Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GTbaby · 12/06/2012 21:21

You know what, before i asked some ppl, i thought 'what a silly thing to even consider' that most ppl would say 'of course its ok'.

But then when i asked my SIL and Sis i was quite surprised when they were negative about it... so its just got me wondering.

i was a tom boy when little, and loved blue, and just like the blue pram. but RL ppl sayings its odd has got me questioning it, and i keep coming back to the 'who cares' stance lol

oh well , we will not be buying until last minute, so will have plenty of time decide :)

TheDetective · 12/06/2012 21:32

Excellent news Blue, glad it went well!

Re: Car seats, I would never buy a second hand one, because I don't trust someone else to tell me the truth! I may accept one of close family or friends. But even then, I dunno. I just feel like I want to be sure it is 100% safe. I had a nasty accident once, and it has really affected how I feel about it all. That and the mattress will be the two things I am definitely buying brand new.

I've had a miserable day feeling hungover post night shifts. I am also going to have to get some kind of support belt, for the night time. I am a frequent turner over at night, and I keep causing myself a lot of pain every time I turn, it feels like something is literally ripping in two. I think its my abdominal muscles or what is left of them. If it happens enough times in the night, the next day my pelvic area is so uncomfortable :( I try and be careful, turn gently, and hold a pillow to my abdomen to support it, but sometimes it just isn't enough.

I think I need something to support whatever is going on. Off to google!

Passme Yes pink was seen as a shade of red and so assigned to boys.

Fatima The Oyster is the one I was going to get before MIL got us one, it's lovely isn't it and folds down really small. I like that you can use the car seat on the frame.

GT The motto of my life about other people is 'f* 'em', it makes my friend laugh because I really don't give a monkeys what other people think, hence my replies to stupid school ground questions on my pregnancy a few weeks back.

I've not done a lot today, so lazy....... will have to do something extra entertaining tomorrow with the youngest 2 who are still off school, but can't think what?????

ShellyBobbs · 12/06/2012 21:36

God I'm so anal, how did I even know that about the baby colours, it was actually lodged there in my brain Shock

ShellyBobbs · 12/06/2012 21:38

Detective, let me know what you find, I'm exactly the same.

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 21:50

Anyone else farting for the uk?
It's a shame I can't hook up to the power plant, I'd save loads of money!
Evil

TheDetective · 12/06/2012 22:00

I sneeze, I fart. Its a shame!

Still looking Shelly I will put a link up if I find anything!

TheDetective · 12/06/2012 22:10

Bump band might be worth a try? Mothercare have them but, obviously, they are more expensive! I want something which keeps it from shifting to the side when I turn! I dunno what the best kind will be. I guess the next step if this doesn't work is a trip to the GP to see if I can get a fembrace, but that seems a little excessive...

Its not SPD or anything, but it could cause lasting damage if I don't do something soon!

LittleLolly · 12/06/2012 22:16

Well I am joining Team Blue!! A lovely little boy! Grin so excited!!!

After the scan we went straight to next and bought some gorgeous little things! I think the shopping will begin now!

With regards to car seat and pram we are getting the iCandy Peach 2 in black magic, and I've already bought the maxi-cosi cabriofix car seat with iso-fix base for £132 on kiddiecare, good price I thought. I love the pram and can't wait to be pushing my little boy around in it!!

TheDetective · 12/06/2012 22:27

Congrats Little! Next is exactly where we went to after our scan too! I bought 2 lots of 3 babygrows! I have a list that comes to £136 for stuff from there! Planning to buy it at the end of June, so that if any of it goes in the sale, I can get the sale stuff and return the full priced items. Grin

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/06/2012 22:28

lolly that sounds like an amazing price! I've had a look at kiddicare but can't see that deal at all. Only the easy fix base and even then it's 192!

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 22:30

Little, can you send a link for that, I can't find it anywhere. That price is amazing.
Evil

stabiliser15 · 12/06/2012 22:42

GTBaby great choice of pushchair! Go for any colour you like, I really wouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Am not having problems turning at night, but I sleep on my stomach and am starting to find that a tad uncomfortable. Am now spending the night half o my side and half on my stomach and am waking myself up as I try and shift to my natural sleeping position in my sleep. Between that and DD not really sleeping well at the moment, am exhausted!

However, night away this week in a hotel for work - will be out late but will sleep alone and hopefully uninterrupted although despite my moaning maybe I will miss DD's cuddles from when she ends up in with me most nights.

