lunavix · 21/03/2006 09:37

trix - i'm getting diddly squit :)

Had felt tons with ds and am sure I've felt possibly something but no kicks at all.

Midwife says it's just a different pregnancy - ds was soooo easy I swelled up like a balloon and had indigestion and constipation but it was a breeze compared to this :) I must just have a lazy baby! Doesn't stop me being paranoid though, and I'm counting down till next weds for 20 week scan...

Aprilgirl isnt there any chance you can get to see him in the 8 weeks? Where's he working? Cant imagine how your feeling, at leats he's felt his first kick before he went, my DH is getting bit p'd off as I can feel the kicks but he cant, I get him to feel and talk to my bump to try and get a response but nothing yet.
Trix n Luna, some weeks ago I felt nothing for a while and now feeling plenty of movement everday..I'm sure your kicks will come fast n furious soon.
Great news Eve on your scan! Smile

claire7676 · 21/03/2006 11:39

Haven't been on for a while, thinking about Ruth and Mark.

Loo rolls!!!! Now it all makes sense! Was catching up with the old thread and could not work out what the sheets were!! Will have to go and try that one. Arabica, ure scan is tomorrow isn't it? Good luck. The waiting must have been hellish. Will be thinking of you.

aprilgirl · 21/03/2006 11:44

claire7676 · 21/03/2006 11:53

aprilgirl · 21/03/2006 12:10

what was the out come of loo roll test mine was 8?

olivo · 21/03/2006 12:19

Aprilgirl, hope you're ok.

I havent felt anything at all, only 17+5 - really need the reassurance of a whack or two - 20week scan is still 2 and a half weeks away.

Arabica - good luck for tomorrow.

claire7676 · 21/03/2006 12:19

Well you'll have to take yourself over there for some r and r! Just make sure you loook after yourself properly while hes away, its so much easier to slob and eat more junky food when theres only you to worry about!! Just did loo roll thing, 8 and a half at 18+4!!

Nbg · 21/03/2006 12:35

Hi everyone.
Trix and Luna, I haven't been feeling very much. What I do feel is on an evening but it's not real big kicks. I know for sure that this time with dd I was getting stomach ripples, the lot. The midwife has said though that if the placenta is at the front I'll hardly feel a thing especially at this stage because they are still so small.

Aprilgirl, take a page out of my book. Dh is staying away an extra night tonight so I have gone to the supermarket and bought a chicken tikka masala, pilau rice and some lovely veg samosas for tea, a captain birds eye spag bol meal for dd (very very naughty), a 150g mint aero bar, some strawberries and I have just scoffed a huge sarnie from the local bakers and a large vanilla slice Grin
I'll probably feel ill tomorrow but never mind.

This poor baby!

Melsy, We put dd in her bed a couple of weeks ago. It took her just over a week to stop the screaming and tantrums and the getting up early but she's gone back to her usual bed time ways now.
It was a real shock though because she is normally so good with going to bed. Hang on in there!

Me too, I know that with dd I felt movement much earlier and it was much stronger and more regular by now. I thought it happened earlier with second babies as you knew what it felt like, but oh no!!! Only started feeling movement in last week or so and not often at all. And certainy not strong enuf for dh to feel yet!

aprilgirl · 21/03/2006 12:56

im kinda feeling movement rather than kicks but defo this morning when i was upset and dp had his head on my tummy it was more like a kick but i only really ever get this on a night time when im just about to go off to sleep but all i can decribe it as is 'movement' cant wait to see my belly move keep just watching it to see if anything is going to happen!!
yip i think i am just going to spoil myself for 8 weeks n think of the ggod points ie: no more undies left on the bathroon floor!! he he god what i'd do for a pair of undies to be left there tomorrow!! ( even though it drives me crazy!!!! ) Grin

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 21/03/2006 13:44

Has anyone else had their 20week scan yet? Had mine today and not sure if it was good or bad....

Nbg · 21/03/2006 13:46

Why whats up Boop?

OP posts:
SnowdropsInTheSpring · 21/03/2006 13:50

Well baby is fine, healthy size etc but his tummy is two weeks bigger than rest of him. She said might be gest diabetes but the dr would go through all of this. Saw a diff dr, mine was off (cheek, didn't he know i was coming today?) and we were pretty much palmed off. Horrible dr. Didn't like him. So we still don't know. Go back in two weeks for another scan so will demandeither my dr or another one.
So what do they expect me to do for two weeks??

Nbg · 21/03/2006 13:53

I never got to see my Dr with dd and don't expect to see them this time either.
I don't know why they bother assigning one to you. Waste of time IMO.

Don't know what to say about your scan. Gestational Diabetes does normally mean a bigger baby but don't really know much more than that tbh.
Have they suggested a blood test or testing your urine?

OP posts:
Micku5 · 21/03/2006 13:57

I have my first hospital ante natal appt this afternoon. Am 16+5 weeks atm, did the loo roll test and i am 8.5 sheets. Either it's a big baby or I am fat..I know which one it's more likely to be. Will have to cut out the jammie dodgers like Kelly Osbourne.

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 21/03/2006 13:58

I've actually been really lucky and seen my dr weekly due to previous m/c. Sonographer did say they would probably want to test urine, bloods etc but he just said its ok, just come back. )Basically when he isn't about, was his lunchtime nearly....)

claire7676 · 21/03/2006 14:21

Why don't you call regular doc tomorrow? 2 weeks is a long time to worry. Say that you feel palmed off and that you're worried (I know that you naturally are worried of course, but do exaggerate and put it on a bit too, use those pregnancy hormones!!) Good luck

Nbg · 21/03/2006 14:23

Yes thats a good idea Claire.
Or maybe even your midwife or hospital.

Considering you are having regular check ups I think 2 weeks is a bit much to wait unless it's to see if it evens out IYSWIM.
