StateofConfusion · 10/08/2012 22:13

daydream im avoiding it too Blush to begin with because of the previous mcs, now it just feels different Hmm

itsMYNutella · 10/08/2012 22:20

Thanks State glad it isn't just my skin.
To make up for it DP tells me he loves my skin... it is pretty good skin (if the splodge of eczema above my right eyebrow would just please go away) it's pale and veiny but nice and soft too, well it does it's job and keep me in (as my Mum would say).
Will ask my normal Dr about the skin issue at the next appointment. Latest scan pic doesn't look like a baby at all unless it looks like a fuzzy blob (or perhaps baby is really hairy... I think minipie was going to be in my hairy baby club) .... will get round to posting the pic over the weekend.

Night night all!

I just feel ginormous today. I was a size 18 before I got pregnant and know I feel like a massive ginormous ugly heifer. I keep seeing pictures on FB of friends who are also pregnant and they all have nice neat little bumps and just look lovely. I am just sad that I will not have any photos of me looking nice and pregnant and not just fat :(

Bubbless · 10/08/2012 23:11

mwah i dont know if anyone remembers, there was a program about when i was younger which was about a witch (or two) who had a skeleton friend and a cat... 'in a dark dark night, in a dark dark street'... my dd looks like the female skeleton in my pic!!

friend i think regardless of what size you were before hand your going to go through the 'is she fat? or is she preg?' stage! maybe you wont look preg until a bit later? please dont be offended!
i just want one photo of me preg, and thats to be right before i give birth / on my due date, as thats when il be most DEFF preg!

wide awake, i want to sleep :(

blackcurrants · 11/08/2012 01:41

Friend I was also an 18 and am now a maternity 18 .. feel rather large but a lot of it is edema - I have puffy fingers and ENORMOUS ankles. A lot of the weight when I was pregnant with DS was just retained fluid (I went up TWO shoe sizes!) and I spent the first 2 weeks of my life as a new mother peeing gallons..... and then suddenly shrank again!

So, yes, I feel very ungainly. Oddly, I feel better in my more fitted maternity tops, that show the bump, than the floaty ones that don't hug anywhere but make me feel tent-like and enormous.

DH is still keen. He fancied me all through my last pregnancy, too. Direct quote: "you're creating a whole human being! I've always found powerful women a turn-on..." He's tactful, I'll admit. even if he's got no chance now it's so damn hot Grin

EggsMichelle · 11/08/2012 02:30

Bubbles I remember that, but isn't that song from the other program about a big skeleton, little skeleton and dog who lived under the stairs?

Neighbours having another party, I really need to get on to the council about them, they are doing my head in!

I'm resembling a sparrow, legs are still size 10 but I have gained a stone in boobs and belly, it's not attractive, and not convinced by DHs advances!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/08/2012 07:10

Eggs I feel your pain with noisy neighbours Sad definitely complain.

Awful nights sleep, cramp/heartburn/nerve pain in feet/general insomnia! Oh well at least it's sunny again today can get out in the garden Smile

NaomiRuth · 11/08/2012 07:36

Nutella I think it was you who asked about swimming costumes... I have the black essential swimsuit from Seraphine? It's £22 online in their sale at the moment and is lovely.

My aunt is staying and has brought the huge bundle she got on eBay for me! Lovely Moses basket, bedding, towels, bath... It's set up in the lounge and I don't want to put it away!

Hope it cools down soon.

CODwidow · 11/08/2012 08:20

eggs I'm like you a size 10 in legs and then this round belly that resembles a ball up my top and these ridiculous boobs. Dh tells me every day how he loves when I'm pregnant and fancies me like crazy which I suppose is a good thing. But in all other pregnancies I've been into sex by now and with this one I really can't be bothered Blush

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/08/2012 08:43

mwah the 'in the dark dark street the was a dark dark house' etc is def the big skeleton. The little skeleton, and the dog skeleton. I love those books!!

