I have energy today! I have cleaned, done the washing and ironing and cooked dinner! Miracle. My DH couldn't believe it - nor could I!

Got a bit of heartburn but am hoping that the worst of the nausea has passed. I was feeling some movement but that seems to have stopped now. Am trying not to think about it too much - am sure all is well in there - fc.

evil did you have your scan today? Hope all went well.

Lovely to hear lots of good news about mw appts and heartbeats :)

ShellyBobbs · 28/05/2012 23:16

Nobump This one is my 4th. Funny really, when people ask how many I've got and I say 3, they then ask if I'm having more. Now I'm having more they look amazed! Shock

GTbaby · 28/05/2012 23:34

In a shit mood. Just had an argument with DH. I mean surely it's not hormonal that so many of us are arguing with DH ATM, no its that all our DH have got together and decided to act like prats. Stupid men.

Iheartpasties · 29/05/2012 00:24

I wish I could feel the baby moving all the time, I get a few little movements but not everyday! Argh! can't wait until it gets a bit bigger.

My crochet blanket is coming along pretty well, I had to go back and buy more wool though as I ran out! whoops.

It's rainging today so I am glad I have got plans to be inside most of the day. I am seeing my friend who is 35 weeks! She has been looking really good every week we get together.

Lilliana · 29/05/2012 07:22

I think I felt baby moving last night, but could have been my imagination as I have been trying to look out for it when resting. Hope it comes back soon!

I have my 16 week app tomorrow so nice to see others have been going well.

Is anyone else Rh negative? What happened? I was told at the hospital and given a booklet 'that would explain everything' Hmm Still confused so going to have a chat with the mw tomorrow and hope she can shed light on things without the use of too many needles.

SwissArmyWife · 29/05/2012 07:23

Urgh. I am not a happy bunny today. DD was up something silly like every two hours last night, think it's her teeth. She's also refusing to eat at the moment, which is worrying me. I'm wondering if she's finding it hard to chew and if I should revert back to mush for a while. Any advice?

Evil how did your scan go? I can't wait until I have mine!

Chunkychicken · 29/05/2012 07:49

I've lost weight!!! Well, I've lost about 2lbs in the last week without even trying, so although I'm still 8.5lb heavier than I was, I know it must have purely been the cravings/sickness-quashing food consumption, & the bloating, that piled on the pounds. I have noticed my choices have been far healthier since the sickness stopped - still can't get enough chicken but also really wanting fruit. :)

Busy few days ahead of me work-wise & now panicking that I can't get it all done AND pack for the move, which is potentially scheduled for the wb 11/06!! Busy bank holidays for us then Wink

rowingdowntheriver · 29/05/2012 08:16

Well I can now report that I too have just had an extended barney with my DH Sad we're ok now but wasted most of Sunday and yesterday, which we both had off work, not really talking to each other. He's back at work today (I only work part time so am off) and I am so annoyed that we wasted what could have been a lovely day. I think we are both stressed though as generally we go through patches of not arguing at all and then will have a phase where we argue a fair bit. Usually when we argue we are both stressed (or I am hormonal and he is stressed).

Oh well. People have been talking of how much weight they have or haven't been putting on. I'm 18 weeks now and have just put on 2lb which is a lot less than the same time on my first pregnancy. The difference though is that I started this pregnancy 1 stone heaver than I did the last so I do already look a lot bigger than I did then. I keep meaning to do some exercise as don't want to put as much on a I did last time but can't seem to motivate myself! Am buying an exercise bike today to park in front of the tv so I can use it when watching TV after DS has gone to bed!

I decided to recheck the list of foods that you can't eat (on the NHS website) yesterday and I'm sure it has changed since my last pregnancy?! For example apparently we can eat Stilton and also Unpasteurised cheese so long as it is hard cheese, parmesan, cured meats like Parma ham and cooked chorizo, cooked shellfish, soft ice cream so long as it is pasteurised. I'm very excited about all this Grin but also wary a I have been avoiding all of these things! In particular Stilton is confusing me as the babycentre website, which I think is a US website, says specifically not I eat Stilton. What do others think?!

rowingdowntheriver · 29/05/2012 08:21

Just realised how long my last post was! I don't post often but when I do it is comprehensive!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 08:25

swissarmywife how old is your dd? We've been having problems with ds. He won't go down in his bed unless I'm physically touching him or he can hug my arm and even then it takes 45 mins. Then he woke up after 20 mins Hmm I think it's the heat and his teeth, he's getting the last one through (thank god!)
I end up having him in with me, he even laid on my lap while we watched tv because I didn't want to go to bed before 9 again.

I'm going to the zoo with a friend and her ds today, praying the rain holds off!

StuntNun · 29/05/2012 09:03

Rowing the foods to avoid are different in different countries so go by the NHS list for the UK.

