Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Flippin eck! That sounds all nice and organised! I've battled (and won...fnar) to get OH to accompany me to ikea tomoz to have a look in the kids bit for ideas. Ok, maybe I am cruel for dragging him around ikea on a bank hol Wink

YellowWellies · 04/06/2012 19:15

Woo hoo!!! Kyzordz congrats on having a wee son! Glad it was good news xx

YellowWellies · 04/06/2012 19:20

Woo Peaky congrats on another boy! Cor team blue are storming ahead. Hello MrsPaynie - I'm Mrs Payne in real life :)

SwissArmyWife · 04/06/2012 19:25

Wow - another boy! Congrats peaky! Grin

And hello again MrsPaynie, I think you were on the thread I made a few weeks back :) How are you doing?

Cacacaz · 04/06/2012 19:33

Congratulations Kyzordz and Peaky boys certainly seem to be taking over on this thread Grin

mrswee · 04/06/2012 20:25

hi everyone! you girls were busy yesterday, taken me ages to catch up!

MrsPaynie welcome, I'm due on the 27th of nov so close to you!

MrsPaynie and valiumqueen I had SPD in my last pregnancy and I am dreading it returning. I was 3 stone lighter at the start of this pregnancy than I was at the start of last pregnancy, so I am hoping that will help

  • but I ran for a bus, not far at all the other day and felt those horrible twinges straight away. On sunday I had a friend's DS for the day as well as my DD so took them both out in the phil and teds, which was very heavy to push and I ended up with pains in the evening... so I am not holding out much hope.
Also makes me want to sell the phil and teds because I can't imagine humping it about with a small baby and a 3yo and trying to get it up and down stairs while recovering from SPD. Although I felt 90% better after the birth of my DD, I still couldn't sit on the floor for almost a year after having her or carry her in a sling at all without all the pains returning.
mrswee · 04/06/2012 20:27

Hope everyone with sickness has some relief very soon!

I am going to work as long as possible because I am worried about how long i will take off in total. I am the main earner and buying the new flat means we are going ot be a lot worse off than before.

Evilwater · 04/06/2012 20:51

Hello everyone.
I've manged to burn my breast, yep the sun did that. It's very sore and not very nice looking, and I can only wear one bra. Talk about doing a poper job!

I also almost burned my hands, bloody baby brain.
Evil

mrswee · 04/06/2012 21:00

Evil I am so sensitive to the sun while pregnant that it only take me about 15 mins to burn! may be it's the same with you?

MrsPaynie · 04/06/2012 21:04

Thanks for the warm welcome Smile. Mrswee, I feel for you with the Phil and Teds! That's the pushchair I had to struggle with after my last birth, it was difficult to start with but after the SPD started to get easier it was a dream to push, by far the best double I've used. My SPD has already kicked in Sad and I can barely walk my DS to nursery already, I'm dreading the next few months, though this time isn't as bad as my las pregnancy yet, I was on crutches by 15 weeks last, and although I'm only 14 weeks now I think I'm at least a few weeks away from needing them yet! I hope!

I'm so glad my sickness has vanished, got real sympathy for those of you still suffering. Hope it subsides soon for you!

Evilwater · 04/06/2012 21:07

Mrswee, sounds about right! I just hate having this huge sab.

horseylady · 04/06/2012 21:45

Today has been better!! No comments!!! Worked pretty much all day but rode quickly between shifts though the horse has two swollen legs....don't ask!! She's fine to ride just got two knocks!! She tried to kick me when I cleaned it up horrid thing!!

Doing a 12 mile walk tomorrow!! Hoping the rain holds off...

Congrats on the boy!!!

mrswee · 04/06/2012 21:50

MrsPaynie that sounds truly awful, I wish you the best of luck with this pregnancy. I was on crutches towards the end, only helped not being anyworse by a weekly visit to a very talented ostiopath. Who has unfortunetly move back to newzealand :(
I won't be able to afford an ostiopath this time but my pain started around 12 weeks before and I am 15 weeks now and only getting twinges so hoping it won't be as severe!

MissMummy1 · 04/06/2012 22:35

20 weeks scan booked for Friday 13th July (thank god I'm not superstitious!) at 1 o'clock. DH better bloody get the day off for this one!!

Went 'window shopping' for baby things at the weekend after getting the all clear at our scan. Only one domestic in Mothercare (according to DH we don't need a pushchair?!?!) and we ended up coming home with a new wetsuit for him and a new pair of flat shoes for me - after said strop as a guilt trip present.

