tiddley and hitch I have put in weight too! Not brave enough to stand on the scale, but can tell by my clothes. It's not helping that I feel very very sick if I don't eat! So I have to nibble something every hour otherwise I'm hit with terrible nausea! Also very tired all the time and feel like I got a constant hungover! This is not what I sign up for!Sad I always thought that being pg would be so much fun! So far it has been lots if worries and not feeling great! Sad sorry for the moan! I just want to skip to the blooming period! Smile
woody sorry to hear your news. Fx doc will give you a positive answer! Thinking of you!

GummiberryJuice · 15/07/2012 11:46

Morning all, thanks for the welcome,

I too have put on a few pounds so have really started to watch the sweet stuff, this early morning wakening is not good, I even went to bed late last night still woke at 5.30 for a pee, thankfully fell back to sleep after tossin & turning for ages

Woody I have fingers crossed for you, I had a friend who was up and down to the hospital with bleeding throughout her pg

Sunny I'm convinced it was Zirtec I was allowed to take but can't honestly remember wiether it was before or after 12 weeks

Just wondering have any of you told many people,
with previous pregnancies we told everyone right away, just this time we have decided to wait,
as when I was pg with dc3 I drank too much water for first scan and they couldn't find her at first, turned out my bladder had her squished to one side but it was a scary few mins and we just thought what on earth would we have told the kids, although dh is not very good at keeping things like this a secret so we'll see!

Leftwingharpie · 15/07/2012 12:16

Gummi we've told a couple of friends who don't know the rest of our friends iyswim and DH has told his mum. My parents live abroad about half the year and I want to wait until I see them to tell them our news.

Hitchingal · 15/07/2012 12:26

Popinda I feel exactly the same in all respects! Don't worry about moaning x

JoJoBella84 · 15/07/2012 12:27

Gummi We told parents and siblings, all have been sworn to secrecy until the 12 week milestone though :) My OH is finding it very difficult to keep a secret though. He's desperate to announce it and thinks another 4 weeks is too long to wait :)

tiddleypompom · 15/07/2012 13:08

gummi we have told my parents plus one of my NCT mates. Other than HV that's it for now - we'll wait till we're in our new house before telling anyone else and suffering the 'what so soon?' looks. Finding it quite easy to avoid people at the moment as we've so much going on.

posypoo · 15/07/2012 13:26

Hello everyone. Jessi so sorry to hear your news but glad you know now and that you can move on. Am also impressed with how you have dealt with it.

Woody so sorry to hear you are having bleeding. How did it go at the doctor? Weirdly (after our same-day faint lines!) I have also started bleeding, and spent all last night having very painful cramping all over my stomach. Today it's fresh-looking blood, though still not much, but it also doesn't look too good really. I'm having a scan tomorrow at 2pm.

Hoping the rest of you are having craving-filled, lazy sundays! :)

tiddleypompom · 15/07/2012 13:45

posy not you too - how horrid. I really do hope it is 'just' an oddity bleed & not anything worse. There are so many women who bleed throughout pregnancy & have healthy babies - I have done a lot of reading on mumsnet over the last few weeks! Fx for your scan x

woody thinking of you following your appt earlier today x

Feeling a bit crap myself so going to get a nap in.

posypoo · 15/07/2012 14:02

Thanks Tiddley. I hope so too! Will update you all tomorrow.

Hope you feel better after your nap.

TinkerBellaFlora · 15/07/2012 14:06

tiddley the gender calc predicted (correctly) a dd last time. It says another dd this time too. I don't put much stock in these things but can't resist doing them. If we get there we'll def find out the gender this time again. It was lovely knowing what we were having, starting to refer to her as 'her' rather than 'it', and zoning in on names. I always thought I'd like one of each but dh and I were chatting last night and both agreed another dd would be awesome so either way we'd be chuffed.

I too have put on a few pounds which is esp depressing since only five weeks. Am still going to try and not put on as much weight this time but if it happens it happens...

Really sorry to hear what you're going through posy and woody. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's all ok and will be thinking about you.

ThreeForTea · 15/07/2012 14:08

post and woody :( thinking of you.

