Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Elizadoesdolittle · 07/06/2012 11:16

Hey all, back from hols. Had a lovely time and was very lucky with the weather. Only rained one afternoon. Have to say that holidaying in the uk just isn't as relaxing as holidaying abroad. I'm knackered!!

Welcome to the newbies and congratulations. Can't believe this thread is still growing!

I've finally got my 20 wk scan date through so will update the list when I'm on the lap top. It's 3rd July at 10:15am so got a little wait yet. I'm not finding out the sex but looking forward to hearing of those that are. Can't believe we're nearly half way through our pregnancies, yikes!

notatschool · 07/06/2012 11:35

Um, re left-over cake... Found a tin in the back of the kitchen that still had some of DD's birthday cake in it. Her birthday was in March Blush Blush

In my pitiful defense, am only just getting back into housework after AWFUL first 16 weeks. DH has done his best, bless him, has been brilliant... But, well, you know!

ShellyBobbs · 07/06/2012 11:50

Ohhh no, just got my work through for tonight and I'm in the back and beyond, just what I need after 2 sleepless nights :( I'm going to have to take loads of food and drink with me because I doubt I'll see any shops at all. Roll on November when I can say stuff it for a good few months.

I suddenly feel really preggers. I can feel baba most of the time now, have trouble getting off the settee (have to put legs in the air and swing them down fast) and just generally feel really big.

Midwife for 16 week check in a couple of hours, I'm taking my youngest 2 so they can listen to the heartbeat Grin

SwissArmyWife · 07/06/2012 11:56

Chunky Glad your MW appointment went well and if we don't hear from you before, good luck with the move!

Wooo I have actually felt baby today thank god, quite a lot too! It's just so irregular at this stage, isn't it? I can't even remember when I was feeling regular movements with DD - and it was only two years ago Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/06/2012 12:15

notatschool I've got babycentre app it's really good I go on it every day, I esp love the videos!

2 days til I see my baby again and find out what it is!
Also my best friend has her 12 week scan today do waiting to find out how that went.

notatschool · 07/06/2012 12:21

DesperateHousewife21 the pictures and videos are really good to show the DCs. And it's useful for telling me how far along I am, I never remember.

NervousAt20 · 07/06/2012 12:27

Oops sorry lillanna Blush it is a very good idea though. I'm the kind of person that believes what's ment to be is ment to be and have never heard of bad luck to give on fathers day before the babys born so in going to carry on anyway :) I really wanna make DP feel involved more so at the min as I can feel wiggles every now and then and he can't but is desperate too so think it will be nice for him Grin

Ordered a crib from toys r us website, of you sign up to their baby club they send vouchers and you get points for things you buy too so there was an extra 20% off so decided to get it now. Starting to get impatient and want to buy things but waiting until we no the sex so 8 days left and counting!!

desperate I bet you can't wait for your scan!! Do you have any idea of whats in there?

chunky good luck with the move!!

horseylady · 07/06/2012 12:32

Jay I'm the same in terms of lack of bump!! Lots of kicking though!!!

stabiliser15 · 07/06/2012 12:43

Hi all

Am in a proper hormonal grump today. 16mo DD is sleeping terribly - she has always been so good at going to bed awake and self settling and staying asleep all night - and now she is a sleep terrorist - will not go to bed, will not settle in the night if she does wake up, only wants to sleep in with me (which I loathe). This is clearly karma for being so smug about what a good sleeper she has always been.

Am horrifically busy at work, am the only one here from my team so handling everything, am so busy am going to have to cancel 16 week midwife apt for later today (even though am 18 weeks and not realistically going to get to see her before 20 week scan). And have been told that forthcoming maternity leave is going to scupper promotion chances - which have already been scuppered once by previous maternity leave.

Just GRRRRRRR today.

Anyone got any good news to cheer me up?!

applepieinthesky · 07/06/2012 12:58

jaylee and horsey I am the same with lack of bump. A colleague found out last week from someone else that I was pregnant and she hadn't guessed. She asked if I have had a scan yet and when I said I was 16 weeks she was surprised because if I wear the right clothes I don't look pregnant at all. I'm still in normal clothes as well not maternity.

Bluetinkerbell · 07/06/2012 13:03

I also don't have a lot of bump yet, you can just about see it sticking out now. I was the same with DD1 and DD2, I do get quite big once I'm past 30 weeks...
I guess it is because my sickness hasn't completely gone yet. I have got a cold and the coughing makes me throw up again :(

kirrinIsland · 07/06/2012 13:04

stabiliser when you say "scupper promotion chances" do you mean right now, or generally? Cos it shouldn't be allowed to affect you long term?

horsey and jay - I'm the other way, lots of bump but not much kicking. I'm thinking the baby must be in a very padded area Blush

stabiliser15 · 07/06/2012 13:07

kirrin this year. Longterm it will happen, but having 2 maternity leaves close together has put things back. It shouldnt happen, and it isnt the official reason, but it was someone saying something frankly. They probably shouldnt have done it (HR would have a heart attack), but while I am annoyed, I sort of appreciate the honesty.

ditsygem · 07/06/2012 13:47

The last few days I have been a bit achey in my lower tummy, and its sore when I try and get off the sofa or bend over to pick something up. Anyone else experiencing anything like that?
I assume its just everything squishing up to make room for the baby and stretching that makes it a bit sore, but you know what its like, I worry that its not normal!
At least enjoying my doppler and listening to a strong little heart beat when ever I want which is lovely and reassuring that LO is happy in there anyway!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/06/2012 13:53

Ditsygem I get sore too, I am really struggling bending to pick up DS, particulacy from his cot or the bath.

