Oops pressed send too soon. Needn't to say I hope everyone had a nice relaxing, sick-free sunday! :-)

HaitchJay · 12/08/2012 10:34

sunny I craved ice last time, was eating a supermarket bag a day as we couldn't make enough! Lasted until dd3 was about 3 months Hmm it's supposed to be quite common but I've not met anyone else.

Sheldonella · 12/08/2012 11:02

Aww sundae I'm glad that is sorted. I agree about sharing money in a relationship, DH and I put all ours into one account and just make sure we agree if one of us wants to buy anything significant. I realise this doesn't work for everyone but is great if you can make it.

Your seafront walk sounds lovely sunny, I would love to do that today but I think it is at least an hour and a half drive. Might have to do it if I feel more energetic before the end of summer.

Thanks again for all the lovely supportive comments. I feel a bit more positive today as my boobs were agony when I got out of bread and I felt sick after breakfast! Roll on Wednesday!

sundaesundae · 12/08/2012 11:30

Financially we are quite sorted, we have a joint account, a joint account for food/going out / household expenses and then have £200 each for what we like. So all the money goes into the first account and then we have exactly the same to spend.

I only get SMP so maternity leave might be a bit tight, OH should get a good pay rise tomorrow and we are putting away £1k a month into a fund to pay for baby stuff and through mat leave etc.

KFFOREVER · 12/08/2012 11:38

Good morning ladies, well just about. Having another lazy day.

Glad it's sorted Sundae. Men really have no idea what we go through and they have to start making (what they call it) jokes.

A beach walk sounds great. Enjoy.

backwardpossom · 12/08/2012 12:06

See the crunching ice thing - it's apparently a sign of anaemia. I was speaking to a friend who does this still (her girls are 5 and almost 3!) - she's a nurse and when she was pregnant with her last, the doctor on the ward she worked in told her that...

DH is about to take DS out swimming so I can chill out for a while. I've been reading The Hunger Games and have just started the 2nd book, so I suspect I'll be reading that and have the Olympic marathon on in the background... Happy Sunday everyone!

Morning all :)

manda I couldn't recommend a specific site I'm afraid. I googled NT scans at 13 weeks and then just trawled through the sites, there are lots of helpful pics and they show you where they measure and what counts as normal etc!!
sundae I'm pleased things are picking up :) men can be bloody insensitive, I'm very lucky to have a man in my life who understands that talking to a newborn all day is enough to send anyone potty so has offered to buy me a cheap run around and budget for coffee mornings, baby and toddler groups etc.

My OH has spent the morning pouring over budgets and costs etc... Kind of my fault really as I announced yesterday that I didn't want the £200 mcare travel system but the £500 one instead... My reasoning? I just feel better about it!!

I'm struggling a bit with food this morning. Rather than waking up and feeling nauseous, I woke feeling fine. Then vomited (luckily in the bathroom) without warning. I kind of prefer that, better than feeling ill all day!!
But as a result I never managed breakfast, just a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit. I'm trying really hard to eat a bowl of tomato soup and even though I'm really hungry it just tastes all wrong!
I had one of those moments last night where I thought everything was going wrong. I'd felt good all day and started getting mild cramping just before bed. Then without warning did an enormous sneeze!! The pain that shot through my right side was so intense all I could think was that I'd burst the cyst!! It took ages to calm down!! All is fine this morning though so no spotting or cramping etc.
I'm driving down to York this evening for 10 days of stress and raised BP no doubt... I really don't handle exam stress well!!

welcometo the newfaces and welcome back penguin I really wish I'd been more imaginative with my name!!! I hope you manage to keep up!! I just kind of glance over things and hope i don't miss anything important!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/08/2012 12:21

Hi all

Hope you are all ok. Sheldonella odd news on the scan date. Fingers crossed for you.

Welcome back penguins it is a hard thread to keep up with, as moves so fast, but worth the effort!

