Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
applepieinthesky · 25/05/2012 21:12

got a few tester pots, that should say.

WestWinger · 25/05/2012 21:45

DH sorry that your DH has upset you. Men. Grrrrr.

apple nice to hear your DP is making amends.

I know it's hot and sticky, but I am loving the sunshine! So much nicer to be in the garden all day than stuck inside staring at the rain through the window. And it is getting me in the mood for my holiday next Saturday - yay!! Think the nausea is easing but I am exhausted and so snappy Blush

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/05/2012 07:13

Thanks westwinger I didn't speak to him at all last night. I think it's one of those things that's blown over by the morning esp when ds is around.

I think it all got a bit much, the heat, ds playing up, not getting help from dh.
The hormones don't help either!

I'm off to the cinema today with a friend and dh has ds for 3 hours so that'll give me a nice break.

GTbaby · 26/05/2012 07:58

Oh dear. Wide awake on a Saturday morning Sad. DH just got in from a night shift. Trying to decide if I shud get up n crack on with house work so I can go to yoga at 11 have not been for 3 months as I'm always exhausted. Could also sort garden out before it gets to hot. Ok ok I'm getting up Grin

Chunkychicken · 26/05/2012 07:59

So there was another fight at school, or rather a violent assault by one student on another & it was really shocking. I actually burst into tears despite being only a witness to the aftermath (I blame the hormones) but it is so upsetting. The school I work at has steadily improved over the last 7yrs, with great hardworking staff & the kids are getting motivated like never before, & suddenly this. I have never been scared for ky safety before, but after yesterday, I do wonder... :(

Chunkychicken · 26/05/2012 08:00

My not ky!!!! Bloody phone!!!

TheDetective · 26/05/2012 08:07

Bed time for me. Considering sleeping on a sun lounger in the garden!!!

Maybe not... Hmmm!

mrswee · 26/05/2012 08:17

chunkychicken that's horrible for you. I get ultra protective of myself when pregnant. If someone even makes a sudden movement beside me in the street I get a fright and jump right out the way. That all must have been very shocking for you.

Woke up with a headache and sore throat this morning.. Hopefully just needing a big drink of liquid after a warm night and not coming down with anything

SwissArmyWife · 26/05/2012 08:27

Morning all!
Hello to all the newcomers.

Apple So glad things are sorted with you and your DP now :)

Valium I bought the wonderful body shaping pants from wilkinsons would you believe! But they are fab.

Had a lovely day at the beach yesterday, DD absolutely adored it!
Didn't get back until 10pm though as we stopped for dinner on the way home at a sweet little country pub, I ordered vegetarian pasta that I couldn't eat as it didn't specify it was a mushroom dish and it just turned my stomach!
Apart from that it was a good day though Grin

Hope everyone is well today :)

DonnaDoon · 26/05/2012 08:58

Morning.went to consultant yesterday to discuss which birth id like and i really want a vaginal one. I had my first no probs this way. My second was bum first and i was in labour so had an emergency c section.my third was only 21 months later so they advised me to have another c section. But this time i really dont want to be cut open again i really want to deliver myself but they are dead against it for fear of scar rupture etc. I know they have to inform me of the risks but i dont know what to do. Any previos c section ladies here in same boat ?

Passmethecrisps · 26/05/2012 11:19

Horrible to hear about fights at school - I have noticed that I am much more cautious around the kids now than I was before . I have no reason to be really - they are a relatively placid bunch in the main.

We are off out to check out new mattresses. Mind you, having checked the bank balance we might be better off sleeping on the floor!

Another lovely day - too hot for going shopping really.

