Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ShellyBobbs · 06/06/2012 19:08

Blimey, we are half way to a new thread already. Do we win a record?

Lilliana · 06/06/2012 19:33

Nope, you're not the last Shelly I've never heard of them and am now going to have to google - something I try not to do on MN!

Great ideas Swiss thanks, will def be starting a daddy box now.

Nervous I have heard people say you shouldn't buy things for baby until they arrive but what would you dress it in, how would you get it home etc?! I'm not too superstitious so not going to worry too much, but know some people prefer to buy the minimum poss because of this.

Sorry to all those living in Edinbrough, it must be a worry. I hope everyone is ok and you get your minds put to rest soon.

Hi and welcome to all the new people, November is a popular month!

blonderthanred · 06/06/2012 19:35

Shelly, I have had the laughing hysterically thing since really early on. I always cry when I laugh but now I can be reduced to a shrieking puddle by the most mundane things. I think it goes hand in hand with the general emotional melee, crying at adverts etc. And road rage... (just me?)

Also, leftover cake?????

Kyzordz · 06/06/2012 20:04

These threads seem to get full so quickly! I've been doing the laughing hysterically thing too, some of the smallest things have set me off, I haven't really done the crying thing much yet.

Baby has been moving an awful lot today, nothing at the moment but plenty this morning and over lunch time! I'm sure it's getting stronger/more noticeable every day too.

mrswee · 06/06/2012 20:13

Hi Sleepycaz and Hi Georgee!

Georgee I am 15 weeks too, as well as sharing a birthday and the city we live in!

hmmm cake pops.. two of my friends are amazing cake makers, really cool cakes for birthdays and weddings ect, they do cake pops and truffle pops... so tasty and amazingly decorated!

SleepyCaz · 06/06/2012 20:13

Hello :) Thanks for taking me on board! Am definitely going to find out this time. It will help prepare DS who's 6 and DD who's 3. Also, we currently have a 3 bedroom house, so we'll need to do some planning! Am 13.6 and starting to feel human again after being rank for weeks :( Have also been v panicky as have been TTC DC3 for almost 2 years and had 2 MC's during that time. This is the farthest we have got though, so feeling cautiously upbeat :) Will head to stats thread now..........

Kyzordz · 06/06/2012 20:18

Oops, i forgot to say hello to Georgee and SleepyCaz, so hellooo! :)

Evilwater · 06/06/2012 20:28

Ok, left over cake?? Never heard of such a thing.

As for baby movements, it's active everyday but it's not regular. It loves to make my stomach and the rest of my insides ache. I'm 21 weeks now.

Its been a busy day, I've had an eye test and need glasses. This explains a few things, like bumping into things.
After that I spent ages in a traffic que just to get paint books, which looking at I'm no closer to what colour the babys room is going to be.

I then went to look at baby car seats, and that was a disastrous. I'm more confused than this morning! So I thought I'd look at the which website and they want money! Last time I looked it was free.

Hope all is well with everyone,
Evil

ShellyBobbs · 06/06/2012 20:49

Think I've just eaten my 'chilliest' spag bol yet! This baba loves the hot chillies, funny because I usually have to drink gallons of water after eating HP sauce :)

kirrinIsland · 06/06/2012 22:39

Hi to georgee and sleepycaz :)

Back to work after the long weekend - that was shock!

I am officially massive - it's ridiculous. I'm sure I wasn't this big last time, I'm only 18 weeks. I'm going to be waddling soon!

ShellyBobbs · 07/06/2012 00:43

So far there is still no sleep in me, no sleep last night. Nooooooooooooo! Bloody working tomorrow too.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 07/06/2012 03:39

Kirren I am huge as well. Ridiculously so! I am honestly massive :(

StuntNun · 07/06/2012 08:01

Leftover cake? It sounds like you're speaking English but the words make no sense.

18 weeks today!

OP posts:
4kidsnobump · 07/06/2012 08:03

hello all, not had time to post for about a week as things are pretty hectic!

Had glucose test at the weekend so waiting to see if I pass that one or not...!

The latest is that the hospital are hassling me to go to see the consultant about going on anti clotting injections. Has anyone else had this? Not every had this before, but apparently because I have already had several babies, have BMI over 30 (only just at 32!) and am over 35 (again I've only just turned 35!) I am at 'high risk'

My initial thoughts are that it just seems some additional complication they are finding based on ticking boxes on a sheet, and not because of any medical reasons particularly in my case. Am inclined to refuse at this stage as I really don't want to be doing injections for the rest of my pregnancy if there isn't a genuine reason for it.

Sleepy we had a miscarriage after DC3, and have successfully gone on to have DC4 and now (hopefully) DC5, so fingers crossed things will be fine. We will also be finding out as we have to fit 5 kids into 4 bedroom house, so depending on what sex the new baby is will depend on who shares with who!