Feeling a bit worried as have felt pretty good for the last couple of days. Nausea seems to have subsided and not as crazily tired (still got sore boobs though...) Googled reduced symptoms at 8 weeks, and seemed to be several posts saying that it's nothing to worry about as HGC drops around this time and other hormones kick in (i think). Fingers crossed, just so nervous after last time and 4 weeks to wait until the scan feels like an eternity! Luckily, DH got up with DD thid morning so had a lie in until almost 10am! amazing! Had spa party which was really nice, but DD was a horror at bedtime and when i'd put her in her room, decided to stage a protest by throwing ALL her clothes from her drawers and shelves onto the upstairs landing!!! Brilliant. Toddlers: don't you just love them! Hmm

Torchhave been loving the olympics, will be really flat when it's finished. I have not a sporting bone in my body, but i have just enjoyed it so much. I normally am a big fan of the olympics anyway, but with it being here this time, its been so great and even though we live miles away from London, i've still felt quite connected to it IYSWIM. Torch

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/08/2012 12:22

oh my god, even on laptop, i still manage typos!! Not odd news, Sheldonella, good news!!!!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 12/08/2012 12:26

And oh my, you'll all love this little gem...
Sneezed last night, and wet myself a little bit! arrghhhhhhhh! Shock Shock Shock How come this has this not happened previously (after pushing out mega baby) but has decided to start happening now!!!
REMEMBER TO DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES LADIES!!!!!

JoJoBella84 · 12/08/2012 12:31

ethel thanks for the honesty!! Pelvic floor on the way. I've not had the privilege of doing a women's health placement yet but for those fellow students of mine who have - they come home every night and do pelvic floor as standard!! Without being pregnant and not wanting to become pregnant for the next 10 years... That tells me a lot!!!

backwardpossom · 12/08/2012 12:49

Second that Ethel...! Eek!

kirsty80 · 12/08/2012 13:56

Hey everyone! Ive not posted in a little while ... I check what you lot are upto about three times a day but I never have anything of interest to say! My updates: still no symptoms :( really crossing my fingers that all is ok. I miscarried at 9+2 last time but didn't find out until my 12 week scan. I don't think I could handle that again. Reassuringly though I sent hubs the shop at 11.00 last night for a jar of pickled onions, a chocolate trifle and a bottle if lilt! That's got to be a good sign surely?!!!

To those having scan especially your private one on Wednesday (is it sunny?) I am wishing you lots of love.

Hope everyone is having a lazy Sunday - I'm excited for the closing ceremony tonight - might even treat myself to a Chinese. Grin

kirsty80 · 12/08/2012 13:57

Sorry sheldonella I hate that I can't check previous posts on my phone!! Anyway good luck and lots of love! X

kirsty80 · 12/08/2012 13:59

Me again!!! ethel I can't wait to get to 999 posts this time round! Can our new thread be titled I sneezed and wee wee'd a bit!!

HaitchJay · 12/08/2012 14:06

I've got consultant tomorrow, probably a scan , they said at the last one they'd try again for a date. Starting to get nervous cos I thought baby was too small last time.

sundaesundae · 12/08/2012 14:06

kirsty seconding your rec for thread title.

I feel huge today, lying around in pants and a top as my shorts were too tight!

Having a nauseous day, I had thought it was easing, grr

KFFOREVER · 12/08/2012 14:23

Welcome back kirsty.

Selfish post alert. I feel sooooo rubbish again. For a few days the nausea subsided and managed to do some cleaning and get out and about but today Im back to laying down on the bed then come to the living room and collapsing on the sofa. I thought the worst was over but not. Im 10 weeks today. I've started getting headaches and heartburn too. Sad

Sheldonella · 12/08/2012 14:37

Welcome back kirsty and thanks. Pickled onions is definitely a good sign :)

Haitch hope they give you a scan and all is well.

sundae and KFFOREVER I thought my nausea was easing too but I feel dreadful today. Just got my first full on heartburn too! Not much longer until it wears off now I hope.