Lilliana they should test your OH to see if he's Rhesus negative too. If he is it's fine, otherwise I think you have to have one anti-D injection during your pregnancy and one after the baby's born. Otherwise you could miscarry in subsequent pregnancies. If you have a fall or otherwise injure your bump you need to get an injection after that too. The problem arises is your baby's blood is Rhesus positive and mixes with your blood (this can happen during birth or if you injure yourself while pregnant). You will then produce antibodies to the baby's blood which could lead to your body rejecting future pregnancies. It's really nothing to worry about so long as you get the anti-D injections you need.

OP posts:
rowingdowntheriver · 29/05/2012 09:12

Thanks stuntman! I am off to buy some Stilton and will mainly be eating that today!

daisychain76 · 29/05/2012 09:41

Liliana I am rhesus negative too. Where I am they don't test your partner. They routinely give me an anti-D injection at 28 weeks. If I had any bleeding before then (not a speck, but bright red and as large as a 5p) they would also give me one as a precaution. When the baby is born they test its blood and if they are rhesus positive, I am given another injection of anti-D (this doesn't stop you having a homebirth).

I remember feeling panicky about this when I was having my first but it has never caused me any problems and I am on my third now.

Iheartpasties · 29/05/2012 11:41

I am rhesus negative too :)

kirrinIsland · 29/05/2012 11:47

Morning all :)

I've just had my 16 week midwife appointment (at 17 weeks) and heard the heartbeat, which was lovely.
I then spent an hour waiting for a blood test to see if I am immune to chicken pox - poor DD was not impressed!

SwissArmyWife · 29/05/2012 12:03

Grrr - tried to post earlier and the site was down so lost my post!
DH DD is nearly 15 months, and has been having problems sleeping for a while now. A few nights back she did sleep through with no problems and went down fine, but it's all very up and down at the moment. Definitely don't think the heat is helping!

TheDetective · 29/05/2012 12:45

I can't believe it. I've started being sick again. I haven't been sick in 4 weeks now. Came off the tablets a week ago and been feeling fine.

Came out of nowhere. Not once, but twice. Waiting for another now :(

Will start the tablets again. Ffs. I dont want to as they caused horrendous constipation.

mrswee · 29/05/2012 13:20

And RELAX... phew
I have had mine and my friend's DD all morning...they are napping now!
I'm knackard! still have to go to work later.
they were on super destructive mode this morning! I only went to make a cup of tea and came back and they were both covered in pen and stickers!

One of them had a bib on that said 'it's not easy being this cute' I was thinking it should say 'it's not easy being this destructive!'

chunkychicken good luck with the packing! I am dreading that, if all comes together then it will only be 6 weeks from now that we move, 3 days after my 20 week scan... it's all happeneing that week!

swissarmywife I hope your dd sleeps better soon, you must be so tired! When my dd was teething she wouldnt eat much and I had to give her milk in the night somethins to re settle her, it did work, she was just very hungry and grizzley with teeth pain.
She has just started teething again at 2.5! last two thankfully

thedetective hope your sickness passes!

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 13:27

thedetective I'm the same so I have sympathy for you. I have been feeling fine for weeks and then was sick yesterday and again today. ffs. I was never sick two days on the trot before.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 15:27

I had a call from the mw earlier, she said my blood tests show a certain hormone being on the low side which can mean the placenta doesn't work as well as it should which can cause growth problems in the baby.

I'm going to have extra growth scans because of this, she said not to worry about it but of course I am.

Has anyone had this or known anyone who has had this? I'm really worried the placenta is suddenly going to stop working altogether :(

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 15:30

DH The good thing is they have spotted a potential problem and they will be extra cautious with you now. That's a positive and doctors can do wonderful things so I'm sure you will be fine. I understand how worried you must be though. Are they referring you to a consultant?

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 15:33

How low was your result do you know? One of mine came back higher than average, it should be 80-100 but is 103 so it's only just over and they are being really careful and re-testing it. The midwife said it should be fine but they like to be sure about these things and don't take any chances at all.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 15:43

Im not sure of the figures, she didnt have my paperwork at the app due to cock up over my birth date.
The next step is to wait to hear from the hospital for an app with the doc/ consultant who will talk to me about it in more detail.

HelloBear · 29/05/2012 15:43

DH21 - which hormone is it? Do you know? Was it the combined test screening? One of mu hormones is too low - PAPPA 0.36 mom. I think this may be the same one? I am having extra scans (one tomorrow at 18 weeks) and then one at 24 weeks, I don't know about after that. I am also consultant led.

I would ask if it is possible to see a consultant to ask any questions and get any stats there are i.e. what the chances of there being a problem (this is probably going to be really small so will hopefully reassure you).

Do not hesitate to call back the MW to ask more questions as I find I do not know the questions I want to ask at the time. If that makes sense?!

Good luck!
