Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 22:46

if I am or not. doh!

Lilliana · 30/05/2012 07:43

Wow detective wish I was losing, I just keep gaining ang gaining [think about 7lb so far Blush I'm going to be HUGE.] Sorry the sickness has returned, I thought mine was over and then suddenly was caught again.

Evil sorry about the scan, there do seem to be lots of grumpy sonographers around. At least baby seems well, thats the most important thing.

Will also check out nurserysavings as we have fallen in love with a cot but it is sooo expensive! Trust us to want the most expensive one

Thanks Stuntnun and Daisychain for the info, won't worry about it and will try to avoid children running into me in the playground! I just hate needles :(

Hope all is ok DH at least they are keeping an eye on it.

Can I ask what is prob a stupid question but do you get pictures from your second scan as well as your first?

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/05/2012 08:49

We get pics from the second scan, 4 weeks til mine.

I've been reading old threads about low PAPP-A levels and it doesn't seem to be a big issue. No one has had anything bad happen because of it. I think it's just the growth of the baby they are going to monitor.
I just want to know now! Hope I don't have to wait too long for the hosp app.

FuckerSnailInYourHedgerow · 30/05/2012 09:13

Stuntnun - I quite like your name, it conjures up all kinds of strange images:) Well i am nowhere near you, I'll be having the baby at Sligo General, but hey, at least you're not at the mercy of the HSE! Although I had DS there and the staff were nothing short of lovely, I'm almost looking forward to going back!

Pixie - that is lovely news, congratualtions!

Shanelle - how frustrating! I have the same problem with DP sometimes... I hate having to ask him to do stuff for me that I normally do myself, the bin is always forgotten about lately! We have a chalkboard in the kitchen though, and writing 'to do' stuff on it helps.

Re. maternity clothes, I havent bought any yet, but last time I just got Empire style dresses in a size or two bigger in primark, I dont wear trousers so I think that helps.

So jealous of everyone getting their second scans, I wish I could have mine!

ShellyBobbs · 30/05/2012 09:36

I've busted my ankle :(

I was walking outside in the garden yesterday and fell down a step and twisted my ankle! Will have to just put up with it and hobble for my double shifts tomorrow and Friday......

Anyway, I'm off to see what massive mountain of healthy food I can scoff.

ditsygem · 30/05/2012 09:51

Am I the only one who seems to be piling on the weight no matter how healthily I eat? I think in total since getting pregnant I have put on a stone! Shock eek! I am really hoping I am one of those people who puts on lots to start with and then not much towards the end - otherwise I may be the size of a small country by the time I finish! I was a size 12 before so not big really but not skinny, but am finding it really disconcerting to be getting bigger (even though OH keeps reminding me I'm 4 months pregnant when I say I'm fat!)

ditsygem · 30/05/2012 09:52

shelleybobbs really hope your ankle feels better - take care of yourself!

Cacacaz · 30/05/2012 10:03

Ouch ShellyBobbs I hope your ankle is better soon and isn't too painful

Ditsygem I too have put on a stone so far Blush. I am trying to make a conscious effort to choose healthier options rather than just eating what I fancy. I have a definite bump but I just feel so fat, which I know isn't the case, I don't like having to plan what to wear on advance rather than just being able to grab anything from my wardrobe, knowing that it would fit.

DH I hope you get some answers from the consultant sooner rather than later.

I woke up this morning unable to move due to cramp on both my calves simultaneously, it was painful to say the least Sad. I have heard bananas can help, however I don't think that is the case as I ate two yesterday.

SwissArmyWife · 30/05/2012 10:26

Hello ladies!

Isn't pregnancy such a confusing time?!

shelly I hope your ankle gets better soon!

DH Try not to worry yourself, i'm sure everything will be fine :)

ditsy I'm also putting on a lot of weight, although i've never owned a pair of scales in my life and don't intend to start now, i've managed to cut down on my portion sizes recently so hoping that will make a difference. If not I will just have to swallow my pride and be a pregasaurus!

I've finally got my 16 week appointment booked - at 19 weeks!! Angry
I suppose it can't be helped but it's pretty annoying that i'm going to have to wait, i've never been a patient person.

Think I may have SPD, horrendous pain in my hips, mainly the right side, and they're clicking a lot aswell. Going to have to get the exercise ball out!

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/05/2012 11:14

I've def got pgp on my left side, I did alot of walking yesterday and the pain was awful in the eve.
I stupidly forgot to tell the mw about it on mon but def will at my next app.

