Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 13:39

My morning sickness is back Sad. I've been throwing up in the toilets at work. Can't believe it, I've felt on top of the world for the last 2 weeks and now I feel shitty again.

On a plus note it's payday today and DP is off on wednesday so we are going to buy a cotbed together. We've seen one in Babies R Us which we both like. I have also booked half a day off for the 29th of June when I have my 20 week scan so I can go shopping in the afternoon for pink or blue clothes Grin

horsey You're so lucky you can feel the baby already. I can't wait until I can. I'm 15+3 and nothing yet.

shanelle5 · 28/05/2012 13:42

shelly your posts are so funny, cheers for making me laugh today, I certainy needed it. And waiting I totally sympathise, my DP also in "therapy" for his issues but that doesnt help me much and my usual ahem sympathy has left the building to make way for my hormones. He has been about as supportive as a chocolate teapot so Im still not a happy bunny but no matter, im trying to keep the thread a happy place Smile

daisychain76 · 28/05/2012 14:38

Bad luck apple hopefully it is just a bad day - mine seems to come and go now.

misslaughalot there is an allergy spray with no steroids/antihistemines (sp?) which says on the bottle its safe in pregnancy called something like prevalin (it was in the Boots parenting magazine - got my free changing bag, yay!). I have just ordered some to see if it works.

Its my DH's 40th tomorrow so just made him a chocolate guinness cake (his 2 favourite things!) Don't normally like guinness at all, but today it smelt sooo good it took all my self control not to lick out the measuring jug!

I am feeling quite a few kicks (never feel like bubbles or that sort of thing to me - just like little jabs), but very sporadic which irritates me as I like it when you get to the stage you can count the kicks each day (very sadly, I still have my scraps of papers with a mark for each kick from when was having DS!) What is cute tho is it always seems to give a kick if I sneeze. The one upside of hayfever...

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/05/2012 15:26

Mw was fine, heard the heartbeat again.

She's preg too and is going on mat leave soon so I'll be having lots of different mws throughout but I don't really mind.

Don't have another app for two months! Also she said the hosp don't contact me at all if my screening is low risk, no letter or anything she said its a new policy they brought it.
She didn't have my blood results either because someone along the way wrote my DOB wrong so she couldn't find my results grr!

ShellyBobbs · 28/05/2012 16:17

Shanelle Grin You may want to try my therapy, it has no effect whatsoever on your DP but it will certainly make you feel better and is something you and little bud can share snigger at.

I got around the 'was it planned' thing today. One of the nosey cow mothers came up to me in the playground and said in that really crap 'shocked' voice, 'I can't believe you're having another one', (the stupid mare doesn't even know me), 'was it planned'? I just looked at her with a straight face and said 'well we had sex without protection and we were both sober if that's what you mean'. Ha ha, she didn't know where to look, she smiled and then walked back over to the coven.

WaitingForMe · 28/05/2012 16:36

ShellyBobbs - You've made my day with that! I once gathered bits of rubbish and dirty socks DH had left around the house and put them in his work bag to be pulled out in the office Grin

shanelle5 - It's frustrating because compared to so many men, DH is lovely. I think the problem is he spent so long bottling thing (his mum and ex are very messed up people that cannot handle confrontation in any form) that he's still struggling to be a normal person. Sure I've triggered things with pregnancy grumpiness but I will be worse when sleep deprived with a poorly baby. He's very supportive with stuff like moisturising my bump, carrying out my whims and picking up the slack in housework etc but can be a bit robotic and as he can't program his feelings, he breaks down in that area.

horseylady · 28/05/2012 18:11

I've just worried myself!! How much weight have people gained? I'm 18 weeks on Thursday and have barely put on a pound? I don't know why not, I have a small bump, the babies active and my boobs are bigger but in terms of actual weight gain, I'm about the same? I'm eating/drinking normally. Should I be concerned? Bmi was about 21 when measured (just under)

DesperateHousewife21 · 28/05/2012 18:21

I've put on 3-4 pounds. Don't know what's normal but I don't think that's excessive.

Little9 · 28/05/2012 18:42

I'm taking beconase spray and tablets for hayfever (can't remember name) prescribed by doc so are free. Bonus!

Have put on a stone so far, doh! It's in my boobs and belly though luckily at mo. Think it was lack of exercise and eating constantly to stop nausea.

Good news on girlies and heartbeats.

I keep getting a pushing/pain in my lower belly. Usually after i've eaten. Don't know if it's baby or something to worry about. Keep getting popping sensations too so presume it's baby, fc.

Enjoying Crete. Feeling v relaxed! Although have just realised i've been having ice cubes in my drinks at night when I shouldn't be, doh! Oh well!

applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 18:42

I've only put on about 3 pounds so far and have been eating loads more than I usually do so I was surprised I hadn't put on more. But I'm yet to sprout a bump so wonder if I will put on a load at once?

Perhaps we should just count ourselves lucky horsey?

horseylady · 28/05/2012 19:18

Yeah perhaps!! I'm not bothered but when you read stuff online you do panic!!!

applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 19:24

Yep but at times you have to learn to stay away from Google.

