Evening all
SSC ouch, poor you, hope your foot hasn't swollen too much and the pain has subsided. But fantastic news for the CS. How exciting Grin
Blondie What an awful MW, I hope your DM gives her a hard time when she goes with you next time. There is just no excuse for rudeness. Sending you lots of hugs xx
Butterfly congrats on LO turning.

Went swimming this morning with DS1, the relief on the bump is just amazing, however, the bump always feels twice as heavy when I get out.

Had an afternoon in the kitchen, made biscuits in the shape of Crown and coloured them with icing, that was laborious and have made cupcakes with red, white and blue buttercream icing. Now ready for the village festivites tomorrow.

Had cramping most of the afternoon, pretty much like the other night, but I suspect it's just another false alarm.

Hope everyone is well and I'm excited to know who is going to have the first of the babies actually born in June Smile. Take care all xx

CathFin · 01/06/2012 22:13

Ooh very busy on here, and I'm going to struggle to remember who said what now too!
Blondie - horrid midwife, hope you feel better now, its so upsetting when you get a bad one!

Feeling excited for anyone having cramps - at least something might happen soon!

Mamma - hope your DP has sorted himself out! I do remember mine being off on the beer first time around and I got so peeved I rang and insinuated I might be in labour - that got him home and sobered up in short order! Wink

Went to test drive an S-Max today, think we might get one but are looking for a good deal and oddly they aren't keen on giving a discount if you pay cash they would rather tie you in to finance instead. Bit disappointing.

DH having a nightmare outbreak of skin issues, went and got antibiotics yesterday but today got a different rash so they think he has developed an allergy to penicillin - eek. Anyway hoping topical antibiotic and steroid cream will work.

Hope everyone has a great weekend Crown!

MammaInTheMaking · 01/06/2012 22:20

Thanks for everyone asking about DP and the car. DP has been very sorry about his behaviour, he's really ashamed and is surprised at quite how drunk he got. His sister (who has kids) has had a word with him too to explain that now is really not the time to be getting sh*t faced. He understands and it's taught him a lesson. My hormones have really been racing today. Even when we'd sorted everything I still felt ridiculously teary. Urgh! We got the car too and am loving it. It's the first car I've/we've ever owned Grin. Anyway....got to take a deep breath and move on. Can't dwell on bad feelings when they've been sorted out.

SSC that's so exciting your CS date has moved. You'll be having baby on my due date. I hope I'll be popping little one out then too....

Sending some nice labour vibes to those who would like them right now Smile

DairyNips · 01/06/2012 22:50

Just popping in to say blondie that midwife sounds awful. Who does she think she is speaking to you like thatAngry Deffo complain about her attitude!

Sat here with 'phase 2' of my hair dying attempts developing on my head. I was advised to lighten it with cream bleach/pre lightener then dye it blonde again. So
With the help of dh and a tinting brush I'm pre-lightening at the moment. It's nearly finished developing and the ends of my hair look pink!ConfusedGrin I have to laugh, I'm honestly past caring now, if it doesn't work this time I'll slap some brown on and be done!

CathFin · 02/06/2012 07:25

Dairy - think you should post a picture if you do manage to dye your hair pink Grin

Lovely live birth thread for some positive thinking!!!

DairyNips · 02/06/2012 08:07

Grin Catfin it turned out a kind of candy floss creation! The roots are very light and the ends are quite pinky.. I still have to put the blonde dye on which i'm hoping might make it look half normalGrin I'll post a pic on fb before I put the dye on, just for your amusementGrin

Good morning everyone, I just wanted to pop on to say 'GREAT NEWS' to SSC, I read your news last night about delivery date Grin and am thrilled for you. We will be having our babies very close together! Yipee.

Have had a terrible night and need to sleep off some pain relief. The parts of my foot between ankle and heel have really swollen and are quite painful to touch, bump is achy and have had the cramping from 3.30 - 5am. Has fortunately gone now so just waiting DH to take over and get some rest.

Hope to be back later, enjoy the Jubilee festivities those doing something, otherwise enjoy your day ladies and secretly hopes one of our LOs will make an appearance this weekend :)

blondiedollface · 02/06/2012 11:29

Thanks all for the comments, glad I wasn't just being a hormonal whale!! With regards to complaining I'm a bit uncertain how to as I don't have a Senior MW listed anywhere on my notes and because of where I am it's all a bit of a kerfuffle (sp?) I live in Somerset, but my Dr surgery is still classed as Avon (even though Avon no longer exists, MW centre is in South Gloucestershire, yet the hospital I'm giving birth in is in Wiltshire.. Do I make a complaint to SG which is the authority the MW is under? PALS have got a contact in one of the SG hospitals but it's 15 miles away so not sure if that would be the right point of contact? Sorry for all the Q's just seems like some of you have a bit more experience with this sort of thing, already being mummies :)

Just feel completely stripped of my confidence and authority when it comes to asserting myself for what I want for LO and birth now, never mind DH has said that when DM comes with me my ferocity will return and we will leave the MW with no qualms about what is and isn't acceptable treatment and that the MW in question is to have NO part in the rest of my care. (DH is secretly wishing he had ringside tickets, the Blondie women are a force to be reckoned with, my DGM is a retired Prison Officer!!)