Is anyone else still getting a weird taste in their mouth after eating? It's driving me insane!

pmgkt · 11/08/2012 09:07

Ds1 just ran up and head butted my bump total accident but I have never felt so sick and then the pain ran straight up to my head. Very weird. I've just come up for a lie down and it has had a little wriggle but all I can hear is ds1 saying mummy mummy and not wanting his daddy. I have already given him a hug but he is a mummys boy but especially when he's been told off. Dh is now saying he must never climb on me again, as if that is practical when I'm a sahm.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/08/2012 09:14

pmgkt poor you and poor ds! My kids both managed to boot me in the stomach when we were swimming yest, thankfully not too hard but they're older too and you would think they'd know better! I hope you feel better soon!

pmgkt · 11/08/2012 09:34

I'm sure it happens loads but I didn't seem him running as I was watching tv so it was a shock as well. Ds1 has just come up for a cuddle, he is only just 2 so although he knows there is a baby he really doesn't understand.

Bubbless · 11/08/2012 11:49

eggs you might be right, i was reaaaaly young when it was on!

pmgkt owh bless, it all sounds very cute, but painful for you! if you feel any adverse side effects makes sure you go to a and e

although... now we are over 20w do we go to a and e for preg related stuff or to the maternity bit? my mw said something about it but i was listenining to the heartbeat and not her!

HoneyMum21 · 11/08/2012 13:22

Has anyone else heard the idea about using adult pillowcases over moses basket/pram mattresses instead of buying special sheets? what do you reckon?

Bubbless · 11/08/2012 13:30

honey i havent.. but i like the sound of it! il keep an eye out for replys!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/08/2012 15:01

Bubbless after 20 weeks we go to labour ward.

Honey I've heard it before, makes sense really!

I bought a few maternity/feeding bras today as mine were all really uncomfy. And a new dress! I love clothes a bit too much

Cookiesandcream06 · 11/08/2012 16:34

Yes yes I've heard that about the pillow cases too. Especially when the cases I get from Tesco are £2 a pack and I have quite a few spares already. Also, Muslins work well at covering the head bit if you have a sicky baby as DD used to throw up on her sheets LOADS when in moses basket/pram and it saves washing.

I bought a Topshop maternity maxi dress today, still no maternity bras, my friend shouted at me but I'm seeing how long I can go with normal I know they say about underwiring but I can't afford it, I am about a 36FF I think so I can't imagine me getting one for a good price?

SpottyTeacakes · 11/08/2012 16:39

Cookies I think they say underwired is fine as long as they fit properly.

I'm really annoyed with dp. He only gets Sundays off work and he's going to be spending most of tomorrow cutting his nan's hedge. I know it's a nice thing for him to do but he's got three brothers and got knows how many cousins who don't work as much as him/don't have a family. Then after that he will want to mow our lawn so that's our only day wasted and me not getting a break from lovely, but very tiring, dd.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/08/2012 16:41

Cookies I only got maternity ones as my others weren't fitting anymore. Up until today I was in under wires.

PurplePidjin · 11/08/2012 16:44

What's the difference between a Maternity Bra and my 2 for £9 m+s non underwired cheapies? Is it the baby tax?

CODwidow · 11/08/2012 16:58

cookies I'm still in my usual bras just moved up a few sizes, I really cannot wear anything that's not underwired as I just don't feel supported at all.

I decided to decorate the lounge/diner and kitchen Thursday so I've spent yesterday and today just solidly painting/wallpapering Sad luckily dh is home to help today as although it's starting to look lovely I always forget how much hassle decorating is!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/08/2012 17:00

pidj probably nothing they tend to come higher up, so cover more of the breast, and have thicker straps

PurplePidjin · 11/08/2012 17:17

COD, today we took 6 arm loads to the charity shop (still need a home for a perfectly good tv, will ring local refuge tomorrow! Actually, we don't use the dvd player in the living room either so they can have that too. There might be a Wii somewhere too in a cupboard i haven't cleared...) and I'll be painting the baby's room soon First i need to send dp into my parents loft for the crib - it was mine so we don't know what state it'll be in Hmm

Mine come pretty high, and the straps seem thick enough for my 38Ds Confused
