Tomato there are a few exercises and positions you can use to encourage baby to turn. I'd ask Dr Google and start doing them now while baby ha a bit of space.

Welcome Sosmum. My friend's brother was the same but that was before scans were routine so it came as a surprise when he was born. He needed a few operations through childhood but if you saw him now you would never think he had anything wrong at all. My friend reckons her brother always got extra ice cream as a child because of it, it's funny the things that you remember from childhood.

Welcome sosmum :)

I'd like my brain and my body back please - or is that too much to ask?!
Although to be fair, neither was up to much to start with :)

I discovered at work on Monday that I have a little more leave to use up than I thought so I've booked a half day this week and a full day off next week, leaving me with 3 and a half days left to work (over 3 weeks) - I was delighted by this! Especially as DD does a half day in nursery on the days I work so I'll actually get some time to myself :)

GTbaby · 11/09/2012 21:01

One born every minute special on channel 4 now!

NervousAt20 · 11/09/2012 21:03

Welcome sosmum

kirrin that sounds like a nice suprise

Another thing I'm looking forward to getting back is normal levels of hormones! This last week has definatly been a tidal wave of them. Feeling really ache tonight kind of like how I felt before I would start my period, so got a hot water bottle on my back and going to have a sock in the bath and hope that does it

NervousAt20 · 11/09/2012 21:13

Soak! Blush damn phone.

ValiumQueen · 11/09/2012 21:14

Right. Makes sense Grin

Passmethecrisps · 11/09/2012 21:22

Evening all. Welcome sosmum.

3 weeks and 3 days left at work. Someone said before about people now asking how long you have left rathe than how far along you are. I have noticed the same thing.

Today I bit the bullet and bought the Moses basket, rocking stand and covers. So, purchase count stands at - pram, cotbed, Moses basket and stand, 10 reusable nappies and a pack of disposable ones. Got lots of sleepsuits and vests. Oh, got steriliser, bottles and breast pump. I am satisfied with that actually. We are planning to move a chair out of the sitting room into junior's room so that can act as a nursing chair. We need lots of wee things I am sure but the big things are done.

Went to pregnancy yoga tonight for the first time in weeks. I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I will sleep well.

The thing I am looking forward to is having a glass of wine in the evening. And I could murder pate on toast.

kissyfur · 11/09/2012 21:32

Having a rubbish evening tonight, feel all over the place Sad

Watching OBEM is probably not the best idea as I'm now in floods of tears! Just want to hold my baby now and for everything to be ok. Find the worrying v hard to deal with at times.

And the stupid eBay seller I bought the little bedside cot from has been messing me about saying he's going to send it and not actually sending it. Now he's saying he can't send it and will give me my money back, but that means I have to find another one! Sad

Arghhhh! Sorry rant over Blush

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/09/2012 21:50

Rubbish here too kissy can't blame tv, not been near it all eve. Bloody hormones, plus absent OH for a few nights got me feeling a touch abandoned. Silly really.

eBay seller is an arse. Deffo leave bad feedback and start searching for another ASAP. Smile

tomatoplantproject · 11/09/2012 22:43

Thanks all. Went to preg yoga this evening and have got a couple of exercises to start doing. Have also been pointed in the direction of the spinning babies website which basically says I have to start hanging upside down. Oh and someone suggested shining a torch in my lower tummy to encourage the baby. Fingers crossed it will work!

Iheartpasties · 12/09/2012 04:36

shellybobbs "My hubby's not seen the main event for months. He said he actually kicked his own balls the other day they were that full, I said at least they didn't have people living in them" fuck - that made me laugh!! My poor bladder!!

gardenpixies bless you it must be hard going with two in there!

missmummy i could not cope with dh telling me what to eat. they have no concept of carrying a baby and what you want to eat etc etc

Evilwater · 12/09/2012 04:45

I'm posting this a little earlier than usual, but I can't sleep.
Yes my EDD is 20/10. So about 4-5weeks, for the lady who wanted to know.

I've tidied up the baby's room and it looks fab, I'm really proud of how it's turned out. I've even started packing my hospital bag. I've packed things I don't mind getting lost. I know the staff won't pinch it, but you never know about other people. I just have breast pads, a dressing robe( sorry can't spell well at 0430) and toiletries.

