know it sounds mean but am so pleased that everyone else is tired, sick and having tummy pain. This is no 3 but I had forgotten how awful you feel! Trying not to throw up all over desk at work is a challenge! Seeing midwife next week and had scan already due to possible ectopic - but all fine so far!

me23 · 25/05/2006 09:28

Hi All,
Welcome SRM,
I had my booking in appointment with the midwife on tuesday at the birthing centre, she was really nice, friendly etc.. I will have midwife led care. she arranged a scan for me for 10th june the day after dd's 1st birthday! Smile It's on a saturday so at first I thought they made a mistake, but it is correct they open on sat because so many women are booked with them! It's the Uch in London btw anyone else there?
I have been feeling tired as usual, Hormonal Angry! and been having stomach pain.

spinamum · 25/05/2006 18:34

hello

just picked up DS from nursery. all his friends (including best mate ) have chicken pox. I've done a search on old MN messages. Can any one tell me what I should do? i keep seeing pre 20 wks a problem. going to phone MW tommorrow but that's a whole 14 hours of stressing to go first.

i think i'm ok cos i think i had it before (but my mum's not around to check with)

DS hasn't got symptoms but that dosn't mean he's not infectious.

Oh HELLS BELLS. Someone please tell me that chikenpox and nine week pg does mix.

Sorry slightly flippant tone is to cover major panic. I'm supposed to know the answer to this.I know the technical stuff but I need some RL stories.

spinamum · 25/05/2006 18:44

isn't this the great thing about MN. If we knew one another in RL, you'd all be running for the hills if I mentioned contact with c pox.

i've just remembered NHS direct. giving them a call.

spinamum · 25/05/2006 19:08

I love NHS Direct. As long as i've had it before (97.5%) sure i have, it's OK to come in contact with C pox. Nurse asked me if I was feeling Ok. I replied "I'm nine weeks pg. I can't remember what OK feels like!" I'm phoning GP tommorrow to check if I've had it when kid.

Now instead of wanting to keep my son away from his spotty, itchey friends I want him to get out there and catch it. Because if beanie catches it at xmas it could be dangerous for her/him.

Sorry for the mini drama!

Hope you're all well.

PS don't ever read the complications of chickenpox in pg when waiting for a phone call back.
