Congratulations Loopy and Shoeprincess Hope you're both recovering well.
Hope everyone else is OK.
Not much happening here. Just the odd twinge and usual horrific night time pelvic pain.
Still waiting for the nerves to set in!

Loup23 · 09/09/2012 12:45

Hi all, after a 30 hour failed induction our little girl arrived by c section this morning weighing 7lb 6oz Grin

Macaroons · 09/09/2012 13:07

Hello all, quick update from me. After 30+ hours of contractions i was only still 3-4cm dilated, I had my water broken and induced at 3pm. Things progressed well after I had the induction. Epidural was brilliant! Could feel the contraction but not the pain anymore! Quickly dilated to 6cm at 7.15pm, and then fully dilated at 3.15 am, started pushing at 4.15 am and I think within less than 10 contractions I pushed the baby out! Baby Sheldon is 3.72kg Smile breast fed him straight away and he's now sleeping.

Many hate intervention but I'm glad I was induced and had epidural all the way. There was no pain whatsoever once the epidural was in, don't think i screamed at all when baby was out!

Good luck to those still waiting!

Rachel130690 · 09/09/2012 13:33

Congrats loup and macaroons on your babies. Sounds like it was worth it in the end :)

I'm still here waiting :( majorly depressed and very sick of waiting. Had a bit more show last night and what I thought were irregular contractions but now I'm not sure. Was thinking that last night was to be the night. I honestly thought things were kicking off and now I'm sitting deflated all day wanting my baby to come. Am sick of bouncing on ball all it does is hurts my legs. Pineapple makes my tongue hurt. And walking hurts so much.

So just gonna sit around today watching crap tv.. Hope everyone is enjoying cuddles with there new babies and I can't wait to be joining you in that feeling :)

ballroomblitz · 09/09/2012 13:34

Congratulations to leelteloo , loopy (love the name - it's a family one here) , loup , shoeprincess and Macaroons (did I get everyone Grin ) . Sounds like the boys are now arriving to even out the run of girls.

Hopefully you should also have a little one in your arms now Rachel

I'm not particularly nervous either wherearemyshoes bar the odd eek moment drifting off to sleep when I think about it. I think you just get so fed up by the end of pregnancy you don't care about how baby is coming out, just as long as it does sometime soon.

ballroomblitz · 09/09/2012 14:06

Oops sorry Rachel obv crossed post Blush

NightmareWalking · 10/09/2012 06:25

I'm popping in at this horrible time to say we have another Team Pink arrival here! My routine 38 wk MW appt on Thursday tuned into a emergency scan on Friday and induction on Saturday, 0 to BABY in 12 hours on just TENS & gas and air! She is perfect - 6 lb 9 and no name yet - as she obviously can't be called Jasper (was pretty convinced she would be Team Blue!) Born Sunday morning 1am, and home by 3pm yesterday. Bit shellshocked here!

Jules - the TENS was a life saver- it'll be winging its way back to you when I remember which way is up!

Congrats to everyone else who has popped & for those still waiting - I know it's easy to say but really make the most of your last days of waiting - I wasn't even meant to start mat. leave till Thursday this week!

leelteloo · 10/09/2012 08:06

Ah congratulations and well done Nightmarewalking : that does sound like a whirl wind. Hope you are getting over the shock and settling in at home.
I'm out of hospital today; Euan is doing really well and I can move about a bit. I am in a much better position recovery wise than I was with my last cs, so pleased about that Grin

WinkyWinkola · 10/09/2012 12:00

Nightmarewalking, induction and coped with just TENS and gas and air? Blimey, that must have been so intense.

Big congratulations on your daughter.

Did your scan say you were having a boy?

NightmareWalking · 10/09/2012 14:21

Thanks leelteloo & winky. No, I just had a feeling it was a boy, we weren't told - silly me!

sclayton · 10/09/2012 15:10

Hi all. I am happy to announce that I delivered a baby boy ( gender was not disclosed earlier ) on Sep 5. Did not get a chance to get to the comp until now.

