rhibitterfly Sorry it was a no go. Fingers crossed lo turns but if not you'll have your baby either way by friSmile

gwenniebee · 11/06/2012 15:55

McK, Dairy, Kveta and co.... feel very :( for you all being so close but no action.... particularly if you are being messed around by the professionals.... Hope you don't mind, kveta, I had a little sympathetic chuckle at the stories of you bursting into tears over everything, only because it reminded me so much of myself at moments of high tension! So far, however, I haven't been weepy with hormones (which is very unusual for me, as weeping is generally my status quo) but certainly I have been very sweary!! Must get out of that habit before little ears arrive!

Shelduck how flipping typical that when you have something nice planned your body has other ideas. Glad you had a nice evening though. I also felt very lucky to have such a lovely DH yesterday which obviously surprised him as he exclaimed at one point "You're being very lovey today!" Clearly don't tell him I appreciate him often enough Confused

Small nice to hear from you :)

Amethyst hope your DP isn't too shattered... and that he's been treated like a hero by the people he's been helping :)

Star oooh heck I should do something about my eyebrows too. I am probably turning into some kind of gorrilla... I forgot to check...!!

We've had about ten litres of water arrive in the bucket in the kitchen this morning :( (Although is nearly 4pm so should maybe say "today".) It's also splashing all round the floor so the whole place is covered in old towels and just looks filthy.
Despite the fact that I wanted to forget all about water, I went to an aquanatal class this morning - first one I've been able to go to as obviously have been at work on a Monday morning. (Why these things aren't arranged at times when working people can go is beyond me, but I've had that rant before!) Anyway, it was very gentle, but really nice. Hadn't been swimming since growing the bump and didn't realise how nice it would feel. Did the weekly shop on my way home, felt very naughty being in the supermarket and not at work. Have done loads of laundry, made a lovely milkshake with bananas and strawbs.... Now to tidy the sitting room a bit...... it all feels a bit surreal!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 16:20

Sounds like your having a nice time on matthew leave gwennie (water filled kitchen aside!)

Thanks for the sympathiesSmile

Saw on fb Kveta is going in to be induced at 5pm today!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 16:36

Mat leave!

justwantcheese · 11/06/2012 17:02

Yesterday you Snogged sage and today you had a nice time on Matthew ;-))

blondiedollface · 11/06/2012 17:06

Dairy I think you deserve to have your LO now, all your typos from this and the eviction thread have put a smile on my face today, and I didn't think that was possible!!

StarlightMaJesty · 11/06/2012 17:17

Oooooh, good luck Kveta!

McKayz · 11/06/2012 17:19

Dairy please don't stop making typos. They are brilliant!!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 17:34

Lol I seem to be becoming famous for the typos, I blame the phone!!!Grin

Glad they're cheering you upSmile

Just been to asda to post some eBay parcels(post office in asda), was nice to get out and distract myself and buy lots of chocolate

AmethystMoon · 11/06/2012 17:57

So pleased for kveta now that she's got her induction sorted Smile
star ooh I love getting my eyebrows threaded, it makes them look so much better. Had them waxed at the weekend, which is nearly as good.
DP back from work, he is exhausted bless him. He was on radio Sussex giving an interview this morning!Grin poor Bognor residents have got the floods bad, just seen a photo of someone canoeing down a road!! Lots of basement flats flooded, so sad to see everyone's possessions ruined Sad DP said he spoke to one resident last night who hadn't renewed his home insurance a few weeks ago to save money Sad
He is now fast asleep on the sofa, and back on duty tomorrow so letting him rest. The A27 road to the hospital is closed in places at present so hopefully I won't need to get there in the next few days Grin
Planning a nice long bath later as my back is aching as usual, hope you all have nice relaxing evenings x

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 11/06/2012 19:58

Evening all!

I need to go catch up, but a quick update from me:

1 x son delivered by c section at 11.46 on Friday 8 June. Weighed in at a somewhat smaller than expected 6lb 13oz. Started breastfeeding but had to change to formula to escape hospital as wasn't going well and both son and I were frazzled and I couldn't take another night in hospital! Will revisit breastfeeding with community midwife tomorrow and see if I can re-start as he's only been on formula since 11.30pm last night so should be possible (I hope).

