Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DesperateHousewife21 · 05/06/2012 14:07

misslaughalot they usually try to find the hb at the 16 week app but does depend on your area. My mw found mine (well the baby's not actually mine!) and I was only 15 weeks and I find it all the time with my Doppler now.

ValiumQueen · 05/06/2012 14:38

Movement variable here too. It will not be long before we are moaning about feet in ribs and baby keeping us awake at night.

I worry as much about this one as I did the other two. It is our job to, but I would say they are easier when in the tummy than out.

applepieinthesky · 05/06/2012 14:51

misslaughalot My appointment was at 15 weeks for some reason and the mw found the heartbeat fine. She held the doppler close to me and I could hear it really clear.

SwissArmyWife · 05/06/2012 15:55

Thanks everyone for your tips and reassurance, I don't have an assigned MW at the moment as I moved Dr surgery not long ago and had to rebook my 16 week appointment, which isn't for another week yet.
I've felt a few blips since posting but not sure if it was the baby or not, it was so faint. As others have said i've been feeling movements before now so obviously I can't help but worry, and then worry even more because i'm trying so hard to concentrate and see if I can feel anything!

Although it's not nice that a lot of us are worried, it's nice that we're all going through it iyswim!

I just hope that in a few weeks i'll be feeling baby constantly - still got to wait three weeks for scan and it's driving me crazy!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/06/2012 15:59

I've been feeling movement almost every day for the past week now. Sometimes it'll literally only be once a day but then I'm 16 weeks today so I know it's still quite early.

applepieinthesky · 05/06/2012 16:40

My scan is still over three weeks away as well swiss. It feels like a lifetime away.

mrswee · 05/06/2012 16:44

For all those not feeling movements in that last few days, I am the same, thought I was feeling them before but now nothing. I am trying not to worry about it as I am only 15 weeks so I guess it's not usual to feel them all the time. I have eaten quite a considerable amount of ice cream over the last few days so you'd think I would have felt something! Hmm

Had the morning from hell with terrible twos from DD and terrible pregnant and 36s from back at her from mummy. I think we are as bad as each other. She told me she didn't like me but that she hated me and I said I didn't care Blush
then we had a cuddle but all day before and after that she has been really testing the terrible twos thoery to the limit arrgh

Then I discovered just as I was about to leave the house that DH had left the pram and the changing bag in the car and driven it to his work on the other side of the city. So I had to drag the heavy phil and teds from under the bed.. which involved me having to lift a four poster bed with one hand while dragging the buggy out from under.. this is after having my first bad night with early SPD signs... As so as the buggy was out I burst into tears! then the place I was going was shut for the jubilee and I ended up with a very miserable all ready miserable DD because we didn't have time to go to the park after all that faffing.. honestly just wanted to throw in the towel today. But i couldn't because after all that I had to go to work at 2pm :(

mrswee · 05/06/2012 16:44

but at least when I got to work there was cake and ice cream!

horseylady · 05/06/2012 17:07

I have the mother of all blisters bloody walking boots!!!!! Anyway fab walk think most people would have had a fit at the last part dh took me down (oh let's just see down this ridge!!) but halfway down going back up was more dangerous!! Anyway all in one piece and no falls just lots of sliding on my bum ( would normally just have jumped!!) just going to have a bath sort the blister out, food shop and hopefully a curry!!

Peaky1 · 05/06/2012 17:21

When you all talk about movements, what does it feel like to you? I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and I keep thinking that maybe I feel movement (it's my first) but things feel different every time. Sometimes it's bubbling - could be gas, sharp pain behind belly button - could be stretching and one time I felt a weird tug under my belly button and then a flutter that moved to the one side.

Horsey, may I please syphen off some of your energy (minus the urge to cliff dive!)

ValiumQueen · 05/06/2012 17:59

Peaky all those are likely to be baby moving.

Kyzordz · 05/06/2012 18:05

Thanks for the congrats everyone, and congrats to you too peaky on your boy :) Hope everyone hasn't got too long to wait until their scans now! I'm not on the facebook thing but i'll get that sorted and update the stats list etc :) I think mr man has been on the move a fair bit today but then i've not been doing alot today so i've been able to pay more attention lol!

TheDetective · 05/06/2012 18:42

I think there was a movement earlier. I'm not sure though. I felt it on my arm which was resting just below my belly button! OH!! I just felt one then when I typed that!

Naughty baby!

Dixiebell · 05/06/2012 18:53

Hi everyone, you are all very chatty, I've spent days just trying to catch up so haven't been able to post anything again! Just wanted to say peaky, definitely sounds like movement. With my first I felt movement when I was 16 weeks and at that stage to me it felt like either bubbles popping just under the surface, or like a sort of small muscle twitch. I'm 15 weeks today and although a few weeks ago I was convinced I could feel it, I've had nothing since so maybe it was actually just a twitch! Or maybe baby was in a very specific position. Anyway, hoping to feel it again soon in the next couple. That is the best thing about pregnancy for me, it is amazing to feel the movement! Gotta go, DS about to get out of the bath and for some reason although he's all 'daddy daddy daddy' at the moment, mummy always has to do the drying. As it's one of only a few points in the day when I get a bit of affection from him at the moment (if daddy's home), I'll take that for now!

