Excellent Fluffy my baby was same at scan yesterday. I haven't felt any movement at all but I've had it confirmed that I have an anterior placenta so I just have to be patient.

I can't believe its 20wks already either Ninja, well 21wks tomorrow, already half way!!

GreenOlives · 24/05/2012 18:19

Just marking my place, don't want to miss any sneeze births just because I'm on my hols Wink Grin Big waves to all the PSEPP! xxx

Am getting really annoyed. I just can't stop weeing! It's only a spoonful each time but it's every few minutes. How am I supposed to sleep without wetting myself?

DreamingOfPeace · 24/05/2012 20:58

Found you, finally!!! Love the new place smegs

Hi Jen, the waiting sucks. Boo! Chop chop babyjen.

Crap trusts don't do NT testing, like mine. Tis on the national news a lot though (I'm university hospitals of morecambe bay trust) Wink. It does have to be before 13+6.

Lovely to hear about the great 20 week scans.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/05/2012 22:26

Hmm... jen I think that sounds like something that happened when I went into labour. I can't really remember though. Although it could be a result of drinking loads in the hot weather Confused

My tummy button is completely static today, thanks Dreaming! Goodness only knows what was going on yesterday.

whims have you been sent your scan notification yet? It is ridiculous that you have to wait so long for your booking in appointment, but I think the scan isn't dependant on it. Maybe give the midwives a call to find out, as they can't really do the nuchal test beyond 13+6, as someone upthread mentioned.

Fluff! How the devil are you? V pleased to hear the scan went well, and you have 80% of a girl Grin Congratulations!

What a beautiful day! DD spent half of it in the sandpit at the park, happy as anything. Thank goodness for MN, I was bored silly!

Morning! Off with ds for a picnic and to the theatre in a bit then a few house viewings this arvo. Apparently we are off to a bbq tomorrow for dp's badminton lot who I have never met. I'm slightly nervous.
jen hope it doesn't turn into a uti like last time but is actually your body clearing itself out in preparation for birth.
Whats everyone else up to this fine and gorgeous day?

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/05/2012 09:35

Aww cakes that's so cool. We must be due really close together? :)

I hope you got some sleep last night?

Hi smegs! A day in the park sounds loverly :)

DH is being a royal pain, now we've started to discuss names. Before, he was all "I'll be really easy, I'm happy as long you're happy" and I was secretly thinking "easy my arse!" and I was right - he is being a nightmare. Apparently all the names - yes, all the names in the whole wide world - are crap Hmm So he's poo-pooing all my suggestions but not offering any himself! Which is so typically DH, and yet nobody could fathom why I was putting off discussing it til after the scan!

NinjaChipmunk · 25/05/2012 10:02

Keep suggesting the names you like over and over again for the next 20 weeks and eventually maybe one will sink in? It's a pain, we still don't have anything like an agreed name for this one. What names do you like?

jenfraggle · 25/05/2012 10:10

Well as predicted I got bugger all sleep last night. Had period pain again but that has gone now. Sweep number 3 booked in for this afternoon, will be very Angry if cervix still hasn't started to do anything.

Fluff my DH kept changing his mind about names. He said that he didn't want any name that ended with an ee sound e.g. Rosie, Becky etc and then a while later would deny ever saying that Confused I think we just have to face the fact that all some men are useless :o

NinjaChipmunk · 25/05/2012 10:19

Good luck for your sweep jen do you have any names picked yet? I know its an UBB.

ScrambledSmegs · 25/05/2012 10:23

Jen I reckon today's the day . I've looked in my crystal ball and it says your stars are in alignment* n' stuff. Just call me MysticSmegs Grin

Fluff DH did that, although he also offered some really horrific suggestions of his own. I'm very stubborn though, and had pretty much set my heart on the name at age 14, so I just kept saying No, if it's a girl it will be called xxxx. He gave in in the end, and now you'd think he'd chosen her name by the way he describes it! Be stubborn. Don't give options. Just tell him! Wink

xpost smegs! I think I'm going to have to take a hard line, like you suggest!

He wants to discuss it once the baby's born - which is my idea of a nightmare! Shock

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/05/2012 10:30

Oh and Anastasia ("Like the Disney?" Hmm )

jenfraggle · 25/05/2012 10:35

DH was very keen on Margaret at one stage. After putting my foot down numerous times he eventually agreed to let that go. The other suggestion he then came up with that I wasn't keen on was Cyril... I then instigated the not naming after any of our grandparents rule.

Not sure where it came from but he then came up with the idea of the first name starting with N. I didn't like it for boys but we have more or less decided to go with that if it's a girl. Still not sure about a boy's name but we do have the middle name sorted as both our Dad's have the same middle name and we will pass that on.