Congrats to all of you with the babies delivered. The rest of you, Stay put, the prize is amazing.

Here is my birth story:

Contractions started around 1 am and by 4 am I knew the contractions were getting closer and that this was not Braxton Hicks. The intensity was also higher than BH. Went to the hospital then. After inspection, they found out that I was 8cm dilated. Contractions continued and finally delivered the baby around 8.30 am. The only complication that I had to face was that the cord had wound around the neck of the baby during delivery, so the effort required from me was more. All ended well. The baby scored apgar 8.

Haven't named him yet. Still looking for names!!!

TinkerMaloo · 10/09/2012 15:16

Hi all :) Congrats to those that have spawned in the time I've not been online. (Sorry not really got time to read all your posts at the mo)

Just to quickly update! Baby Arthur was born happy and healthy at 21.19 on Wed 5th weighing a teeny little 7lb 4oz. He is lush! I love newborns! :)

The labour was so easy! I wish all my births had been like that, not being on the drip made it so much less painful! I only had a tiny bit of gas right near the end rather than pethidine with the previous two. Pushed him out in 9 mins!

I went back up to the hospital when I was contracting every 3 mins but they tried to send me away to come back when they were every 2.... I refused to leave and was pushing 20 mins later... lucky I didnt do as I was told lol or he would have been a car park birth!

Good luck to those still waiting!

Wow, Congratulations on all the new babies, they're coming thick and fast!
You all sound like you've done brilliant jobs of it!

I Hope you're OK Rachel, you sound so fed up. It's not my due date for another two days but have a feeling I'm going to be waiting a good while yet before she arrives. I'm trying not to think of Wed as my due date rather two weeks time. So when she arrives before that I'll be pleasantly surprised!
I'm trying to carry on getting on with things, as much as this massive bumper will allow. Like food shopping and going out for little walks with DS to stop him getting so bored.
I must say, my food cupboards have never been so stacked! I seem to go to the supermarket 2/3 times a week since being off work!

I Hope all the mums are feeding/sleeping /healing well x

Rachel130690 · 10/09/2012 21:48

wherearemyshoes I'm feeling a bit better now, have sorta got over the fact he's late and have accepted that ill be induced on Thursday, but hopefully it will all happen quick and ill get to meet him Friday at latest :)

I'm just a bit nervous about the ins and puts of induction, and what will happen with me, but I have a mw appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping its the good mw, means ill get a proper chat with her about it and what I can expect, then afterwards me and Oh can discuss it so he will no what I want to happen and make sure I'm not feeling lost on the day..

But also hoping ill have another sweep tomorrow, even though first one hurt like hell. Which may start me off last minute. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully your little girl comes on time or very near it. Being over date is so annoying, too many people become interested in you.

Thali34 · 10/09/2012 22:23

Congratulations on more lovely babies! :) it's lovely how mums are finding the time to pop back and let us know :)

I think it's really normal to be overdue (for first baby at least) but somehow you can't help working towards that due date! For me at least, life after that date was a blank that I simply couldn't imagine! Now I'm there (3 days over) and its a weird limbo land!

Quite a few tightenings and Minor back spasms this evening so maybe something is beginning... Or maybe I'm finally feeling some braxton hicks!!

Thali34 · 10/09/2012 22:25

Ps. Rachel, hope you get yr nice MW tomoro and that things will kick off before induction on Thurs. But if not, you'll be fine I'm sure!

cjbk1 · 11/09/2012 06:08

Testing

cjbk1 · 11/09/2012 06:14

oooh it works! our baby girl was born at 11:50am yesterday ELCS which turned out to be necessary as she was lying oblique-lovely experience just took a long time to get fed and washed.baby feeding well just a bit mucousy (sp)
congratulations/good luck to u all x

ballroomblitz · 11/09/2012 08:21

Congrats to all the ladies who are celebrating new births. Hope you are all recovering well and enjoying the newborn snuggles.

