ffnorm · 10/06/2012 08:32

Huge congratulations Ceej, sounds like it all went really well and what a lovely name!! You were my due date buddy Envy

DairyNips · 10/06/2012 08:48

I don't want to say this for fear of scaring them away but I've just had 3 contraction type pains lasting about 25 secs at 6 min intervals. Never started labour naturally before, does this sound like early labour or are they a bit too close together?Confused

McKayz · 10/06/2012 08:54

It does sound like something could be starting Dairy

DairyNips · 10/06/2012 08:57

I really hope so, had 2 more now, one was quite short then one was longer. The app on my phone says the average is 36secs a contraction with intervals of 5mins 51secs..

DairyNips · 10/06/2012 09:06

Nothing for 12 mins now, I knew I'd scare them awaySad

StarlightMaJesty · 10/06/2012 09:12

Congratulations ceej and Blimey, that was fast!

cathfin Lol at being told you woukd have your hands full with 3.

ffnorm lol again. Yes, this baby was conceived before DH and I had sex apparently!!!!

McK Is there a paracetamol test then? I.e to see whether the woman is in labour you ask them dumb questions and see if they swear?

Dairy of course it is early labour, but it's hard to know how many hours/days it will be so be prepared for stop start. If th baby is in a good position you can walk up and downstairs sideways to 'shake the head down' as well as increase your oxytocin levels by doing lots of things, or thinking of those that make you go 'Mmmmmm'.

Anyone else just a bit bored/fed up with the baby thing. It feels. Bit wrong but I've had enough and not that bothered now about him coming. Hope it's just a hormone trick.

McKayz · 10/06/2012 09:17

Star it must be some sort of test to check if it's really labour. I couldn't believe it when they suggested paracetamol. When I got to the hospital the MW said lots of women swear at them when they suggest trying paracetamol.

I kinda get what you mean about being fed up. I feel bad as there are so many people who would love to be pregnant but I am thoroughly bored of it now. I'll be much happier when baby is here.

Kveta · 10/06/2012 09:18

totally fed up Star I feel totally 'meh' about actually meeting her now, just utterly sick of being pregnant, and repeatedly saying 'NEVER EVER AGAIN' to DH, in case he thinks a 3rd would be a good idea. Despite the fact he only wants 2 :o

midwife on her way to attempt sweep #2, I feel such a prat asking someone to come and stick their fingers in my cervix, but I want this baby out NOW, as my parents arrive this afternoon, and I don't want to still be pg on thursday when they are planning to leave. Want baby out so a) they can meet her, b) they can give DH a break from DS, and c) they can distract DS from the dawning realisation that he is no longer our number one focus :o

Congratulations to Ceej, Charlotte and Daddy. Well jel about your near perfect sounding labour!! Enjoy those lovely snuggles.

Fingers crossed you're next dairy, and hope those of you who're overdue start getting some action today.

I guess I will be joining the impatient gang soon... due in six days....

StarlightMaJesty · 10/06/2012 09:31

So why mention paracetamol at all?

What the frig is it expected to do?

At least my mw suggested codeine which also had me Hmm tbh, but if women swear at them, why say it?

Same with the bath thing?

I was told to have a bath last time instead of coming in. May as well have told me to dance a jig. Told them I was coming anyway and gave birth only hour and half after arrival.

McKayz · 10/06/2012 09:35

It's meant to stop the pain of contractions if you aren't in established labour. Apparently!

StarlightMaJesty · 10/06/2012 09:39

Lol, in what world?

ellybett · 10/06/2012 09:39

Congratulations ceej and family. Lovely name and I'm so glad everything went ok for you.

Good luck dairy, sending contraction vibes your way! Sending them to kveta too in the vain hope they may help!

TeaandHobnobs · 10/06/2012 09:45

Yay ceeej! Amazing!

justwantcheese · 10/06/2012 09:49

ceeej congratulations to you, lovely name, glad the birth went so well for you x

DairyNips · 10/06/2012 09:53

Still having them although intervals and timings vary. Anything from 2 to 14 mins apart and lasting between 14 secs and over a minute. The one I had that was over a minute was quite strong..

Novmama · 10/06/2012 10:26

Congratulations ceeej - sounds perfect. Lovely name too.
DairyNips - best wishes....

Re when to go in to hospital - MW has told me to 'not let them fob you off re having a bath and a paracetamol' as you had a emergency c/s before. But can just imagine that happening! No signs today so far. Now 40+1 - lots or wriggling - clearly not a lot of room left in there.

Kveta · 10/06/2012 10:28

exciting Dairy hope it all kicks off soon :) maybe another clary sage bath will help?

sweep was good - not painful, and MW said I'm 2-3cm already, and it was 'an effective stretch and sweep'. She also said she touched baby's head which is such a fricking weird concept! no show yet, but I plan to do some gardening and see if that gets things going.

COME ON OUT JUNE BABIES!!!

McKayz · 10/06/2012 10:35

Why the bleeding hell can't we have nice sunny weather that's not too hot. The other week it was far far too hit for me and now we have torrential rain and flood warnings.

I want to do my washing!! I think I might be nesting. Except a 10 minute sit down for a cuppa earlier I've been sorting out non stop.

Kveta I hope the sweep works.

justwantcheese · 10/06/2012 11:08

Dairy and Kveta, sending out positive labour vibes, sounds like both of you are showing good signs.

DairyNips · 10/06/2012 11:10

Ooh Kveta sounds goodSmile hope the sweep works!

emblosion · 10/06/2012 11:42

Congratulations ceej so happy that everything went smoothly! Hope you are enjoying lots of cuddles as we speak :)

Fingers crossed Dairy and hope the sweep does the trick Kveta.

No signs whatsoever here, am only 38 weeks tho. I have a feeling the little dude is going to hang on til the end! totally agree with whoever said about it feeling like he has 15 limbs, there was some serious wriggling and rearranging going on in the bump last night. Still feel feet in my ribs so think he's still head down tho!

bemybebe · 10/06/2012 12:08

Congratulations ceeej! Good labour vibes to the needy ones! Wink
I am patiently waiting (due only on the 22nd by dates - or 19th by gestation), so hope to hang on until then but not to go overdue (consultant is pressing for cs)

rachyroodle · 10/06/2012 12:12

Great news Ceej and also sounding really hopeful for dairy and kveta. Really excited for you all. Not quite due yet and not feeling anything happening so think I may have a little while yet.

small and mama sounds like you are having fun with your little ones. I want some cuddles with our baby!!

rhihaf · 10/06/2012 13:01

Ceej Congratulations! When I read your news I got all misty eyed and didn't give a frig about bitch MWs! It's all worth the crap in the end... Enoy!

Dairy and Kveta good luck and sending most active baby vibes your way. HOpe things get properly going for you and that by tomrorrow we have more June arrivals! Grin

Am about to pack my hospital bag for the c-sec tomorrow. Can't remember who recommended the C-sec birth plan thread on here, Blush but thankyou whoever did, it's really handy :)

The next time I visit I may well have a baba! Love to everyone xxx
