Look forward to hearing for you soon Smile

What sad news I am so sorry x x x

AnywaY I have decided to join this thread as well as the Nov on eas I am due 2nd dec but having section 2 weeks earlier......

Rizzo2005 · 17/05/2006 02:42

I am due on the 31 Dec, latest date of induction 17 Dec. I hope i can join you here :)

Devongirl · 17/05/2006 09:30

Spinamum I am exactly the same - once I get home from work I am good for nothing except lying on the sofa under my duvet until about 8.30 when I go to bed. I feel very guilty as have only just moved house and it needs a lot of work and I can't do anything.

On another note, has anyone else got REALLY bad constipation? (Is that too much information?) This morning I just couldn't get out of the bathroom so made myself very late for work!

Is it just me???Blush

jabberwocky · 17/05/2006 16:29

Oh, yes, the perils of pregnancy! I had this last time as well. Drinking lots of water helps and I am trying to eat plenty of fruit.

Devongirl · 17/05/2006 16:36

I am drinking water and eating fruit - but my metabolism seems to have slowed down to going to the loo every 4 days! Aghghg! By the 4th day I am sluggish and lethargic (even more!) and just feel really grotty! Bleugh! But I know I shouldn't be moaning, I am very happy really - just never expected this unfortunate side effect!

jabberwocky · 17/05/2006 16:48

With ds I had to eat those fiber cracker things almost every day. I haven't had to do that this time thus far. I just couldn't face mixing up the powder stuff.

Normsnockers · 17/05/2006 16:54

Hi, I'm on the due in September thread and clicked on this by mistake but couldn't resist passing on my tip for constipation (I didn't poo for 12 days after I was in hospital for dehydration)

"Australian soft eating liquorice" bought from the lakeland shop or healthfood shop type liquorice has worked wonders for me.

Devongirl · 17/05/2006 17:13

Oooh thanks Norms, I'll try that! I'll try anything!!!

Is 12 days a record or can anyone else beat that? Shock

accessorizequeen · 17/05/2006 17:18

Urgh, yes, constipation awful. Same story with me after having ds, ended up in hospital a week later due to it. And I'm eating rubbish, no wonder. Licorice from Lakeland is gorgeous, any excuse to buy...I'll take some to the hospital this time, thanks for tip Normsknockers.

YummyMummy87 · 17/05/2006 17:41

Oh the joys of pregnancy!
What is everyone craving? I havent been able to eat and have lost weight but now I am always hungry and craving beetroot!
With my DD I craved yoghurt and fruit.....

lennied · 17/05/2006 18:33

Spinamum - I came home from work last night with a bag full of work that needed doing. Had a bath and my tea and lay on the bed at about 7pm for 10 minutes peace and quiet. Next thing I know it is 7am this morning, I have slept through 30 minutes of my alarm and have a hairstyle like Lenny Kravitz! Was late to work this morning and still tired!!

On the constipation - I have also been suffering. Managed 7 days without going, think I'd be half dead if went 12 tho!! Although (and WARNING this is TMI), at least it prepares you for labour a little, getting a week old poo out isn't pretty!!! Shock

I have found that a large bowl of Kelloggs Bran Flakes or Sultana Bran for breakfast EVERY day helps, if I have toast or miss breakfast even for a day then I am thrown out for a week!!

Anyway, will leave you with that thought! Am off to fall asleep during the Champions League final now. Night everyone x

cupcakes · 17/05/2006 18:46

I've been craving mint imperials. And I found some fab mints in choc at sainsburys the other day.

YummyMummy87 · 17/05/2006 19:01

Ive got severe sickness and found that mints ease it...especially polos!

accessorizequeen · 17/05/2006 19:21

Can't stand fibrous cereals, currently have thing for chopped strawberries on cheerios. Does that count?

Tiredness getting me down as I like to keep busy and on top of things to feel calm. Can't cope at work, too tired to concentrate on anything. Insomnia in addition to pregnancy. My eyes feel they're being propped open by matchsticks. But I still feel remarkably happy Smile

Did anyone see pregnancy article in observer on sun? Front cover of hugely pregnant woman in lingerie. DS noticed it and quizzed me. Said I had baby in my tummy but I didn't need it. I had no answer to that! Must buy new baby books on amazon tonight!

Debbsy · 18/05/2006 07:32

Devongorl my midwife has told me to drink a wine glass of prune juice before going to bed every night.Works really well.hth

accessorizequeen · 18/05/2006 09:28

Does it taste awful, though, Debbsy? Remember being told prune juice was better for babies if they were constipated. Has anyone else gone off fruit juice, I can't drink a drop of orange or apple juice, must be the acidity.

I've taken the day off sick, I'm just so tired, my asthma's playing up and a cold that won't go away. do feel guilty though, and think if I'm tired now what will I be like at 35 weeks! Left work at 33 wks last time and now I have toddler to deal with (lovely tho he is, and still napping). I think it must be harder for those who've got babies though - ds at least can entertain himself for half an hour at a time.

Slink · 18/05/2006 09:35

Hi not been around for a while, but have been reading up on you all. Well got my scan date 9th june, still have cramps but gp says i am growing etc sex is painful.... is it meantto be never was before, so dh has his excuse, i am dieing for some. I crave eggs so cook it to death then eat it. Hope all are doing well. xxxx

jabberwocky · 18/05/2006 16:21

slink, have you told your OB that sex is painful? tbh, I've always had a major increase in sex drive with pg, esp first trimester Blush

Re: prune juice, my grandmother used to make me drink it as a child, so I abhor it now. A friend recommeded just eating prunes instead. Haven't tried it yet, though.

Devongirl · 18/05/2006 16:37

Has everyone due in December seen a midwife yet? I haven't had an appointment despite ringing the hospital and GP. It's my first and I've explained I feel very unsure and I am sure I should have seen one by now!

I've gone right off sex by the way - my breasts hurt too much for a start, and I have no energy - once I get to bed that's it! Poor dh! Sad

jabberwocky · 18/05/2006 17:22

I'm seeing an OB this time around and she does the first scan at 7 weeks and appt at 8 weeks. I know that's quite a bit earlier than most clinics. Last time I used a midwife and she had me come in at 10 - 12 (I pushed for a 10 week appt).

Carameli · 18/05/2006 18:27

don't worry Devongirl, I am due 18th which I think was near you, too tired to look further down the thread :)
I am not having my scan till 9th and midwife booking in on the 12th. Have been assured that nuchal scans are fine until 13+6.
I was going to ask for one sooner but then if the nuchal scan results mean I might want an amnio I will still have a couple of weeks to wait anyway so at least by waiting till the 9th if the results are not what I want I will have less time to stress over an amnio. Hope this makes sense :)

I would ask why you have not got an appointment booked yet. Its nothing to panic about, but I would insist on getting a time. Are they saying why you have not got one yet?

MummyTo1PlusBump · 18/05/2006 19:29

Hi all,

I hope you are all well, i had my midwife appointment today a home visit, it was nice but i was a little bit gutted when she told me that they dont do scans here until 20 weeks, with my ds being ivf i had one a 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 weeks so its a bit of a shocker :(

spinamum · 18/05/2006 20:09

I've got my m/w booking visit on 13rd June, due to our holidays being back to back. No sign of a scan date yet.

i've being really achey today. think it's sort of constipation, sort of general growth down there somewhere and the fact i'm on my feet all day and i'm soooo tired. (my toddler kept me up til 12 on my previous early night, cos he found me in bed within a few minutes of my post!)
