I'm not so bothered about my body catbag and Valium but I want my brain back. I'm so unhinged! I had a sobbing fit at DH earlier prompted by absolutely nothing.

I getting ready fed up of being weepy.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/09/2012 14:54

Argh! I have got 2 kids, sadly I was induced with DS1 and spent the whole labour sedated and DS2 I failed to recognise I was in labour until he was born. Blush
The pains have gone erratic now after coming alarmingly regularly for an hour so its probably nothing.

I'm do going to make the nutella bread next week, it looks yum! :)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/09/2012 14:56

As for getting body back, I'm getting my figure back after this young man if it kills me! Although DP does make reference to "the next ones" which I smile and say "maybe in a few years dear" my brain is shot, I'm at the fuzzy stage where I forget things mid sentence and make no sense half the time! I'm not very confident driving because of it tbh, concentration has gone right out the window.

Catbag · 11/09/2012 14:59

I absolutely want my brain back too Waiting. I haven't been so hormonal this time as with previous pregnancies but I'm feeling definitely intellectually deficient. My memory is almost non-existent at the moment, and my ability to read things that are, shall we say a little taxing, is greatly reduced. I feel like I've lost 100 IQ points somewhere :(

gardenpixies32 · 11/09/2012 15:21

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Feeling blue at the moment.

Back from midwife. So many lovely little round bumps in the waiting room and then I entered... Sat there feeling like an elephant and felt like knocking them all out with my enormous (not cute) bump. Midwife measured it, didn't say anything and wrote term+ on my notes. Babies still transverse.

Catbag my consultant is lovely. I have seen him each time, not the registrar, which is great. He does not want to talk about the birth and keeps telling me it it too early, which I guess it is. Seeing him at 33 weeks.

VQ yes, I would much prefer a natural birth. The thought of a section scares me to death. But don't think it is going to happen.

Hope everyone is well x

Sosmum · 11/09/2012 15:39

Hi everyone,

I've got 8w and 2days to go - due 8th November. I'm having a little boy with a complete cleft on his left side.

I'm fed up now......big feet, big bump, no sleep but he is my last so I need to enjoy it!!!

Catbag · 11/09/2012 15:52

Ha ha, you had me giggling at the thought of knocking out people with enormous twin bump pixies! I may do it myself Grin

YellowWellies · 11/09/2012 16:01

Hey Sosmum - that's my birthday. When you say a complete cleft - what do you mean? Sorry am being thick / suffering from foetal brain robbing.

MissMummy1 · 11/09/2012 16:52

Completely stumped as well now yw on the gender front. People keep telling me I have a girl bump, I still think boy (reckon dh hypnotised me in my sleep?) but will still be genuinely shocked if we're on the same team.

Had my mw appointment this afternoon. All fine except glucose showing up in my urine - I could have ripped DH's face off their and then when he glowered at me from across the room but don't want to be put on a list. It's probably more to do with the fact I had a pint of fresh orange juice half an hour before peeing (idiot) but either way he reckons he can now control EVERYTHING i eat. I'm worrying a bit about it as mw turned it into a bit of a drama as well. It took her half an hour at least to take blood from me to be tested and if that comes back as a problem I'll need a gtt. I am eating more healthily now than I've ever eaten before so feeling a bitcrap about it. Not helped by the sugar police who lives with me...

MissMummy1 · 11/09/2012 16:53

Sp there. Bliddy autocorrect on phone!

YellowWellies · 11/09/2012 17:09

I couldn't handle that. It's hard enough being preggers and feeling that you are losing control of your body without someone else trying to control you by food. I would be so mardy murderous. Sigh what is it with fellas when they 'mean well' they drive me mad!!! I bet your bloods are fine - it'll have been the orange juice. Is there any family reason he is so concerned about diabetes?

MissMummy1 · 11/09/2012 17:14

My gran is diabetic because she spent her entire life eating really unhealthily but otherwise no. I blame his bloody sister telling him that if I eat sugar our baby WILL have diabetes. Dick. My mum apparently tested positive for glucose a few times when preggers with Laura (youngest sister) but they put it down to her frosties cereals cravings Grin as all subsequent tests came back negative.

tomatoplantproject · 11/09/2012 17:17

Hello everyone

Just back from seeing the mw and the baby is still transverse - its basically been in the same position all the way through. I think she's preparing me for a cs - unless the baby flips in the next few weeks I need to have a scan and she was talking about having an ecv if the baby is breech rather than transverse. It's all quite a lot to get my head around - I was wanting to go to the birth centre and do it all naturally. It's also freaking me out that if I have a cs I'll have a baby in 6 weeks. I've been assuming this baby will be late and I've got loads of time to get organised.

