Mini I've had quite bad sickness, now it's only bad if I dont sleep the night before Hmm but ho hum, not a lot I can do to stop it!

Queenofsiburbia · 13/08/2012 15:25

utopian I'm after that job too! See you in the interview waiting room Grin
stacey hope you feel better soon. Plain crisps & flat lemonade are good for replacing salts and sugars (not do much for waistline!) & everything little & often if your stomach is being squashed!

blackcurrants my friend's DH just grew a beard..... They have a baby a few weeks old! Luckily my DH probably couldn't, just a dodgy tache!
[uh-oh emoticon]

Queenofsiburbia · 13/08/2012 15:26

Sorry... Meant minipie about the job! Blush

minipie · 13/08/2012 15:28

Grin I think that interview waiting room could be quite crowded queen!

cherrypiew3 · 13/08/2012 15:38

Hi Everyone

Have woke up this morning with what felt like a stitch in the lower right of my stomach it has come and gone all morning and has now turned in to cramping around my stomach and lower back. (tmi) Been to the toilet and urine is very dark. Rang mw not in till tomorrow, rang gp no appointments till tomorrow. So have rang maternity unit she advised to take 2 paracetamol and then another 2 in 4 hours and go and see gp in morning. The pain does not seem to be going and I am getting worried. Anyone got any advice?

itsMYNutella · 13/08/2012 15:48

cherry that doesn't sound good... sorry I don't have any advice, I'd probably be panicking and going to the Dr's for an emergency appointment, but if DP was home he'd probably have me straight to hospital.... sorry if thats too dramatic and unhelpful but I'm fairly sure that's what I'd do in your position.

I find that Drs and their evil receptionists are snotty calm over the phone but hate telling you to go away in person....

Queen if I don't see you and mini at that job interview..... My plan is to study hard and speak brilliant German (or French...) and then work on translations and interpreting to earn ££?? .... hmmmm pity it isn't easier!!

FriendofDorothy · 13/08/2012 15:54

Sounds like it could be a Urinary Tract Infection.

MyDaydream · 13/08/2012 16:04

Cherry - dark urine could mean your dehydrates so make sure your drinking lots of water. Is there an emergency gp near you you can visit? If the pain keeps getting worse and you can't wait until tomorrow I'd go to A&E just to get checked out.
DP is supporting me in starting a small business which hopefully I can grow so by the time DS is in school I can focus on it pretty full time. Although at the weekend me and DP were talking about the best time to try for number 2, so I might be busy being mummy for a while longer yet!

utopian99 · 13/08/2012 16:23

cherry my hospital notes have a number they said to ring if you have emergency worries - do your notes have anything similar/ mine says 'triage' by the notes..

mydaydream am in the throes or starting my practice at the moment, and have finally started getting some projects in (will travel - am working on an ground floor flat in london and two storey extension in cheshire!) but also once this one is born we're hoping to have them close together, partly for their sake and partly for ours (!) so it will mean a lot of working around small children and babies.. Think I may just need to buy a tiny set of PPE for them to come to site with me when I need to go for inspections. Grinhttp://www.atworkwear.com/buy/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=72

Can I ask what your business it? (just being nosey - tell my to butt out if you want!)

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2012 16:23

Cherry you could always ring NHS direct and they will call back and likely get you the nearest available 'emergency' appointment. I agree it sounds like a UTI. I would wee in a pot next time you need to go because they will definitely want a sample.

MyDaydream · 13/08/2012 16:43

Utopian- I want them close together for them, I'm an only child so really missed having a playmate sometimes. A few of my friends have gotten engaged recently so I'm hoping if we start trying when DS is 18 months there'll be a few of us expecting at the same time when I'm pregnant. DP told me he wants me to go on BC and for us to have lots of wild sex once baby is born. Think I need to explain baby to him one more time.
I'm starting selling vintage clothes, partly just selling them straight on partly refashioning them. Plan is small online store and going to appropriate fairs and if all goes well renting a small shop once children are older.

Cookiesandcream06 · 13/08/2012 16:53

bubbless I demand you stay Smile
stacey really hope you feel better soon
cherry do make sure you are drinking lots of water? Hope you're OK.