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/06/2012 19:29

The feeling I get is as if the baby is doing a roly poly, it's usually in the same place every time.

I listened to it on the Doppler again earlier, it's getting easier to find it as its getting bigger and it kicked the probe! I couldn't feel it but heard it v clearly.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/06/2012 20:03

Can I join you all, have been searching for a November group to join up with. Am due 7th November. This is DC 4, 20 week scan booked for 21st June I would like a surprise this time I think though DH would like to know.

I have been feeling a few movements but there is no pattern to them and some days I worry that I'm not feeling anything at all. I am really hoping that I start to feel more soon.

horseylady · 05/06/2012 20:12

Peaky sounds like movements also help yourself to energy lol

Baby feels really low but zooms round and kicks two or three times a day!!

Curry fab now just want my bed!!! Dh woke me up too early so we'd get a parking spot. Arrived to find no other cars!!

Passmethecrisps · 05/06/2012 20:36

Hi everyone,
Lots been happening in the last few days then. I am on my phone so I won't be able to name check properly - hate doing that as it seems so rude.

Have been away at a wedding which was great fun. First social engagement since i got pregnant - was a bit weird as previously I have enjoyed a few drinks in that company but a lovely wedding anyway.

What was odd was I felt no movement all day. I have been getting movement for just over a week and feel it pretty much daily particularly in the evening. I had one small glass of champers yesterday so I think. I may have sent it to sleep. Sitting relaxing now and sausage is making up for yesterday. It is odd how normal it becomes - feeling nothing yesterday was very odd indeed.

My 20 week scan is on the 26th June - getting very impatient. No gender for us though. The authority doesn't do it as standard. Not too bothered though. Have taken to calling sausage 'he' but I don't have any sense either way.

kirrinIsland · 05/06/2012 20:43

Welcome Sophia - we share a due date :)

horsey where do you get your energy from?!

horseylady · 05/06/2012 20:48

Erm.....I'll not tell you what I did pre pregnancy!!!! But im still working at least a 50 hr week!! I'm not running just riding and walking!! Love both!!!

SwissArmyWife · 05/06/2012 20:51

Movements to me feel like bubbles, or pops, and sometimes I can feel it rolling or squirming. Usually feel the baby scrambling or pushing for space if i'm hunched over (generally doing something or other with DD) or little kicks when i'm lying down on my side. Like I said i've felt a few little pops today and hoping it is the baby I can feel!
Also, i'm not over weight but I do have a bit of a belly - always have! Does this affect how much I can feel do you think?

mrswee sounds like you've had a very stressful day :( But hooray for cake and ice cream Grin

Welcome to the thread Sophia, I hope you start feeling movements regularly soon :)

-yawn-, I am so tired now, think I might get an early night! How boring am I? :)

Cacacaz · 05/06/2012 22:06

Oh MrsWee you have put me in the mood for cake Wink I hope the rest of your day was stress free.

Welcome Sophia to this very busy thread

I have had a lovely day, visiting a friend who had a baby boy last month, he is just adorable and it was lovely having some newborn cuddles from him although I kept thinking that in 5 months time we will have a real live baby! I think until now it has been surreal that there will be a real baby at the end of all this. My lovely friend has given me her Doppler so dh and I have spent the evening listening to babies heartbeat, it is rather addictive Smile

We have just used £100 on tesco clubcard vouchers in their recent promotion and have managed to get £200 worth of baby things without spending a penny. If any of you have any vouchers you can double the value to spend, you have to exchange them before the 13 June and redeem them by the 19 June Grin

GTbaby · 05/06/2012 23:11

Hello. Think I've finally felt some movement. A few teeny tiny kicks. When I think of how little fraggles feet must be kicking, makes me Grin. So cute.

Laying in bed now eating a twix Blush I've also had I've cream, chocolate, sweets crisps today. N I've just realised not felt sick (DONT SPEAK TO SOON lol) all day.

Yesterday first (very brave )person asked if i was expecting. I was wearing a sari n bump looked huge. I was tempted to say no, just to watch the guy cringe at his mistake lol. But I was kind.

Off to debrovnick tomorrow n have to get up at 3am! To drive to gatwick. But I'm looking forward to sitting in the sun.

Don't talk to much while I'm away! Nxt time I post I'll be at 20weeks! Half way stage comin up ladies Grin.

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/06/2012 07:30

Ooh enjoy your hol GT I'm going to Spain in 3 weeks I sooo can't wait!

I don't know what to do today, forecast says rain but I don't want to stay in all day and also dont want to spend money so it doesn't leave me with many options!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 06/06/2012 07:40

Thanks everyone. I am on holiday at the moment in. It so sunny Dein and am looking forward to facial late today. Ahhh the luxury!