Been home since mid afternoon - have just sat here holding my stomach trying desperately to stop laughing as I watch DH put small son on a cold changing mat (despite my warning) only to get both himself and small son covered in pee as small son's bare rear touches the cold mat Grin

Oh my aching stitches!

McKayz · 11/06/2012 20:04

Congratulations SSC that does sound very very funny!!

Clary sage bath #2 over and done with. I think I might give up with it.

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 20:18

Massive congratulations Ssc! Grin Glad you're home and settling in well. Lol at your dh getting pee'd at! We used to put a muslin on the mat to soak up any sprinkles or an old terry nappy.. Maybe worth a tryGrin

TeaandHobnobs · 11/06/2012 20:23

Yay SSC, congratulations! Good luck with getting BFing established, I'm sure it will be fine Smile

CathFin · 11/06/2012 21:03

Congrats SSC - great news, glad you are home! Good luck with the BFing.

Just trying to stop myself eating more food for no reason - not hungry, just bored!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 21:04

Wonder how kveta is getting onSmile

Nothing much happening here, slight achyness.. Off to eat a mars I thinkGrin

AmethystMoon · 11/06/2012 21:41

Glad you're home ssc Smile very funny your DH being pee'd on Grin
I have horrendous heart burn but keep eating arghhhh! Appetite and stomach in conflict!!Sad

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 11/06/2012 21:59

Evening again!

Thanks for all the congrats. Right, now I've caught up a bit...sorry I haven't mentioned everyone but you guys have been busy. Jeez, you step away to have a baby and 10 pages appear!

Mamma - sorry you had such a difficult time of it, hope things heal quickly for you.

Rhi - sorry to hear you had such a rough time with your midwife. Interesting your comment about her not wanting to deal with your urine sample. Mine was the same when she visited my house, but was absolutely fine in the surgery. Weird. Hope all has gone well with your cs today.

Ceej - congrats! Sounds a good birth, which is great.

Bumper - congrats to you too!

ffnorm - hope c section went well.

rhibutterfly - glad your CS is booked in; at least you've got an end date in sight.

Kveta - hope things are going okay with the induction

Dairy - re the muslin. Yeah, that's a trick we should be employing - on this occasion it was usefully located over his shoulder rather than over either the mat or his son's nether regions, both of which would have helped more!

Thinking of everyone and wishing you all swift, safe arrivals, especially those whose LOs are teasing somewhat.

Shelduck · 11/06/2012 22:12

Many congrats SSC! so pleased for you.

Thinking of you Kveta

Shelduck · 11/06/2012 22:13

...And of course anyone else who's gone quiet because they're busily popping out a baby!

StarlightMaJesty · 11/06/2012 22:15

Ooh congratulations SSC! Grin

gwenniebee · 11/06/2012 22:35

Congratulations SSC We had a right giggle at your pee story - even got a laugh from my DH and he doesn't really believe that any of you are real people, I don't think!

Kveta hope all is going well.....................

Amethyst I feel for you with the heartburn. Mine has been really horrendous over the last week or so and even the gaviscon seems to have ceased being effective for more than about half an hour. And all the books says it will be better now because the baby is dropping.... but it ain't!

Hope everyone sleeps well, sending snoozy vibes to one and all :)

SpecialJK · 11/06/2012 23:16

gwennie I'm with you on the heartburn and gaviscon. Seems to be getting worse, not better!

smallwonder · 11/06/2012 23:34

ssc congratulations GrinGrin so happy for you. Hurray! hope recovery speedy, am still quite sore which I wasn't with last, slower this time which I find hard.

I have unbelievable swollen 'cankles', sore boobs, tender scar, achy, weepy and dog tired but hey... I have a baby now right? Mw had same idea as you dairy My LO peed all over mw scales earlier, thankfully most of it ended up on muslin she'd put down first -- couldn't stop laughing though. His weight etc all good Smile
gwennie Grin at your DH! When I announced "ooooooh The Dog Walker has had a baby" while staring excitedly at phone DH had raised eyebrows and looked quite Confused lol.

I don't think there are many parts of my body remaining that don't hurt ... Off to bed xx

McKayz · 12/06/2012 05:18

I'm just making my stupid time of morning check in. I hope the fact we've had no posts is because you're all sleeping.
