Pimms, what a great idea! Can I have one? I'm pretty sure it's safe to have a glass of wine (or equivalent) every day if you fancy it.

SnowBoo · 05/04/2006 19:01

So i will buy a bottle that will last me all summer (and winter probably!)

trix1 · 06/04/2006 07:50

Good morning all, Hope you are all well.

Im off for my scan this morning, I kept dreaming that I could see a "willy" in the scan pictures. We are not going to ask though.

I will post later to tell you how I got on.

have a good day.

noodlekitkat · 06/04/2006 09:07

Good luck Trix!

I think there is disagreement over alcohol, some people say have none, so0me say 2 units a week, some more, e.g.

NHS website:
"The Department of Health recommends drinking no more than two units of alcohol a week when pregnant, and strongly advises that you avoid binge drinking (eg drinking several units of alcohol in one session)."

FAS people:
"No amount of alcohol has ever been proven to be safe for a developing child. (Löser 1999)This means that the only truly safe amount is NONE! "

So who knows? It is a shame that you can't have any fun whilst pregnant..... God knows you could use some.

purpleturtle · 06/04/2006 12:32

Advice on alcohol has changed here in the last 3 years. When pregnant with ds I was given the 2-4 units over a week advice; this time round I'm supposed to avoid altogether. I do have a glass if I fancy it though.

freddysays · 06/04/2006 13:41

Hi all, just thought I would sign in...I had my scan yesterday it was a bti of a late one at 23 weeks but everything was more than fine and we also found out the sex. We didnt with our wee boy but everything has been different with this preganancy so why not this part too?

Anyhow, i had no idea what my preference was until I actually found out the sex and I can say it was with an inexplicable sense of relief that we heard it was a boy!!!!!

I have no objection to girls but i suppose its better the devil you know (excuse that phrase not meant to sound like ds1 is a devil he is the opposite!)

Needless to say I aboth happy with finding out dont feel like I have cheated anything or spoiled any surprise and I am also happy with it being another boy.

I think my little one Freddy will be pleased too!!!

Good luck to the rest of you on the next scan. I really enjoyed it, we saw so much of the baby and he was really active throughout. The kicks i could feel where immediate on the screen and it was such a thrillign exp.

Have a great sunny day all x x

noodlekitkat · 06/04/2006 15:47

Great news on the scans! Hope yours is OK Trix. Seems like ages since I had mine. I get another at 27wks to see if the cysts and bowel issues have resolved.

trix1 · 06/04/2006 16:32

Hello all

happy birthday - Katylou

I had the scan and everything is fine. Did not find out the sex, was tempted too but dh was adament that we should not find out.

I mentioned about not feeling much movement and was told that I might not til about 24/25 weeks so I feel much better now.

i might even start buying for the baby now.

Arabica · 06/04/2006 16:46

Fantastic, trix! Now you can enjoy yourself a bit more. I still haven't bought anything, mind, but at least I've now plucked up the courage to look in the baby shop--wouldn't even cross the threshold before!

PinkTulips · 06/04/2006 18:14

happy birthday katylou!

congrats to everyone who's had scans the last few days, so glad everything went well for ye!

not been on much the last few days as my bumps gone rock hard and numb and i'm not really comfortable sitting in this chair, tend to just collapse on the couch once dd is in bed! the same thing happened at this stage with dd, i explode in size for a couple of weeks and my muscles and nerves in my tummy can't seem to keep up, hate it though as it's much harder to feel the little one moving around when my whole bump is numb Sad luckily he loves his daddy talking to him and usually gives some massive kicks for him if he hears his voice close to my belly, it's very cute!

SnowBoo · 06/04/2006 21:27

Glad all the recent scans went well. Is it me or is there an explosion of boys?

Bought a hoodie jacket for my ds and bought the same for his baby brother! He is over the moon, can't wait to put it on baby! Oh, if i refer baby as ds's baby its cos myself and dh have nothing to do with it! Ds is insisting im just keeping baby Melman warm for him, when he comes out ds will take over!

snic · 07/04/2006 08:22

morning all, i also had scan yesterday, all was well, baby had legs crossed but they said it looks definately more like a girl. i am so pleased as i really wanted another girl. looks like there is not many of us expecting girls.

PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 10:24

morning all,

just thought i should pop on and point out it's baby isaacs funeral today, if everyone could just spare a thought for ruthlouise and mark while they're going through such a difficult time Sad

jayjaybaby · 07/04/2006 10:33

hi everyone glad the scans are going well hope you had a good birthday katylou
got my scan on monday my dh is so excited im still not feeling any kicking but my stomach keeps moving and i dont feel any thing its bizarre ive finally put some weight on but i think its down to the amount of choclate and macdonalds ive been eating
are any one elses boobs leaking at random Blush

Nbg · 07/04/2006 13:23

Hi everyone.
Great to hear about the scans, lots of boys isn't there.

I have one thing to say to Lockets.....

get that bloody envelope opened Grin
I don't know how your restraining yourself!

Nothing to report here just lots of kicks and some uncomfortable BH's. I've also found I can't sit with my legs together anymore Blush it's too uncomfy.

Not feeling so great today. I've gone to drop dh off as he's gone to Austria today for his snowboarding holiday so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself but he's back a week tomorrow and on Sunday me and dd are off to York to stay at my mum and dads till wednesday so at least the week will be broke up a bit.
Also feeling a bit sick and dizzy and I've got a bit of pain in my right side. Not sure why. If it carries on I think I'll call the midwife.

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 13:48

poor nbg, hope he's planning on spoiling you rotten when he gets back to make up!

do call the midwife to be on the safe side, can't hurt and you'll get an extra opportunity to hear baby's heartbeat! Wink

lockets, stay strong don't leave me alone in not finding out!

PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 13:49

oops, must stop using so many exclamation marks!!!!!!!!!!

Sheona · 07/04/2006 15:33

Everyone seems to be having 20 week scans! My scan was in the middle of feb, got a scan on 1st march cause midwife couldn't find heartbeat, so got a scan but it was only for 1 min and it was just one of the portable machines (not v good).

Won't see baby again till baby decides to appear.

Does any1 else feel a bit fed up?, or is it just me. Maybe cause I have known baby was coming since 22nd december, it just seems to be dragging in.

PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 15:54

sheona, if you think it's dragged so far i feel obliged to tell you it only gets worse from here on out! by the time i had dd i though i'd been pregnant forever and i only found out at 3 months! the bigger and fatter you get and the more people that say 'my, you must be due any day now' when your only 7 months......grrrAngry

Sheona · 07/04/2006 15:58

That's the other thing I'm only going to get bigger and more fed up!

PinkTulips · 07/04/2006 16:05

not to mention hotter, we're going to be heavily preg in the middle of summer. thank god i live on the coast as my survival plan at the minute is to bring dd to the beach everyday and wallow like a beached whale in the shallows!

SnowBoo · 07/04/2006 20:01

I found out at 7 weeks. That was the first scan and weekly since but now he has let me have a few weeks off. Trouble is, the days are begining to drag....

Getting lots of kicks, seems to really react to ds voice, he keeps cuddling tummy as he wants to be as close to baby bro as is possible without him actually climbing back in!!!!
