evening june bells. have just been to a talk on first expressions, how babies and todlers communicate and how to help them grown into themselves rather than what we choose I guess was the message, interesting, but I am so uncomfortable at the moment that I was dreaming of my chair and feet up position and didn't take part in an exercise so that I could sit and eat my cheese sandwich!
happy birthday ffnorm
dairy thoughts are with you, I am going through this too, have been all through pregnancy and if you need any support I can listen - you can message me
small I have really annoying period pains, is this normal? no idea.. does it mean we are on the verge of something? I keep getting the feeling that tomorrow something will happen but can you possibly know?
Yes sleeping is so difficult, love the sleeping upright in the car! I just get up every 2 hours or so/achey hips/ribs/heartburn/need a wee/too hot/cat sitting on me etc etc

CathFin · 30/05/2012 06:24

fireflies - slightly freaked by my outie - it didn't pop with the first two so I don't know why it has now! I also have my belly button pierced which makes it look extra bumpy under clothes.

Dairy, very sorry to hear about your MIL, hope the treatment goes well and she recovers.

Loving our shaving techniques - think I was way more worried about it first time around than I am now! I do like having my toenails painted though, especially in summer.

Dairy - hope the hairdresser can help, I went minimalist after DS and don't get highlights anymore and my DH still sometimes asks why I'm not so blond now?!?

Blondie - hope you had a better day yesterday too.

rachyroodle · 30/05/2012 06:59

Hi everyone, had a few days off the Internet as busy doing my last two days at work and having a tummy bug. Have just been doing some reading to catch up!
Now about to enjoy my first day off ( even if I am just eating toast!!)

Dairy so sorry to hear your Mil is sick. Hope you and the DH are coping ok. I'm sure the new baby will help her get through the tough time with chemo. Thinking of you.

Blondie sorry to hear you are having a difficult few days. Not long now and I hope your DH is really enjoying his new job. Have been hoping you are ok because all these symptoms must be really frustrating for you and the weather can't be helping!

Kveta sorry to hear about your friend. Hope all is ok.

Warlin Yay!! And congratulations

FFnorm hope you had a lovely day yesterday.

Seriously you have been making me giggle with your talk of cats and strange dreams. Have you been eating strong cheddar before bed?!

Rhi have been lucky with my legs as finding L shaped bath really useful in shower for fat pregnant ladies. Have been trying my best with the other area but goodness knows what it looks like. Been using the epilator blind and hoping I don't do myself any damage!!

Mck it sounds like Monday was a bad morning. Hopefully yesterday went much better.

Gwennie handing over work is not all that fun is it. You can end up feeling very judged and irritated. Glad to be finished. Not long for you now!

And everyone else hi! So much chatting on here. Really difficult to keep up. Am off to treat myself to a nice bit of dry toast. Mum staying with us this week and cooked me and DH a lovely dinner on Monday night. We rewarded her by both spending the rest of the evening being sick! Bet she is glad she came down. Hopefully I will be a bit more fun from now on!

Really want to have a few days off to get strong again and then have this baby! I can't remember who said it but I too have got surprise last minute stretch marks after being really smug that I hadn't got any. That will teach me!!

McKayz · 30/05/2012 07:00

Morning.

Dairy so sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope the chemo works well.

I have given up all hope of shaving. It'll be fine as I'm going to be hiding in a pool.

Hope everyone is ok.

Miniangel · 30/05/2012 09:38

Hi sorry haven't been posting on here for a bit but am active on the fb page.

Bemybaby how is the sore throat and fever now? I am suffering big time as well with cold, sore throat and fever. Went entire winter without a sniffle and here I am in this heat with fever and cold. It's horrible.

Dairy sorry to hear about your mil. Hope her cheomo goes well.

ffnorm hope you had a great day yesterday.

Hi to everyone else, can't remember who said what with pg and cold filled brain.

DairyNips · 30/05/2012 09:58

Morning allSmile

Thanks for the kind words re my mil.. surf thanks for the offer, sorry you're going through the same. Might message you at some point.

Slept quite well last night for once! Think it's cause it was cooler.. Just trying to tie up all loose ends before baby arrives now. Got a huge bag of old post to sort through, such funHmm

I'm 39 wks today. So a maximum of 3 weeks to go I guess..

I have read through the posts but now my mind has gone blank and I can't scroll back on my phone, damn!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 30/05/2012 10:12

Morning all.

Dairy - so sorry to hear about your MIL. Hope the chemo passes with minimal side effects for her.

Well, got all the baby clothes washed yesterday that I wanted to sort - still no pram or car seat though as DH couldn't get the afternoon off.

