Morning everyone and congratulations ssc on the new arrival! Well, I am 40 weeks pregnant today so I think destined to join the overdue club. Have planned something nice for every day this week so if no LO I will not be too disappointed!

Gwennie I also managed my first aqua natal class yesterday and it was lovely to be able to move in the water without feeling like a ton weight. Wish they hadn't been during the day so I could have gone pre mat leave!

Small so are you saying cankles don't magically disappear after labour. I'm so disappointed!! I was prepared not to lose all of my belly straight away but thought the cankles would be gone! Hope you are feeling better soon.

Dairy and Kveta definitely your turn to have babies now. Hope you are both ok and not fed up.

Shelduck know what you mean about feeling big love for the DH at the moment. Not sure if it is the hormones or that he went out in the pouring rain to satisfy my strong desire for a kit kat last night! I think as well it is the thought that after 10 years not just going to be just the two of us anymore. Makes me quite teary thinking about it but obvs very excited about there being 3 of us instead.

Am off to a slingmeet today to try to hire one for the first month. Has anyone got any recommendations. I feel like I would like to buy a really soft one but am a bit scared of the ones you have to tie yourself. Would hate to drop my new baby on the floor because I have never mastered knots!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

rachyroodle · 12/06/2012 05:45

Amethyst forgot to say sounds like your DH did an amazing job in the floods! Can't believe how bad the rain has been down here!!

Novmama · 12/06/2012 06:23

An early one from me - have been up since 1.30 am. Contractions have started and small amount of blood appeared - not quite a show but. Contractions every 15 mins so far, lasting about 1 min. Hospital have said all the usual - so having early breakfast and will then have a bath. Wish me luck! Hope we don't end up in theatre! Smile
Congrats SSC

CathFin · 12/06/2012 06:40

Ooh yes good luck Novmama! Feels like June has finally really arrived now there are a few babies on their way!

Nothing here but I'm 'only' 39 weeks tomorrow! About 6 people told me I looked like I was ready to pop yesterday - useful!
The staff in Waitrose always like to have a chat too - luckily I don't mind too much!

rhibutterfly · 12/06/2012 06:43

Congratulationsssc tell your poor DH to get used to the peeing lol xx
Good luck novmamaxx

McKayz · 12/06/2012 06:47

Good luck Novmama!!!! Hope all goes well

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 07:48

Ah wow, best of luck NovaSmile

I actually slept well last night apart from a loo break. No sign of baby today, almost feel like I never had all those contractionsSad

justwantcheese · 12/06/2012 07:53

Good luck novmama sounds very promising today.
Mckayz hope you manage a nap today after your very early start . How far on are you?
Gwennie, how's the leak? Sounds stressful for you.
Sounds very relaxing the aqua classes quite fancy it myself but costume definitely does not fit.
Congrats ssc ,love the changing mat story.
Dairy,anymore contractions?
Wonder how Kveta is,doing?

40+6,today not happy, got to see consultant on Thursday re my dodge breathing ,I'm hoping for a baby by then !

Have a nice day all, sunny here Xxx

crackersncheese · 12/06/2012 08:19

Morning ladies,

Internet goes down for a couple of days and I'm 10 pages behind. All your tales have cheered me up no end this morning.

I'm with you on the stupid stop start contractions Dairy. On Friday I had 6 hours of contractions every 10 minutes. Saturday, a bit achey but nothing. Sunday 12 hours of contractions up to every 5 minutes and strong enough for a few hours to start getting exctited. Yesterday absolutely nothing, apart from a bit of wiggling from baby I may as well not be pregnant.

House is absolutely spotless, there is not a cupboard that hasn't been emptied, tidyed, moved and cleaned behind. Going to find something nice to do today that's not hanging around symptom spotting.

Loving hearing all the baby news. Good luck novmama, and Kveta an hope everyone else is progressing nicely

AmethystMoon · 12/06/2012 08:23

Morning all
gwennie & special sorry to hear you've got horrendous heart burn too, I was also told it would improve as baby dropped Hmm
rachy I've just pm'd you, but see that you're busy all week! I'd love to know how you get on with the slings. I've taken a chance and bought a babasling which seems nice....but only time will tell. I figure if it is that bad I can eBay it and try again!Grin yes flooding has been horrendous, I've been quite teary at the photos, just those poor people losing everything Sad DP has just gone off to work again after another night of heavy rain in west Sussex and he's in charge of operations again today, he'll be very busy I suspect! A27 is still closed I hear. He comes off duty for this evening though so hopefully he'll get some rest. He went right through on no sleep yesterday and I worry so much about him crashing the car Sad hormones don't help Grin I agree it seems nature programmes is to make sure we love them lots just before we have our babiesGrin. Not that I don't love him lots all the time!! Just very soppy at the moment Blush
Wonder how kveta is getting on?
dairy so sorry your contractions have stopped :( not fair!!!
novmama good luck, looks exciting for you today...fingers crossed x
Well off to get my hair done today, needs cutting ( can't see through fringe) Grin and going to treat myself to a semi colour as I don't want baby to spot my white hairs and think she's got an ancient mum Grin. I have auburn hair naturally which I love but fancy a change, maybe a brighter red? Wonder if MW will notice collar and cuffs don't match Grin it shocked DP when we first 'got to know each other' I had been a brunette when we started seeing each other, bless him he had no idea I was a red head in disguise!