Kirin I am all bump and little kicking as well. It does make me worry a bit sometimes Whether everything s ok role on 20 week scan on 21st June. Hoping is one chilled out baby in there!

horseylady · 07/06/2012 14:29

I have a little bump I can certainly tell but in terms of other people no one would really guess.

It's not flat and toned and my core is much weaker as I felt out walking like that. I'm going to start 'yoga' next week :) see how that goes!!

Still in normal clothes, not sure how ling that will last nor whether to just buy some size 12s or maternity ones? Any ideas? Also not sure what to get pram wise as well be outdoors lots with the horses and dogs. I was planning on carrying the baby a reasonable amount while small as I think it's easier, warmer etc but maybe not thes best?! So would I be better with a three or four wheeler? Any good sturdy tyre recommendations?!

applepieinthesky · 07/06/2012 14:33

As well as having the tiniest of bumps I have also not felt any movements yet. But I am still being sick and whilst it's not very pleasant it's a reassuring reminder that there is something going on in there.

ShellyBobbs · 07/06/2012 14:46

Ditsy I've been sore for weeks and the midwife has confirmed all the 'ripping' I felt a few weeks ago was my stomach muscles separating, can you imagine the state of me when I'm full term Shock

Listened to the heartbeat and the MW actually said it sounded like a train, is that what they say boys sound like? She also said I felt bigger than 17 weeks but have a feeling the blubber may have been kidding her a bit Blush

I've got low blood pressure so have been given the green light to be a pig and carry food and drink around with me at all times, plus my younger 2 are witnesses to her saying this, yom yom.......... So the next appointment is the scan in 3 weeks then another 2 months before anything else :)

mrswee · 07/06/2012 14:51

chunkychicken good luck with the move! I'm thinking of you as I will be doing the same in a while (hopefully) but by then I will be around 7 months preg!

notatschool welcome! yes I use the baby centre app. find it really usefull!

Almost wish I hadn't read all the catch up today. Seems like everyone is feeling proper movements and I don't seem to be, which is freaking me out a little. Though I am only 15 weeks so probably being silly and hormonal!
Sometimes I think I can feel the slightest thing if my bump is touching my desk but then I think I am probably just thinking about it too much or it's just to do with touching the desk. I did think I was feeling movements before too. Although last night I thought I could feel the pulling sensation while in bed but it was very vague so not sure.
16 week app. on monday so hopefully then I will get some reassurance either that or hopefully the baby will start dancing at the weekend!!

ShellyBobbs · 07/06/2012 14:51

I've got quite a bump, when I sit down I can put a brew on it without having to hold on, I also put my eyeshadow there now when doing my make-up, I'll miss this little shelf when baba's born.

My uniform is that big though, when I've got it on you can't tell at all, but I do look very strange. A little thing in this massive top, it's 8 inches bigger than my last one, they gave it me to last right the way through so I'll have to just bear with it for a few months and not mind the funny looks I get all the time.

ShellyBobbs · 07/06/2012 14:54

MrsWee This one is my 4th and my stomach muscles are shot so I can feel everything that goes on in there. With my first it was about 19 weeks, the second was 15 weeks, can't remember last time at all!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 07/06/2012 15:10

I have my midwife appt soon. I am hoping they will let me hear HB, I heard that they dont usually until 20 weeks and i am only 17 :(

mrswee · 07/06/2012 15:28

ShellyBobbs this is my second but I am hoping I'll start feeling more in the next week or so. Trying not to worry as it is most probably silly!

izzybizzybuzzybees I am hoping my midwife does the heart beat this week at my 16 week appointment.. I think they can at the 16 week but sometimes don't.. I hope she does!

georgee · 07/06/2012 15:58

mrswee we're hoping to move too - just getting our house on the market. Gets weirder and weirder doesn't it! I supposed if I believed in astrology I might put all these similarities down to our shared birthday!

If I see a pregnant lady coming round our house with an estate agent - that's when we both have to start worrying ...

Blimey though my 16 week appt isn't for a couple of weeks (when I'll be 17 weeks ...). No movements here yet! Cross fingers for a lovely strong clear heartbeat for you.

Thechick · 07/06/2012 16:37

mrswee I'm not feeling any movements as yet and I'm not worried. It's so different for each of us and it's still quite early days. I'm 16+4 with my second. There was a thing on the pregnancy talk on mumsnet and someone asked when people felt first kicks with their babies and I think people were saying up to 22, 23 weeks with their 2nd and we are not even close. I'll try and find the link. It will happen. Our babies will get there, I'm sure of it!!