Feel pretty crappy right now as haven't eaten since dinner last night (think that was around 6.30pm) and have to starve from midnight until after ECV which isn't scheduled until 12. Trying to drink water and ignore the nausea / light headed sensation - fear I may be retching over a sink before the morning is out! Sad

Still need to pack my hospital bag too, just in case of emergency c section (very unlikely, but still, like to be prepared!) so will do that shortly. Having said that, I informed DH some weeks ago that the baby's hospital bag was his responsibility and it still isn't packed (I'm a complete control freak and need to make a conscious effort to 'allow' DH to be responsible for baby too, if you know what I mean!). Gently prompted last night that it might be an idea to pack it - response was that if I need a c section today he'll pop home to get stuff when it's needed Hmm. Still, I will resist the urge to pack baby's bag - daddy needs to get his arse in gear Grin!

Hey ho. Hope everyone has a good day - will report back on ECV later.

10000fireflies · 30/05/2012 10:14

Good luck with your ECV Cheese. Everything crossed for you!!

emblosion · 30/05/2012 10:15

Morning all,

Have read posts but mind now going blank! I've been on facebook more than here lately too!

Dairy v best wishes to your mil with the chemo. The treatment can really knock people for six but there are lots of drugs to manage side effects these days, and having such a caring supportive family will make a huge difference also. Hope it all goes well.

ffnorm happy belated birthday! Hope yesterday was fab :)

fireflies/cath I have an outy now too! It freaks me out a bit, ha ha!

Re. Shaving, I have done my best 'blind' but goodness knows what it looks like down there! Keep threatening to use DH's beard trimmer but he looked so aghast I decided not to (for now, ha ha).

It's a lot cooler here today, so am hoping to get some gardening done. Hope everyone has a good day!

Smallwonder · 30/05/2012 10:41

Good morning ladies,
Have been trying to write this for an hour and then got very side-tracked courtesy of veggie sausages, waffles, grilled mushrooms and scrambled eggs Blush I was hungry! as were the DC.
I hope you've all had a decent night's sleep. Some lovely cool air wafted in during the early hours, was lovely.
Dairy I'm sorry to hear about MIL and hope that your DH is alright on hearing the news. I quite agree with Rachyroodle in that new baby will hopefully help her through the months ahead. Thinking of you all.
Has the honey monster been set free yet? I have had too many 'incidents' happen to be brave enough to do my own hair, the last incident had my best friend say 'Ohhhh, very emo!'. I thought I had a dark, sultry, satin sheen kind of look, very much the opposite especially when purple hues shone through!
Kveta I was sorry to hear your friend's news. Glad to hear that DS is ok, I think my friend's DS just had surgery for something similar. How is he coping with it? And of course, hope at a whopping 39 weeks + you are surviving toddler, heat and general uncomfyness!
Cathfin LOL at your DH. When I returned home with red lowlights DH said 'lovely but I was expecting a blonde this evening' :) I don't know why but the red looked so radiant at the salon.
Rachy Hoping you manage to keep the dry toast down. Get well asap.
surfmama how are you feeling now? Are the cramping pains easing? I had a really uncomfortable couple of days with it, now I just feel like something is permanently lodged between my legs and walking is frustrating but must keep repeating my mantra 'not long to go'.
Fireflies Hope all is well in the FF household. How are you doing in general?
TDW Bet you're enjoying every day at the moment, and you're pretty close to EDD too! Must be lovely to have DH home.
Gwennie I'm sure you'll be planning a celebration of some sort by the weekend. A Jubilee one perhaps? Well done on getting to the end of what must've been a long term. Happy mat leave to you!
rhiraf Yup, me too. Have been like that for months though. I am most comfortable when sat upright but unfortunately I do tend to wake with neck/back pain. I guess is a small price to pay just to be able to sleep. Hope you're well.
Ceej hope you too are well today.
To everyone else that I've just scrolled but didn't have replies for McK, Amethyst, Starlight, wishing you all a pleasant, stress free day (if that is possible of course!) Oh and re: placenta, took mine home in plastic box!

Off to hospital later to meet with the team, am so very much hoping my DC will sit like angels and let me focus. If I can manage the house and kids alone until Sunday I'll be one very happy bunny. DH will hopefully take a week off as of Monday. Here's hoping!

Talk soon. Will leave you with my epic now x

DairyNips · 30/05/2012 10:59

Will post properly later but just wanted to share that I bought a nursing bra BNIB off eBay and was so pleased with my bargain. It just arrived, preggo brain strikes again, it's a maternity bra, not a nursing bra, I don't even notice it said that on the listing! Silly me, will have to re- list it now!

thedogwalker · 30/05/2012 12:31

Hello all
Dairy Sorry to hear about your MIL, hope the chemo works and sending you all lots of hugs.
SSC wishing you lots of luck for your ECV, hope the LO turns for you.

