SSC hope your foot is a bit better today and be v careful if you're helping to put together wardrobes. made me wince when you mentioned it. My ds ran my massive swollen foot over yesterday with his remote control car and I cried!
Kveta I had the worst dodgy stomach ever this morning (sorry TMI) and my ds was in the bathroom with me trying to put make up on me etc! Im thinkign its got to mean something as i felt so nauseous yesterday I only ate some soup and then an omelette for tea. I too dont feel like eating. DS is at nursery today so back to bed soon.

Tea you were very quiet last night so hopefully you had a good night? My dh had to stay in hospital when our ds was 2 weeks old and I was terrified, it does make you more confident though but I do remember the anxiety/butterflies feeling in my stomach when it was getting close to night time.

Better go as I'm feeling v rough again, oh the joys of late pregnancy!

Blondie please complain about that MW. She is obviously bloody useless at her job.

SSC Ouch! That sounds painful. Rest your feet and hope wardrobe deliverers help get them in the house. Have no idea about the cord clamping, could you call your mw? Despite your foot you seem to be in much better spirits. Good on u.
Blondie You have every right to be upset, what a horrible midwife (there always seems to be one IME) and I'm sorry she made you feel that way. I love the sound of your mother, what a gem! She is right to want to complain, silly woman, take it with a pinch of salt. She's in the wrong and hasn't a clue. Hope you have a better day today.

I think a few of us will be napping later! DH plans to be home at 2 today, phew! I so need someone around now. The sharp, stabbing pains are awful, they make me wince but fortunately the cramping just comes and goes and isn't persistent as it was the other evening. I am being lazy again this morning. I just can't be bothered.

blondie, that is shocking behaviour from the MW - I really hope you do complain! Maybe she'll end up in front of my barrister friend round who is currently prosecuting bad MWs and nurses for the Nursing and Midwifery Council

Mamma hope the car can be collected today with minimum fuss! I really sympathise - my DH has a habit of doing just the same, and it drives me mental.

BabyTea and I survived the night! The 2am feed was tough going, but I managed it, and he did settle very quickly afterwards, little angel . However, he woke again at 5ish (I think?) but for some reason I didn't feed him (at least I don't think I did?), but brought him into bed and he settled again, and didn't wake until I did at 8:30 and realised he'd gone for 6 or 7 hours without feeding . That seems far too long to me, given how tiny he is. Bad mummy . Co-sleeping seems to do that to him... Hmm

And this morning I reckon he brought up all of his bottle feed (only 10mls of milk with his vitamins etc), so he won't have taken any of those on board . I don't like all this vomiting, it seems more than just posset a lot of the time but the outreach nurse said its just because he's eating too much and overfilling himself? Dairy any thoughts???

It's Juuuuuuuuuune! Yay! And today, I am off to WISLEY with my parents! They have decided to take up RHS membership again so we can go lots - woohoo!

Well, had ECV yesterday (am 37+5), which hurt like f**k and didn't work :(

Am in the same boat as SSC and have a provisional C-sec booked for 11th or 13th june depending on when they can fit me in. Great.

Worst thing was, after teh ECV attempt, where they didn't give me anything to relax the muscles (we don't bother with any relaxants or painkillers any more, there's no need for it) I started having mild contractions and spent 9 hours on the maternity ward before they'd let me go home .

Am going back for a second ECV attempt next week to see if we can turn him. Anyone tried moxibustion or accupuncture or devil-worship or anything to turn a breech?????? Am getting desperate ...

Well, wardrobes have been delivered and the lovely men brought them in for me, which was great. Just need to build them over the weekend at some point now....

tea - sounds like you coped brilliantly last night, well done!

rhi - sorry to hear your ECV didn't work. They tried without the relaxants first for me too, then gave me the injection but it made no difference. I did spend all afternoon shaking though - not sure if that was 'cause of the injection, 'cause I was upset or if I was in shock! Best thing about the whole bloody escapade for me was the egg mayo sandwich they gave me afterwards - normally I hate egg mayo but having not eaten for nearly 20 hours it felt like the best food on the planet! Glad you're getting a second attempt next week - you never know, it might work. Did they say why it wasn't successful this time?