Evilwater · 12/06/2012 22:46

Izzy- the cheapest I've found is at amazon. £94 for the seat and The base £67.
Evil

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/06/2012 23:28

Thanks. Mothercare had the seat for 99.99 but were doing 10% off spends over 100 so if you bought something else would have been great price! I'm just too scared to buy the big things til after 24 weeks

SwissArmyWife · 13/06/2012 07:10

Somewhere in the back of my head I vaguely remember the whole colour thing being the other way round in the past. But now there are prams in every colour of the rainbow and more so why get pink OR blue?
I love purple or turquoise, and they work for either gender. My DD had a bright green three wheeler for a while, now she has a brown three wheeler (cosatto yoga, love it) with lots of bright stripes on the seat.

And the clothes you can get! Pumpkin patch has got to be my favourite baby clothing company!

Congrats to Lolly - another boy! I don't know if anyone else is in to astrology, but i'm a bit of a nut for it and looked up the chinese chart for this year and apparently it is a year for boys.

For those of you who are finding out, google chinese astrology gender predictor and see what it says Grin Apparently i'm having a boy.

I've got my MW appointment this morning, can anyone remind me of the HB rate/train or horse for boy/girl in case I get to hear it? :)

Lilliana · 13/06/2012 07:28

Passme I can't bring myself to actually buy it either! We are 99% sure this is what we want but actually biting the bullet and ordering it doesn't feel right, maybe because it hasn't actully sunk in yet that we are having a baby! Sorry you are feeling rough too, it's crap :(

Evil I sneeze, I fart, I have a LOT of snot, my eyes run ... all in all I am a right goddess atm! Glowing my ass.

Detective I have a bump band which I love and is really comfy but I'm not sure it would stop the moving about at night unless you could find a really tight one. Mine is great for wearing low trousers and covering the gap between them and my top but is quite loose. (I have a mothercare one)

Another restless night, sleep deprivation is kicking in and feel sorry for the kids in my class today! Am def going to try to get a doc app and get a second opinion on what I can/can't take.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/06/2012 07:31

I did the Chinese gender predictor at the start and it said girl, looks like it was right!

I'm really stuck for buggies, I guess I will be needing a double but it's just which one to get and the price, we really any afford £300 buggies (frankly that's just ridiculous) so it'll have to be eBay or something.
Even Phil and teds doubles are going for over 100 on there, might have to try and pursuade family to help out!

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/06/2012 07:31

Can't afford*

Chunkychicken · 13/06/2012 07:59

So we moved, not quite without hitch, but still... Grin

I did the Chinese gender thing, but apparently I conceive all my children on the cusp of months!! DD could have been end of July or August (& apparently both times was going to be a boy...Hmm) and this one was end of Feb/March!! That means it could be a boy or girl - well, d'oh!!! :)

horseylady · 13/06/2012 08:52

It says girl for me!! Will find out tomorrow.

I had some light (coloured) discharge this morning? Baby kicking me normally so hopefully ok? Got a scan tomorrow and it was a tiny amount. We dtd not last night but the night before after a while so wondering if it was that?

ShellyBobbs · 13/06/2012 09:01

It's predicted a boy for me. Feel sorry if it is a boy, since I found out I was pregnant we've just called the bump Angus and I've got a feeling that it'll stick up to the point where we might have to give it as a sort of middle name lol, poor poor thing Grin My 7 year old daughter was nearly in tears a few weeks back because she said we can't REALLY call it Angus if it's a boy, 'that's just a silly name'!

ShellyBobbs · 13/06/2012 09:03

Lolly congrats on another boy, it certainly seems to be the season for them. Horsey, we'll soon find out how good it is then Grin. It added a year on me with this lunar age thing!

Thechick · 13/06/2012 09:21

horsey Im sure you'll be okay. I've had to start wearing pantyliners again because of all the stuff coming out of me. Sorry tmi!!!!

Brockle · 13/06/2012 09:23

Hello everyone. DS2 is four today so the boys (including DH) are building a lego fire station as we speak. Then the science museum in manchester and trifle at mums house later. DS2 loves the museum because he is a train obsessive. Have to start picnic prep but find it hatd to be motivated.

I have had a second hand car seat from my SIL but I knew the history so wasn't too bothered. I think Argos do quite cheap size 1 car seats. The big names tend to be over a £100 but I am pretty sure you can get size 1 seats from £60 ish.

My other SIL is lending her M&P Joolz which I think has been discontinued. Quite excited as it has a carry cot so it will nice to push baby and see them as I go. It is lime green which i guess in interesting and unusual..

Have an appointment for PGP group session. Not too bad at the mo and hoping it is something less sinister. Just some exercises and advice would be helpful. Dreaming about leaving work on the 19th Oct instead of the 9th Nov. Not sure how much my resolve will hold out!

Little occasional kicks, just wish they were more regular and definite.

chunky don't go mad with the unpacking, pace yourself and rein in the nesting instinct!
