T
Thanks coops hoping It's not too much longer, this is my 2nd ,my 1st will be 9 in July so I've forgotten what to do with babies :) hope you enjoy your mat leave, do a bit of pottering/ nesting and get some rest x
surf and gwennie sounds really nice all this cooking and cordial making, could do with a,glass now whilst sat in the garden.
Thanks ellybett for the labour vibes, sorry your hips have been hurting, I find the best way to sleep with sore hips is on the sofa because it pushes me forward slightly on to a pillow and somehow doesn't hurt as much. I hope you get a better night tonight.
dairy how did the sweep go? Anything happening?
rachy don't really know how I feel about having a sweep, the mw said it is definitely more natural than having induction but only has about 50 percent success rate. I really wanted to start naturally this time but as I get more and, more overdue I think it Will end up me being induced. I am seeing my consultant tomorrow about my slightly dodgy heart and hoping he will wave a magic wand and tell me baby is on its way Grin

CathFin · 13/06/2012 15:23

Ffnorm - think you will win the 'most dramatic birth' of the month for that one! Glad it all turned out okay! Congratulations!

CathFin · 13/06/2012 15:26

Rachy first time around they tried a sweep at 40 weeks but my cervix was def not ready at that point so they couldn't do one, they did a second successful one at 40+9 and DD was born 40+10. I would ask, I'm not precious about my bits down there so I don't mind internals, prefer to know the lie of the land as it were than be wondering!

Shelduck · 13/06/2012 15:31

Congrats Kveta! I'm so pleased your DD has arrived safe and sound. i know it's been a struggle for you, so hoping you can now get on an enjoy being a second time mummy. Hope DD provides as good stories as DS has!

Well, I'm now one day on from sweep. Had show in the night, LO has gone from "at brim" to 3/5 engaged, and am now having some very small twinges. valuable second-hand experience from you lovely ladies tells me not to get too excited Wink but at least things are actually moving. Not holding out for avoidance of induction on friday, but the further my body can get on its own in the meantime, the less intrusive the induction will be.

DH made decision to take a couple more days leave, so he's now home for the duration, which is brilliant.

rachy don't really know what to advise, but all i can say is that i thought the sweep was fine - hurt a bit but no worse than eyebrow plucking! I think star might be a bit more clued up on this?!

Hi to everyone else! Xxx

StarlightMaJesty · 13/06/2012 15:32

Blimey ffnorm you sound very calm about the whole thing! Hope you're okay. Lovely/funny story to tell her when she's older.

StarlightMaJesty · 13/06/2012 15:34

My, this waiting is getting boring! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

McKayz · 13/06/2012 15:38

Wow Ffnorm that's an amazing story!!!!

I'm really not feeling well today. I've got a poorly tummy, not sure if it's a bug or I've eaten something dodgy. Just feel really drained Sad

Shelduck · 13/06/2012 15:39

ffnorm - wow that was pretty dramatic! So glad it all worked out OK! And i know it's missing the point of the story, but felt very excited at your mention of Romford, as that's thereabouts where i'm from originally, and I've been feeling envious of all the Bristol connections!

TeaandHobnobs · 13/06/2012 16:02

Wow ffnorm, what a story! Yeesh! So pleased you are both well (you look very well in your photos, considering such an ordeal!). Hope you get some well-earned rest now (tiny baby permitting) Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 13/06/2012 16:03

My mum's from Romford Shelduck Grin

justwantcheese · 13/06/2012 16:46

Wow ffnorm amazing story, glad it was so speedy for you! Congratulations x

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 16:49

Hi all, not caught up with today's posts yet but just letting you know how my appointment..

Sweep was ok, she said I'm a stretchy 3cm and partially effaced. Bishops score of 6.. The hosp wouldn't book my induction any earlier so they booked it for wed 20th My dh will currently be negotiating with his boss what will happen if I end up 2 weeks over and he can't take his leave till the wed. Just an extra stress we really don't need..

Hoping as the situation was favourable that I'll go in to labour soon. Fingers and toes (but not legs) crossed!

justwantcheese · 13/06/2012 19:30

dairy fingers crossed for early, the sweep sounds promising. Hope oh manages to sort out pat leave, how annoying for you.
Feel a little bit crampy today, hope its not just wishful thinking!

rhihaf · 13/06/2012 20:22

Hello everyone,

Had my c-sec on Monday and LO was born at 2.31pm, 9lbs of him! Just got home a few hours ago, was in a fair bit of pain yesterday but feel a million times better today and can't believe how amazing babies are!! Grin

We can't stop looking at him, he's SO cute and makes all these cute noises and is sooo chilled out :) Does every mother feel like this? Hmm

Any tips for sore nipples please? Confused am B-feeding but he's a big boy and they are already pretty damn sore...