ValiumQueen · 26/05/2012 13:51

I tend to be a bit braver when I am pg. I work with people with addictions, who can be a bit unpredictable or aggressive when under the influence of various substances, and when pg with DD1 I physically removed a very large man with a very large dog from the waiting room - the dog had peed on another client, and I saw red. My colleagues were horrified. (I used to be a prison officer so do not frighten easily)

mrswee · 26/05/2012 14:11

valiumqueen I tend to be like that when not pregnant, just wade in.
Those shaping pants you got, are they maternity ones or just normal shaping pants? I'm looking for maternity ones but don't want to buy. A bunch and find out they are crap!

mrswee · 26/05/2012 14:13

Sorry second part of that message was directed at swissarmywife damn baby brain

Chunkychicken · 26/05/2012 15:04

Not so much the fact that I'm pg that's scaring me, or any risk to my safety under normal circumstances, its the sudden onset of violence which is so odd. I have never seen a fight at school EVER & yet now I've been in spitting distance of 2 in 2 days!!! What the hell is happening??!!! Why NOW??!! I worked in an 'interesting' all-boys school as my first teaching job & didn't feel scared getting things thrown at me etc I used to just get angry!!! Now I feel confused. :(

SwissArmyWife · 26/05/2012 15:19

mrswee - They're not maternity ones as i'm not that big yet, they're just size large normal :) I did look at maternity ones but didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount so got the cheapies first!
Will probably get maternity ones when i'm too big to fit in to anything normal Grin

chunky - Maybe it's the heat getting to the kids, I know it sounds silly but it does agitate people, plus it's difficult to tell what causes fights between them but I hope they're spoken to and it gets sorted out! It's not a good environment for anyone.

Evilwater · 26/05/2012 16:32

Hello ladies!
DH I hope your DH bucks up!

I've been at work today, and it has been Grin. It's so refreashing to have help, and have time too see people properly!
The lady that is doing the afternoon shift came from the obs and gyne ward. Bless her I had a million questions. So she has given me her phone number.

It was very funny today, I kept asking for the bee key, and wondered why I got Hmm looks. I was asking for the bin key!

I have enjoyed being pregnant today, espally as I had a custard donut off the registar and a tea off the consultant. Two days to go till I find out what's in there! I can't wait.

Hoping things are looking up
Evil

StuntNun · 26/05/2012 16:37

Donna I had an emergency section under general anaesthetic for DS1 due to antepartum haemorrhage (the placenta starting to come away before he was born, which is life-threatening for mother and baby). Then I had a VBAC for DS2 under a 'trial of labour'. Basically the consultant said they would give me four hours to have him and if there wasn't enough progression by that time they would perform a section. In then end I had him in four-and-a-half hours with a low dose of syntocin drip, an episiotomy to speed things up and what they described as 'a touch of ventouse' to get him out at the end. I will be opting for a VBAC again this time but I don't have my heart set on it because the antepartum haemorrhage could occur again.

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/05/2012 17:42

Thanks evil he's been better today and I've been in a better mood too!

Just got back from the cinema with a friend we went to see what to expect when youre expecting, I recommend it. It's v funny and they cover all scenarios about preg/ babies/ relationships etc.

SwissArmyWife · 26/05/2012 18:29

Oooh I really want to see that DH, going to have to try and get some time to myself soon so I can!

I'm not liking this heat any more. I've felt like rubbish all day and poor little DD has been tired and quiet all day, all she's wanted is cuddles :(
Early night tonight methinks!

ValiumQueen · 26/05/2012 19:31

Had a lovely day today - first in 4 months! Felt normal, well, and my kids were well too. Did not find the heat challenging as was a nice breeze to go with it. Went out at 8am, and just got back at 7pm! Wow!

Went to GPs for breakfast, played in garden with pool, then off to the school fete, with Bouncy castle for DD1, Car Boot sale, Face Painting, hot dog lunch picnic, then shopping, then Burger King, then Bowling with soft play (free, as just watched the bowling), then food shopping! Kids should sleep well - did not know I had it in me (perhaps I am blooming?)

ValiumQueen · 26/05/2012 19:32

(slightly ashamed at crap food intake, but it was FUN!)

TheDetective · 26/05/2012 20:02

Sounds fab Valium I'm jealous!

I slept from 8.30am-6pm. :(

Evilwater · 26/05/2012 20:06

I think I got my first kick. It felt like a muscle spasming, but really quicky.
Anyone else got this? I'm a first time mum so I have no idea what it is.

Evil