The issue of money has been mine and DPs biggest arguemnt since conception. We moved in together just before we got the BFP and it was my house previously and DP still lived at home. He is VERY funny about money, very much sees his as his and is very private. I have found it so difficult, me and XP had a sole joint account, and although going forward I would still say to keep our own accounts this time, he won't even have a joint account?! We have had the caveman 'i must provide' issue lots and lots, and he just seems to think it's acceptable for me to 'ask for money when i need it'. I am a very independent person as it was just me and DD for 2 years and kept our family home and job etc, and this really has stressed me out (and was probably part of the reasons I have been treated with depression)
So to anyone who has been having issues I completely feel your pain, I am in turmoil- was really debating being a SAHM for a couple of years but now I really probs will have to go back to work for that feeling of independence/my own money. And now any calm discussion regarding finanical content ends horribly and I HATE to even bring it up.

First day back at work after several weeks off and deff a shock to the system although nice to see everyone. roll on maternity leave

ellliebelle · 13/08/2012 17:28

Just a quick question to those of ypu who have sensible ways of splitting money. How do you deal with bonuses above normal salary if you dont mind me asking?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2012 17:31

That usually goes towards our holiday or big joint purchases

minipie · 13/08/2012 17:35

ellie they get put into our savings account and then used to reduce the mortgage or put into ISAs

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2012 17:36

Put me to shame minipie Blush

MyDaydream · 13/08/2012 17:52

Not something we really have to deal with, but on the rare occasion this happens we spend it on a nice day/evening out together and any left over goes towards whatever we want. Usually computer parts for DP and clothes for me.

MyDaydream · 13/08/2012 17:52

But will point out its usually only £100 or so extra.

ellliebelle · 13/08/2012 17:57

Thanks :) dh gets regular quarterly bonus plus a sharesave payout once a year and i have decided to rejig our budget after all the chat. Currently our money is all together and we dont reallt have our 'own' money ( this is because when we first had joint account there was never any spare money to share out) however i do think a lot of the issuea we have as a couple are down to money and dh feeling he has no control over what he can/cant spend so hoping come january (after christmas and our holiday) we should be in a position to have spending money which i think will help dh

minipie · 13/08/2012 18:24

Spotty tbh I could easily have said holidays or big purchases like you said - I just think of those things as coming out of salary instead of bonus but it could be either way round really.

ellie I think it's a bit different if it's a regular quarterly bonus, that makes it more like salary in a way rather than an unexpected extra.

Bellaboo123 · 13/08/2012 18:41

Hi all wow some interesting discussions today...

DP and I work the same as utopian (pattern emerging we seem to be twins in loads!!!) although I earn on average £1000+ than him a month but I tend to buy more for the baby and general bigger purchases. I'll need to go back to work as my income pays such a big chunk.

stacey and cherry hope ur feeling better...Smile

My bumps been aching and tight today is this braxton hicks? Really feels like its pulling down?!?!

Can I ask how much weight everyone has put on? I've worked out a stone exactly to date - I was a size 10 before...is that normal or a lot of weight gain???

ellliebelle · 13/08/2012 18:42

Hmmm so yoy think it would be reasonavle to suggest that dh gets a set amount into his account and rest gets saved/put towards christmas/birthdays/holidays? If we change things and have spending money each month then there is nothing left over out of usual regular income for such things.
im on my phone so cant remember who is unwell but that type of pain sounds very similar to when i had kidney infection when pregnant with dd and dark urine would fit with that i guess.

I have eaten rubbish all day :( had gregga for lunch at a friends house then her dh made homemade pasties and i brought one home and had it for tea oops. Also veen a bad mummy and given tbe dd's toast and fruit for tea i feel very guilty but just couldbt be bothered cooking :(

Friend i saw today is pregnant and obly has 8 weeks to go im soooo jealous

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/08/2012 18:46

Bella I'm normally a size 12 and have put on exactly a stone. With dd I had out on 2 stone at this point so I'm very happy right now (with ds I was size 20 before so never weighed myself or looked at my weight on notes)

utopian99 · 13/08/2012 18:57

bellaboo are you both architects too? this is getting weird.. and just to freak you out some more I was an 8/10 before and have put on almost exactly a stone too (12.5lbs)..

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/08/2012 19:04

Hi all, similar to someone else dp and I put £1000 a month into a joint account each month and keep the rest in our own accounts. But if it builds up in there we siphon it into savings. We're both savers so it works for us but wouldnt if one was a spender.

bella I was a 12 and I've gained 6lb so far but I had horrific morning sickness until 17 weeks so lost 5lb which I've also gained back.