Bollocks.

Sosmum · 11/09/2012 17:18

Hi Yellow,

A complete cleft is a cleft that goes right up into his nose area. He has no lip what so ever on his left side. An imcomplete cleft lip means it doesn't go all the way up. (seems the wrong way wrong to me!!) He may also be missing his palet and it seems he has no gums either. Not sure what that means with regards to teeth! We found out at our 20 week scan. I'm booked for a section on the 8th so if I don't go into labour he will be born on your birthday!!

tomatoplantproject · 11/09/2012 17:21

And missmummy my dh decided that he could help my monitoring my alcohol intake - so on the odd occasion I've had a small glass of wine he would say something. He stopped when I pointed out that I had been doing my research and wouldn't take a risk if I thought I could harm the baby.

YellowWellies · 11/09/2012 17:22

Awwww all the best Sosmum - I bet that was really worrying to hear at the time. Fingers crossed for you both - how cool that you know when you are going to meet!!!! xxxx

YellowWellies · 11/09/2012 17:24

Yeah DH tried that one on me tomato too. He soon got the message that I'm following scientific advice, am not a muppet but am giving up a damn sight more than him to have this baby so would prefer not to get lectured by someone whose life has only been marginally affected thus far... Poor DH. I wouldn't be married to me, it's a good thing he's hardy and thick skinned.

DesperateHousewife21 · 11/09/2012 17:27

Welcome sosmum :)

I got an email saying my bounty mum-to-be pack is ready for collection so those who haven't signed up to bounty (or any other preg site) I'd do it and get some free stuff!

tomatoplantproject · 11/09/2012 17:29

Gosh sosmum that sounds like a lot to take in. Does this mean that he'll be ok feeding?

MissMummy1 · 11/09/2012 17:41

It's his way of caring. I'm just an arsey independant sod who hates being told what to do - by anyone! Have any of you tried the 'fre' wine? I haven't drunk at all this pregnancy - even before finding out at 11 weeks I was upduffed I hadn't drunk since christmas. Was tempted with a 'fre' bottle of white zinfandel in asda last night though. Problem is, I'm quite fussy with wine and if zero alcohol is as crap as it sounds I know I'll just end up wanting a decent bottle of proper plonk.

I rediscovered my love of chai lattes this morning. Used to drink them all the time at uni and dh bought me caffeine free powder last night. Yipee! I've been off tea and coffee for months, and minus the calories, this is guilt free.

ValiumQueen · 11/09/2012 18:30

Unfortunately the orange juice would not have affected the wee so quickly, but is more likely to affect the blood test. The juice would not have had time to get to your bladder.

In relation to getting your brain back, I don't think you ever do completely.

horseylady · 11/09/2012 18:32

Mm hopefully bloods ok!! I know I complain about dh not seeming interested but I'd rather that than him being on my back about everything!! Thankfully he has little clue about anything and is far too occupied to be worrying about his pregnant wife should or shouldn't be doing or even what she is doing :) I might actually see him this evening, alone, for more than 30 minutes which will be a small miracle!!

Bastard day at work, I hate Tuesday's, I hate that men don't read bloody instructions and if they did the job could have been finished with me only doing an hours overtime rather than 2.5 hours!!! It's meant I've not been able to ride tonight......and I wanted too......

Tomato at yoga lady night she told us to spend a lot of time on all fours to help encourage the baby into the correct position. She also said something about acupuncture if at 36 weeks the baby is in the wring position.

kissyfur · 11/09/2012 18:39

Welcome sosmum and wishing you and your DS all the very best

ValiumQueen · 11/09/2012 18:40

tomato make sure you read up about the turning procedure. I have noticed a few threads about it recently. I know nothing of it myself, and the threads may just be scare stories, but I think it is important that you read up on this, and also ELCS experiences too. Please don't be terrified, be informed.

sosmum hopefully there will be no problems with his palet. It is amazing what they can do to help little ones with this.

ShellyBobbs · 11/09/2012 19:10

sosmum Welcome, and that sounds like a lot going on with your little one.

Tomato ditto what Horsey said about acupuncture, I was only reading about it last week and the results are in the 90 odd %, it's so high.

VQ My brain never came back, I'm still waiting 12 years later.

Think I'm going to slope off to bed soon, I'm bloody knackered..........