Now tucking in to a chicken and feta pizza from Domino's all to myself. Mmm Smile

I have got pretty much a whole new wardrobe on it's way to me. £50 for loads of tops and trousers on ebay and most of it is new. Bargain.

horseylady · 28/05/2012 19:27

Lol I know!!! There was a thread on the pregnancy board which made me look!!! About to have fish, salad and potato :) yum yum :)

applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 19:32

That sounds so much healthier than my dinner. I feel guilty now Blush

applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 19:33

Might go and buy some blueberries to compensate Grin

SwissArmyWife · 28/05/2012 19:49

Well I had pie and chips for dinner and I don't bother checking my weight, so I win Grin

I expect i'll be the size of an elephant within a few weeks!

kirrinIsland · 28/05/2012 19:53

horsey I didn't put on any weight til 24 weeks or so with my first, and you sound very fit and active so I expect that helps. This time I've put on 7lbs already Blush

I've had a pretty uneventful day. Just dropped off my horsebox to my friend who also has my horse - finally admitting defeat for the moment 18 months after DD was born. I just don't have the time to do it justice :(

apple very jealous of your dinner - sounds lovely! Agree that some blueberries should cancel out the pizza :)

horseylady · 28/05/2012 19:56

I do love dominoes pizzas lol!!! And I ate a huge slice of chocolate cake and a fairy cake earlier too!!! Tea was nice, about to walk the dogs then sleep!!!!

applepieinthesky · 28/05/2012 20:06

The pizza did have peppers and sunblush tomatoes on it. Does that count? Grin

4kidsnobump · 28/05/2012 20:13

Evening everyone,

A hectic weekend here as DS1 turned 5,so had a garden full of kids yesterday for celebrations. Just about recovered today I think!

Finally had a call from the hospital to go for GTT, which has ended up being next Saturday. I can think of better things to be doing on my bank holiday weekend! Has anyone else had gestational diabetes before? I had it with my last pregnancy and wondering if I will get it again this time...

shellybobs that is a brilliant answer. How many DC do you have already? I haven't told many people other than close friends and family. Am not looking forward to all the school crowd finding out as I am sure people will feel they have to comment! I had this with DC4 - people I barely even knew asking me if I'd had another one?!

I have no idea about the weight gain situation. I keep craving lots of rubbish unhealthy food though so that definately can't be helping Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 28/05/2012 20:35

Bon sour!

shelly you make me lol.

Lovely trim ladies - don't worry about weight gain. horsey you ride and go 10 mile walks - I'm not surprised you haven't put on weight. You'll ping back all lovely afterwards too I expect.

I had my 16 week appointment on Friday. Got to hear the heartbeat which was awesome! Started off like galloping then sounded like steam train then more galloping. MW was pleased at how loud and clear it was.

On Saturday we went to John Lewis to buy a new mattress and thought we would have a wee play with the buggies while we were there - lots of fun!

When we got home I was lying reading a book and I definitely felt a wee series of movements. Very exciting!

Sorry to hear about OH troubles. It's my poor OH who is catching it worst - I am pretty moody and lazy. all I want to do is lie around at home reading.

Passmethecrisps · 28/05/2012 20:40

Oh, and a collegue asked if it was planned after I was a bit overwhelmed at going public after my scan. I said it was all a bit bizarre - which it is! There is a little thing living and swimming about inside me. That IS bizarre.

And another thing, I have a REALLY sore boob. My left boob (not sure it matters which boob) has a sharp pain really frequently. It makes me want to press down on it. Not such a great look at school

mcsquared · 28/05/2012 20:55

Thank you apple. : )

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/05/2012 21:52

I too had my 16 week appointment today. All went well and funnily enough my blood test results came in the post this morning with a letter saying to take it to my midwife appointment. Couldn't have come much later if it tried! Anyway everything was fine and heard babys heartbeat nice and clear.

Might start actually sorting out what I need to buy. I went shopping on Saturday and bought DD a load of new clothes so I'm a bit shopped out at the moment. Might save it till I get the urge to shop again on a rainy day.

Won't get my 20 wk scan appointment in the post for another 2 weeks which is a bit annoying. But I guess it's just something else to wait for and I'm away next week so hopefully will have a letter when I get home and then I can finally add myself to the 20 week stat list.

Glad to see other successful midwife appointments occuring.

mrswee · 28/05/2012 21:59

Finally got my 20 week scan letter... erm apperently it arrived a few days ago and DH put it on a large pile of papers and already opened letters and bills in the bedroom so i would see it easily HmmAngry
I found it when looking for something else and he got all defensive about putting it there even though I didn't complain, obvioulsy I was thinking a complaint but for once not saying one.
He then managed to run me a cold bath tonight without bubbles in...well meant but badly executed! oh the luxuary!
Then my friend asked me to look after her two children both under 3yo on wednesday morning from 8 am till lunch, when I already have my 2.5yo DD for the morning before rushing her to nursery and then going to work 1pm till 9pm.. having to get us both packed lunches and dinners ready and do all the house work.... and I already have a perminate arrangement to look after another friend's 1.5yo DD every tuesday morning with my DD, which said friend knows about... errrr I know you're desperate but I'm 14 weeks pregnant and working full time and have a toddler.... I said I'd do it but it would be difficult (impossible) to rush them all to nursery on the bus and she found someone else luckily!! phew