By the way, forgot to share this with you all last night.

I asked DH what sort of music he'd chose for the c section if we were allowed a CD. His response? 'Well, how about something appropriate - like the music from Alien when it's bursting out of his chest?'

Hi all, phew it's warm again here today, feel like I'm melting and the heat doesn't usually bother me one bit!

Blondie feel very on your behalf about the midwife. Definitely complain, there's a number on my notes for a supervisor of midwives, don't know if you have a similar contact, might be worth calling and asking about makung a complaint, she definitely sounds like she needs pulling up on her attitude. Your mum sounds lovely, hope you are ok today - try to let it wash over you x

Rhi sorry your ECV didn't work! Sounds like a trauma. The thought if resorting to devil worship to get baby turned made me laugh! Think they can turn right up to the last minute so fingers crossed.

Been for my 36 wk appointment today (although am nearly 37 weeks) still measuring big, so have to go back next week and maybe get referred for a growth scan & to see consultant, eep!

Tea I am glad you survived the first night alone.

For the first time in weeks I am keeping everything crossed that I don't go into labour. My Mum is away until Monday so I have no birth partner and no one to look after the boys in an emergancy. Well MIL is coming up on Sunday but is at her Mums about 20 miles away.

DH sent me a message earlier saying I had to do all the dressing of Baby as he was scared he would hurt her. Awww he's so lovely

Hospital just called me to re-arrange c section as they're overbooked for 12 June.

SSC Have you seen this thread? Its been in the top convos today and I thought of you and the others having CS.

so, had my scan yesterday, and as predicted, baby hasn't turned (i could tell by where I was getting kicked), but he had changed sides, so he/she does have room in there! (I won't get an ECV due to some largish fibroids in my uterus, so high risk of haemorragh)

Especially for rihaf these are the things I've tried in the last 2 weeks. They do say to do them before 37 weeks, as there's much less room for the baby to turn on it's own after that. But feel free to give them a try!

inversions - basically on knees from edge of sofa
breech tilts 3x per day - lying on an ironing board from sofa upside down
moxibustion and accupuncture
chiropractor
swimming, including handstands and somersaults
lots of walking!
watching tv lying face front on a beanbag
Praying to the full moon (this last one isn't true....)

None of them have worked, but thats not to say they won't for you. Personally I feel I got the most movement from baby when I went swimming, and from the chiropractor work

if nothing else, the accupunture was very relaxing, and my back feels brilliant after 4 chiropractor sessions in 2 weeks!

I don't have a date yet for c-s as they couldn't get a consultant appointment organised the same day as my scan, so will find out the lowdown next Thurs.

1st June - yay!! Congratulations to all! We have finally arrived!
Bebe is today officially full term. After loosing dd at 3 weeks due to her premie birth, you just cannot imagine what a milestone it is in my very worried head. I can finally enjoy this pregnancy or whatever is left of it (I think).
Just ordered MAMATENS, so exciting!

Just back from my 38 week appointment. Little starfish boy is still lying very comfortably with his head down but free and limbs everywhere. Feel like I'm wishing my life away at the moment, just want him here.

ffnorm here i am, feel a bit bad for special and rhihaf as my LO has turned,thank the lord!!
Not going to be too smug as i had to spend 3 and a half hours having scans and babys heart monitored today and have to go back weekly for heart monitoring until LO arrives, consultant also said birthing unit and pool birth out of the question as will have to be on monitor constantly from 5cm dilated:(

Anyway, I'm just posting to gloat - I made it! Maternity leave at last! And June at last! I also got some very generous John Lewis vouchers from work so I very excited about treating baby when it's arrived and I've found something crucial I need.

DEFINITELY lodge a complaint, even if it's just ringing the maternity ward and speaking to the head midwife. She should NOT be allowed to conduct herself like that.