I've been busy cleaning the whole house again, definitely nesting, but I seem to want to do it all every few days, DH can't keep up with me.

Hope everyone is having a good day, take care xx

McKayz · 30/05/2012 12:36

Afternoon.

Small I hope it goes well at the hospital. I will send angel vibes to your DCs Grin

Seriously I really hope the ECV works and isn't too painful. I have heard it can be horrible.

TDW I always thought I was a wimp. I had my bikini line waxed once and would rather go through childbirth everyday. I think having my bikini line waxed is the most painful thing I have ever gone through.

I went to an auction with my Mum and Step Dad this morning. I resisted the urge to by lots of boxes of tat for a few quid. But my gosh the seats were uncomfy and my hips aren't impressed.

Hope you are all well x

rhihaf · 30/05/2012 13:35

Dairy - [hugs]

Ah it's so refreshing coming on here and hearing reality! Grin

I used to bikini wax regularly but after moving house haven't found a decent waxer :( and I know how much it can hurt when somebody mediocre/crap does it. Angry

Honestly, it isn't that painful with a good waxist (is that a term??).

I managed to shave my legs in the bath last night (we don't have one here so went over to my parents' house) :) and properly scrubbed my trotters. It really is nice to feel clean and shiny and smell nice again. Showers just don't offer the same experience!

Am sure topiary discussion will pale into insignificance when I'm in labour, but as it's the first one [naive emoticon] I can't help worrying about fanjo etiquette...

Hello everyone [waves], hope we can all get some welcome relief with this cooler weather. Am currently enjoying Lidl Toffee Waffles from the fridge - damn they're gooooooood!

Who will have the first official Jubilee Baby then? [excited]
xxx

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 13:39

Hmm, homebirth booking didn't go too well.

Bit of a conflict of opinions.

blondiedollface · 30/05/2012 14:32

Has anyone else's bump gotten noticeably smaller near the end? I'm a bit worried, but have MW appt tomorrow so am going to leave it and ask her then.. All of a sudden my bump feels much smaller and (gross) the skin on the 'underbump' if that makes sense is all loose and empty and flabby!! LO is fine, hiccuping away and giving the odd wriggle.. But I have my own tape measure inside my mat file and because I'm of a curious nosey nature all along I've been measuring my bump and getting the same measurement as the MW but today it seems to have decreased by over 3cm! Maybe baby has just descended even lower (if that's possible?).

Dairy Sorry to hear of your MIL, but chemo albeit a tough process works well and I've seen so many positive outcomes, your LO will be sure to give her something to focus on getting better for too :)

Small Hope your consult goes well!

Waves to everyone else from behind this baby brain, hope the heat and humidity are being kind to you Xx

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 14:38

Baby gets small as he/she drops into the pelvis.

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 14:38

Obviously baby doesn't get smaller, but bump does.

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 14:39

Sorry for your mil Dairy. Hope th next couple of years are manageable for you all.

blondiedollface · 30/05/2012 14:53

But my LO has already been fully engaged for a good couple of weeks, so surely there's nowhere else to go but out? My bump stayed the same for 2 weeks around the time she dropped so I guess I'm just surprised it's gotten smaller.

Trying to avoid Dr Google at all costs, as I know it'll just worry me and I don't want that!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 30/05/2012 15:07

Well, sum total of today's ECV efforts:

1 x baby still with arse firmly stuck in mother's pelvix
1 x mother that feels like she has been kicked repeatedly in the stomach by a large horse
1 x c section booked for 12 June

Much crying has been done and, I suspect, is still to be done Sad

It's not the c section I mind, it's the stay in hospital afterwards. Need to find a way to accept this but think it's going to take a while.

10000fireflies · 30/05/2012 15:19

Oh poor you Cheddar. Sad

CathFin · 30/05/2012 16:14

Oh dear Cheddar, would they even countenance a breech delivery if you wanted one? I only mention it because I know from another forum I'm on that one of the ladies had a planned breech delivery.
Would you also get them to check the baby is still breech on 12th June just in case - you never know...
Saying that a planned section means you can get everything set up for your recovery and you will be well looked after.... plus a vaginal delivery can sometimes be a heck of a thing to get over anyway....
Hope you feel more positive about it soon!

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 16:18

What kind of breech?

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/05/2012 16:20

Homebirth midwife said no to delivering placenta in the pool.

Said no to gas and air in early stages.

Said midwife comes out when cx are 1.5 mins long.

All strange things IMO, particularly as never had 1.5mins long cx in either previous labour.
