pidj I love the sound of the teddy!

PurplePidjin · 12/08/2012 10:18

SIL found the dn's old playmat, so that's getting passed along. She's got a great pic of them squashed under it together - they're 7 and 5!

Lord only knows what state the bear will be in after 30 years in a loft Hmm

Bubbless · 12/08/2012 10:54

silly question- what size nappies does a newborn need?! will we need two sizes like we do with babygrows? :/

eggs- i got an advent bottle in the post yesterday as well, i was very confused! aha

spotty- thats always horrible, even worse when you dont actually like it yourself! what was it?!

nutella i love a good freebie! trouble is, there are SO many groups here that you can join ive forgotten what im already a member of!

friend im not sure if im feeling kicks yet either, dont worry :( when are you due?!

FriendofDorothy · 12/08/2012 11:47

I'm due 16 December.

2blessed · 12/08/2012 12:46

been feeling baby's movements for a while but none that anyone else would have felt iykwim. Just had a couple of strong kicks and surely one that you could have seen on my belly. First time DP has been able to feel kicks and just the two of us sitting here with hands on my belly made me burst into tears... Sooo happy right now Smile

Getting ready for our holiday tomorrow, hoovered and dusted through out, DH has cleaned the car, all that's left is clean the kitchen and pack (must not forget to pack!!!). Having a brief sit down to sort the sat nav out (It currently has USA and Canada maps on, not much use in Cornwall!)

My Parents seem to permanently think they are too young to be grandparents and have got rid of all the stuff from when I was a baby, was really hoping for some old fashion recycling!

HoneyMum21 · 12/08/2012 14:11

I've spent the past hour researching baby monitors. We thought we'd decided on the BT 250 ages ago but now I'm having doubts. It's now between that, the BT digital and the angelcare with the sensor pad. Can anyone offer any advice on this one? (gonna hop over to the review thread in a min too...)

Hope all having good Sundays. :)

Bellaboo123 · 12/08/2012 14:17

I had the advent bottle arrive too!

Honey I've just been to tesco and used my club card vouchers to exchange them for baby & toddler ones which gives me double the value...I'm now the proud owner of the angel care sensor monitor. It's on special for £75 so used vouchers and I suppose u could say I paid half price? My research found this was a good one in tests but I think they're are quite a few doing similar out there now...

HoneyMum21 · 12/08/2012 14:20

thanks Bella

hmm, wish someone would send me something nice and free in the post. :)

PurplePidjin · 12/08/2012 14:25

Which club do you have to join to get a free avent bottle? Dsil gave me her avent pump which has neatly made that decision for me, but i now need some bottles!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2012 14:50

Bubbless it was cous cous with med veg, feta and mint. I thought it was yummy it was just dp and dd who didn't! Dp's a bit of a 'me man. Me eat meat' Grin

EggsMichelle · 12/08/2012 14:57

I bought the AngelCare monitor at tesco last week as well! A friend of mine has it and it's amazing. I have steered away from the video one, the screen is too small to be significant and would make me extra anxious as I wouldn't be able to see properly!

Dont know where I got the bottle from, I know I joined Emma's Diary, might be through them.

Just had a look in the toy box, got so many lovely baby toys I'd forgotten about Grin

HoneyMum21 · 12/08/2012 17:57

spotty that Cous Cous sounds lovely. We would have appreciated it! :)

mwahmwah · 12/08/2012 18:05

Lovely day bramble picking, now to make the crumble topping Smile

HoneyMum21 · 12/08/2012 18:20

The pram we're getting starts with a carrycot- what kind of covers blankets should inusenin it or is the cover that will come on it be enough? I don't need a footmuff until we move onto the seat unit, right?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2012 18:45

I would just get any nice blanket, dd had a cellular one but for ds (hehe Grin ) I've got a lovely pram blanket from John Lewis

PurplePidjin · 12/08/2012 19:10

I'm happy to take commissions skint as a skint thing if folk want something really special (can't compete with shop prices, though, just the yarn costs more than that!)

mwahmwah · 12/08/2012 19:23

Don't need footmuff till they're in the seat bit and I can't see past a beautifully made shawl for in the lie down bit. I'm very lucky to have a wonderful shawl my mum made for DD, used for ds too, now getting used for this lo. They are suck fine wool that they wrap supersnug, and nothing beats homemade knits for newborns, old fashionbed but gorgeous Wink

EggsMichelle · 12/08/2012 19:25

Pidj I have the same problem with my knitting, I want to knit mine and new niece an Aran blanket, but the wool even on eBay is about £30. I'm currently using odds and ends for cardigans, knowing they will have sleep suits underneath to prevent itch!!!

mwahmwah · 12/08/2012 19:26

Pidg are u a knitter? Such a fantastic skill wish I could do it Envy

HoneyMum21 · 12/08/2012 19:31

thanks :)just to double check (as i am stupid) in the carrycot you'd use a blanket instead of the coverlet type thing that comes with the pram?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2012 19:34

Umm the coverlet doesn't actually touch them does it it kind of goes across the top? I would use both it's going to be pretty cold I reckon!