SwissArmyWife · 07/06/2012 08:21

No, never heard of leftover cake, unless they mean the crumbs that are left on the carpet Grin

I am also huge, definitely wasn't this big before but then I suppose my muscles are more like an overused bag now, and have just given in!

4kids Really, sounds like they're just assuming rather than looking at facts that apply to you personally. I'd talk to someone about it again, in depth and see what you can do. I wouldn't want to do it either.

Hope you all have a good day :)

ditsygem · 07/06/2012 08:50

oo I've just remembered MIL left some cake here when she left yesterday - now other peoples left over cake - that makes more sense, but I can gurantee it will be gone by lunch :)

horseylady · 07/06/2012 08:56

Not heard of cake pops defo not left over cake?!!

19 weeks today!!!! Scan a week today!!!!!!!

Feeling so more real!!!

notatschool · 07/06/2012 09:18

Hi, can I join? An due 16th Nov with DC4 (yikes). Woke this morning feeling sure something was wrong. Was feeling some movements (17 weeks tomorrow) but had a nasty knock to the stomach a couple of days ago and convinced myself I hadn't felt anything since and had hurt the baby :( Then came on here reading everyone's worries about movements coming and going in the early weeks and feel a bit better now - thanks :)

Have mw appt tomorrow so hopefully will hear hb then and be further reassured.

BTW, anyone else using the my pregnancy app from the baby centre? I really like it.

applepieinthesky · 07/06/2012 09:33

Welcome Georgee and SleepyCaz.

This talk of cake pops is making me hungry.

I have now ordered my pram! eeek! It's the Pliko Pramette from Mamas and Papas and it seems to tick all the boxes. Please nobody say anything bad about it because I have committed to buying it now. I also need to make decisions and just go with them because otherwise I will still be debating it in five months time.

Hope everyone is feeling well today. Lots of scan dates approaching. Exciting stuff Smile

Lilliana · 07/06/2012 09:59

horsey hope the scan goes well today.

Well done Apple we have chosen our pram but not bought it yet - do need to pull my finger out and just commit to things!

Notatschool I wouldn't worry, they are pretty well protected in there. I have to go have an injection if I get knocked so spoke to mw about it and she said if you knocked yourself hard enough to need it you would probably bleed and even then it wouldn't necessarily be a problem so hopefully all ok with your LO. Hope the mw reassures you tomorrow.

4kids I agree with Swiss, it does sound like a generic, x + y = z rather than actually looking at you as an individual case, I would want to find out more.

I still haven't felt any movements :( but am huge! Bought some bump bands this week and love them, no more pulling my tops down all the time.

misslaughalot · 07/06/2012 10:29

4kids I had a consultant appointment on Tuesday and they were talking about giving me those injections too. I was 36 three weeks ago, and also have a high BMI (a bit higher than yours I think, will have to check my notes) but they've decided just to monitor me as I'm borderline and only give me them if necessary. Definitely see if you can talk to someone in depth about it.

notatschool · 07/06/2012 10:33

Thanks Lilliana :)

jaylee89 · 07/06/2012 10:39

hello ladies long time no speak i cant believe how many threads there are now lol.

am officially 17+4 today :D. we have our 20 week scan on 21st june and we cant wait to find out what were having. i didnt with my DD but i have this niggling feeling i HAVE to find out lol. mother isn't best pleased.

as for movements been feeling them since around 13 weeks but now baby is kicking and hubby can feel them too but i have no bump hardly atm i must be HOLLOW!!!

hope all is well

Chunkychicken · 07/06/2012 11:11

I've lost track with who's doing what as only been skim-reading between packing...!!! So apologies :)

No idea what cake pops are but the ONLY time I've ever had left over cake was after my DD's birthday & my MS/food cravings wouldn't allow me to eat any Shock and there was far too much to let DD eat it. Had to throw it away - double Shock

Had MW appt this morning. All well, looking into homebirth & heard HB.
It sounded slower than I expected, def slower than I remember DD's being, but didn't find out the rate to see whether it would fall into the boy or girl category!! Not finding out although far more tempted now than ever. DH thinks girl, I'm leaning towards boy, but not sure if that's wishful thinking, as would like a boy & know DH would too, although we're both happy with another girl too.

Hope everyone is well today - welcome to those new mums too!! :)

May go AWOL for a bit seeing as we're moving on TUESDAY Shock but will check back in soon. :)

Chunkychicken · 07/06/2012 11:13

Oh and I'm feeling HUGE!! About 3-4wks bigger than with DD I think, iyswim. If anyone asks, I'll just be vague with the due date & hope to avoid the 'you're massive' comments!! Grin