I'm now 40+5 so would be looking at induction a week today if I can't get things going before then. As I have a hooge needle phobia, I really don't think I would be able to cope being put on a drip. I know that there isn't a needle in you the whole time but can't separate them in my mind. I can't even be in the same room as someone that is on one, let alone have one myself so not sure how that would work. Went to visit my FIL last year in hospital, was with him 5 mins before I could feel the panic attack coming and had to go outside for air :(

NinjaChipmunk · 25/05/2012 10:37

ok so before I jump in the shower and disappear for the day here are my choices for DD in no particular order
ava
edie
evie
maeve
martha
matilda
niamh
phoebe (dp has vetoed this as he didn't like phoebe in friends!)
pippa
poppy
rae (i think this would make a brill middle name)
romilly
tabitha
thea

DP likes Sophie but whilst I don't dislike it, it doesn't do much for me.

Right, must get ds dressed and me showered, have lovely days all of you!!

ScrambledSmegs · 25/05/2012 10:43

DH kept suggesting Lexi. Now to me it's a nickname, not a proper name. And I worked in an area where half the kids seemed to be called Lexi/Alexa. I'm sure it's a nice name but hearing it shrieked at full volume in a Norf Lahndan accent, often followed by 'ya fucking lil shit, I'll bash yer brains aht' Sad really didn't do it for me.

Second choice for DD was Elizabeth, Beth for short. I got my first choice though Wink.

This time I've gone a bit off the wall, as has DH! We should probably rein it in a bit.

itsMYNutella · 25/05/2012 10:44

Hello!

I'm 9+1 today so not really at a discussing names stage... although I have a boy and a girl name in mind....

Think I told OH the names ages ago and he wasn't keen on either. Our problem is that the name should be easy for people to say (and spell). I live in Germany (DP is German) and my name isn't hard but I am fed up with people mispronouncing it. You wouldn't think "Gemma" would be that hard, actually the main offender is his Dad who I think is basically too uninterested (in everyone except himself) to get it right....

Moan over, continue the name discussion... please :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/05/2012 10:53

:o smegs I know just what you mean. A few weeks ago I rather liked both Skye and Riley, until I was in town and saw a horrible woman with two kids with those names, screaming at them. Totally ruined it for me :(

Gosh jen I'll brook double-hard for you!! I'm guessing you're really delving into the old wives tales, curry/sex etc? Shock

Ninja Niamh is lovely

farfallarocks · 25/05/2012 11:41

Hello fluff good to see you on here, I was getting worried! I love love love Emmeline, (also Emmeline Pankhurst, suffragete, which is just, cool). DH not keen.

We quite like Beatrice and Matilda, Frederick (freddy) and George, those are the only ones we agree on so far. Gah!

I am feeling fat and veiny today, gah! Seem to be putting on weight like a machine, every time I step on the scane, another kilo has crept on, only 17 weeks and have put on 4kgs already! Is that normal? I thought it would only happen at the end. Seems likes its all on my thighs and bum as well and they were large to start with!

This sunshine is just making me very very happy though :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/05/2012 12:09

How much is a kilo? Blush I'm 20 weeks and have gained a stone exactly eek. I'd gained 5lbs in the first 4 weeks Shock then it slowed down though, and averaged out iyswim, so I guess I'd gained about 8-9lbs by 12 weeks.
Luckily DH observed that I look a lot smaller than some of the women in the waiting room :o which the sonographer said was because I'm tall I'm not, really - I'm 5'5"!

Must admit I feel like a beached whale in the heat, though, and I'm obviously going to be getting much, much bigger than this Shock Blush

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/05/2012 12:10

PS, nice to see us Brookers have killer taste in names Wink I'd totes go for Emmeline but DH screwed his face up when I mentioned it

musicalmrs · 25/05/2012 12:31

Hi Nutella! Are you a new brooker coming to join us..? :)

Lovely names! Niamh was on one of our shortlists :) Smegs, I'm with you on Lexi - I like it as a nickname, but I wanted a long name that could be shortened. Fluffy, we also ruled out anything too popular - which was a bit tricky as my favourite boys names are very popular at the moment! Thankfully our suspected DS turned out to be a DD, which we had a much longer short list for!

DH and I had quite similar taste in names thankfully, although the one point we disagreed on was the number of middle names. I have one middle name, he has two.. he wanted our DC to have two like him - one from either side of the family (and then an 'unrelated' first name that we just liked). We bickered (in a friendly manner!) about it for ages. In the hospital though, he was just so in love with her, and once we picked a first name he added two middle names.. and although I'm still not entirely happy with it, I couldn't bring myself to upset a besotted father :) (I will, however, use it as ammunition when it comes to wanting to treat myself to something next and he disagrees.. Wink).

Fluffy, roughly 2.2lbs in a kilo I think? I put on two and a half stoneish throughout pregnancy. Weighed myself a day or so after having DD and I'd lost a stone and a half - hurrah!

Jen, I hope something kicks off soon :( I was 40+4 when DD was born. As she was slightly overbaked she suffers from quite dry skin at the moment - need to massage her with olive oil later! Brooking lots for you. How many of the old wives tales have you tried? I think I tried them all.. Blush