Ethel I'm going to be missing the olympics too! It has got me through all the nausea and feeling sorry for myself. I can't believe it is 4 years until the next one.

I've just eaten a fresh tomato from my greenhouse and it was delicious. I'm sure it's about to make my heartburn worse but it was worth it :)

tiddleypompom · 12/08/2012 19:26

I consider the smell of homegrown tomatoes in a humid greenhouse to be amongst the best ever. My childhood summed up in a smell :)

Got that uncomfy full feeling today again. Not keen, but it is at least a symptom of sorts. I shall be getting increasingly 'itchy' towards my first scan on Thurs - cue odd posts & sudden declarations of woe. Best just to ignore.

Also distracted by db and dsil currently with 2x IVF blastocysts on board, hoping beyond hope that one/both 'stick'. Keep your fx for them too - the power of positive thinking & all that!

Sorry for indulgent post. I am keeping up with news etc. In fact I am far too empathetic re: pelvic door. Truly a menace.

Sweet dreams all

newyearsday · 12/08/2012 20:03

Hello all,

My first post on the new thread. I'm keeping up with reading but not managing to say much, so much stuff on at the mo. Our car is a write off, so we've another car to buy, I'm starting physio on Tues to sort out the backache and whiplash, and counting down the days to my 12wk scan on the 20th. I certainly feel pg and I'm getting bigger by the week, my world revolves around food, drink and sleep (just like toddler ds) and I'm being a bit mental! But it will be such a relief, after a hideous tummy bug and a car accident, to find all is well with the chickpea. Good luck everyone with scans this week x

Today's food cravings: celery and fanta orange.

Very emotional that the olympics is all over, it's been amazing.

tedmundo · 12/08/2012 20:23

ethelred .. That had me clenching, I can tell you! And confession time for me.... I have had a small amount of wee come out with particularly violent retching. Oh the glamour!!!

sundae .. Glad a compromise has been reached!

haitch .. Hope you get a scan and sizes all add up!

kirsty and new years .. Good too see you again.

jojo .. Ouch to the cyst pain. But at least after the scan you know what it is when you get those twinges. It must have been a worry before.

sheldon .. I had a few less awful days but am back to feeling shite most of the time again. My house is a state. If I clean, I feel awful. Bending down is horrific. I feel like there is a lump of sick in my throat all the time. This is not a happy time for me and if I let myself dwell on it, I am pretty miserable. I feel like I am on another 2ww, waiting for the magical 12week mark to feel better.

There is no way I am doing this again. DH has already been told that once this baby is here and safe, he's getting the snip!

tedmundo · 12/08/2012 20:25

Tickets are left for Paralympics and we hope to get some. I am dying to see the Olympic village.

IBlameThePenguins · 12/08/2012 21:12

oh ethel... it's all glam isn't it!?! When I was expecting my little girl, I was having a really sicky day one day, and I heaved so hard I weed Blush... It's lucky they're cute isn't it!!

newyears, you poor thing. Hope all will be ok. Funnily enough, chickpea was my nieces name in utero too!

I had my booking in apt today...just got to wait for scan date now....eeeek!

FloweryBoots · 12/08/2012 22:17

ted I could have written that post. Glad it's not just me who constantly feels like I have a lump of sick in my throat and can't bend down. I'd been quite a bit better (still not great, but it's all relative Grin) in the week this week but yesterday was absolutly dreadful. Worst day so far. Was sick 4 times and any movement set of heaving. Urgh. Was really gutted as had been hoping for a nice weekend having been better in the week. DH took DS out for the afternoon to give me a break which was good.

Bit better today though at least. Managed to go out shopping, supposedly for DS birthday though didn't get him anything, but he slept the whole time so DH and I finaly had some adult time to chat. Came back and bought DS a train set online and booked a holiday and put a second offer in on a house we did a second viewing on yesterday so exciting stuff.