Hi to the new people!

hitchen I just went up and weighed myself, am four pounds heavier than I was. At this rate...

Still very tired here. Had to get up in the night with dd and watch 'In the night garden' for two hours. That programme is so trippy!

Have in laws visiting tomorrow so will have to drag myself up to tidy the house later this afternoon.

Nap time now though! Zzz

KFFOREVER · 15/07/2012 14:36

Jess Im so sorry about your mc. Hopefully you will be better soon, emotionally and physically to try again.

posy and woody- Im thinking of both of you. I can't imagine how worried you must be.

tiddly- Im definitely one of those women who complained they did not have nausea now Im complaining I have it. Have been at home all weekend feeling terrible. Nothing I eat or do apart sleeping makes it better. Really worried about work. Good thing is I have lost some weight I can tell from my clothes. Not liking sweet things so thats probably why. lol.

Unfortunately news travels fast and mum has been guilty of telling people even though she has been the one to say don't tell people because its too soon. Im glad work know so that being pregnant accounts for falling behind at work.

Anyone gone off any foods yet? Mine is Orange juice, rice pudding and yoghurt which I love. I actually cried because I had gone off orange juice while DH laughed because he knows how much I like it. Insensitive fool. Wink

Anyone's DH gone off of DTD? This is a talking point with us. He can't bring himself to DTD knowing we have a pea growing inside me.lol. 6 weeks today 6 weeks to go for the scan.

roseandroli · 15/07/2012 14:39

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the welcome and messages of support. I am thinking of all of you, especially posy and woody and hope you both get good news. I know how you feel--the uncertainty and worry is so painful.

I'm constantly symptom spotting and driving myself crazy trying to figure out if I really do have sore boobs (I've been groping myself a lot in the last week...) or nausea, or if it's just all in my head.

I am so jealous of you gals whose boobs are already getting bigger--this was the one pregnancy symptom I was looking forward to and it has not kicked in yet!

Happy Sunday to all, and thank you for being such a wonderful source of support in this bewildering time.

Popinda · 15/07/2012 14:42

posy sorry to hear that. fx everything is ok and as other said there are so many women who had bleeding during pregnancy and went on having a healthy babies. fx its you too!

woody17 · 15/07/2012 15:28

Posy I am really sorry to hear that. I really hope that everything goes well tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. They did say at the hospital today that although they don't call bleeding 'normal', lots and lots of women do have it during their pregnancies.

The GP referred me to hospital and I had to go to the gynae ward. Basically, I had internal exam, where they said that although there was evidence of some blood, there wasn't a stream or trickle so that was a good sign. I felt a bit more positive after that and a consultant came to do an internal scan. She couldn't find the heartbeat and thought that I had miscarried but before she could talk to me about management options, it is policy that another person of the same level of seniority does another internal scan to confirm. The waiting between the two scans was horrible. However, during the second scan, although the second consultant couldn't see a heartbeat she said that the 'baby' had grown since Friday, although about 0.2mm less than she would have liked (it's gone from about 2.5mm to over 4mm). She also said that the scanner they use is far less sensitive than the one in the EPU and that everything is still where it should be. So, I am booked in for a scan at the EPU on Wednesday. They said that unless the bleeding got a lot heavier (and it has now stopped) or pain became unbearable then not to worry. So I am still hoping that everything is ok. I am finding all this uncertainty really hard though.

GummiberryJuice · 15/07/2012 15:48

Fingers crossed for you both, posy and woody will be thinking of you

suzydelarosa · 15/07/2012 17:52

Ack just went to toilet and lots of red blood. Didn't think this one was going to be a go-er. That'll be three miscarriages now. Frig. Angry

mmmmsleep · 15/07/2012 18:09

In car on phone but just wanted to send s big hug to those of you who are bleeding or having worrying times. Thinking of you.
Suzy...if this does turn out to be mc number 3 that triggers a referral to recurrent miscarriage clinic to get some help so do see your gp if you're not already in the system. The stats are still massively in your favour for having a baby that sticks 4th time around (over 80%) Doesn't help the horrid time at the moment though I know. Sorry. Have everything crossed for you. X

ilpm · 15/07/2012 18:18

Really sorry to hear about worrying times for posy, woody and Suzy. Fingers crossed for you all.

mandasand · 15/07/2012 18:32

woody thanks for the update. you must be so worried, but lots of people say they had full pregnancies with bleeding so hang on in there?sending hugs.

suzy am so sorry to hear about your bleeding too ?will you go to the doc or emu unit tomorrow? (is there one in oxford?) Like mmmsleep says, hopefully you can get some investigations going. Three in a row (if this is a third) is rough and I feel for you.