Moving on and thanks for letting me rant away and have a good old moan - I have turned my upset into anger and energy wishing for quick, early and efficient labour.

The cramping and contracting have been happening more consistently on and off iyswim for the past few days so I'm hoping they'll regulate and be the proper start of something rather than just through middle of the day and middle of the night!

Dairy Your hair really doesn't look that bad, good luck with the blonde :)

Mamma Glad your DP has seen sense and you've got a lovely new car for when LO is here!

SSC Good luck for Thursday!! Getting so real that we'll have at least 2 more June babies this time next week - excited for everyone else let alone myself Grin

Cathfin Hope your DH gets better and doesn't need too much looking after so he can look after you!

Happy Jubilee everybody - I hope you all find your inner royalist (or at the very least get to eat festive cake)!!

Kveta I hope your little jubi-lady arrives for you over this long weekend :)

To everyone else have a lovely few days and take it easy! Xx

StarlightMaJesty · 02/06/2012 11:33

No idea if this is far TMI for y'all, but been having regular rummages of my cervix and the news here is that right at the tip of my middle finger, instead of feeling a bouncy trampoline, I can feel a slit like opening, so my cervix has come around to forward facing.

It now needs to extend closer to the opening and not be so hard to reach, but it's progress!!!!!!

Smallwonder · 02/06/2012 11:40

starlight Eeeeeeeeeeeek Grin
Keep us posted!!!!!!!!

DairyNips · 02/06/2012 12:06

Very exciting Star!!Grin

blondiedollface · 02/06/2012 14:05

Been contracting every 15 mins since about 11am... Really hoping this is it now (come on babyBlondie) and it doesn't subside. Will try and keep you all updated as much as I can!

Xx

StarlightMaJesty · 02/06/2012 14:06

I reckon I have at least a week. Cervix still thick and well back but it has just moved round that's all.

StarlightMaJesty · 02/06/2012 14:07

Ohhhh blondie! How exciting!

bemybebe · 02/06/2012 14:44

Go go babyBlondie! Grin

justwantcheese · 02/06/2012 15:07

Oh how exciting I reckon at least two new babies this weekend.

McKayz · 02/06/2012 16:21

Blondie I hope this is finally it!!

justwantcheese · 02/06/2012 16:42

Any news blondie?

DairyNips · 02/06/2012 17:25

Ooh blondie fingers crossed this is it!Smile

StarlightMaJesty · 02/06/2012 17:55

Oh, I've lost my cervix again Hmm

10000fireflies · 02/06/2012 18:17

That was a bit careless Starlight Grin

bemybebe · 02/06/2012 18:19
Grin
Kveta · 02/06/2012 18:45

hope everything is ok blondie

starlight I am impressed, I have rooted around for my cervix, but it's obvious that my arms are too short, or my bump too big, and can find nowt.

still cramping like mad here, it's so annoying. Have been getting 'have you had the baby yet?' texts and messages from former friends, which isn't AT ALL making me want to run a cheese grater over their faces. Also seem to have done something to my left hip - not sure if baby has found a nerve there? - but walking is so painful.

DH is off to the airport to pick up FIL now, so I have a week of emergency childcare sorted, but it also means a week of awkward silences whilst FIL refuses to do anything except sit in an armchair staring fixedly at the carpet whilst we struggle to find ways to entertain him. I am sending DH on day trips local to us as often as possible over the next week so I can get a break and not go stark raving mad. Just wish FIL would read a book, or watch a film or something (we have loads of stuff with czech subtitles, or actually in czech, for this very reason) but he won't engage. And if I ask if he (for example) would like a cup of tea, he will say no, then 5 minutes later ask DH for a cup of tea. It will be a LONG week.

right, have a lovely saturday night all! hope we get some jubilee babies this weekend, wish mine would be one of them, but not holding out much hope...

btw if anyone still wants to join the FB secret group (so nobody can see it unless invited to join it), please do send me a PM and I will give detailed instructions, including the initiation tasks :o