AmethystMoon · 12/06/2012 08:24

Nature programmes us.... Why can't my typos be funny like dairy's?

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 09:28

Good luck Nova!!

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 09:29

Has anyone seen my cervix?

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 09:43

Right, I give up! I'm off to join the due in July thread..........

gwenniebee · 12/06/2012 09:45

Good luck novmama, hope it all happens quickly :)

crackers how annoying for you.... they don't tell you all this at ante-natal classes, you're given to believe it'll start and that'll be you on the way - none of this stop-start nonsense! Grr... I'm going to sue under trade descriptions... not sure who I'll sue but I could use the money.

Speaking of stop-start contractions, or things beginning to look like they're happening and then cruelly giving up, I wonder how is blondie? It's got to be a fortnight at least since you had your show, isn't it?

amethyst had a great big giggle at your collar and cuffs comment!

justwantcheese hmmm... thanks for asking re the leak.... we had the surveyor in as I was reading all the comments this morning. As suspected he says insurance won't cover the leak in the roof, in some ways this is fine as we can just get on with getting in the roofing man we already have a quote from without having to faff around waiting for the insurers. The surveyor was absolutely horrified that the problem with the roof (which is major) hadn't been picked up by the survery when we bought the property last August. I'm pretty pissed off about that, too!

Rather annoyingly (I'm being very restrained here...) we were showing the surveyor the "cosmetic damage" caused by the damp from the leak in the sitting room and in the newly and lovingly decorated nursery. Turns out, the damp in the nursery is caused by crappy pointing and will necessitate all the plaster being stripped off the wall, which obviously affects the adjoining wall with our beautiful and frighteningly expensive wallpaper on, and a dehumidifier being run in there for "possibly a few months" in order to dry it out. Oh hell. I'm massively fed up :( but being very grown up about it and not weeping with frustration and being aware that there are more important things in life to worry about, and that it's nothing compared with the poor people amethyst's DP has been helping, and all sorts of other magnanimous thoughts..! Long may that continue....

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 09:57

Lol star Grin I think I'll join you!

gwennie sorry about all the problems with the leak. I know as you say it could be worse but bloody annoying and expensive and not what you need right now.

This Morning's tactic for me is rubbing clary sage in to my bump and more ball bouncing. Guess what? Nothing at all has happenedAngry Bored of bouncing now so have flopped on the sofa whilst the boys take it in turns to poke my far and climb over me as if I am actually part of the sofaHmm

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 09:58

Sigh... Poke my face!

justwantcheese · 12/06/2012 10:15

Dairy, you do make me laugh.
Gwennie, hope you can get your roof sorted out relativity stress free. How annoying the surveyor missed it.
Where do I get clary sage from? What do I do with it?!
Has anyone had a sweep yet? Did it do anything?

McKayz · 12/06/2012 10:50

Morning,

Gwen I hope you can get it all fixed! Must be very annoying knowing that the survey should have picked it up.

I think that I am going to beg the MW to try a sweep on Thursday. I really don't feel like I can do this any more, I can hardly walk it has taken 2 hours to do the school run this morning. Before I would leave at half 8 and could be home by half 9. Now I am having to leave at 10 past 8 to get to school in time.

I've spent all morning in tears and poor DS2 has no idea what to do Sad

Shelduck · 12/06/2012 10:50

Good luck Nov!

gwennie so sorry to hear about the leak - i think you're perfectly justified to feel upset and frustrated about it, so feel free to vent here!

amethyst i really wish i'd sorted my hair out too. Think it's a bit late now. Will just have to growl at anyone attempting to take postbirth pictures of mummy!

Special hello to rachy my EDD buddy! So 40 weeks today. We conceived LO shortly after mmc, so I've been pregnant for the best part of 13 months now! Thinking that, after LO is born, i might send my uterus off for a nice holiday by the seaside!

Xxx

StarlightMaJesty · 12/06/2012 10:53

McK how funny you have to beg. Round my way they are begging ME to let them shove their fingers up my fanjo!

Shelduck · 12/06/2012 10:53

Sorry lovely MIL just turned up and I x-posted with McKayz. Big hug to you! Sorry you're feeling so down. Thanks

McKayz · 12/06/2012 11:00

Star They are keen to make me wait to 40 weeks which is next week. Which I suppose is fair enough but I am shattered. I know that it will be so much easier when the baby is here.

ffnorm · 12/06/2012 11:03

Starlight and Dairy - you just stay where you are,no defecting at this point Grin

Might be discharged today, which is very pleasing Smile Smile

FluffyMitchell · 12/06/2012 11:58

Hi all just checking in. Had a scan yesterday and got further proof it's a girl ( thank goodness as I bought a couple of pink babygros). Thought I might need a c section as I had a bit of scarring after 3rd degree tear with ds, and doc thought this baby might be as big as ds but looks like she is 'only' about 8 pounds. So to cut a long story short I just have to wait and see what happens naturally. Doing proper preparation now, ate lots of pineapple yesterday and going for a big walk this afternoon...and starting to feel properly excited!