I've been v lazy so far today, literally just laid on the sofa feeling sick getting up every now and then to get ds food.

After his lunch/ nap I'll go to the park for the afternoon- promise!

Brockle · 30/05/2012 11:43

Glad you are feeling a bit more positive DH, at least they know about your hormone levels so they can monitor them and you get to see your baby a lot more!

The recurrence of sickness is crap so I hope you ladies are feeling a bit better. My mum came to babysit this morning and said "God, are you sure its not twins?" That did not do my self esteem much good. The only reprieve she has is that she is on the fourth knitted cardie Smile I am staying away from scales. they are the devils creation.

Had consultant appointment today and she put me onto midwifery led care which was great and I got to hear the heart beat which was just lovely. Definitely a chuffing train so perhaps I will change my assessment to boy no 3!

Chunkychicken · 30/05/2012 12:09

Doctor's expert diagnosis of DD's rash was "non-specific viral rash". What an amazing insight he must have??!!! At least he did say that it didn't look like German measles (as they'd had some cases recently) and talked about other rashes that are a concern in pg (chicken pox, slapped cheek), saying that it didn't seem to be any of those... At least DD isn't really poorly with it, I'm seeing the MW nxt wk & hopefully it won't be long before my 20wk scan.

Sorry to hear about the hip/pg pain - that sucks. Seeing my chiropractor helped during my first pg & doing some simple stretches eased some of the discomfort at the end of the day. Hope you get some relief.

applepieinthesky · 30/05/2012 12:09

Sounds painful shelly Hope it gets better soon.

I don't usually weight myself and I'm going to lay off the scales now because there is absolutely nothing I can do about my weight so what's the point?

Today I have been getting some niggles just under where my bump is and at times it feels almost like there is a band right across my middle. Do you think this is just my ligaments stretching? Any ideas?

Iheartpasties · 30/05/2012 12:17

Hi ladies,

Sorry to hear about sprained ankles, and low hormone levels and a moody doctor doing a scan etc etc

I have bought the second hand cot from my friend and her husband will deliver it in his van for us. I will buy a new matress for it, but I'll have a look around online for the matress and try and get a good price. I want an organic one! I will also buy some new sheets and a water proof matress protector.

I am online now trying to look for some sort of co-sleeper thingy. Where the new born baby can sleep in something inbetween me and DH, but is protected from us. Hard to describe! I want to get a different one to the one we had last time, we had no room in our bed at all last time! we had a snuggy bed and it was too wide!! The baby loved it though :)

My cousins baby boy had flat head sydrome so I have messaged her to ask her about some sort of head support to try and avoid that. My dd has a slightly flat bit on the back of her head and I'd love to avoid it all together this time.

Sorry for rambling. Sometimes I just have little bursts of trying to think of the essential things we will need to get!

applepieinthesky · 30/05/2012 12:18

weigh*

Gosh I can't spell just lately.

ilovemyoboe · 30/05/2012 18:23

No idea what our baby is, but not too bothered. Have a little boy already, so I'm sure he would play well with a brother. Have been offered loads of girls clothes by several friends .. and it would be lovely to have a little girl to put pretty dresses on :-) Oh well, wait and see!

SwissArmyWife · 30/05/2012 19:04

oboe - Will you be finding out before it's born? :)

ValiumQueen · 30/05/2012 19:23

My mouth is one big ulcer, but my ankles, DH and pelvis are all fine.

Evilwater · 30/05/2012 19:26

I see no one has picked up that I'm having a boy, I just wanted to see if any had picked up on it.

Yesterday I got wind burnt and sunburnt, I still have a red face.
Evil

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/05/2012 19:33

I saw on fb! I wasn't sure if you had announced it here I didn't want to ruin it.

You should have put it on the fb group that's what it's there for!

Cacacaz · 30/05/2012 19:36

Oooh Evil congratulations Grin I have just re read your post, I have only just realised after scrutinising your post twice, that you mentioned a potential name dh was winding you up about Wink

WestWinger · 30/05/2012 19:39

evil yay! A little boy!

blonderthanred · 30/05/2012 19:42

Oh no Evil I totally missed that! That's fantastic news!

daisychain76 · 30/05/2012 19:45

That's great, Evil - lots of Thomas the Tank Engine, Roary the Racing car and Fireman Sam to look forward too!

Evilwater · 30/05/2012 19:48

I'm sorry for hiding it, I was sure I was having a girl, another shock to the system.