I have the feeling I'm going to go overdue as well. Only been having the odd BH comparable to the loads I was having since I decided to take it easy and not run myself ragged every day. As I said to my mum the other day - what's the bet the section will get booked (as I'm not being induced if I go overdue), I'll gear myself up for that instead and only then will she decide to make a move just to be awkward?

wherearemyshoes my cupboards are heaving too :)

Hope the sweep gets things moving for you today Rachel . I have heard mixed reports about induction. My friend who had her ds a couple of days after I had mine found induction fine and did it on g&a - and he was not a small baby by any means.

funchum8am · 11/09/2012 08:27

Congratulations to all those with newborns!
I went to Mw yesterday and will be having a sweep a week on Monday and being booked for induction at 40+12 which will be 1st Oct. So it sounds like she agrees I am likely to be late, but at least I know when things are planned even though i'm not due yet (20th). Sooo jealous of all those with babies to love!

Sunflower101 · 11/09/2012 10:08

Just a quick call in to announce that our baby girl arrived last Thursday after going in to be induced last Tuesday. Had to have emergency c section at the end but all is well. She is gorgeous, can't believe she is here at last. There were concerns she might be a small baby but she was a healthy 7lb 1oz.
We are embarking on the steepest learning curve of our lives!

Littlecherublegs · 11/09/2012 12:25

Aw, congratulations to all those with their little bundle already!! Am envious!!!!! Smile

Its our official due date today though I just know I'll have to wait to get to see those littlecherublegs!! I havent had any Braxton Hicks / contractions at all and there just doesnt seem to be any sign of it happening yet!!
I saw the MW yesterday who said that she will book me in for a sweep on Monday (when I'll be 40+6) though no mention of being induced yet.

Hard not to be impatient plus am getting slightly annoyed now by people ringing / texting asking if its here yet - as if I wouldnt tell them??!!!

Turquoisecat · 11/09/2012 12:30

Congrats to all the new parents out there!

I'm really hoping that sprout doesn't decide to make an early entrance (die on the 23rd) - I don't want a Virgo, my brother is a Virgo and he was a bloody nightmare child. I am a libra and perfect and was a lot easier, so I'll have to cross my legs for a couple of weeks! Grin

flipflopper · 11/09/2012 17:44

congrats to everyone that has given birth! Lovely to hear about your new babies.

I saw my MW today (am 40+2) she did a sweep and said that it was favourable. She wrote in my notes that I was 1-2cm.I am feeling quite crampy and uncomfortable now, so fingers crossed it has worked!

littlecherublegs I'm also sick of the phone calls and texts- as if I wouldnt have told them if i'd given birth! Mind you, I wont be letting people know when I go into labour, I hate to think of people waiting impatiently for me to produce! Obv will have to tell MIL as she will be babysitting the older 2, but I will be asking her to keep it to herself! Whether she will or not is another matter!

turquoisecat I am a virgo (birthday 20th sept) and I am pretty much perfect, so dont worry lol!

rachel Hope you are ok and that something is happening for you, you sound pretty fed up. It WILL end though, I remember well the feeling that your baby will never be here! xxx

Rachel130690 · 11/09/2012 18:23

Thanks people, def feeling a bit more upbeat now :) seen two excellent mw's today and they say baby's head is right down there and fully engaged. Also got a good sweep, had to ask her to stop half way through so I could get my breath back :( was very sore but mw was determined that her sweep was gonna work.. So fingers crossed.

Came home and had a HOT bath (boiled kettle twice to top up) and since have been bouncing on my ball. Mw was very adamant to me and Oh I was not to sit on sofa rest of the night. Been very crampy since I got home and have lost more of my plug. So fingers crossed this is it starting.

Mw said baby's head was pushing her fingers away when she was doing sweep and recommended that if waters break to get to hospital quick as she thinks it won't take long for baby to come..

Worst comes to worse ill not meet him until Thurs/Fri and I've accepted that :)