Welcome wantayeti, gummi, nut and kitten - nice to have you all on board!

Sunny I too am off certizinine, my usual antihistamine, on doctor's orders, and I got another kind instead which work a bit, but not as well, book.

leftwing I've got wind and burping. I'm very attractive at the moment...

Glad it's not just be with the bursting into floods of tears, hitchin!

I've been reading a Stuff They Didn't Tell Me Before I got Pregnant thread which is both hilarious and alarming for those new to this game. I am as a result doing my pelvic floor exercises already!!!

Been absolutely knackered today. Had a two-hour nap this afternoon after coming in from the allotment. Bliss.

Also, I've got a random question that I'm not brave enough to start a thread about. I make my own yoghurt and I'm worried that it's not pasteurised. We start off with shop-bought natural yog, then make up some new yog with milk and a bit of the shop-bought, then use a bit of what's left to make more, etc. The process involves heating till the milk steams, and then leaving it out overnight, then refrigerating. Any ideas welcome! xx

Hitchingal · 15/07/2012 18:55

Posy, Suzy, Woody & all the others having a worrying time....lots of love to you all, thinking of you & hoping all is OK.

Had first actual sickness today, not just nausea - grim! :( Now it's passed and am starving. Think I am going to have to tell my line manager tomorrow as I'm very worried they think I am being slack and/or have a problem as I am behaving like I am constantly hungover!

KF I've gone off chocolate! Madness! Two choccie magnums in the freezer & thought of them makes me want to hurl. Eating own bodyweight in toast and crisps though so think the savoury cravings have it!

Popinda · 15/07/2012 18:56

mandasand can you give me the link for the thread please?

suzydelarosa · 15/07/2012 19:25

Thx all for your super-kind messages. Think my 42 year old eggs have given up the ghost. And now mad that I didn't try in my 20s and early 30s when I was working so hard towards my 'phantom' career. Drats

newyearsday · 15/07/2012 19:46

Hello everyone,

I've been on holiday for a week and a half and there's nearly 20 pages to catch up with! I have homework to do!

Have had a cr*p holiday. Nausea stepped up a level at exactly 6wks, felt like I was on a boat (was actually in a holiday cottage). Then I started with stomach cramps, which I thought were hunger pains because I was only managing to eat bananas and toast I felt so rubbish. On Friday we moved on to Latitude festival, with DS in tow, I was dreading it cos I was feeling so rubbish and none of our friends knew about pg. By Saturday the cramps had got worse and the 'd' started, I was up from 5am walking through two muddy fields to get to the loo, needing to go again as soon as I'd been, and couldn't take imodium. It was hell!!!! DH drove me home at 8am and looked after DS all day while I spent it in bed/loo. Today he's gone back to the festival to pack up our tent and see a few bands, then drive back tonight. I've had DS all day and am wiped out. And all our friends have guessed I'm pg.

Sorry for the massive moan, I'm usually a positive person but feel so fed up and ill. Holidays are such precious family time together. I'm worried about the baby (though I had the norovirus at 14wks with ds1 and all was fine), if things are not back to normal tomorrow I'll go to the GP.

Hope all is well with everyone else, I'll have a read back over the next few days and catch up with news x

PS I bought the travel sickness wrist bands for the nausea and they've really made a difference, having to wear them 24hrs cos getting dreadful night nausea too!

newyearsday · 15/07/2012 19:55

Sorry suzy just spotted your post, I should read before moaning my head off...I'm thinking of you. It's not your fault, please don't blame yourself. I really hope there's good news for you just around the corner xx
