I got 2 hours sleep last night from 8pm - 10pm, was awake ever since! Have just demolished 4 cheese on toast and 2 donuts, so looks like my appetite is coming back thank goodness.

Just seen this, have a laugh at the picture, Argos should really be ashamed at putting this on their website, talk about technical genius's! cut and pasted by a child

ShellyBobbs · 12/09/2012 10:43

here's another one

I'm going to email them and say I was going to buy one, but unfortunately I don't own a baby's head to put on the top of it.

horseylady · 12/09/2012 10:48

Omg that's so freaky??!!!

I've got a killer headache and in a foul mood!!!

Need to get rid of headache......

kirrinIsland · 12/09/2012 11:06

Another day, another stretch mark . My belly is going to look like the underground map if I carry on at this rate!

ShellyBobbs · 12/09/2012 11:19

Hehehe! Look what little gem I've just found Amazon bespoke bargain tool!

StuntNun · 12/09/2012 11:21

Shelly for that price from Argos I'd say have a look at the Gro Swaddle. I got mine from the Gro company along with a travel Grobag that you can use with a five point harness in the carseat/pushchair with a good discount.

That's hilarious shelly Grin

I've just been told I'm tiny for 30 weeks so that's cheered me up a bit. I feel bloody enormous so it's nice to be told I'm not.

DonnaDoon · 12/09/2012 11:45

I have just been informed that Ibrupfen should not be taken in pregnancy and that its paracetemol I should have been taking for my tooth pain.....bloody doctor/dentist conflicting advice.

StuntNun · 12/09/2012 11:50

Eek Donna have you been taking it for long? Are there any serious risks associated with it or is in just not recommended?

OP posts:
FatimaLovesBread · 12/09/2012 11:52

Shelly That's funny Grin Also second the gro swaddle suggestion. Have a look in TK Maxx, I paid £5 for mine instead of £11.99.

EW The occasional peiod-type pains are always lower front of bump so I suppose it could be more ligament pain and stretching
I don't know about large under bits, I can't even see mine!

Izzy I've had a google of some local physios. I've got a day off today, going to see how my pelvis feels today and back at work tomorrow and then probably book a GP appointment.

DH21 Unfortunately the due date wont work like that, I've had IVF so I know the exact date that I conceived but there's still chance of variation. I think i'll be a bit earlier than my due date but I know from looking at other IVF pregnancies that it isn't always the case. At my 7 week and 12 weeks scan was measuring a little bit ahead, but seeing as my date of conception is certain they didn't bother changing my due date.

Welcome Sosmum! I hope everything is ok for you and your baby boy. When I was struggling to conceive I used another forum and followed the story of a woman who's daghter was diagnosed with cleft lip and palate. They went through a lot, especially as her family weren't very accepting but she now has a beautiful 3 year old daughter. I can try find a link for it?

WRT things to still buy, I think we've only got a changing bag to get from the essentials list. I think we've got enough clothes for now but not sure, how many has anyone else got? We haven't got many newborn, they're mainly upto 1 month or 0-3 months. But I figure if it's early or small we can just send my sister shopping or do an online next order.

I've got a wonderful day of doing nothing Grin DH is working til 8pm tonight so i'm going to sort out the nursery I think and maybe do some baby clothes washing.

DonnaDoon · 12/09/2012 11:55

Stunt Ive been taking it for 2weeks but Doc says I wont have harmed the baby ....fingers crossed. Its been kicking happily away but you never know do you? Eek

applepieinthesky · 12/09/2012 11:59

I thought ibuprofen was ok to take as a one-off but not continuously. I have taken it a few times.

I think the risk is more prior to 20 weeks as well? Apparently if you take it before 20 weeks it doubles the chance of miscarriage but I would have thought it would be ok at this stage.

Thechick · 12/09/2012 12:04

Condeine is okay to take which I was really shocked about when the maternity doctor gave it to me.

DonnaDoon · 12/09/2012 12:06

Flippin eck Ive just googled the risks and it can cause birth defects etc....rang triage and they are going to speak to a doctor and phone me back

applepieinthesky · 12/09/2012 12:09

That's only in the first trimester though donna. Try not to panic.

Evilwater · 12/09/2012 12:10

I'm back from the midwife, I have sugar in my urine, She said that it's nothing to worry about. Smile

My dip stick lit up, so I have a uti. It might explain my large bits, also i think it might have come from when I DTD. Should I get some cranberry juice?

Everything ok, she said a looked well, also I'm very happy even the lady at the desk Commented. I think it might be the hormones. Grin

DonnaDoon · 12/09/2012 12:11

Ok Im trying not to :(

FatimaLovesBread · 12/09/2012 12:15

EW - drink some cranberry juice. Or bicarb of soda dissolved in water. My grandmas recommendations when I had recurrent UTIs

MissMummy1 · 12/09/2012 12:23

Evil I had glucose in my wee as well at my appointment yesterday. Trying to put it down to the sugary cerials and pint of fresh orange juice I'd necked at breckie time. My mw took bloods to be tested (a little pointless given I'd just done the urine sample) and if they come back I'll need a gtt. I'm in none of the risk categories for gestational diabetes - no family history, bmi of 20 pre pregnancy etc - but my mw seemed really concerned. Which made me concerned. Which made DH freak out and restrict anything sugary

Iheartpasties · 12/09/2012 12:29

doona oh no, you were only following instruction, try not to beat yourself up. Over here (oz) you are fine to take it in the first two trimesters (thats the advice from the experts).

Evilwater · 12/09/2012 12:30

Donna, if your baby is moving around I'm sure it will be ok.
The ibuprofen, is used for anti inflammatory properties, best for dental and skeletal pain. Ibuprofen can't be all that bad as they recommend it for kids.

Looking at the BNF, adivce is " avoid unless potential benefit out weighs risks"

DonnaDoon · 12/09/2012 12:33

Thanks guys Im scared to death here waiting for hosp to phone back

ditsygem · 12/09/2012 12:34

I can't believe how close its getting for us all! eek!
I seem to have days where I have a fair amount of energy like yesterday, and then others where I can barely stay awake like today. I'm really struggling with work, I have an important project that needs to be completed by end of next week and then I have 1 week of work after that before maternity leave - it's not long but right now I just wish I had finished already so that I didn't have the added stress of the project to worry about as well as handover notes, clearing emails etc. I feel like my body has just gone into hibernation mode and all I want to concentrate on is preparing for this little ones arrival.
I too am in the camp of looking forward to getting my body and brain back though - and to sleeping well! I feel like I might actually sleep better with a baby here then I do now with SPD and a huge bump! (i know I am probably kidding myself).
Evil - def get yourself some cranberry juice and keep drinking lots of water too.

Evilwater · 12/09/2012 12:35

Thanks Fatima, I might go and grab some While getting some milk.

Donna I'm sure everything will be ok. Thinking of you.

YellowWellies · 12/09/2012 12:37

Doona try not to worry I think it's one of those medicines that has different guidelines in different countries. It's not a blanket ban at this stage by any means - and lots of countries do allow it so please let that reassure you. I had a similar thing with taking anti-upset tummy meds whilst on holiday in the second trimester (like diacalm type meds) - the US medical advice was this is fine so I took them only to find when I got home that it's a big no no according to the NHS.