Practical baby things, zilch. However darling granny has spent all afternoon making me pick out knitting patterns and wool colours, so if all else fails at least our child will sleep in a drawer, be carried everywhere in a rucksack (idiot man) and have enough woolies to do 50+ kids!

Chunkychicken · 04/06/2012 23:04

I have had a really sore pelvis, with feeling stiff when I woke up & generally feeling inflexible/twinges when moving today, so really sympathise with those who have suffered PGP/SPD. Will be doing some stretches this evening & trying to be more careful lugging the packing boxes around tomorrow!!! 16wks today so I suppose it was only to be expected, given my dodgy pelvis/hip history.

Welcome to MrsPaynie & Congrats on the boys.

EW I used to burn really easily when on the pill, so I am extra careful during pg. Try putting the aftersun in the fridge...

WaitingForMe · 05/06/2012 08:24

Sorry your DH has been a bit of a muppet MissMummy. I swear they get as irrational and hormonal as us. I'm sure he'll find himself talking to people soon and getting so many raised eyebrows that he'll be rushing home with his idea about transport systems.

I went to a gig last night and the vibration through my uterus was very strange! I've been feeling something like movement and it was far more noticeable last night - less kicks, more like something turning over. Baby did lots of somersaults during scan so I'm pretty sure that's what I was feeling.

A friend commented on Facebook that she was working the festival circuit when pregnant with her youngest and now her DD loves dancing around to music. So odd to realise that before I know it this one will be in nappies and bopping around itself Grin

Iheartpasties · 05/06/2012 08:42

really feeling the baby move today - I'm bang on 18 weeks :)

SwissArmyWife · 05/06/2012 10:32

I'm 18 weeks on Friday and haven't felt the baby at all the last couple of days :( Really worried :(

Chunkychicken · 05/06/2012 10:54

SwissArmyWife baby has probably moved so you can't feel them (there's still plenty of space for them to hide in remember) but perhaps try doing all the tricks they suggest to get an older baby to move; have a nice cold drink (a can of coke is a good one, ice cold) then lay quietly for a little while. I find sitting at the dining table works for my LO, as s/he tends to fidget 'upwards' I think so I feel it when its a bit more squashed in there!! They don't move regularly until later on either, so its probably nothing to worry about.

MrsPaynie · 05/06/2012 11:42

Like pp suggests hun try the cold drink and lay down still for a while. If you still don't feel movement it won't hurt to give your midwife a call to get checked over. Baby is probably just hiding or turned round so that could be why you are feeling less.

TheDetective · 05/06/2012 12:10

Came on here to post the same thing myself Swiss. Midwife in me tells me I'm being irrational. But this baby has been so active from early on, had some quieter days but not days with no movement at all. Not felt him for 3 days now. God damn hormones making me worry needlessly. I know it's normal at this stage, but you can't help your feelings!!

I've tried everything to stimulate him. And... Nada. Not a twitch. Sure he will start again soon.

MrsPaynie · 05/06/2012 12:37

TheDetective, will your midwife not see you to listen in with her Doppler just for reassurance? It is worrying when you've been feeling them for a while and then all goes quite. I'd ask her if she can just spare five mins to give you peace of mind.

kirrinIsland · 05/06/2012 13:04

Swiss and detective I have the same worry. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and haven't felt anything in a couple of days. But I haven't been feeling regular movement, and I keep reminding myself of how active the baby was on my 16 week scan and how I couldn't feel a thing. I'm dying to start feeling regular movement - it's so reassuring.

I'm off to get a cold can of coke....

misslaughalot · 05/06/2012 13:22

Afternoon everyone, had my consultant appointment this morning. I hadn't heard anything regarding my blood tests so I assumed everything was ok and indeed it is, all negative for diseases etc and my risk of Down's is 1:100000 so I'm pretty happy with that!

Have my 16 week MW appointment next week. Is it standard that they find the heartbeat at this appointment? I'm not feeling any movement yet and would be reassured if she could listen in to see how the little bug is doing!

Sending positive thoughts to all those with worries, I was hoping after 12 weeks the worries might get less, but is it just one constant worry after another now?! Maybe until they leave home?!?! (and probably after that too!)

TheDetective · 05/06/2012 13:28

MrsPaynie there is no clinic until Friday at the GP's and I'm on nights from Thursday. Will just see how it goes for now. Pesky child already!