Thanks for all the help and advice on here, you've all really helped me through my hormonal rollercoaster Wink and Thanks to everyone who needs a hug at the mo. What a lot to catch up on!

Sending most baby-active vibes possible to everyone left on here - come on you bubbas, get those bums a-movin!

Congrats to everyone who's had their bundle of joy since Monday - I've been away too long! xxxxx

AmethystMoon · 13/06/2012 20:22

Wow ffnorm how 'exciting' was your labour!? You sound like you dealt with it brilliantly, Shock to baby's foot being visible!!! So glad you're both okay Smile
mckayz sorry you're feeling crap today Sad hope you feel better soon x

I made a huge batch of beef bourginone (prob spelt wrong Blush) to freeze ready for LO's arrival, smells yummy Smile
I made loads of hot curries to freeze but thinking about it that might not be a good idea so soon after labour IYSWIM Grin

CathFin · 13/06/2012 20:32

Congrats rhihaf! Another baby - woo hoo!
Have you got Lansinoh for your nipples - I found that particularly good.

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 20:38

Gwennie I like the full days pay plan when you get questions, could work out to be quite profitable!Wink

rachy Did you get the sweep?

ffnorm wow, what an exciting birth story! Glad they got her out just in time!

justwants hope you get some action soon or that the dr waves his magic wand..

Shelduck Glad the sweep seems to have done something. As you say, even if you end up being induced you should be well on your way by thenSmile

Star yes the waiting is very boring.

Mckayz Sorry you're feeling so awful today. You're really having a time of it lately. Hope you feel better soon..

My dh seems to have sorted the paternity leave problem. He just stood his ground and told his boss that if I go over and end up being induced on wed 20th then he wants two weeks off as planned and his boss will just have to work around that. His boss was arsey and was complaining it would mean the branch would be short of staff for 3 days (short but not too short to cope!) and Dh just said he had had to cope on that amount of staff several times so no reason why his boss couldn't cope for a few days. The tall and short of it is that his boss is really lazy and hates the thought he might actually have to do some work for once. Anyway, it seems to be ok now, his boss is accepting that will be the case if I go that lateSmile

My sweep didn't feel that bad, one of the bette ones i've had, I'm assuming thats cause I'm a stretchy 3cm and partially effaced. Hope it does the trick, a little achy but nothing else so far..

blondiedollface · 13/06/2012 21:16

Am off to the hosp, frequent cx, in a LOT of pain. Will fb someone to update as cannot MN from phone.

Xx

McKayz · 13/06/2012 21:22

Blondie fingers crossed its not a false alarm!! Hope it's quick and fairly pain free!

Rhihaf congratulations. Grin

I have a MW appt tomorrow and I'm going to see what date I get for induction. With both boys I was given a rough date at 39 weeks. So will see if they still do that.

My SPD is getting worse too as I can feel and hear my pelvis or hips or some bones grinding against each other. My mum was in shock this morning when she watched me struggle to walk in the house.

I wanted to be pregnancy so much and now I'm hating it to the point I spend most of the day crying.

Sorry Sad

McKayz · 13/06/2012 21:22

Pregnant not pregnancy.

SpecialJK · 13/06/2012 21:23

!

Sorry for those hanging around with LO's keeping them waiting. Just reaching 38+5 and I've certainly got hugely more uncomfortable this week. Due c-s for my breech baby on Monday

ffnorm dramatic story! But loved description of the foot coming out. Just repeated it to DH and think its got him a little worried incase ours decides to make an early appearance Smile

dairy glad you got paternity sorted, and fingers xd that you get moving before next Wednesday, sounds like your body is definitely gearing up

Hi to everyone else on the thread, there's so much going on at the moment! I think we're going to run out of space on this one before all the babies make their arrivals!

DairyNips · 13/06/2012 21:24

Wow blondie good luck!

StarlightOverJuicy · 13/06/2012 21:37

Aw, congratulations rhi

StarlightOverJuicy · 13/06/2012 21:43

Dairy - Yay to your DH for tackling his boss and winning.

StarlightOverJuicy · 13/06/2012 21:44

Good luck blondie