I'm hoping to put up a pic of the baby's room at a better hour.

Midwife appointment today, strange I'm looking forward or that.
I havn't had any nesting instinct, since finishing work but I have had more energy.
Evil

Evilwater · 12/09/2012 04:54

Out of a matter of interst, had anyone's under bits got bigger or is that just me? Confused
Evil
Still awake, and going to try another glass of warm milk.

StuntNun · 12/09/2012 07:13

Evil I'm afraid to look! And I would nor recommend looking at them after the birth either until they've had a chance to get back to normal. I made that mistake last time! Some things you're better of not knowing.

OP posts:
ValiumQueen · 12/09/2012 07:16

evil I am sure most of us will have bigger under bits due to the hormones and pressure and increased blood supply. Sorry you cannot sleep.

Passmethecrisps · 12/09/2012 07:35

Another non-sleeper here. I think I had about 3 1/2 hours in total last night. Between back ache and baby in my ribs I was almost crying with tiredness and frustration.

Hay ho, I'm up now. I feel like I am going to get through today on autopilot counting the hours until i can go back to bed.

Checked the weather for our outdoor activities day tomorrow - rain and gale-force winds. Awesome.

I don't plan on checking any area I can't see easily - I see my bump as nature's way of preventing me from looking.

32 week dance with kirrin, everso and . . .

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2012 07:57

Ds was being a little poo last night, really unsettled and crying. He also has this annoying habit of wanting to stroke my arm over and over while he goes to sleep but it makes my arm feel numb it feels like I'm lying next to an octopus. He did sleep til half 7 this morning though which was nice.

I'm off to a farm/ play type place today with a friend and her dh. I only see her every few weeks but the time between visits seems to fly by. Hope the next 10ish weeks do too.

Ds was born 9 days early so I'll be a bit disappointed if this one doesn't come early too, I keep thinking she will.

Oh also meant to ask, I'm almost positive I know what day(s) I conceived so if I count 38 weeks on from that will that give me an actual due date or will she still come when she decides? Because preg is an exact time length if I know my dates i can't see how she could be late...I'm not really making sense!

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2012 08:08

Ok so I've just counted 38 weeks from the day I think I conceived (which is the latest date poss) and its said my due date is a whole week before what I'm going on.
So instead of the 20/11 it said the 13/11. I'm confused now!

horseylady · 12/09/2012 08:39

Dh21 preg isn't an exact time, it varies from person to person.

It's more a time period I think, little ones tend to arrive when they're ready. Or earlier, or later.

I tidied upstairs last night while dh watched football. I think the two of us need to talk about the impending events. I just don't think I can do it without crying!!!

YellowWellies · 12/09/2012 08:46

OBEM multiple birth special last night was really moving particularly as a twin, didn't realise quite how tricksy us multiples can be to carry, my poor mother. Heartbreaking too in places. It made me think of whereistheball - I'm going to try to find her thread as there were twins born at 28 weeks (which I think is when she had hers) and they were so small 1lb14 and 2lb3 and the parents had such a tricky time of it. I imagine her wee ones are still in the hospital :( . Hope she is getting some support from the premmie threads ladies.

StuntNun · 12/09/2012 09:08

DH21 unfortunately you can't work it out like that. Even if you know the day you DTD that made baby, conception is the moment when sperm met egg which could have been that day or any day up to about a week later at most. That's why the LMP is used to calculate the due date. The measurements taken at the 12-week scan are supposed to be more accurate than the LMP so that might give you a better idea, even then they accept that being up to a week different from the date estimated at 12 weeks before they will change your EDD.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/09/2012 09:10

Ahh ok then I guess that makes sense really Grin I still don't think this baby will be late though wishful thinking

kirrinIsland · 12/09/2012 09:36

Another non sleeper here :( just can't get comfortable and then when I finally got into a good sleep DD woke up!

I'm just going to potter about today, nothing in particular planned.

applepieinthesky · 12/09/2012 10:08

Welcome sosmum Smile

Three more days at work then I've got a week off and I can't wait. We are going to Center Parcs monday to friday and I plan on doing absolutely nothing other than walks with the dog and reading Ina May Gaskin. Can anyone recommend any good books on hypnobirthing?
